Arghhh they work!!! Thank you chocolateSmile

I'm in bed and praying babyloo doesn't wake till at least two but I'm not hopeful.

[hgrin]

chocolatetester1 · 24/10/2012 21:28

No probs! Your frittata sounds great, I'm going to pretend to be jealous so I can [henvy] [hgrin]

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 24/10/2012 21:37

Liking all the Halloween smileys [hsmile]. DD1 & I are going to start making some Halloween decorations tomorrow, paper plate spider webs & ghostly night lights to put in the window. Or rather I will try making them and she will enjoy making a general mess and probably try sticking the googly eyes on the baby...could be fun!

Going to walk round to my Grandad's now, he's always up til the small hours so some company for the first part of the night will be good since DH is going to bed in a minute. Babylump currently asleep but it won't last long, I'm anticipating another late one.

Here's hoping for some sleepy dust for everyone tonight.

Clumsasaurus · 24/10/2012 22:13

Well babysaurus gave up the screaming and is now feeding... Fingers crossed he sleeps soon as I am done in!

Anyone using homeopathy for their LO's? Babysaurus had cranial osteopathy and I'm off to get homeopathic advice tomorrow for arnica (shock, bumps,

Clumsasaurus · 24/10/2012 22:14

.... Grrrr iPhone!

...and post jabs and camomilla to calm him when fussy. Anyone else or am I the white witch freak in the corner [hwink]

TeaandHobnobs · 24/10/2012 22:28

Chamomila is used in teething powders, and most people seem to think they work. As long as it doesn't cause harm, I guess it's fine - although I'm afraid I'm in the placebo park where homeopathy is concerned, which is fine for me, but I don't see it working on babies [hconfused]

But each to their own of course! [hsmile]

clumsa are you keen on a structured carrier or happy with any kind of sling or carrier? I have a je Porte mon bebe stretchy wrap (well, hired it from sling library) and it is fab. When DD is heavier I'll move onto a mei tai or woven wrap for more support. We also have a baby Bjorn for dh but haven't used it yet as she isn't officially 8lb (hoping she will be at next weigh in though).

Bad night last night followed by DD feeding quite a lot and staying wakeful all morning but she has slept solidly since 6 so am expecting her to wake up for the night any moment [Hsad]

My DM is here and has volunteered to stay an extra night til Saturday so dh and I can go out for a pint Friday night. Am out of proportion excited about this!

Will google American soda at next feed....good luck for sleepy babies all.

funchum8am · 24/10/2012 22:32

And thanks for new thread, tea, and welcome to all the new night owls.

Am determined to make the new emoticons to work on phone [hgrin]

MummyVicky18 · 24/10/2012 22:39

Evening all Smile

Baby J still isn't asleep so think I'm in for yet another rough ride but sounds like I might be having some company Confused

Baby J had his last jabs today & I've also had some blood taken. So tonight I don't know what is the mattr with baby J - it could be his teeth, tummy, jabs???

Fingers crossed for a good night everyone x

BabylonPI · 24/10/2012 22:41

I'm here, but knackered once again so signing off and going to sleep while I can! Will catch up properly tomorrow [hgrin]

MiniPopsMum2012 · 24/10/2012 22:47

Uh oh, good sleeping might be coming to an end, have a wide awake Minipop's follow in his 10th feed. sigh

he's far more interested in make funny faces at the door handles & giggling than hound back tomorrow sleep. Bah!

tea glad little one is asleep again now, I love fajitas. Yum... Need to make frittata & fajitas thus week now. [hgrin]

MiniPopsMum2012 · 24/10/2012 22:48

Going not hound - this stupid bloody phone...

MiniPopsMum2012 · 24/10/2012 22:51

And Back to sleep not back tomorrow. Bah! [hangry]

Clumsasaurus · 24/10/2012 22:52

Arrtggghhh! I woke babysaurus up coughing, decided to change him as I was sure I'd heard a poonami only to find a clean nappy and a wide awake DS. Get him settled to feed to get him off to sleep and... You've guessed it.... Poonami! Arrggghhh!

Clumsasaurus · 24/10/2012 22:56

funchum we have a bjorn but I find he never looks fully supported and comfy but more dangles Hmm I've done some research today and apparently the bjorn isn't great for development particularly hip dysplasia. We will still use the bjorn for longer walks etc but I want something for home. I think soft structure is the way fwd for us and probably a mei tai...

funchum8am · 24/10/2012 23:05

I would like a mei tai - I love the syretchy

funchum8am · 24/10/2012 23:07

clumsa I would like a mei tai - I love the stretchy but get very hot in it indoors. There are some that my sling meet buddies like but they are quite pricy eg babyhawk - I keep checking eBay though! Let me know what you end up going for.

Smallgreenone · 25/10/2012 00:03

Ok dream feed done and baby small asleep just need to express and I can sneak into bed for hopefully hours and hours [hhmm]. Loving the Halloween smileys- am easily pleased [hsmile]!
Thank you for my virtual hot chocolate I have drank it with a hestons mince pie. Anyone had one? The shortcrust ones with tangerine sugar dusting are delicious, not so keen on the puff pastry ones though.

Goatbongosanonymous · 25/10/2012 00:08

Well I turn my back for a second and everyone gets so excited about the new thread that it explodes!! Especially with the food porn!

I would love a pretzel please mrsn they sound fab. I'm okay thanks, just one of those days when you're so exhausted that the little things start feeling insurmountable, and old things come back to haunt you... DH has just had Kid for a bit so I have had a little sleep and feel better [hsmile]

Susie my DH hates goat's cheese too (I am not personally insulted) [hgrin] but I think your frittata sounds great! Did you enjoy it despite the omelette likeness?

Clums that cold sounds horrible, I do hope babysuarus settles and lets you get some sleep.

Tea sorry to hear about the bad night. Stick to your guns about the weaning if you don't think he is ready. I was talking to another prem mum who had exactly the same argument with her hv. Stuck to her guns and is just weaning LO now at 7 months and says she is sure it is less fraught than it wold have been. They say 5-8 months for a reason, after all!

heff how was the tiramisu?

Mummyv I sometimes wonder if the old wives tale about the weather affecting babies has a grain of truth - so many had a bad night last night. Here's sending a veritable plague of sleepy mice your way!

Minipop along the same route as door handles, Kd loves the bizarre reflections in the metal swing bin. He also loves windows!

fun we went to the pub last night and giggled all the way home at being allowed out on a school night!

elvislives2012 · 25/10/2012 00:25

Hi can I join? Fresh from the pregnancy threads Grin
Dd is 4 days old and I'm managing to bf so far. She lost 10.7% of birth weight so had to stay in for a night, weight loss now 10.1 and she's feeding like a demon. Need a thread like this to stop me from falling asleep on her!

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 25/10/2012 00:44

Hi elvis, congratulations on your little one and welcome [hsmile]

goat it was pretty tasty, not as good as the massive slice of coffee & walnut cake I'd had in the cafe though. I also had a blackberry & apple torte in cafe Nero once I met my DSis..all in all a lot of cake was consumed in quite a short space of time!

Just got back home & trying to get babylump to sleep, I made choc chip cookies earlier so sat with a mug of milk and a big pile of cookies to munch on. Yum [hgrin]

NervousAt20 · 25/10/2012 00:47

Marking place Smile

Thanks for the new thread tea

They all sound yum MrsN of your sharing ill have some cookie dough pop tarts Wink

Aw clum hope you and baby both feel better soon

Welcome elvis and congratulations

I did post last night but lost it somewhere so gave in lol. Just finishing first feed of the night and praying we go every 2 hours again like last night. Had DD weighed today and she's gained 30z and I'm so chuffed I was worried about her not feeding and getting enough and feel much more confident with breast feeding now

Hope you ladies all get easy nights just off to change and explosive napoy then hopefully some sleep!!

Susieloo · 25/10/2012 01:04

First feed of the night and second attempt to put him back in his cot.

We has some success with a bottle today now that I've moved on to faster flowing tears but he did start coughing/choking a couple of times which scared me stupid, he was much better on the second attempt though until he decided he wanted booby milk (as 6 year old dss calls it) and then got very [hangry] until I fed him, he wanted the comfort of bf I think not just food, will try again tomorrow.

goat don't think I did like frittata but really wanted to because I know it was nice!!

Arghhhhh babyloo not settling and this feed is normally the easiest!! Also there is nothing to eat on the house and I am ravenous!!!

Hope some sleep being had by all [hsmile]

MrsNPattz · 25/10/2012 01:08

Wow busy thread!

First feed here, he went down at about 9 and I went to bed at about half past. So got a couple of hours at least. After 3 days without poonamis we had 3 in the space of a few hours this evening! Hv suggested trying cooled boiled water which I did, so not sure if that helped.

nervous help yourself, they are wonderful [hgrin]

goat glad you are ok - I know the feeling!

Smicha · 25/10/2012 01:14

Hello again, I've been reading all the posts the last few nights but sleepy eyes were just too tired for typing! Last night was a pain, wide awake baby keen on puking everywhere...I'm hoping tonight will be better!

Loving that we're on to food porn already!O had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy and am supposed to be taking it easy on the sugar now as I stand a greater chance of developing type two diabetes now, but I'm really failing!! Especially as sugary treats help relieve the tiredness! My sister got me a jar of smiles from Thorntons to help me through any tough patches, which is basically a jar of giant chocolate buttons with smiley faces [hsmile] She has instructed me to eat one every time things feel a bit too much!

My parents were just here for a few days and it was so lovely! My mum has washed everything in sight and my dad provided constant baby cuddles so I could get things done - he didn't even mind being sick on in town so I could get some new tops as mu current wardrobe isn't very bf friendly! I wish they lived closer [hsad]

Uh oh, just heard a poonami... Better go!
