*poor love

Goatbongosanonymous · 05/11/2012 05:18

funch Grin at blobs, you really made me laugh!

mrsn four hours is fab!

mummyv susie and minipop hope you are all back in the land of Nod, along with your LOs.

I got given a sleepy mouse! Now I know what they look like.

My nighttime necessities are my iPad, large glass of water, dressing gown, biscuits...

Goatbongosanonymous · 05/11/2012 05:22

Oh, and first major Kid-related expense thatisn't directly for him. Today he grabbed my glasses off my face and hurled them across the room. Now they don't fit any more. I could do an AIBU here - as in, AIBU for my first thought not to be 'oh no, there goes £200' but 'hooray, he has finally started to use his hands to grasp things!'

Evilwater · 05/11/2012 05:25

First feed of the night, and he is BF! OMG.
Evil.

funchum8am · 05/11/2012 05:37

evil nice one! Hope you have been able to get a lot of sleep in.

goat nightmare about the glasses! I have a fear of that happening - must check where my spare pair is lurking.

My nighttime kit is charged phone + charger, bottle of water, tub of cereal bars and stash of muslins. I also keep my kindle handy so I can read an improving book but always end up on MN instead!

Good luck everyone for the last stretch - think I am up for the day at work now unfortunately.

MummyV18 · 05/11/2012 05:37

Lol at the glasses evil

Envy evil I think in on feed 6 now Sad

No sleepy mice in this house. I get half hour then he cries

MummyV18 · 05/11/2012 05:50

Blush oops pretty much dropped baby J back onto his cot. Not what you would call a smooth transition. Thankfully he's still asleep though so I'm ........

As I type this he's woke up again Sad

Smicha · 05/11/2012 05:57

Funch I thought blobs must be your pet name for them! Smile Hope your day at work goes well and LO takes a bottle.

goat what does a sleepy mouse look like?! Oh and my first thought would also be about my broken glasses! YANBU!

evil that's a great sleep stint!

My night time essentials are phone, muslins (I appear to have 5 in bed with me tonight! Confused), water and breast pads which I try to stick in my pyjamas at 5am leak time but they inevitably fall out (stopped wearing a bra for bed after the mastitis incident) and I end up soggy! I also have a book by the bed, which I intend to read most nights but it has not been opened since ds was born Blush

I have a question, what does your lo wear to sleep in now it's getting cold? I've currently got ds in long sleeved vest, babygro and grobag. His body feels warm enough when he wakes, but his little cheeks and hands are cold and I'm wondering if I need another layer. Can a blanket be used with a grobag or is that not recommended?

MummyV18 · 05/11/2012 06:08

I've thought the same thing smicha baby J wearers the same (vest, sleepsuit, grow bag) seems warm but I've wondered about a blanket too but scared about over heating him

MrsNPattz · 05/11/2012 06:40

Second feed here so got another couple of hours. Not sure if its up time but I don't really mind if it is cause we are having a lazy day. funch hope work goes ok.

My night time essentials are phone, pillows for feeding, dressing gown, water and snacks, muslin.

goat oh no about your glasses! My little man pulled my glasses off a couple of weeks ago so I'm dreading when he can do it on purpose and throw things lol he also pulled my nose stud out so will have to watch that!

MrsNPattz · 05/11/2012 06:41

Oh and smicha strangely me and hubby just had the same conversation - I think he is ok at the moment but as it gets colder I might put a cardigan on as well?

Smallgreenone · 05/11/2012 06:41

Ugh no sleepy mice here at all Sad don't know if its his tummy or his blocked nose but he hasn't settled at all not even on me. DH disappeared into the spare room with the promise of helping this morning but surprise surprise he's nowhere to be seen.
Thanks everyone for the kellymom website recommendations I'll have a look at it when I can see again and make sense of information. Too tired for now.

Susieloo · 05/11/2012 07:58

smicha I have run the gauntlet with regard to what babyloo wears to bed, there are whole threads on the subject started by me after endlessly doing the blanket dance all night. I've tried him in grow bags and no success and always worried about the cold arms but the gro company have just bought out the gro suit which is designed to go under the gro bag or you have the pur flo sleep sacs which are great for sensitive skin and they come with detachable arms. Babyloo wouldn't take to a gro bag so I settled on a walk in sleeper from mothercare which is basically a sleep suit baby gro that is 2.5 tog so no blankets needed, when we are at home he wears a long sleeve vest underneath and when we are at my mum and dads he wears a babygro underneath, it tells you on them what they should wear underneath although I have complained to mothercare about the wording because its confusing. There is also a guide on the mothercare site that tells you how many blankets babies should have according to room temperature. I may write my own book on the subject soon such is my exhaustive knowledge on the subjectGrin

We were up at ten to seven after back to bed at five so not a bad night.

Breakfast this morning has just arrived from my dad, beans on toast with brown sauce (cold toast loads of butter) and the beans have been in the pan for ages so they go all mushy and the sauce thickens up-perfect, have I told you I love staying here.........Smile

MrsNPattz · 05/11/2012 12:21

Little man has had two big vomits this morning and got himself into a right state. I'm a bit worried - is it normal to be sick that much?

missingmymarbles · 05/11/2012 13:30

Not a bad night but so tired couldn't see straight to read thread so just catching up now Smile

Fed at 1.35 and 4.45ish and then up fur the day at 7.30. I love sleepy mice Grin

Smicha, It's 17 in Missmarbles room; she has long sleeved vest baby gro, sleeping bag and depending in tog, blanket. Babycentre have a good guide on their website too.

Yay for grasping, eek for grasping glasses, Goat.

I have a dreadful memory at the minute, so sorry for not name checking further. See you later

Susieloo · 05/11/2012 18:34

How is baby npatz? Any more sickness?

We are on last feed before bed and I am going with him, babyloo has changed his latch and both nipples are getting really sore!! Feel like he's a newborn again, has this happened to anyone else? Teething?

I'm saying last feed before bed but he had a long nap and didn't wake up until half four and seems remarkably awake!!

Hope everyone has a visit from the sleepy mice and scattering sleepy dust as I go, see you all in the early hours!Smile

MrsNPattz · 05/11/2012 19:57

Well I have had a horrible day! After sicking up 2 feeds this morning little man just was not himself, he was crying all the time even when changing his nappy which he usually likes, when he fed he would take 5 mins if that and then fall asleep, and he was even agitated and crying in his sleep, his tummy was hard and he didn't wee for a while Sad I was going to phone NHS24 if he didn't get any better, after speaking to health visitor, but he is a lot better in himself now, is taking more milk and is weeing. I gave him some cooled boiled water as I was really worried about dehydration. I am exhausted from all the worry Sad just very happy to see a smile from him tonight Smile

Thanks for asking susie

Goatbongosanonymous · 05/11/2012 20:29

mrsn so sorry about your worrisome day. Sounds like your LO had a bit of the bug that is going round - really horrible for you both. Glad to hear he is feeling better though, hope you are too!

Thanks for the info on bed gear susie that's really helpful. I didn't know about the walk-in sleepers, the wadded one sounds ideal for my little ninja. I am going to try it.

If you want to know what a sleepy mouse looks like, I have put a photo on my profile...

MummyV18 · 05/11/2012 20:41

Glad to hear LO is feeling a bit better npattz I hope you both get a good nights sleep to help with recovery.

Smicha · 05/11/2012 21:42

Thanks all for the info on sleepwear! susie you could write a chapter on this in some forthcoming mn book I'm sure! I too like the idea of a walk in sleeper to keep his arms warm.

goat that is such a cute picture! Smile I want a sleepy mouse!

mrsn what a rough day. Glad to hear things have improved though. small I hope your Lo is feeling better too.

I'm in bed nice and early as dh is away with work for the night so PILs are staying to keep me company and they've done all the cooking, tidying and comforting ds during fussy time, so all that's left for me to do is sleep...although ds is not sounding settled at all. Lots of grunting and squeaking so I expect we will be up again very, very soon.

TeaandHobnobs · 05/11/2012 22:10

MrsN what a worrying day! I agree with Goat, there's definitely a lot of bugs about - lots of my antenatal thread babies are unwell with one thing and another at the moment. Glad he seems a bit better, and that you got a smile Smile

DS is still asleep in his car seat following the drive back from my parents' (where I left my flipping phone, argh! Angry) - I can't decide how long to leave him before I wake him to change him for bed... I've got stuff I ought to do like hang up nappies to dry and clear the crap from the lounge for the cleaner who is coming tomorrow, as I need to go out by 10am so if I leave it til the morning it may not get done in time.... But I can't be arsed...

At least the face/tooth pain has improved a bit today - I'm now taking paracetamol inbetween my ibuprofen, although I'm not convinced it is making a difference.

Fingers crossed for sleepy nights all round.

mrsn sorry to hear your LO was ill, that sounds worrying and you must be very relieved he is looking better now.

Work was fine, though some dodgy stuff has happened with one team member,it is all ok now. DM brought babyfunch in once for a feed and everyone cooed over her loads (dd, not my mum...)! Lots of challenges await wen I go back but nothing I can't handle hopefully. babyfunch also took more from the bottle for DM so we may be close to cracking that now.

I am knackered though and went to bed before 8 but couldn't sleep til 9, and now DD is awake again and feeding. Really need those sleepy mice to come visit! Good luck everyone for the night ahead!

Smicha · 05/11/2012 23:14

As expected, we were up again by 10.30! Mini smich will not go longer than 2 hours between feeds at the minute, I swear he was better at sleeping when he was newborn! Just did a big feed and he dropped off on my knee... Dreaded transfer time now!

Hope you are all fast asleep!

missingmymarbles · 05/11/2012 23:19

I was falling asleep in the chair so came up to bed about 8. Missmarbles sleeping by 7, although I had to bath get at 6.20 to eek it out to then, as she was tired too. She woke me st 10.45 with gurgling on the monitor, and greeted me with kicking legs and grinning when I came in here. She's gone straight back to sleep when feeding but I hope she stays settled at transfer and then for a reasonable length of time.

Sorry you've had a rubbish day, MrsN; it's so worrying when they're ill, or even if you just think they might be brewing something Sad Hope he's ok again in the morning.

Tea hope your tooth settles down soon. It's rubbish feeling under the weather and not being able just to veg.

I admire those if you doing your KIT days. I don't even want to think about work Sad but I don't want to go back to the same department. I've applied for another job so hopefully any KIT days I do might be there instead. Closing date not til end of this week though, so we 'll see...

MummyV18 · 05/11/2012 23:45

Sounds like similar things happening all round. I'm getting really fed up with it.

Put baby J down at 7.50 he woke at 8.50 and was back down for 9

I went to bed at 9.30 only for him to wake at 11.30!!!! I've just put him back down and he's woke again Sad

Surely he should be better than this at 20 weeks??? I've even fed him some more formula today as I was starting to think I wasn't giving him enough food with breast milk as my boobs never seem full but now I'm not so sure.
