Welcome all to a shiny new thread for moral support during night feeds, general food envy and chit chat Grin

mrsn sorry you've had a horrible day with lots of worry, glad your LO is feeling better now though

marbles good luck with the job application

Second feed here, babyN took aged to settle after her last feed and doesn't seem to be going more then 2 hours between feeds, sometimes it's less. I normally come to bed early and DP keeps LO downstairs so j can sleep but we all had an early night so I think ill be shattered tomorrow now

Hope your all getting lots of sleep

NervousAt20 · 06/11/2012 01:16

LO doesn't seem to want to sleep tonight Sad we need an emotion with tears

funchum8am · 06/11/2012 01:18

Good luck with the job missmarbles. I realise I am a bit overkeen about my career, RL friends regularly tell me so. I. Lucky to have found a job I enjoy plus a DH who wants to be a sahd, or at least the main carer.

Babyfunch is up again but at least put 2 hours between feeds because I waited for her to be awake enough to feed from both 'blobs' (!) last time. I need to accept that feeds are longer that way but fewer.

smicha and mummyv am sending you that sleepy dust!

Susieloo · 06/11/2012 01:29

2nd feed of the night over here with a random feed at half ten and then now, sounds like a few rubbish nights going on. We will be up again at the dreaded 4 I would think now-oh good!!!!

Susieloo · 06/11/2012 01:30

Lovely picture goatSmile

Smicha · 06/11/2012 02:02

Getting bored of night feeds!! Someone please tell my chubby baby that he will survive if he sleeps for more than two hours without food!! Smile

Sounds like they're all behaving in the same way tonight...I wonder how they manage to get the memo round to each other that tells them how to behave. If only we could intercept it, we'd be prepared!

MummyV18 · 06/11/2012 02:08

Well up again Sad

What do you do funch? (If you don't want to answer that I understand) when do you return?

I can't say I love my job but it pays ok and is very close to home. Still debating whether to return after 39 weeks when SMP runs out or to take the full 52 weeks off or in fact if I return at all????

MummyV18 · 06/11/2012 02:09

Ha ha yeah smicha we need to stop this organised crime lol

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 06/11/2012 02:28

Hello can I join you? DS is 3 days old and has a general aversion to sleeping at night so far! I've had about 40 minutes sleep since 7pm. Had forgotten just how hard it is at night - during the day the tiredness is easier to handle.

Smallgreenone · 06/11/2012 02:51

Hi all, rubbish nights all round then, ugh I also now have another cold so feel spectacularly rubbish and miserable. Baby small did a huge poo earlier so think his tummy is better, nose still blocked but I may as well accept that seeing as he'll most likely get this cold too. Sad
I definitely don't want to go back to work. DH says we need to win the lottery or I have to have another baby..........buying lots of lotto tickets!

Smallgreenone · 06/11/2012 02:54

Also my left boob hurts and is hard in one area. Wondering now if it could be mastitis? Other symptoms are achey, freezing, sore throat.

funchum8am · 06/11/2012 02:58

Welcome madamegazelle it's good fun on here!

I am a secondary school teacher but the best bit of my job is being head of a faculty (humanities); though I do like the classroom side I love leading my teaching team and helping teachers improve. The negative stuff is increasing as you can probably tell from the media but I do still love what I do.

Babyfunch is feeding again and swallowing loads of air and being weird - I hope the bottle hasn't confused her!
If someone can break the communication lines of the baby syndicate they deserve a medal...chuckling at 'organised crime'!

funchum8am · 06/11/2012 03:00

small I have never had mastitis but that sounds like it from what I have read - I'd get straight to the doc tomorrow and get checked out if you can. Huge sympathies it sounds horrible whatever it is :(

MrsNPattz · 06/11/2012 03:10

Thank you for all of your wishes guys, little guy seems ok - it's mummy who has woken up with a streaming and stuffy nose! It never ends Confused

First feed here after he went down at 11, I woke at 2 with my nose but then fell back to sleep til now.

It's pouring down outside!

Welcome madam

Sorry there are more rubbish nights, the babies have definitely been talking lol

daisychain76 · 06/11/2012 03:41

Evening/morning all, been up since 2.30 as ds was spectacularly sick over me justwhen l was thinking l might get him back down. Hate it when that happens cos l know he?ll be hungry again in 10 mins.

NervousAt20 · 06/11/2012 03:47

Thrd feed here, praying baby will settle straight away l, my eyes feel like sand paper

Waves at madam Smile

Goatbongosanonymous · 06/11/2012 03:55

Welcome madamegazelle

Not a horrendous night until this feed, then Kid has been ridiculously squirmy and gulpy so now has horrible wind. Obviously he and baby funch have decided on a splinter group from the Starlight Barking.

So sorry to hear about the different ailments Sad it's hard enough when we're in the best of health. Hope you all feel better soon and that you get some support for a bit of a recuperation break.

Glad the KIT day went well funch for both you and baby funch. I spent yesterday trying to finish a paper for a 5pm deadline while Kid sprawled on me asleep. One-handed research takes longer, I have discovered!

TurquoiseCat · 06/11/2012 04:00

Hi all - thanks for all the kind thoughts! We've had a couple of good nights with BabyCat, but now we're back to normal! We've also had the added delight of green poops again, so that's something to keep an eye on.

Only done a bit of thread catch up, but sorry to hear about illnesses Sad. I'll try to catch up a bit more before posting again Smile.

Smicha · 06/11/2012 04:03

Third feed here too! Not even an hour and a half of sleep. Grrr.

Hi madam and congratulations! Welcome to the thread, hope it keeps you sane!

small unfortunately that sounds very much like mastitis to me. I'd get some antibiotics if you can and feed, feed, feed or express lots. I feel your pain!

MummyV18 · 06/11/2012 04:07

Waves at madam

daisy I sympathise with you I've been up since I last posted which I think was 2.30ish baby J just won't settle

funch glad you live your job Smile I have a lot to do with teachers. Most of my friends/family are in the profession & I find its about 50/50 with loving it or hating it. I went to uni with the aim to teach but after small session within a school I think the behaviour side of it would have me rocking in a corner before too long so I never did the training. Maybe being a parent will toughen me up and I can try again lol Grin

Susieloo · 06/11/2012 04:08

Babyloo is like clockwork now with this four o clock feed!! He does seem fairly sleepy though which is an improvement on last night but no idea why he's been up so much tonight, really need another couple of hours. Praying he doesn't go for a big poonami now and will go straight back to sleep.

Ameybee · 06/11/2012 05:16

2 hourly feeds here too :(! I'm knackered! Think I'm getting run down from the lack of sleep! Now have nasty eye infection! Washing my hands every 5 mins so kids don't get it!! It's just one thing after another here!

Fingers crossed everyone gets a bit more sleep! Xxx

missingmymarbles · 06/11/2012 05:26

We've been up a few times too. Seems like the same pattern as Babyloo, Susie Grin at organised crime, frustrating thought it is. Someone needs to tell my chubby baby the same thing, Smicha!Grin

I do enjoy my job generally, just not that particular department. Thanks for the well-wishes with the application.

Small, you wouldn't necessarily have a sore throat with mastitis so it could be a cold but you might have mastitis as well if that makes senseSad Go to docs though and get it sorted quickly. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Turquoise, we're still having a few green poos too. I read that it may be she's getting too much forrmilk and not enough hind milk which would make sense as she messed around at the boob something chronic the other day but both feeding and nappies improved a bit yesterday. I think I'm going to ring HV today though.

Welcome and congratulations, MadameSmile Yes, for some reason, the tiredness is easier to deal with when the sun comes up.

Ok, Missmarbles sleeping again. I'm frozen and going for the transfer...

Smicha · 06/11/2012 05:29

Fourth feed!! This is looking like being a 5 feed night and I have to be up to take the car to the garage at 8.30. Not happy. I tried using Ewan to get him back to sleep but he was having none of it. What has got into them all tonight?!

funchum8am · 06/11/2012 05:33

susieloo good luck poonami dodging; DH is changing a wet babyfunch as I type this. Sorry to hear of your eye infection ameybee, get well soon.

mummyv the behaviour thing takes a few years to sort and there will always be some pupils who are troublesome but if you are in the right school for you it is a great job. No two days are the same which I love, and the time just flies. And there are some hilarious moments. The worst thing is marking....I HATE marking with a deep passion, but it has to be done.

Feeding yet again here - Kid and she are definitely in league, goat! Chuckling at your one-handed research :)
