Welcome all to a shiny new thread for moral support during night feeds, general food envy and chit chat Grin

Awake at much the same time as normal despite late night.

Cake sounds great VSmile

susie and Heff, DH also a bit rubbish with tiny baby stage. Stresses when she cries, thinks only o can sort it. Much better this time around though, and I'm more accepting of level of capability Grin

Ok. Going to attempt transfer and hope we can get to st least 6 before we're up again.

Ameybee · 04/11/2012 03:01

Oh no vicky - hope you DH is better for tomorrow. That tummy bug is getting everywhere - our 3 year old had it last week which was total nightmare!

We also have pingy open eyes here! Typical when I'm so tired and CAN sleep tonight after last nights random insomnia! How can they be so asleep on boob then wide awake?! He's been smiling away at me little tinker!

Susie - can totally sympathise with you on the annoyance about DH and his wine drinking then sleeping! My DH told me he was 'tired' the other week after staying up till 3am with my brother drinking when I'd taken both kids to my mums for night, needless to say I hit the roof!!!

Currently trying to feed this little monkey back to sleep! Typical that last night was his best night yet n I couldn't sleep!!

Hope everyone gets some sleep! Xx

Smallgreenone · 04/11/2012 03:46

susie I'm with you on the napping after wine anger! DH did it to mo once and made me very cross, he has never repeated this mistake!!
After what seemed like forever baby small slept through the fireworks but everytime one went off I jumped thinking it would wake him so had quite a tense night! He's done we'll though tonight after his dream feed and am hoping we get to 6/7 now.
Scattering sleepy dust to all.

Susieloo · 04/11/2012 04:04

Well we got to four which is not what I hoped for and really need him to go until at least six now, eyes are stinging, I'm also starving because I have started having my tea so early because babyloo is a bit of a handful between 5 and bedtime, might make myself scrambled eggs on toast with loads of butter and salt for breakfast.

funchum8am · 04/11/2012 04:28

Weird night here, babyfunch has fed to.sleep as usual then cried 2 mins after being put down every time, then been a little bit sick each time I have picked her up. She might do this once on a normal night but every attempt at transfer has panned out like this tonight so she is now asleep on me and I am nervous to try again!

Have been entertaining myself with a thread on here about weird things people have had happen to them at other people's houses - I recommend it if you are up for a long time. It is on MN Classics (sorry I don't know how to link from my phone!).

missingmymarbles · 04/11/2012 04:54

6 Ha! My @r5£! However 4.30 is not that abnormal.
And little annoys me more than DH discussing tiredness or sneaking off for a snooze.

NervousAt20 · 04/11/2012 04:58

Hope your all getting some sleep, sorry I haven't name checked, j will do in the morning when I hopefully feel more human

Quick Q babyN poos tonight have been slightly greeny, is this normal? Should I worry? Thanks

MrsNPattz · 04/11/2012 05:30

Well after 'spewgate' little fella didn't settle until after midnight, but we just got 5 hours so that kind of makes up for it. Could do with more though - here's hoping!

Vicky cake sounds beautiful - well done you! Hope you have an amazing day - you deserve it.

Evilwater · 04/11/2012 05:45

Been feeding baby evil on and off for over two hours. This is the first time I've had to type.

We were doing so well, a feed at 1 then at 6.
Now I'm just waiting for him to sleep, he sleeps for about 5 mins then wakes up for 20. To make things worse, I'm out of chocolate.
Evil

BabylonPI · 04/11/2012 06:31

Hi all, better night tonight Grin

Ds gone from 11.30 til 6am which is good - praying it continues!!!

DD had a great birthday thanks goat Grin

Goatbongosanonymous · 04/11/2012 06:45

Well, the vocal commentary lasted all night

Not yelling or crying, just a running doubtless informative thread. I picked him up, he thought I couldn't hear him very well so upped the volume. Put him down, he started a disco and I swear was singing along. Tried car seat, got an oration on the indignities of such things. Even managed to keep chatting During feeds.

I dread to think what will happen hen he starts talking properly!

Goatbongosanonymous · 04/11/2012 06:46

Argh, sorry for typos. Am a little exhausted...

Susieloo · 04/11/2012 06:50

We are up and I am totally knackered, between babyloo, nightmares and being angry at dp I feel like I've barely sleptSad.

nervous a couple of greeny poos are ok (this is based on me asking my gp at our six week check, dr google and asking the hv at babyloo's weigh in clinic). If your concerned though give your hv a call tomorrow, I find them very reassuring!!

Horrible when you run out of chocolate evil I keep hiding little stashes away from dp and dss.

I've just had a coffee so waiting for that to kick in, glad there were a couple of good nights around, I've started fantasising about my first eight hour sleep, this probably won't happen until babyloo is old enough to stay overnight at his grandparents, nice to dream though!!

Happy Sundays everyone, somehow everything seems a bit more manageable when the sun comes up!!

Smicha · 04/11/2012 07:11

Sounds like there were some good sleeps for some last night, well done babies!

I've been too tired to post until now. Ds is doing his favourite night time routine of short sleeps then short feeds
Angry And dh has been as much use as a chocolate teapot! Whinged when I woke him yesterday morning to take ds off me so I could shower, didn't help with fussy time at 5pm (aside from suggesting we just leave him to cry and see if he stopped...I think he was joking!), when I finally put ds to sleep he got him up as he was skyping his brother and his dcs wanted to see ds, then disappeared off to bed in the spare room just before the pre-bed nappy change, having prattled on about how tired he is and that work is really taking it out of him and that he doesn't get to lie in bed watching tv all morning when he's tired Angry I hope yesterday was a blip or I will not be held responsible for my actions if he's the same today.

Also had a horribly draining day yesterday as of the friends who came for lunch, one announced her pregnancy and another told us she had just miscarried. And there I was with my shiny new baby! Mix of sad and happy emotions, combined with my hormones and a pita dh made for an odd day all round.

What a ranty, negative post! I'm not usually so angry but needed to vent.

Susie I know what you mean about the sun though, I feel ok once it is light and the rest of the world starts to wake up too so I have hope that today will be a better day!

Smicha · 04/11/2012 07:24

Funch I've never come across MN classics before - thank you for making my morning so much fun! Trying to get ds to drop back to sleep but I keep laughing out loud and startling him Grin Just what I needed!

BabylonPI · 04/11/2012 07:31

Susieloo only just read about your tired DH AngryAngry

How frustrating for youSad

We have a 'rule' here that means we don't compete in tiredness stakes because I'd always win, obviously and if its alcohol related tiredness/hangover - then best just not to mention it as sympathy will not be forthcoming BlushGrin

NervousAt20 · 04/11/2012 08:10

Thank you susis ill keep an eye on it today and if we have anymore ill give them a ring. I hope there open on Sundays

goat seems like youcould have a little chatter box on your hands. Hope you get some sleep today

Sorry to hear about annoying DHs susie and smicha it would be awful if they really are that tired and a screaming ratty baby "accidentally" woke them up Grin disclosure i am a nice person

Have a great day today vicky enjoy your Sunday roast ad don't forget to share your cake around later tonight Wink it sounds yummy

Hoping BabyN will settle after this feed I'm still shattered and don't warn to wake DP up as he went downstairs with her for almost 2 hours at 1am because she was just awake so I could sleep

It's my LOs due date today Grin she's 16 days old

MrsNPattz · 04/11/2012 09:44

We got another two hours Yey and instead of being woken up by crying I was woken by his little happy noises which was lovely. goat sorry it wasn't so lovely for you - sounds like you really do have a little chatterbox!

evil you better stock up on more chocolate supplies today young lady haha Grin

That's a great night babylon Smile

susie I too dream of that 8 hours...........

smicha sorry you have had an unsupportive hubby too - not nice. I have a friend who has had lots of miscarriages, and they have now decided to stop trying and it's just so difficult that I have little fella - my heart breaks for them.

funch I love MN classics too!

Happy due date nervous lol

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 04/11/2012 10:28

funch that thread was the first one I ever read from start to finish, despite it being a million pages long, it made me cry laughing! Grin Love classics, I agree great way to pass the night!

smicha that must have been a difficult visit for you all, your poor friend :( Makes you realise how lucky we all are with our precious little cuddley screamy pukey pooey bundles doesn't it.

Enjoy today mummyv, especially that yummy sounding cake!

goat your post made me laugh, kid certainly sounds like a little chatterbox!

babylon that's a good rule to have, it's difficult not to fall into the "you think youre tired?!" trap sometimes but its never helpful. I try not to jump down DHs throat when he says he's tired just mutter under my breath instead although my 18yo DSis did make me Hmm yesterday after surfacing from her 5 hour daytime nap still complaining of how truly exhausted she was!

Happy due date nervous!

We had a good night :) babylump settled on the boob not too long after they got home, I found Hot Fuzz showing on tv so settled down to enjoy some of the funniest lines in film history (maybe just my opinion!) and we got to bed at half 1, slept to half 5, DD1 woke up at 8 (a minor miracle in itself!) and babylump woke at half 9 Grin

DH and DD1 have gone into town for breakfast and to get the car valeted as we're hopefully going new (well, second hand!) car shopping later. I'm in bed with babylump listening to Steve Wright and enjoying baby snuggles :)

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. Last Downton tonight :(

Smicha · 04/11/2012 11:49

Think dh was aware he was out of order (he is usually supportive) and perhaps he did need the sleep as after a good 8 hours he is a different person and brought me tea to bed, took ds while I had a leisurely shower (I had time to use nice conditioner!) and has done all nappies so far today feeling guilty for moaning about him

Have a great christening mummyv and hope there's some virtual cake left for us all to share during tonight's feeds!

I killed my phone battery reading MN classics earlier! Love it!

MrsNPattz · 04/11/2012 13:28

susie speaking of nightmares, I just had a sleep while hubby had little fella and I had a really horrible dream (not quite a nightmare) that hubby met someone else and wanted to leave me but couldn't decide whether to because of the little fella Sad was horrible and so real Sad

heff glad you had a good night!

Remind me, how old are all of our babies? Little man is 7 weeks today.

Susieloo · 04/11/2012 14:17

Horrible dream heff and yes they are so real aren't they, I scared dp half to death the other night by half waking up and shouting at him that he was squashing the baby!! Babyloo was safely in his cot and we haven't co slept since he was 3 days old so no idea why I thought he was in our bed, I had another nightmare after my first truly terrifying one that loads of spiders were biting my feet and they swelled up like clown feet!!

Smallgreenone · 04/11/2012 18:36

No!! Not the last Downton that's awful Sunday nights will not be the same- or Monday afternoons actually as I normally fall asleep before it starts!
Hope today went well mummyv
Baby small is 10 weeks today *mrsn^
He hasn't slept well at all today so am a bit apprehensive about tonight. Also the gaviscon has worked a treat on the reflux but his poo has gone harder and am worried if I keep using it he will get constipated not sure what's worse Confused will ring hv tomorrow

MummyV18 · 04/11/2012 19:04

Evening all, have a bit of cake Smile

Well had a crappy night last night with little sleep & DH is still very poorly today.

The christening went very well & baby J was very well behaved Smile DH managed to make it to the christening but went home straight after. I had to then host the after bit by myself.

I know DH can't help being ill but I feel resentful that I've had to do it all by myself & couldn't spend time talking to family who travelled far coz I felt I needed to talk to DH parents so they felt included & DH friend who we asked to be god father as he doesn't know anyone.

Sorry for moaning I'm just tired I think coz I know it can't be helped its just Sod's law Sad

Baby J looked so cute & smart in his little outfit though :)

Glad your DH came round in the end smicha I do think going to work is so much easier lol but I don't think I could do FT work and get up during the night like this which I why I do all the night stuff (apart from the fact I bf lol)

I also sympathise with the friend situation my best friend is going through IVF and we are finding it really tough with me having baby J but we are getting through it. I feel guilty sometimes for moaning about lack of sleep etc but when your sleep deprived its tough

npattz baby J is 20 weeks old tomorrow

TeaandHobnobs · 04/11/2012 19:25

Nightmares are horrible, aren't they? I think they are connected to all the hormones we have in abundance from breastfeeding. I had a horrible one the other night - I dreamt DH and I travelled all the way to The Netherlands only to realise we'd left DS at home with no one to look after him Sad so horrible, still upsets me to think about it!

DS will be 28 weeks on Wednesday, 20 weeks corrected. We gave him some pear purée today, he seemed to like it!

I'm currently sitting in front of the Strictly results show sorting through all the clothes DS has grown out of so they can be packed away into storage.
