Welcome all to a shiny new thread for moral support during night feeds, general food envy and chit chat Grin

Morning all. Just too tired to post in the night.

I love lazy Saturdays Smile DD's and I all still in PJ's, DH not feeling wellSad so gone back to bed but we are watching foody programmes and he normally would be too, coz the weather's rubbish. Missmarbles is having her first nap of the day tucked into my neck - love thatSmile

Not a horrendous night. Down at 7, fed at midnight, 3.30 and 5.30. Settled not too badly, especially if I leant right into the cot really close to her til she settled. Then a lot of happy squeally gurgling at 7. DH got up and did nappy and she didn't ask for a feed til 8 apparently when he brought her to me; and then she messed around and did really feed that muchHmm

Sorry Minipop's not well, MiniSad Hope things improve soon. And also, thinking of you Turquoise. Hope there's an improvement at your next test.

Glad you're doing ok Goat. Halfway there now, eh? I, too, am jealous of Tea and Small seeing Skyfall Smile

I need to pursue the bottle thing more. I have some boob like ones ordered so hope that will work better. We might get a child-free night out if successful Wink

Read the bacon sarnie but too late, Susie, alasGrin Have had my porridge already. Besides can't really be bothered to cook bacon

Are you ok now, Daisy, or still feeling the effects? That's why DD1 was prem. Missmarbles (DD2) was born at 39+1, and is huge by comparison to DD1Grin!!! I took aspirin from 9 weeks and then had to start labetalol towards the end, because I had PIH but no preeclampsia, thank Goodness. It really is an evil disease, but may not be like that for you next time (if you decide for another Smile)

Thinking of the sleep deprived; truly awful. Hope you get rested up today and better sleeps tonight. Listen babies, let your mummies sleep!

Goatbongosanonymous · 03/11/2012 17:42

Ah yes Daisy the dreaded pre eclampsia - I too had this (HELLP syndrome) so Kid was 8 1/2 weeks early. Hope you are feeling better. My mum and grandmother both had it with the first too, and said it takes a while for things to settle.

Well, after dreading having Kid on my own we have had quite a nice time so far! Didn't sleep too badly, ended up getting up st 9:30 and having a lazy morning. Kid very active and smiley this afternoon so had a lovely time playing for a couple of hours. It makes such a difference that he does not imitate a baby koala 24/7 any more - I can do things like get some lunch! And eat it!!

daisychain76 · 03/11/2012 18:02

Thanks marbles and goat yes l am fine ~ things settled down quite fast after he arrived (despite a blip when someone made the decision to stop all bp meds straight after my c section Confused. I have got very well accquainted with lobetamol in the last coyple of months Smile, Showing my ignorance here, but what is HELLP symdrome?). It is really interesting to read you got to full term this tine marbles. I would like 1 more DC in a couple of years (have 3 now) but DH is taking the pre~eclampsia (which came out of the blue ~ l never had it with my other 2 and was supposed to be having a home birth) as a sign to stop.

MrsNPattz · 03/11/2012 18:37

Hi guys, tired day here - think those few bad nights caught up with me. I did some more cleaning this morning and we went to Tesco, then just as I was settled down to have a nap the in laws arrived Hmm so no nap again today, but I don't feel too bad now. Quiet night here (aren't they all Grin)

smicha glad you enjoyed the meet, I might have a look to see if there are any near me.

heff Yey for a good settle - I thought so Smile

goat glad things have gone well just the two of you!

I have eaten two packets of white fudge pretzels in 2 days Confused BiscuitBiscuitBiscuit I have also spent far too much money already!

Susieloo · 03/11/2012 18:39

Last feed before bed and am trying to stem my anger towards dpAngry he came home from work today and went to bed for three hours, he's tired because he stayed up till 1am drinking wine-it's such a hard life!!! Babyloo is just starting to get quite clingy so I think he takes this as a sign that he isn't wanted rather than making more of an effort to engage with him when he can. He is brilliant with dss and will admit that until babyloo can go to the park or play he feels redundant, he reminds me that when this time comes he will be able to give me some time back to myself, all very rational but really getting my goat (sorry goat) today (now need to know where that expression comes from)

And breathe ...................

I'm taking babyloo out for a walk tomorrow with his uncle who is down for a couple of days, hopefully that will blow away some cobwebs (sorry for all the random phrases!!!)

Oh and it's bonfire night here apparently and we appear to live near about five different organised events. And the mumsnet app on my iPhone is annoying me because its stuck so when you hit active it comes up with no mn stuff just the same four odd threads about side zipping trousers for one!

Right me and my bad mood will be off, hope all the poorly babies are feeling better and the knackered mummies have got some rest, see you all in the early hours when I will hopefully not have throttled dp (reckon the judge would let me off anyway due to extreme provocation!!) and will have calmed downSmile

Smallgreenone · 03/11/2012 18:40

Hi all, skyfall was brilliant Grin, a bit of Daniel Craig does wonders for the sleep deprived! We were out for 6 hours in total and I really missed baby small my boobs especially missed him! But I did love the big smile I got when we came home Smile.
Hope you get good hearing results at the next appt turqoise, must be such a worry.
Glad to hear you are getting on well this weekend heff. How's minipops today?
Currently trying to get baby small to sleep in the midst of fireworks banging away outside.

Goatbongosanonymous · 03/11/2012 19:47

daisy HELLP is when the liver packs up along with everything else. Not fun Confused

mrsn at the moment you are swapping sleep for pretzels, so I think you are still owed a few packets!

susie that sounds unbelievably frustrating - and of course the point is that you need moral support as well as direct assistance. (and if he has your goat he better return it soon! Grin ) hope you have a lovely Sunday.

small what a lovely break for you. Good luck in the midst of fireworks - I have a feeling we might take a while to settle here too, as Kid is doing his koala impression.

Susieloo · 03/11/2012 20:36

Arghhhhhhhhhh!!!! Enough with the fireworks!!!!!!! Feel like I'm in a war zone!!!!!!

MrsNPattz · 03/11/2012 21:09

goat I love your way of thinking Grin

Susie oh you poor thing, I would be really annoyed at hubby too! Your mumsnet comment made me laugh - I read the side zip trouser thread too lol

With you all on the fireworks too, shush!!!

MiniPopsMum2012 · 03/11/2012 21:13

Thanks daisy/Small and eveyrone for your wishes, he's still properly poorly, and we had another coughing induced projectile vomit incident, but he's still smiling in between.
I know this is stupid but I feel absolutely awful. People take the micky out of me for the amount of times I'm wiping his hands, to avoid germs, yet he's still managed to get really poorly, I feel like it's my fault. :(

Daisy My LO was born 10 weeks eary due to placenta previa and APH. There are a few premmie mums on here Grin Glad you got a good night, though :)

Who mentioned bacon? Grin Ahhh bacon, one of my favourite things. :)

Goat Glad you're time with LO is going well, getting lunch and eating it? I am impressed! I like days like that!

Susie My DP also gets my goat sometimes, always complaining about lack of sleep yet I can count on one hand hte number of night feeds he's done, and he sleeps with earplugs and eye mask Angry

The fireworks are also annoying me now, took me ages to settle Minipop, and now the fireworks keep waking him up, bah! Small Did you manage to get baby to sleep?

We had a rubbish night last night, didn't get much sleep at all. I am so tired, fingers crossed we get a more settled night today.

MummyV18 · 03/11/2012 21:29

Well everything is going tits up here Sad DH who has been out all afternoon at his grandparents has come home and is now sick. He's been in the bathroom being ill from both ends for the last 2 hours Sad

So now I'm looking after 2 babies plus we have baby J's christening tomorrow so lots of stuff to do.

I'm also thinking what if I get ill??? What happens then?? Baby J still needs looking after and DH is as useful as a choc fire guard atm

Plus baby J has woken up due to the loo being flushed every 2 mins Angry

Ps. Changed my name slightly incase anyone I know is on MN Smile

missingmymarbles · 03/11/2012 21:51

Bad moods all round then Angry We went out for tea; I didn't want to go knowing we would be Kate and I am just getting Missmarbles into a decent routine. "Oh no, not late" I was told; "only half an hour maybe". Ha! I've just out an overtired Missmarbles to bed nowAngry She had better stay settled and sleep well or heads will roll, as the saying goes. And, it better not impact on tomorrow either.

Breathe.......

I had HELLP too Goat. As you can imagine, this pregnancy was not without anxiety, but as I said, a bit of PIH, and a slight scary moment after she was born, then fine.

Shows how observant I am, hadn't noticed your name change til you said VGrin

Sending the Sleepy Mice in droves. Hope we all get bitten...
See you in the wee small hours!

MummyV18 · 03/11/2012 21:58

Lol Grin fun times

MrsNPattz · 03/11/2012 22:15

marbles oh dear! Hope you at least had something yummy while you were out!

vicky oh dear to you too! Hope you have plenty of help for tomorrow and that hubby gets better quick and that you don't catch it!! I'm sure it will be a lovely day whatever happens Smile are you having a party afterwards?

mini oh I totally understand about blaming yourself, but I also know that it really isn't your fault. You are doing so well, stay strong and I'm sure little one will be better before you know it.

I'm hoping this is the last feed before he goes down properly, I'm sleepy!

MummyV18 · 03/11/2012 22:55

Yeah we're going to a local pub npattz we were going to have a buffet but for not much extra we could have a Sunday roast so we are doing that as everyone loves a roast. Smile

I've made a fab cake too Grin I'm so proud of it

DH has decided to sleep down stairs to a) make sure he doesn't pass on his germs too much & b) to get a good nights sleep to fight off silly bug do hopefully he'll be alright in the morning

NervousAt20 · 03/11/2012 22:58

goat glad your enjoying your time alone with your LO

mummyv hope your DH feels better soon and you get lots of rest to ght for tomorrow. Have a great day tomorrow too

I'm so damn tired today only managed a half an hour nap. I really hope we don't have another bad night like las night otherwise ill cry Sad babyNjust does not want to settle and DP isn't back yet because of work Angry

Hope everyone gets lots of sleep tonight and babies all settle well with these annoying fireworks

funchum8am · 03/11/2012 23:02

Feeding here which is unusual at this time for us; usually babyfunch sleeps from 7ish til gone midnight so am hoping she goes til the small hours now.

Really sorry to hear about all the illnesses and goat-getting! I would be fuming too if DH took a 3 hour nap after going out on the vino!

My DH started on about having a 'funny tummy' this evening...I know thus is because his fragile system cannot cope with the proper Bradford curry we had last night...he claims it is down to not having enough sleep Hmm If that were true I would be far worse with it than him!

We had some success with the bottle - she took a little bit today for DH so later on DM tried it and also hot her to take a small amount. Now need to build it up to full feeds. heff I am sure you are right about others having more chance with it so will try and take some me time (ie nap time) when bottles are being given. I dream of handing over the 5am feed to DH completely!

Scattering sleepy dust for everyone!

MrsNPattz · 03/11/2012 23:40

Well I spoke to soon about hoping it was the last feed, about 5 minutes after I posted we had the most epic vomit I have ever seen - I think the whole of last weeks milk came back up while still on the boob. We had to change him, the bedding, and I had to have a shower and new pyjamas Confused this happened last week too, why does it happen?? Needless to say he was down for about 20 minutes before needing fed as obviously his poor tummy is empty. I'm shattered.

vicky that sounds lovely Smile what is your cake like?

BabylonPI · 03/11/2012 23:43

Well I'm here, just done last feed ( baby b not taking formula at all Hmm )
Fingers crossed for more than an hour and a halfs kip Smile

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 03/11/2012 23:48

Hi everyone, how's the night shaping up for you all so far? I'm sat up waiting for DH & babylump to get back from their walk. Bit annoyed, mostly at myself, as they've been out for about an hour and a half so I could have gone to bed but stupidly I didn't and now its too late as they'll be back soon and its worse waking up after 5 minutes sleep than just staying up. Stupid me will I ever learn?!

susie that does sound frustrating, my DH is a bit similar and with DD1 it upset me as I thought he wouldn't ever engage with her but once she got past the delicate new baby stage things improved loads and now she's 2 he's so fantastic with her I kind of allow for the fact he's just a bit rubbish with babies. Still get frustrated though when he hands her back after 2 minutes of crying though!

Just heard the door, and a screaming babylump, best be off so see you all later and hope those sleepy mice are doing their rounds.

MummyV18 · 04/11/2012 00:17

Hope you get LO settled & get some sleep heff

npattz I've only had that happen once and it's a right pain having to faff with bedding/ own clothes too Sad so I hope you manage to get sorted & get some sleep soon.

The cake is 10" sponge covered in white fondant icing. On the top I have made enough coloured building blocks out of icing to spell out baby J's name. Then wrote on top is 'on your christening'
Around the side of the cake there is blue ribbon & tiny blue baby feet. Then on the board I have wrote the date. Smile

Goatbongosanonymous · 04/11/2012 01:14

How do they do this?? Have just struggled to get Kid to dream feed, completely floppy and asleep, have tried a transfer and eyes are now pingy wide awake. Is currently attempting an aerobics circuit round the bed.Grrr!

minipop it is absolutely not your fault - these things happen no matter what. Your good mumness is in the very obvious love and care you give him.

mummyv wishing your DH a speedy recovery, and a wonderful day for you all tomorrow. The cake sounds amazing! Now try and get some sleep!

marbles so great to hear that this pregnancy was without major drama. What a relief for you. DH is a bit anti another at the mo as he is worried it will all happen again.

funch hurrah for the bottles, and here's to sleeping through the 5 am feed!

mrsn that sounds exhausting. Hopefully all will settle down for the rest of the night.

nervous and babylon sending sleepy mice your way ( babylon did your DD enjoy her birthday? Smile )

heff hope the screaming was momentary and you have all settled down to a lovely night's sleep!

Hmm. The aerobics circuit now has running commentary. A future fitness instructor? (please nooooo....)

Goatbongosanonymous · 04/11/2012 01:27

How is he doing this?? He's not even mobile yet!!

Susieloo · 04/11/2012 01:52

Hope kid settles down for you goat!

I am attempting a dream feed because I've been awake since half twelve, woke myself up having a nightmare, used to have them all the time but none since being pregnant or having babyloo, and haven't been able to go back to sleep since. He was starting to stir so I'm attempting this in the vain hope he will now go through until 5-6Grin

Hope everyone getting some rest, no more fireworks for a while thank goodness.,

funchum8am · 04/11/2012 01:53

Oh dear goat I hope the aerobics class is a short one!

heff has DD2 calmed down for you?

mummyv the cake sounds beautiful - I hope the christening goes really well and that your DH is fully recovered for it.

Feed 2 here - not bad, 2.5 hours since the last. I hope everyone gets some good sleep tonight as it sounds much needed for lots of us.
