Welcome all to a shiny new thread for moral support during night feeds, general food envy and chit chat Grin

Oh minipop that sounds pretty bad, hope you and Lo are ok. Sending hugs your way.

teasounds like the film was just what you needed to take your mind off the teeth! Think I'll have to wait for it on DVD as I missed the showing of it at the baby friendly cinema.

goat I don't think I suggested the car seat, but glad it worked! Hope your weekend is going well, I'm sure you'll cope just fine!

mrsn I've signed up for a massage class but there's no space until January so they must be popular! I'm lookig forward to it.
heff we seem to regularly have a screaming session from around 5pm where nothing will pacify him! I find it is worse on days where he hadn't really napped so I feel your pain!

Aside from the 5pm screams, we had a good day yesterday, went to an nct coffee morning for the first time and then ds and I braved the shops on our own for a while and he was really good! He even stayed calm while I popped into manic primark for some stretchy vests for bf!

I went to bed at 9.30 and have slept through until now as dh successfully gave him a bottle of expressed milk for the first time without screams Grin. Ds woke for a nappy but is back asleep now after a quick top up from me. I'm delighted!

Oh no, Ewan just beeped then stopped...batteries gone?! Poo.

Smicha · 03/11/2012 01:10

Cross post Funch, sorry your bottle didn't work! Didn't mean to gloat about mine!

Ameybee · 03/11/2012 01:20

Crazily frustrated. Still can't sleep. What's wrong with me - I'm exhausted beyond comprehension but just can't switch off? Laid crying as I'm going to feel terrible tomorrow. :( :(

NervousAt20 · 03/11/2012 01:25

pops your poor little man! That sounds awful what a horrible night for you both!! Really hope he feels better soon and you both get a good nights sleep

Good luck tonight goat hoping the sleepy dust reaches your house

BabyN is not having a good night tonight, have been at in laws today so she's been passed around like a parcel and poked and prodded by SILAngry so I knew we would have a difficult time because she never wants to be out down to sleep when she's been held for hours. So we feed at 11 then she refused to settle so were still up feeding again and I've had about 20min sleep Sad

Hope you all have a better night and Ewan works his magic for those that have him

MummyVicky18 · 03/11/2012 02:43

Oh amey do your best to clear your mind & relax. I suppose we're like babies really if we get over tired its hard to sleep.

We're back to our usual 1.5 hours again tonight.

MummyVicky18 · 03/11/2012 02:57

I've just put baby J down but he's woken up. I put him down a bit too soon as I heard a funny banging. DH also heard this banging & got up. We've looked outside to find someone banging on next doors door. We think its her grandson. Maybe he's locked out??

I hope my neighbour us just more deaf than I thought and she's ok coz the banging made us check it out

MrsNPattz · 03/11/2012 03:19

First feed here, hoping its an easy one Hmm

vicky glad you had a 'normal' few hours too, when is the christening?

daisy oh that's good to know - really looking forward to it and hoping I will meet some new people too.

goat hope you are doing ok with DH away - you will be great Smile

tea glad you enjoyed the film, I think we will be waiting until its on Sky box office!

mini oh poor little pops, and poor you - how awful. Hopefully he will be on the mend very soon, hope you get some rest.

heff hope transfer went well..... no posts for a while so maybe it did Grin

smicha yes I think they are popular - I luckily found a free one with spaces that starts when little fella is the right age!
How was your first NCT coffee meet?

amey oh it's horrible when you can't sleep - it takes me a while to get off at the moment and it's so frustrating. Hang in there - hope you are sleeping soundly now.

Right, is that everyone?? Lol

Smallgreenone · 03/11/2012 03:21

Oh minipops sounds nasty hope little one gets well soon. How scary for you and rotten to have a poorly one.
tea we are going to skyfall tomorrow/today and I can't wait!!! Our cinema is an hour away though so am apprehensive about leaving baby small and wondering how my boobs will cope?! Am going to express like mad in the morning.
Good luck on your own goat am sure you'll be absolutely fine.

funchum8am · 03/11/2012 03:35

Hope you are doing ok in DH's absence goat...I am sure you are doing great even if it feels like a trial.

smicha don't worry, I am delighted to hear the bottle battle can be won! How old is your LO and how long have you been trying with bottles?

mrsn that is one seriously impressive namecheck post!!

Susieloo · 03/11/2012 03:56

2nd feed and I was not woken by crying for food buy but by lovely coos and giggles, hope this doesn't mean it's morning........

Amey, really hope you got some sleep, there is nothing worse than not being able to sleep.

Babyloo asleep on me so looking good so far for transfer, will give him ten minutesSmile

TurquoiseCat · 03/11/2012 04:05

minipop how awful - I really hope mini minipop starts to feel a thousand times better instantly Sad.

amey Sad. I know it sounds weird, but I hope you cry yourself out - I find it quite cathartic and can normally sleep much better after a good cry.

I always feel like a fraud because BabyCat is very well behaved at night mostly - it's just during the day she's awful. We had a two hour screaming session this morning. Could not find out why to save my life and it was really emotionally draining.

Then this pm we had a four hour hearing test. Conclusion was that BabyCat's left ear might have hearing but not at the moment. So another hearing test in five weeks to see if her ear has matured enough for her to be getting sound signals and if she isn't then we'll have to have behavioural tests in the future to see if her hearing improves ever. To be honest I'm really gutted about the whole diagnosis because I'm expecting the worst and it really saddens me that BabyCat might have to struggle with this forever Sad.

NervousAt20 · 03/11/2012 04:08

Third feed of the night, by the time BabyN settled from her last feed I've had under 2 hours sleep Sad we have to be up and out early aswell tomorrow to get casts done of LOs hands and feet

MiniPopsMum2012 · 03/11/2012 04:43

Thanks everyone, just had our 4am feed - and another coughing induced projectile vomit incident. Pooel

Ameybee · 03/11/2012 04:43

Baby jakes had his best night yet - just woke for feeds n gone straight down n I've had 40 minutes sleep :( each time I've fallen asleep just before he's woken, as its taken me over 2 hours to nod off. I just can't understand how u can be so tired n not sleep! Hoping After this feed it doesn't take me so long, please! Thanks ladies x hope u all got more sleep than me! X

MiniPopsMum2012 · 03/11/2012 04:46

Poor minipop. :(

on phone so excuse bad typing...

ameyd hope you managed to get some sleep, susieloo I really hope it's not wake up time for you..

We're having a rubbish night, and sleep wise, but it's to be expected. Hospital say it can take weeks to clear - boo!

MiniPopsMum2012 · 03/11/2012 04:52

Turquoise really sorry to hear about babycat's hearing tests, fingers crossed for better results in the next test.

We have worries about Minipop's hearing so I know how worrying it is.

Smicha · 03/11/2012 04:57

Funch he's almost 6 weeks. It's only the fourth time we tried him with a bottle but the other times the screams were so bad the neighbours must have thought we were killing him! He took a full bottle with no issues tonight. I'll never figure him out!

We've had no sleep between the 3am feed and this one Sad I've got 6 people coming for lunch today too. As they all asked to come and see ds and they're all friends with each other I thought it easier to get them all out of the way at once see them together and make an event of it!

funchum8am · 03/11/2012 05:08

Cheers smicha it's great to hear they can suddenly just take a bottle. We are due to try for about the fourth time tomorrow...what are the chances of them doing it exactly the same way?!

turquoise sympathies about babycat's hearing test - I have everything crossed for a good result next time.

Feeding again and DH is staying up to keep me company, bless him. Babyfunch is hugely alert so I may be up til nap time now :(

Goatbongosanonymous · 03/11/2012 06:08

funch Sadabout already being up, so are we I think. Trouble is, those evening naps are really quite useful!

smicha great to hear you had a good day, even in Primark! Here's to many more...

amey nervous and vicky so sorry about lack of sleep, it makes it so hard to cope. And I think it all just ruins sleep patterns so easy falling asleep has to be relearned. We need sleep training as much as the babies!

tea and small am quite Envy about Skyfall. DH is seeing it this weekend and is under strict instructions not to breathe a word about content!

Turquoise so sorry about the hearing test. Here's really hoping for an all clear next time.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement for my solo flight. We have had quite a reasonable evening and night. Kid allowed me to put him down to get stuff done without screaming the house down (him not me!) and has slept in reasonable patches. An enormous improvement on most of the week, and means that my worst fears have not been realised. Today we are going to have a lazy day, as I think Kid is a bit overwhelmed by all the new things this week. I know I am! It also might be a deciding factor that there is a new Fox's selection box of biscuits just asking to be eaten...

MrsNPattz · 03/11/2012 06:35

Feeding again here and hoping its not up time just yet.

funch haha I am on my phone and have learnt the wonders of copy and paste so I can come back to the thread as I would no way remember you all otherwise Grin

turquoise really sorry about the hearing test - hope its good news at the next one.

Susieloo · 03/11/2012 06:43

MorningGrin

We are up so got another two hours which is not bad. We haven't tried babyloo on a bottle for a few days, going to give him a few days rest and try again. I'm not entirely convinced he's ever going to take one until he can hold it himself.

Right bacon sandwiches neededGrin

We are going up the road to see mil and fil and I might venture to Morrisons if the rain eases off.

Sorry to hear about the hearing test turquoise it must be worrying for youSad

NervousAt20 · 03/11/2012 07:01

Sorry turquoise I cross posted with you last time. I have my fingers crossed for your LOs next hearing test. These babies like to constantly worry us and keep us on our toes x

BabyN is up again, went just over 2 hours since last feed but spent ages trying to settle again Sad if she doesn't settle again DP will b getting a nudge in the ribs followed by "seems as your awake you may aswell get up with her and ill have another hour in bed exsist she's really unsettled" Grin. DP is brilliant bless him I know if I woke him up at anytime he would get up and do whatever he could

Smicha · 03/11/2012 07:56

turquoise sorry about the hearing test. Hope everything goes ok for you.

Funch and Susie I'll ask mini smich to tell your babies why he suddenly decided to take the bottle!

mrsn I really enjoyed the nct meet, nice to have a good natter with people in the same position. When dh got in from work I kept saying "one of the girls at nct said this and one said that and one recommends this and one recommends that" - it was like a RL version of this thread!

Well we are up for the day. My sister just called to say she's calling in to see us on her way home from the airport as her dp would like a sleep before they drive home...any excuse to see lo! In the past they'd have driven straight home! Does mean they'll be here in an hour, which works out well as they can look after ds while dh and I get ready for our guests.

HorridHeffalumpsWickedWoozles · 03/11/2012 08:20

Morning, not too bad a night (the transfer was successful mrsn!)and we got a nice three hour block til about half3, then she woke again at half 5 and half 7. Having breakfast now watching the weather hoping it'll be dry.

funch I'm sure you've already tried getting some one else to give baby funch a bottle but thought just in case I'd mention it, you smell too much of scrummy milk cuddles which she would prefer over a bottle so could distract her. I didn't give DD1 many bottles (useless at expressing!) but those she did have she was always so much better if grandma/auntie etc did it. Hope you have success eventually.

daisychain76 · 03/11/2012 08:51

Morning, hope your Lo is better today minipops. Yes, mine was 7 weeks early thanks to pre~eclampsia, so shouldn?t have been here for another week! Actually ended up with a good night. DH got back at midnight and stayed up til he settled at 3, then l was up at 5. Poor Dh is shattered tho.
