Hey ladies, here's a shiny new thread for us to discuss, query, whinge about and rejoice our high-need bubs!

Pretty bad night last night, bleeding exhausted. Can see why so many of you co-sleep. We haven't gone down that route, but it's never looked so attractive...

Gawd, grizzly DS. Poor tooths. Hope you have had a decent night!

dd is 5 weeks

Exclusively breastfed
Exclusively held
Exclusively sleeping in bed
Exclusively naps on a saggy tummy

I'm just bloody fed up today and feel drained annoyed tired and guilty all at the same time.

Mostly v fed and feel like swearing lots

QueenKong · 18/03/2012 16:00

Welcome bigeyes, and congratulations on your little baby girl. You'll find lots of support here, possibly not much helpful advice though as my 9mo DS is still in our bed and will only nap with me!

Having an ok mothers day, DH has just taken the beast out for a walk so I'm on the sofa, drinking beer and reading good food mag. DS has started getting very frustrated at the world. He is so keen to be walking and talking and I think it's stressing him out that he can't. At least that's my explanation for his moods. He might just be a grumpy bugger like his dad. Hope you're all having lovely days.

QueenKong · 18/03/2012 16:03

Meant to say, I know how you are feeling. I feel the same a lot of the time. I think it's normal with a HN baby, they suck the life out of us. You're doing an amazing job though.

Last night, DH and I managed to watch a film while DS slept upstairs. For the first time in 9 months. I said "this must be what it is like having a normal baby"...

Thanks for welcom queen and joyful. I normally lurk but compelled when saw thread.

I feel v drained, can't stop eating unashamedly comfort eating cream eggs.....

Off to read sears, I hope this is a quick growth spurt my nipples feel like nuclear warheads and I have a sty on my eye. I could go on....

QueenKong · 18/03/2012 18:00

Oh bigeyes, please be kind to yourself. You're only 5 weeks pp and ebfing a little monster. if you fancy a few cream eggs then eat them. I'm pretty sure I kept M&S in business during the first 6 months of DS's life due to my biscuit habit.

Remember, you've been through one hell of a trauma (no matter how straightforward the birth was) and you are still recovering. Refined sugar is known to help with this.

fazsaeed · 18/03/2012 18:01

Hi bigeyes welcome!

Queening my ds started walking between 9-19months.
It was funny my Sis had a pack of crisp and he wanted it so he took his first steps lol.

Can I ask how everyone stays sane?
X

fazsaeed · 18/03/2012 18:03

My ds is is 18months and I still comfort eat!
I've gone through a small Easter egg (bit bigger than cream egg) :)

QueenKong · 18/03/2012 18:17

Today I ate a large packet of tyrells crisps and a small tub of choc-Philly with a spoon Blush.

bigeyes · 18/03/2012 18:29

Big smiles to fellow comfort eaters

Just lost my temper que DH losing his temper, not a great day, it's all taking its toll today sorry to bring thread down Sad

fazsaeed · 18/03/2012 18:38

Queenkong I take it the choc phili is nice? We have a tub but I'm
Not brave enough to eat it x

bigeyes · 18/03/2012 18:39

Faz, I'll eat it pass it over...

QueenKong · 18/03/2012 18:53

It's very tasty, but I'm not sure what you're supposed to do with it - aside from eat it with a spoon.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 18/03/2012 19:05

Happy Mothers' Day all Thanks & welcome newbie HNers x

We had a rough night, but have mum & dad staying & have just been to see my bro for the day so I've had loads of help with DS (and a free glass of bubbly with lunch Grin) DP and I left DS with mum for an hour or so while we wandered round the shops & ate Krsipy Kremes and it was lovely to feel 'normal' again (although we did end up buying nothing for ourselves but a gorgeous outfit for DS & cooing over a newborn in a cafe!)

We're all in the car home now - DS mercifully asleep (such progress with the car seat!), mum gazing adoringly at him, DP watching a movie on his iPad, me ebaying for back to work clothes & dad being his usual calm presence & asking regularly if we need to stop for DS. Right now, family life just seems perfect Grin

Now, this chocolate Philly you're all talking about... Explain please!

QueenKong · 18/03/2012 19:17

Ah, sounds like you've had a lovely day. I'm really pleased for you.

Cadbury Philladelphia - does exactly what it says on the tin. Tastes like chocolate cheesecake filling. Very moorish.

SpannerPants · 18/03/2012 19:24

Hmm. I'm not convinced on the chocolate philly - pass me the nutella instead Grin

DS had an almost 2hr nap on me this afternoon. I enjoyed the cuddle but he's far too big to comfortably stay on me like that anymore - I'm really not looking forward to this plane journey on Thursday, even if it is only 4hrs long!

fazsaeed · 18/03/2012 19:42

Mnmmm I might just stick with some hot chocolate tonight.
Anyone want acup?

It's nice to hear you've had a good day!

Its been good until dh killed the mood- he's in a mood for some reason.
He's not here he just put phone down and ignored my calls.
There's my excuse to get the biscuits out!

fazsaeed · 18/03/2012 19:45

Ooo spannerpants you going any where nice? Can I get in the suitcase??

jan2011 · 18/03/2012 20:17

good evening...hello and welcome bigeyes :) i have been indulging myself in chocolate pralines here too yumyum, oh and we have the tubs (like, mini tubs?) of the choc phil sitting in the house too but i haven't had them either yet but dh keeps going on about them... i love all the other cream cheeses but chocolate flavour was pushing it.

sorry for those of you who have had a rough day. bigeyes its so hard not to let tempers rise when living under so much stress and with the tiredness. hugs

i did have a nice day -the first one in a long time so i am so glad. tomorrow ive arranged to see friends then go bowling and then out for dinner with the inlaws....quite a busy day compared to what i would normally be doing so i am hoping i will be able to keep up with it all and not get too tired to cope.

fazaseed i am having a lovely cup of hot choc now, thanks :)

tickleme63 · 18/03/2012 21:27

I'm so miserable, ladies. First day back at work tomorrow and I don't know if my heart can take it.

Fucking hell I just feel so damn sad. Where has my 8 months of leave gone?!

Shit, shit and more shit. I need to win the lottery :(
