Permanent exclusion

Can the school do this??
My child has been permanently excluded for shouting at one teacher and supposedly pushing her way through another on her way out of the class. Witnesses who were there say she did not push this teacher and she also claims and swears on God and the bible that she didnt push this teacher.
The school still said in the meeting that there were 13 year 8s who wrote that she did push the teacher but they did not investigate the other students who were there that said she did not.
We have had many calls regarding her behaviour but not towards teachers mostly for breaking basic school rules like eating in the corridors, missing deadlines, and wearing two earring studs which is not allowed in her school.
In the meeting we were given an option to manage move but im not sure if this option is still available for her. How do we get this option because we feel it will be alot suitable than being expelled for something she did not do.

Also my child is black do you think this has anything to do with it?

Eating in the corridor has no relevance to being aggressive towards a teacher and assulting them if you get what i mean.

Thing is you weren’t there op so you can’t be sure what happened.

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 12:57

No we tell her off and have discussions as to how following the rules is important.

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 12:57

Fair enough but i believe her, I know that she is not a liar and she is not an aggressive child and that is why i struggle to believe she pushed a teacher.

Kids can and do behave differently at home and school

going somewhere else might be better for her - sounds like she isn’t happy there anyway

The thing is im certain she didnt push the teacher she is not an aggressor child.

Why would the teacher claim they were pushed? Why would other pupils confirm that they saw it happen?

You said other students didn’t see it / said it didn’t happen, but to be honest they might not have been watching at this exact moment or they could just be saying that so their friend isn’t excluded.
But why would others say it did? Adults and children.

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 12:59

No dont get this wrong, the calls have been for out of class behaviour with her not following rules. We dont normally get calls regarding her behaviour towards a teacher. I only mentioned race because her school has a history of extreme racism and she has come home multiple times complaining about how she gets treated compared to others.

We are not too educated on what to do to investigate this further any advice?

You love her so you believe her - but you weren’t there.

you’ll do her more favours by dealing with this rather than denying it

Said every parent of a disruptive child 🙄

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 13:02

She is not a liar, I know this because there has been times she has done wrong and she had admitted to it.

OP posts:
Newgirls · 03/03/2025 13:02

if it’s a bad school like you think - move her. Might be a fresh start for her

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 13:03

Thats the tricky part but a large amount of other students said she did not push the teacher but they were just discarded.

Other people there that I have personally spoken to claim there wasnt even uo to 13 year 8s there, I cant tell if the school is lyijg to back their claim because they have had a long run on my daughter for a very long time because she doesnt feel easily intimidated by them.

That blatantly isn't working though is it? You realise that most parents don't get repeated calls home about their child's behaviour?
With respect, take your blinkers off and acknowledge that there is a serious issue with your child's behaviour

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 13:06

Im trying to figure out how to deal with it. The school they are offering her is alright but she doesnt do well in non diverse areas

So many parents have not a clue how their sweet angels behave in school.

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 13:07

I have. Weve taken her devices and were pretty much taken away most of her freedom like going to london, going to cinemas far away.

Newgirls · 03/03/2025 13:07

If she’s offered a new school that’s good - at the academies here they exclude from all of them!

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 13:08

I know my child is not a “sweet angel” but i know she would never push a teacher i raised her right. Shouting? Yes. I can see she has a terrible issue with when people shout at it really affects her and im not sure how to sort this out.

If she is being offered another school, then isn't that a managed move?

If you are unhappy with current school, is there any more diverse school that you could look into her attending?

Has she had fixed term exclusions, etc. before this point? It seems strange to go directly to full exclusion unless the "push" meant that the teacher was injured.

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 13:09

Yes its good but im just worried about how she will cope in the school. Shes not good at making friends and when she doesnt see other pupils that are the same race she tends to feel easily left out bear in mind we have just moved from South london.

You need to move her then to a school that suits her.

Her behaviour is communication.

Oh ffs, it has nothing to do with being black! Parent your child, she sounds like a brat!! How dare she touch a member of staff doing their job. You sound like you need a parenting course.

lilsgree · 03/03/2025 13:11

She has been suspended before for fighting but she didnt start the fight the fight started as the other girl was bullying her and her friend and she stood up for herself which resulted in her hair being pulled. I told her she shouldnt have fought back.
