Hi,

Is anyone expecting a March baby?

I've just found out I'm pg following a mc in April at 12 weeks, so I need some company

Good luck Sevenbubbles - hope all goes well :)

It is true what you say KPidgeon it isn't such a rosy thing - I was upset last time when my mum who lives many miles away said 'try to enjoy your pregnancy'... its as if its my choice to feel horrible!

Anyways have a good afternoon and hope you all have a nice weekend without being sick or feeling sick :)

shitforbrains · 13/08/2010 14:45

sevenbubbles if I have PCOS I don't know about it!

There isn't much I can do tbh, save take it easy - no mean feat when I have 2 preschoolers at home!
I found NHS physio to be ok - I think different areas vary!

KPidgeon · 13/08/2010 16:15

am988- yes, sometimes they are not as helpful as you want them to be (Mums)

Mine lives miles away too and when I called her for a bit of sympathy and said how shattered I was she said she thinks she was a lot more stoical about it all!!! (nice)
I then reminded her that she didn't work at all during her pregnancies, so it was probably a bit easier to not be so tired!

Commuting before your big enough for anyone to think about giving you seat is a grind.

I'm sure we'll enjoy it more in the second trimester. It'll feel more real then won't it.

Have a nice weekend all. Hope the sun comes out for us.

KateandEmsMum · 13/08/2010 16:39

Hello to all the newbies - this list has grown and grown.

SFB - so sorry you have spd. I had it at the end with DD2 and was bloody awful. Can't believe you have it so early - that's awful for you. Esp with two littluns at home. Hope you get some help.

Raye - fantastic scan news and an official welcome now.

Hattie05 - I have to eat to stop feeling sick but if I overdo it, I feel stick again. Its a very fine line! I will be going back to work from mat leave at the end of September and will be about 15 weeks but then so its going to be pretty obvious. I don't mind telling my immediate boss as he is really cool but telling the partners will be a nightmare. Am seriously considering going in the week before to tell my boss and leaving him to spread the news whilst I am still off so by the time I go back they'll be over it!

I have to confess that I really don't understand anyone who says they enjoy being pregnant. I can only assume they have a very different experience to me! Its a combination of exhausting, feeling sick all the time and terrified something is going to go wrong. How can that be enjoyable?!!

Although am feeling OK this afternoon after a large ice cream. Obviously that is the way forward!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 13/08/2010 17:00

My plan was to enjoy it this time as it is the last time but I have yet to move into that frame of mind. My mum is absolutely wonderful and does so much for me and I honestly dont know what I would do without her but she still says silly things like all your mums.

polkadottytotty · 13/08/2010 18:30

Hello

Glad your scans went well Raye and Spilttea, must be a weight of your minds - I've just realised that mine is on Bank Holiday Monday (30th), I didn't think they would have appointments on that day.

Got my booking in with midwife next Tues at the hospital - all changed since my last baby, they used to come to your home to do it then.

KPidgeon my stomach is also very bloated and I often have stomach cramps and loose bowels (sorry for TMI) after eating - is anyone else experiencing this?
I've heard its normal during 1st trimester caused by change in hormones but I didn't have it with last two.

Purplefan · 13/08/2010 19:12

Hi everyone,
Sorry to hear that you are in pain Sfb I know its easier said than done, but do try and take it easy!

Congrats to all who have now had scans and seen the little beans and their beating hearts... still no date for my dating scan yet...seems to be dragging!

Polka I also get stomach cramps and some loose bowels after eating..its horrid isn't it.
I am also finding that I start cooking an evening meal and then really don't fancy it and feel nauseous at the thought and smell of it (no matter what it is!!) so then end up snacking on things that I shouldn't later on... anyone else do this?

LLCoolK29 · 13/08/2010 19:50

Hi Everyone!
I'm yet another newbie, due with first baby 9th March (10 weeks). Infact so new I don't understand lots of these acronyms - will have to read the talk guidelines I think!

Still wondering if I'm imagining it all as haven't experienced the joys(!) of morning sickness at all, though am assured I should just count myself lucky. Certainly experiencing the constant peeing though - camping last weekend wasn;t a good idea.

Good to 'meet' everyone!

flower11 · 13/08/2010 22:17

sfb sorry you are having bad time, hope things get better soon.

Ive had stomach problems too, worse few weeks ago cramps caused by bloating and too much wind, settled down now, still get indegestion alot in the eve, i keep a bottle of gaviscon by the bed. Been told it gets worse later on as baby gets bigger and stomach space gets less.

niamh29 · 14/08/2010 15:56

I was actually dreading this prg, even though its my last. I was SO sick and miserable last time and I had a cs last time too when i had prepared for a natural one (DD2 was breech) but to my pleasant surprise I'm not that bad, sure I am sick and exhausted but all my symptoms are less intense than last time so on one hand that's great and I'm able to cope better but I'm also worried if everything is ok and I can't wait for my first scan which probably won't be till at least 12 weeks (I'm 8 at the mo).

superpenguin · 14/08/2010 17:38

Hello everyone!
How are you all doing? Hope you're all ok.

Big welcome to all the new people! There are so many of us now! :)

Just been reading through the last week's posts, what a week of ups and downs we've been having.
Loved hearing from those who had scans! :)

My letter with my scan date was waiting for me when I got home, the same day I was moaning I hadn't had it yet! Blush Scan is happening on 24th Aug. Can't wait!

I have had a bad week of the sickness I'm afraid. Ended up taking the whole week off work sick as couldn't manage the driving in, or the concentrating on doing any work, or even the staying awake and not being sick. Spent most of week in bed asleep or leaning over the toilet. Not being sick every day but more than was before, but the worst thing is the constant nausea.
Really messed up work as it's really busy at the mo but never mind.
I'm 10+6 today and think I am going to tell my boss next week. I wanted to wait until after the scan but I feel I need to explain my absence and also he is on holiday from when I will be 12 weeks for 2 weeks.

whoever said about burping, yes I am getting that too!

Am trying hard to make sure I eat enough but it's really hard as I don't fancy anything these days.
Whoever was saying about losing weight but not sure where it's gone? I empathise! I have lost a whole stone in the last few weeks according to the scales, yet my stomach still seems huge, all my clothes are tight round the waist and my boobs have gone up a cup size. Hmm

sfb I hadn't heard of spd before but sounds horrible. Hope you are ok.

Madasajarofwasps · 14/08/2010 22:23

Feeling sick sick sick, oh my goodness the nausea is back, and I feel so rough. I have to drive to Devon tomorrow which I am not looking forward to, but it will be lovely to spend a week with my Mum and Dad. My Dad isnt well though so it might not be a relaxing trip. He is refusing invasive tests, choosing to suffer instead. I just hope it all gets better, but he should be sensible as he has a strong family history of cancer and get the tests. He is a bit of an ostrich and won't even talk about it. I feel sorry for Mum as she is worried for him.

Rambled on there a bit - sorry. So my only other worry to report is that when I was feeding the dog tonight I had an overwhelming urge to eat some - it suddenly smelt quite tasty (yet I retched when I smelt a yoghurt). Don't panic I didn't eat any but it did smell so goooood Shock.

I have retrieved my maternity clothes from the loft as I am struggling to find anything to fit - what a lot of memories in a bag of clothes Smile.

I hope everyone is coping with the roughness and having relaxing weekends.

SFB I had very mild SPD at the end of my alst pregnancy and that was bad enough, so you really do have my sympathy.

sam26oscar · 14/08/2010 22:29

evening everyone, have had my sister to stay for past week ,she has a 7 month old and shes just started to wake during the night at about 11pm, just as we're all thinking of going to sleep!! So have been quite tired!! My m/s has been pretty much the same, just all day nausea, and agree with super penguin about not fancying any food!! Am 11+1 now and thought i would start to get an appetite soon Sad I have had to tell my boss which i was reluctant to do until i had had my nuchal scan on 24th, but due to a forthcoming change in my job, i had to tell her in case she didn't want to go ahead with an expense which would only be valid for 6 month before i went on mat leave. She was over the moon for me though, in fact more excited than i am at the moment!! I may be a bad person, but at the moment i don't feel excited yet, i worry constantly that something could happen, and i do rub my belly, but i just can't seem to get up much enthusiasm, anyone else feel like this??? I think its because i feel soooo sick all the itme i just can't see that far into the future when i am holding my baby!!

mendipgirl · 15/08/2010 20:21

Sam, I know what you mean. I am excited sometimes, but am almost wary of getting too excited till the 12wk scan is over and I can see the LO is okay, heart beating and the nuchal test results say it is all okay...hopefully after then I can relax and enjoy and will start feeling better as well....when do we start to bloom???

Only 3 days till my scan....hooray. Feel like I have doubled in size, have put on 4 inches on my waist already!!! Everyone must think I am eating too many cakes!!!

Feel equally excited and nervous about the scan, just want it to be over.

pushmepullyou · 16/08/2010 10:20

Morning everyone Smile

Sorry to hear tat everyone's suffering so badly with ms. Still quite queasy here, I certainly don't feel that I'm actually going to have a baby yet either.

Had a tiny bit of spotting on Friday night, but it doesn't seem to have come to anything and I am pretty sure i found a tiny heartbeat on Saturday morning using the doppler I bought when I was pregnant with DD Smile. So hopefully all is well.

Sympathies and indeed empathies to all of you with bloating. I am certainly starting to lose my waist (well what there was of it!)

am988 · 16/08/2010 10:21

Good Morning All,

Another Monday - good thing is time is passing and we're moving a bit closer to 'blooming' - I liked that Mendipgirl. I was seriously wondering this weekend if something was wrong with me cause so far all I have felt is worse.. nothing like blooming.

Saturday was a fairly good day and I thought the nausea, stomach aches etc.. were weaning a little - probably going to the hairdresser to get my hair done did help a lot :) but yesterday it all came back with a vengance - in fact this morning i was up since 2am with stomach aches so i have no idea how i made it to work!

I was 'glad' to read someone else has loose bowles - I thought it was just me as one hears of constipation and not that.

Booking appt tomorrow, can't wait - also not to come to work and avoid the morning hassle & the train journey.

Welcome to all the new mums to be and hope we all have a good week ;)

Clucky31 · 16/08/2010 10:34

Hi Ladies,

Can I join you please? Have been lurking for a while now :)
I'm pg with baby 1 and live in South East London. As I had almost no symptoms up to 8 weeks and am a natural worrier DH paid for a private viability scan which thankfully showed a wriggly bean with a heartbeat.

hi all
i'm back on the nausea, back off food and starting to look fat. This sucks. When do we all start to look and feel fabulous?! Sounds like a few of us have fallen back off the wagon, not just me, which is a shame. Fingers crossed it passes soon for you all.

x

ps- welcome to the new girls from the weekend. Looks like March is gonna be a busy month on those labour wards! Smile

emma31177 · 16/08/2010 11:22

hi welcome to the new mummies and hope everyone else is doing fine
just needed a chat am 8 weeks 2morrow and this is the time my last baby heart beat stopped back in may how do i get through this week goin for a scan on thursday but its only monday just keep having it in my head somthing going to go wrong with this one but feeling very sick very tierd and have no energy what so ever is this a good sign that this baby is going to be ok the worry of it all ....

hi Clucky31 am in woolwich south east london where about are u if u dont mind me asking

KPidgeon · 16/08/2010 12:10

Hi everyone- to anyone suffering from nausea (as I have been- and been vomiting a bit) I thought I'd try sea bands/acupuncture and so far i think they've helped quite a bit. Wore them from Saturday afternoon and only taking them off when I shower and I definitely feel less sick. Finding it a lot easier to concentrate at work (when I'm not naughtily on mumsnet!) and not burping as much. So worth a try for some of you maybe? Mine were £8 from the pharmacy.

Take care all.
K

KateandEmsMum · 16/08/2010 12:17

Emma31177 - feeling for you so much. You are so right that all the horrid symptoms of sick and knackeredness are great news tho as it means your body is doing all the things it should be to keep your LO safe. I hope this week goes as quickly as possible for you and that Thursday is a great day.

coraltoes March does indeed look like a very busy month - mainly the beginning. Am assuming that all the early March ones relate to the middle/end of June when all the hubbies were fed up with the crap football??!! Or was it to do with the good weather at that point making us all frisky? In that case, April will be a quiet month on the labour wards given the recent weather.

Still feeling pretty sick most of the time here - altho Green & Blacks choccy seemed to help last night! And really flag around 4pm - in desperate need of a sleep just as I need to start tea for the girls.

Ah well, the sun is shining here today so off into the garden to make the most of it....

bluebeach · 16/08/2010 12:33

Blimey So much has happened! Have been away with work sans internet all week and have just spent almost an hour of work time catching up on all the threads! Smile

Hello to all the newbies and congratulations on your Pregnancies!

Also really good to hear people getting to see their bubs.

I am loving hearing all the symptoms that I'm sharing, lots of burping and trumping (though wandering if this is much different to normal). Have had several VERY rude and dirty dreams, last nights was shocking involving things Ive never even thought of doing before plus I am now a dream-time bisexual!

Well enjoy the sunshine if you have it!!
xxx

jeffily · 16/08/2010 13:37

Hello all!

Well, back from another wknd of camping- this time it was windy and rainy on and off. Still fun and DD loved it, but would be really nice to get a bit of bloody sunshine when we are off again on Wed (we must be mad!). Feeling ok, have our nuchal fold scan tomorrow and of course am worrying that bubba won't be there, but am excited too. Told mum and dad over wknd- v excited and lots of talk of names already!

Well, am just checking in quickly to say hi.

Feeling for you emma hope that the week goes by quickly for you. There is no reason why this preg should also be lost at the same time as last time for you, but it is totally normal to feel anxious like you are. I found thinking that it happening to you once is bad luck, so it must mean it is more likely to work out another time as you've had that bad luck already. Don't know if that will help you, but try to stay positive. Sending you lots of positive thoughts through the webwaves!

PipPipPip · 16/08/2010 13:53

Welcome clucky31 and congrats.

My dreams are crazy. Last night, I dreamt I was at a wine tasting event with James Cordon. He got all offended when my Mum gave him some critical feedback about his latest sitcom.

Also feeling pretty porky and sleeping for England. Had 10.5 hours sleep last night and it was still hard getting up.

But generally feeling happy, well and optimistic.

Emma I am also sending you lots of positive thoughts.
