Hi,

Is anyone expecting a March baby?

I've just found out I'm pg following a mc in April at 12 weeks, so I need some company

coraltoes · 12/08/2010 10:39

SFB! how did you do that?!?! (or should i remain blissfully ignorant?)
Really hope you're ok.

I'm def having a gender scan, i am rubbish with surprises and prefer to plan as much as i can. I'll keep names in mind in case they have got it wrong, but really do want to know!

am988 the night peeing is a pain isnt it! I cant remember what it is like to have a night of not waking 3 times. Interrupted sleep means not quite resting properly, and waking as tired (or more so) than when we went to bed!
Sorry to hear the nausea is back too. I cant believe how lucky i have been compared to many on here (apart from 1 horrific week), and apart from the odd gagging over a smell (usually a colleagu's lunch) i am surviving. That week did teach me how awful it can be, and my heart goes out to all you girls struggling to get out and about at the moment. Fingers crossed for an improvement soon!!!

Kpidgeon as far as i'm aware between wk 11 and 13 and some days (i forget) is the optimum time for the nuchal scan where they check the fluid at back of baby's head to see risk of downs (is that right experienced ladies?). Please check with your MW in case you unwittingly miss the chance to have a test you wanted. Will you be abroad? or just elsewhere in UK?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 12/08/2010 10:56

Morning everyone.

Well breakthrough I managed to be sick only TWICE the WHOLE day yesterday. It is still there though but it doesnt seem to be taking quite so much out of me.

On the gender issues. DH is desperate for a girl with two DSs... I thought I really wanted a girl but it is a little scary since it is unknown territory Wink ridiculous I know. Currently it is about 60 40 boy/girl for me. I think part of it is that I dont want to be dispointed either so maybe I am convincing myslef of boy IYSWIM. Long term though I know I will be happy either way.

We have had a name for a girl since concieving DS1 and although we still through other names around I think it highly likely we will use it. We have polar opposite taste when it comes to boys names but also added complications of something that suits my background and DH's background but my mum often has trouble pronouncing relatives names who she has known for 29 years so it has to be something easy for her.

In terms of feeling I have no idea. I KNEW with the other two but not this time.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 12/08/2010 11:00

Oh and London ladies... I am NW London and as long as I can get a bus somewhere am happy to do coffees. I love meet ups. My post natal group did a pizza express evening in West End when we were pregnant, but difficult as many of us have other DC on this thread.

shitforbrains · 12/08/2010 11:13

I love meet ups too.
Am in Ealing if anyone is up for it.

Evenings not so good due to (a) insane tiredness (b) existing DC's!

Alternatively, a weekend meet up somewhere child-friendly?

coraltoes - pushing heavy pram up a hill.
Sadly no wildly exciting sexual exploits involving chandeliers, watermelons and paulo the pool boy. That was the night before.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 12/08/2010 11:32

Hahah SFB Paulo the pool boy.

SFB - I can easily get to Acton on the Overground or anywhere along that line. I dont work Mondays and Wednesdays.

KPidgeon · 12/08/2010 11:38

coraltoes- I don't know how to make the name bold, sorry! Thanks- I'll check with my GP. Don't have a midwife yet but I'm calling her next week when I've passed the 8-week mark (on Saturday) to see about booking in for a scan.. we're going to the Isle of Skye- not even sure there's a hospital there! So I hope I can squeeze a scan in just before or just after. Not ideal timing in that way but I'm so looking forward to not commuting and being able to relax for two weeks. This working whilst being shattered and sick is tough!

sevenbubbles · 12/08/2010 16:27

oh the shame of it. I just sneezed. In my office. And wet myself. Only a little bit and don't think the chap I sit with noticed. But def now have damp trousers. How has this happened to me?????xx

mixedmamameansbusiness · 12/08/2010 16:31

sevenbubbles..... oh the joys of pregnancy.

wait for the dirty dreams and orgasms in sleep.

Madasajarofwasps · 12/08/2010 17:07

oh sevenbubbles it doesnt get much better after the baby is born. After this one I don't think I will ever get on a trampoline again Blush. I really should do my pelvic floor exercises!

spilttheteaagain · 12/08/2010 18:42

Kpidgeon I too am burping all the time... nice! It's like a pressure cooker or something venting every 20 mins.

Oh sevenbubbles how mortifying! At least it was nearly at the end of the day I suppose.

So is orgasms in sleep due to pg then? I had one in a half sleep/half waking dream the other week and was most surprised (and happy!). Can I look forward to more?? (There must be compensations for the sickiness!)

Raye hope it's gone well today.

Kagey · 12/08/2010 21:28

Interesting about the MS bit. I hardly had any MS with DD so I am wondering if this one is a boy. I am not finding out the gender this time around. I had to know with DD, but DH did not want to know, so he left the scan room for a couple of minutes. TBH the effort of trying to keep a secret is too exhausting again so it shall be a pleasant surprise all being well.

Hattie05 · 12/08/2010 21:42

HI all

Glad to see i'm not alone in still feeling sicky. never had it like this before, d'you reckon i could be having a boy? got 3 girls already.

SFB that sounds painful! put your feet up.

Bev i too am rubbish with folic acid, in fact i have no memory skills at all!

I returned to work this week from maternity leave Blush havn't confessed that i'm pregnant yet but lots of stares at my bump which is big already. Just got to hang on til the scan and then i've got to sheepishly tell the boss i'll need more maternity leave.

Jeffily after bf my first my boobs have never filled out in subsequent pregnancies until after the babie born and they have milk.

Well everyone i'm off to make some toast as eating is the only way i get rid of the sickness - am i alone on that one?

BUnderTheBonnet · 13/08/2010 00:38

Hello everyone!

I'm still here (don't want to get chucked off my own list Grin)

Absolutely nothing to report, so hello to the new people!

And...goodnight.

shitforbrains · 13/08/2010 09:21

fucksticks

my SPD is back
better get on to the GP. This time I'm going to apply for a blue badge! Last time was a sodding joke, I COULDN'T WALK

mixedmamameansbusiness · 13/08/2010 09:24

SFB - oh no for the SPD. I have a rl friend who had it towards the end of preg, awful for you esp from this early on.

And yes sleeping orgasms are something to look forward to esp later on if you cant face the deed Wink

shitforbrains · 13/08/2010 09:31

Just buy a rabbit

No need for the deed!

Rayeraye · 13/08/2010 10:23

Hello everyone!

Scan yesterday morning went brilliantly. There was my little Roo, heartbeating away and everything! Grin Grin The lady that did the scan said it all looked very viable and while she had no crystal ball was confident as the heartbeat was so visible and strong, and Roo had a little wiggle too!

We are obviously delighted (although loo checks have not stopped!) and I can now be added to the official list

11/3 Rayeraye pg#4 (DD aged 3, two angels)

Slept like a log (apart from two loo breaks) last night, the queasiness is back and I have a smile you couldn't slap off my face!!! Just waiting for the NHS 12 week scan (which apparently due to waiting times is likely to be nearer 14 weeks)

KPidgeon · 13/08/2010 10:38

Who can face the deed?! My husband was really looking forward to the "trying" to conceive bit and then it happened so fast that is totally not happenind- far too tired and vomit-y and burpy. He's cool about it though. How to feel sexy when you feel like this?!

What's SPD?

spilttheteaagain- ha! Yes- it is like a pressure cooker. Other people who know and who I can burp freely in front of seem to find it hilarious but it's not very pleasant being the burper. Probably isn't helping with the sez appeal thing either...

Hattie05- yes- I do feel better when I eat but then when I eat I burp, which makes me feel a bit sick again. A vicious flatulent cycle!

This is my first pregnancy so I'm not showing yet but I'm aware that my stomach is bigger than usual (gas I expect) so just want to be in loose clothing..is that normal? I'm only 8 weeks but feel like a big balloon already..

All the best everyone- nearly the weekend.

PipPipPip · 13/08/2010 11:04

KPidgeon I'm in the same boat as you - my stomach feels big and bloaty. Yesterday, my stomach was aching and I felt a little nervous before realising it was stomach/bowel related rather than baby related. I haven't been experiencing nausea, just a big old tummy! Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

ShitforBrains I'm in Ealing too, so would be interested in catching up some time.

I'd be particularly interested in meeting up with first timers as well, if there are any living in the Ealing/West area?

Pip

shitforbrains · 13/08/2010 11:04

good news Rayeraye about the scan.

Kpidgeon - SPD (or PGP I think it is now called) is where the pelvis ligaments stretch too much. In a nutshell.
It is agonising and gets worse every day.

Last year I needed weekly physio, a support bandage and I was totally incontinent. Some ladies end up on crutches/a wheelchair.

Currently I am just getting the twinges when I sit down or twist when I walk, or push the pram. It will only get worse :(

It's not uncommon, sadly, I hope no-one else gets it!

sevenbubbles · 13/08/2010 12:48

SFB i had SPD with my first pregnancy. Poor you that it has come back so early - it sounds like you had a really bad case of it last time. Do you have PCOS by any chance as I have a theory that it is worse / you are more suseptible if you have PCOS - and the only other person I know in RL that got it has PCOS too. The PCOS support boards seem to indicate a link.

Anyhow, regardless I really feel for you as it is rubbish. Make sure that you take it easy but keep active - easier said than done I know. I managed to control my (much milder) case by really listening to my body and not trying to soldier on. But it was still hideous. I am dreading the fact that it might come back. Please don't overdo it (esp getting in and out of car) and try and get as much support from the GP etc early on. I found the NHS physio rubbish btw. They just weren't interested. I know that you will know all of this butjust wanted to show some support.

Have my scan this afternoon. So nervous

xx

KPidgeon · 13/08/2010 12:56

shitforbrains- ouch, poor you. That sounds terrible.. I'm so sorry you're suffering so much. I hope you're getting lots of support and help.

The portrayal of pregnancy through films etc. is such a lie isn't it! There is no glamour or rosiness in what I'm feeling right now.

Is the old wive's tale that if you feel sick it's a boy?, or a girl?

K

spilttheteaagain · 13/08/2010 13:13

Congratulations Raye that's great news & good luck to sevenbubbles!

Had my scan and I have one very wriggly tiny person with a nice heartbeat. They've dated me at 12 weeks exactly and put my EDD to 25/02/11 (so I am now on the wrong thread, but what the hell, I intend to stay! And it'll probably be late...)

SFB you poor thing. Is there anything you can do/take to try and manage SPD and hopefully not let it get quite so bad?

Once I am over the sickness I tend to become a randy little thing when pregnant.... I actually had sex the night I went into labour with DS1. Something to do with it feeling a little off limits I think.
