PinkiePoo · 26/06/2010 12:02

Hey all...

Can i join? I got my BFP yesterday...totally shocked!! I did the Clearblue Conception test and it said 2-3 weeks....does this mean i am actually about 4 weeks? I think my due date is calculating at 11 March.

Slightly concerned, as it feels i am about to get the dreaded AF!! Cramping is not a good sign surely, and i have back ache....on constant knicker watch. I felt fine yesterday and now the cramping started this morning!!

Anyone with me on this one?

specialsmasher · 26/06/2010 12:53

Congratulations & welcome, PinkiePoo! I had some pre-menstrual type cramps, and am still not free from them. It's a confusing symptom of early pregnancy I think...

Thanks for big message re:running, Madasajarofwasps ! I don't run as much as you - have ben doing 3 miles, 3 times a week for a year or so. Just a bit worried that I'll get too knackered & lose fitness if I leave it too long. Mind you, it would be insane to run in this heat! Very impressed with London Marathon!!!!! I've only ever done 10k, and that was enough...

PinkiePoo · 26/06/2010 13:06

Thanks special...thats a bit of relief...probably will be on constant knicker watch anyway now though, sure its perfectly normal to feel that way. Hopefully we will all get through this together

spilttheteaagain · 26/06/2010 13:16

Congratulations Pinkie! Just to echo special I also have had about a week of really bad "period" pains/cramps/backache etc but no period and a BFP so it seems fairly normal.

sunchild77 · 26/06/2010 14:40

Congrats and welcome to the newbies

How you feeling today Delilah? Any more spotting? Just wanted to say Im thinking of you and hoping all is well..

Madasajarofwasps · 26/06/2010 21:03

Hello, I hope everyone has had a good day and are surviving the heat. We had a nice day out and a picnic but I was really starting to suffer in the heat and feel so very tired. I am also really itchy all over which is quite annoying. I have just googled and its quite normal, but I didn't have it with either of my previous pregnancies. I suspect the heat isnt helping - still mustnt complain about the weather .

pinkiepoo Many congrats and welcome aboard . I have had lots of cramps, and am still getting them. I was worrying a bit but then they don't feel quite the same as AF cramps which feel more dragging down to me. These cramps feel more like something sticking, which is probably just my positive thinking tbh! I thinks its all to do with increased blood flow to the uterus, so try not to worry too much.

B so pleased you are feeling rough IYSWIM. I feel quite bad mid morning .

spilt I am v tired but keep waking early which is annoying because once I am up and had breakfast, I am ready for a nap!! I seem to be able to power nap quite well which helps get me through the day.

No worries special running is a small obsession of mine, I just hope I feel more energetic soon. Keep up doing what you are doing for as long as you can and you won't lose too much fitness. You'll also be really fit and ready for the big day !

Still thinking of Delilah, I hope all is well.

Well tomorrow it'll be another outing to wear the kids out at a Dogs Trust open day, and then back for the football - no beers for me tho. I think DH will see this as a sign that I am not kidding

Take care all xx

BUnderTheBonnet · 26/06/2010 21:18

I am the same as madas - slepping well but waking at the crack of dawn (desparate for a wee, actually) and wide awake for about 30 mins. And then wanting to go back to bed.

Pinkie - got any stats for the list? Is this your first?

Thinking of you delilah

spilttheteaagain · 26/06/2010 22:00

It's certainly been warm today! I must have gone through about 12 pints of iced water. If I want any chance of a good nights sleep then I need a mahoosive nappy!

Awful headache too.

Hope you're ok delilah

PinkiePoo · 27/06/2010 07:20

Ok can someone calm me down?? I am panicking.

i just looked at my diary and got it all wrong. my last AF was on the 7th May which means technically I am 7 weeks....but my Clearblue conception only said 2-3...i know this means 4-5 weeks really, but that means its still wrong. I am worrying something is up...does this mean there is no heartbeat??

Sorry for the self indulgent post, just really worried!!

sunchild77 · 27/06/2010 09:21

Pinkie - please try not to worry about the Clearblue, I have been reading lots of threads and they are notoriously wrong. You wont know about heartbeats until you have a scan, and you've no bleeding or pain etc. Just try and chill out a wee bit. Good news is that you are further along than you thought ;)

Hang in there

delilahbelle · 27/06/2010 15:50

Hi all

Thanks for the thoughts. I'm still spotting - black/brown gunk, yuk.
No pain or cramps though, but my last chem preg started exactly like this so I am not holding out much hope.

Will keep you all posted. xx

snapdragon3 · 27/06/2010 16:04

Hi ladies

I'd love to join you, if I may. Not too sure when I'm due, but suspect early March. I had major surgery in May which seems to have messed up my cycle so until I drag myself to a doc and he sends me for a scan, I have not much clue...

I thought I was pg at the end of May but got about half a dozen BFNs. Then, just for a laugh, last weekend I did a test, as I felt pg and whaddaya know - a strong BFP! Morning sickness, tiredness etc etc. Having had 5 miscarriages in the last 18 months, hoping this is a good sign but you just never know.

I have a dd aged 3 and a ds aged 2. DD was born by emergency cs and ds by elective cs when he didn't show up naturally despite all efforts With a tendency to have very big babies in bad positions, it'll be interesting to see what happens with a third.

Have read posts from those who are having spotting/cramps and my heart goes out to you. It's a horrible waiting game.

BUnderTheBonnet · 27/06/2010 17:35

delilah when will you know for sure?

Welcome snapdragon - hope this is a sticky one for you! You've been trying for 18months??? You like your babies close together, don't you!

i feel sick

having great self doubt - I am such a big wuss, why did I think this was a good idea??

snapdragon3 · 28/06/2010 17:27

Bleugh it's awful feeling sick. This early part is tough I think - having to wait and see.

Feelng pretty rough myself today. 2 night shifts and hardly any sleep combined with morning sickness and two rambunctious children I'm finding quite hard today! The heat doesn't help does it?

Been to see the doc this morning and she's referred me to see the midwife tomorrow morning so I might find out fairly soon how far on I am. Could be anything from 4 weeks to 8 weeks!

Madasajarofwasps · 28/06/2010 18:20

Snapdragon you have my sympathies, my little 'angels' have been hard work in this hot weather. All I want is a little snooze to pass the queasiness - no such luck . Hope you find out how far you are soon

spilt it will pass and you will glow . These early stages are pants - more waiting, feeling rough, you can't really announce the news widely. Roll on the first scan ...

I told a friend today. I wasnt really planning to, but then she asked if we were going to have any more children and I couldnt very well say we hadnt decided!! She is most excited, and now it feels more real. I have to say after the initial excitement I have reached a bit of a lull.
I feel rough, I can't blab the news to all the sundry and life goes on. Happy days . Why am I so impatient to meet this baby already!!!

How is everyone else feeling x

spilttheteaagain · 28/06/2010 18:39

Poor you snapdragon that sounds tough. I hope you find out you're a good 8 weeks or so and start feeling better soon.

I really shouldn't moan, I've been on annual leave for a few days and don't have to go to work until Wednesday so I have been able to take it easy. I'm nervous about going to work now I've started feeling rubbish. I have quite a physical job so it will be hard when tired/nauseous.

I know a return to complete sexism in the workplace would be a Bad Thing, but am I alone in thinking how nice it would be to be told 1950s style "Oh right, you're pregnant? Well you'd better stop work then..."

Celia76 · 28/06/2010 18:49

....Welcome new mummies to be!

I have no symptoms at all apart from tiredness. Can't remember what I had in my last two pregnancies, but trying not to worry!

I've booked a viability scan for 7 weeks to reassure myself!

BUnderTheBonnet · 28/06/2010 20:25

What date is your scan, Celia? We can stick them on the list so we can get excited with you!

New symptom over the weekend - I am now allergic to my earrings. This happened when I was pg with my DD. I had to have my ears re-pierced after she was born, because they healed up completely. And a bit sickly feeling. And weeing a lot still. And I'm eating like a horse - that can't be right, surely!

Hi girls, well Im knackered and Not impressed today, a strappy top I was wearing today broke completely under the weight of my humungous bosom, whilst in public too....! Think Im gonna need a much bigger bra very soon....

Spill Im sorry you are feeling so bad already, ginger biscuits? seabands and smelling fresh lemon were all remedies people told me with pg #1. I hope it passes quickly for you..

BUnderTheBonnet I am the same constantly starving too.... gonna be the size of a house I can tell.

celia I have less symptoms than with the other 2. DOnt feel remotely sick or gaggy, just the sore bigus boobus to deal with..... Wish I could afford a viability scan but there is not a chance that DH would agree to it...

snapdragon Im on #3 too, Im currently trying to decide on elective c/s or try for a Vba2c. I dont know what to do for the best. Ive had 2 emergency c/s already...

madasa Ive told far too many people already, but it lovely to see them so happy for us (usually at a moment when DD and DS are being pains in the butt...LOL)

delilahbelle · 28/06/2010 21:26

Hi all
It's def over for me - you don't need the (gory) details I'm sure
Good luck and best wishes - can someone delete me from the stats please? I'll be climbing back on the April/May 2011 bus in time, maybe some of you will pop over and say hi.

Madasajarofwasps · 28/06/2010 21:37

Aw Delilah poor you {{{hugs}}}. I will miss you .

I have had a sneaky look at the April bus and they are all quaffing Pimms and throwing chocolates about. I hope it is a lucky one for you. Take care xxxxx

spilttheteaagain · 28/06/2010 21:52

Allergic to earrings B? That's one I haven't seen listed in pregnancy booklets!

Appetite wise I find I'm hungry often but only eat about 3/4 of what I used to do at one sitting and then start feeling a bit sick. Little and often isn't it? Might buy some travel bands tomorrow to be on the safe side! Nothing like a good placebo

sunchild that made me laugh! How mortifying for you.

Had 1st appointment with midwife today and got given the giant pack of brochures and a massive questionnaire to do for the booking in. Also got blood pressure measured and discovered why I've been feeling faint. It's only 100/45.
