Ah Wallace, I had an extra heart scan last week as my dd has a tiny hole too. They couldn't see anything wrong with this one, which is nice to know. Hope yours goes well too.
Word of warning - don't expect a nice ooh look at the baby scan! They got straight down to business and just looked at the heart the whole time although I did get to see a hand flashing past occasionally!
A friend who had one had 2 blokes who kept muttering between themselves and ten left the room to discuss it without telling her anything and she was terrified there was a problem but her baby was absolutely fine, so don't panic if they do that too. I had a lovely lady who was very reassuring throughout although she was quiet and concentrating a lot too.

CardiCorgi · 22/07/2010 08:41

Everyone is so organised! I have nothing for the baby to wear apart from two vests which probably won't be enough for November. I have ordered a snow suit (complete with teddy-bear ears) after being assured by my friends that it would not be cruel to my child to dress it like that.

Rinny mine is kicking on the left hand side a lot although I don't know if that is because the placenta is cushioning the other side.

Good luck with the scans mumcha and Wallace . I had a heart scan at 21 weeks because my brother has a hole in his heart. Fortunately it's not thought to have any hereditary component, but my doctor said that it was enough that she could get the health insurance to pay for a detailed scan for me and would I like it for reassurance. Everything looked fine.

balijay · 22/07/2010 12:50

Hi everyone - hope you are all ok. Nothing much to report from my end so just checking in to see what everyone else has been up to

Good luck to all those with extra scans.

hmmSleep · 22/07/2010 14:13

Good luck with scans mumcha and wallace.

Wallace, finally posted dress today, it's packaged rather strangely, as usual couldn't find the brown paper or padded envelopes I know are lurking in the house somewhere, so it's wrapped in a plastic bag instead!

Having a panicky few days at the moment, ds is really playing up, non stop tantrums etc, keep wondering how on earth I'm going to cope with 3! Those of you with 3 or more already come and put my mind at rest, my sister has three and she just says she told me I was mad!

kelsuprise · 22/07/2010 15:29

Hi everyone- Can I pls add my stats too

Kelsuprise. 35. Pg2. EDD 04/11/2010. Boy

Also has anyone been told that their placenta is low-lying? I have got another scan booked for 32 weeks which just seems an age of waiting (and worrying).

balijay · 22/07/2010 20:40

Hi kelsuprise and welcome!! I think floating on the ante natal board is a stats thread for Nov 2010, just copy and paste yourself in.

Not too sure about low lying placentas, but have read that it is quite common for them to move up out of the way as the pregnancy progresses - hopefully this will happen in your case

mumcha · 23/07/2010 10:44

Hi all well im defintley getting another little boy ,4mad boys think i will have to steal your user name.My scan went great my doc told me as i have had all my babys at 36 weeks they are going to induce with this 1 aswell so my little boy will be here between the 5th and 12th of october .

Rinnyx · 23/07/2010 12:21

Congrats mumcha

Oh random question, has anyone else had 1 or both leaky nipples?
I just noticed I have a white patch in my bra and then saw abit of leakage coming from my left nipple

balijay · 23/07/2010 12:34

Afternoon all. Congrats on your little boy mumcha !! And the middle of Oct - gosh that really isn't that far away is it?

Rinnyx no haven't had any leakage yet but am only just 23 weeks - not sure how many weeks you are?

Just back from DS awards/leaving ceremony (he goes to secondary school in Sept) and omg I was a crying wreck!! So were lots of the mums though (and some of the kids too) and at least I can blame part of it on pregnancy hormones

bytheMoonlight · 23/07/2010 12:39

I am a lurker on this thread (tis very big and moves too fast for me) but just thought I'd post to let Rinnyx know that I am 25 weeks and have been leaking from both nipples.

Have just bought the breast pads!

Rinnyx · 23/07/2010 12:59

balijay I am 25 weeks on Monday
And were does the time go, DD will be in year 3 come September, I still remember DP and I looking around the school for nursery

Thanks bytheMoonlight and welcome

balijay · 23/07/2010 16:34

I know Rinny its ridiculous isn't it? I also have a DD going into yr 3 in sept Makes me v determined to enjoy every moment with this one (Note to self : must remember this during the sleepless nights to come!!)

Wallace · 23/07/2010 19:30

Arrived today hmmsleep and PIdgin. Fit perfectly! You are both angels

Fenouille · 23/07/2010 21:37

Hello Kelsuprise I also have a low lying placenta but my gyn said not to worry about it yet. She said as the uterus expands it will normally move up and out of the way.

Congrats on the good scan news mumcha Glad you're joining us October squatters on this thread

And no leaking nipples here (26 weeks). Can't touch my toes though any more, does that count?

I've just been reading the I'm not being rude but ... thread and having a bit of a chuckle. Not having reactions half as bad as some of those but I keep being wolf whistled at in the street. It's most odd, I don't think I've ever been whistled at before and it's definitely aimed at me - one chap did it today as he walked right past me trying to catch my eye, another did it last week from a van driving past, both times I've been the only person around. Don't know whether to be flattered or insulted

Perhaps it's a French men thing?

Sabie · 23/07/2010 22:33

Hey everyone,

it's been ages since I posted. Gone crazy at work, so I'm just knackered in the evenings. Flump has definitely turned to bump! Even getting seat occasionally on the Tube!

Had a quick scan of last couple of pages, you guys are scaring me with what you've got organised.....I've been given a buggy and that's it. AND, leaky boobs...really.... already! I'm only at 22 weeks so, not for me yet but I think I should learn about breast pads quickly.

Finding that maternity clothes are so boring, having been cheating with tops a side up but have had to get proper mat. trousers. 'Next' seems to be best but GAP is worst by far. Had a hot tip that George at Asda was good.
Anyone been?

Well hope not to leave it so long next time...

shoppingstar · 24/07/2010 08:56

Hi Sabie, I think the stock in a particular shop branch can vary a lot for all maternity clothes stockists. My friend was raving about H&M but the one here has a small/boring range. When I went to visit her branch I found 2 lovely tops for £12 each. My experience of Asda was disappointing - I drove 10 miles to the branch which does stock maternity clothes and they had one rack of leggings and a couple of tops. I'm liking Dorothy Perkins and Next but also still finding non-mat clothes which are doing the trick.

Fenouille I giggled my way trough that thread. I have only had 1 bump touching experience and no size comments so far but I expect that may change over the next couple of weeks.

Moonlight I'm off to buy breast pads today just in case. Thanks for the heads up.

mumcha congratulations on your scan.

Has anyone who was thinking about a 3D scan been for one yet? I'm thinking about it but also not sure when would be best to go.

Rinnyx · 24/07/2010 11:30

Thankfully not leaky boobs today, yay

Oh Fenouille I have had that, feel more disgusted than flattered, I had 2 men must of been in their mid 20's not hide the fact they were having a good look at my boobs
Some men just dont seem to care, another in a white van had a good head turn as he drove past me walking DD home from school, I shouted what at him cause it bugged me so much

Sabie I went to my local ASDA and got afew nice items and their legging are so cheap £5, other places are atleast £10+

Still not dressed yet haha but have done afew paint test pacthes on the office/bedroom walls this morning

PrivetDancer · 24/07/2010 12:14

shoppingstar I'm planning on having a 3d scan at around 28 weeks. Think that's the ideal sort of time to go - baby big enough to see well but still room to move. Something to look forward to too

Sabie · 24/07/2010 16:07

Thanks for Asda advice shopping & Rinnyx. It's smartish trousers for work that seem hard to come by. Jeans, leggings and jeggings are just not ok at work but I think i'm getting flabby legs so skirts aren't exactly flattering either!

Have been looking at reusable nappies today. Anyone else thinking of using these? I'm sorry to ask but what do you do with the 'solids' in a nappy? I presume you don't just chuck in the washing machine??? (I realise I have a steep learning curve to climb!)

Rinnyx; what colour you going for in nursery?

Rinnyx · 24/07/2010 17:02

Sabie I dont know if you have a blooming near you but I picked up a pair of black bottoms Thursday, were £30 down to £3, have them on today, thought they would be hot in thie weather but they are ok.
I'll have to post a pic DD just took

DP picked a color called Lauran in the B&Q range, kind of like a very pale choco milkshake but I did find a light blue left by the people we bought the house off so might do 1 or 2 walls one color and the others the other color.

Rinnyx · 24/07/2010 17:27

These are 2 of my 3 buys I got at blooming
Bottoms £3, top £9, please take no note of the dusty mirror

sancerrre · 24/07/2010 18:31

Hi, lurker here, (34, PG1, EDD 23 Nov). Sabie just wanted to answer your question on reusable nappies as I've just ordered mine after many hours research and have deveoped a bit of an obsession with it. You put a liner in, either a flushable one so it all goes down the loo, or a washable one, which is made of fleece and they say the poos fall off it easily so you can put them down the loo. Think you must still get some poo in the washing machine but can do a pre wash or wet pail them beforehand. I did the questionnaire on www.thenappylady.co.uk where you say which factors are most important to you and they make a recommendation. I've gone for the two parters as apparently they're the most leakproof. HTH.

tiany · 24/07/2010 19:22

Breast pads... just bought some today as trying gradually get the basics in but didnt realise i might need them soon!!! Crazy!!

Fenouille laughing at the whistling... seems a bit inappropriate doesnt it?

Tube - have found some people are fantastic and get up as soon as they spot you but others look and pretend not to notice... at this stage its pretty obvious i have a bump and not just ate too much at dinner ;o)

Back been hurting a lot lately... found my chiropractor and massage therapist have been great though.. recommend combination to anyone with back pain!

bytheMoonlight · 24/07/2010 21:34

Still lurking!

I bought these from Next.

Very light and comftable, even in the hot weather. Also quick turnover time re. wash and drying.
