Just read you are bleeding again balijay, when I had my big bleed at 12 weeks I did a lot of googling and the most comforting thing I found was that well over 90% of pregnancies are completely normal if bleeding occurs after 12 weeks, I am in the same boat and bleeding intermittently, you and baby will be fine but it does get you down, why dont you speak to the midwife and see if she can arrange a scan for you, I felt much better when I could see the heamatoma on screen and could picture where the blood was coming from, as others have said the brown blood is old and the bleed has already happened.

tiany · 12/06/2010 14:34

Sabie i am 18 weeks today and only started to feel the kicks earlier this wk so i am sure you will start to feel them soon!

balijay the bleeding can be so stressful but it does happen a lot in pregnancy so as long as your m/w says baby is ok try to focus on that. I had bleeding, my friend is a nurse though and said its really common. Just got to m/w as often as you need to keep your mind at ease.

Nobdy has noticed i am pg yet but a man on the tube copped it yesterday and gave me his seat. Was very sweet but according to DH i turned tomato red. still i was very happy to sit down ;)

Fenouille · 12/06/2010 14:49

sarah, balijay and comtessa: hope you're all having relaxing Saturdays after your difficult weeks.

I guess everyone's out enjoying the sun? It's Le Mans weekend in the F household so I can't get DH to shift his bum off the sofa. Oh well, I've sorted out all the bank account and health insurance bits and bobs this morning so its not all bad

The big news here though is that DH felt his first kick! I've been feeling loads of movements over the last few days (real thumps rather than bubbles) and while DH had his hand on my tummy the foetus gave me a massive wallop, my tummy gave a huge twitch and cue massive smiles from DH

cluelessnchaos · 13/06/2010 10:38

How is everyone today? All very quiet again. I had loads of sleep last night for the first time in ages except am now waking up on my back feeling sick and breathless as if someone is sitting on my chest, trying to stay on my side but tend to roll on my back

Fenouille · 13/06/2010 12:50

Hi clueless, I'm still here (Le Mans finishes in 1 1/4 hrs!)

You must be feeling great after your goodnight's sleep Re the back sleeping: I read a tip about wedging a pillow under your back to stop you fully rolling onto it in your sleep. Maybe worth a try?

tanmu82 · 13/06/2010 15:47

Hey all, haven't been on in a while so just got caught up with the 4 pages since I last was on!

congrats to poster who found out they are having a boy - apologies but name has slipped my mind now that I come to actually post! I have my 20 wk scan when I am almost 21 weeks, and I am most def gonna find out if it's a boy or girl - I am really hoping girl, but as long as it's healthy it doesn't matter.

Here in Oxfordshire, for your 3rd baby you get very infrequent MW apps. I had my last one at 15 weeks and won't see the MW again until 28weeks! I was quite surprised that the majority of my pg would pass unmonitored....I can go to the drop in anytime if there are problems/worries though, so am just relaxing and enjoying the time.

Enjoy the rest of your sunday!

cluelessnchaos · 13/06/2010 15:59

Just been to get measured for new bras again 32D, feels huge compared to my usual b cup, I only bought 3 if I carry on at this rate I will be back in a month. I was planning to buy a big nursing pillow to wedge myself into to stop me rolling about I had one for last time and I am not sure what I did with it but it was bliss.

hmmSleep · 13/06/2010 16:17

Clueless I've done a bit of reading up on sleeping positions, and the general consensus is whichever position you feel most comfortable with is fine. Apparently sleeping on your back may cause slight faintness/dizziness, but very unlikely to effect baby at all, especially as we tend to move about naturally in our sleep anyway. It's only really much later in pregnancy, and then only high risk pregnancies that we need to worry. So try not to worry if you occasionally find yourself on your back.

I have my scan on Thursday, I'll be 21 weeks exactly. Still can't decide if I want to know sex or not. DH really doesn't, so think I'll go along with that but sneakily try and see if I can spot any telltale signs.

cluelessnchaos · 13/06/2010 16:40

Thanks hmmsleep, not so much worried as being woken by breathlessness as if someone is on my chest or constricting my throat, I didnt expect it this early at all, but will order my pillow and see if that helps, I think I saw the sex at my scan at 17 weeks, and have told dh but noone else in case I am wrong, I saw in 2 of my previous pregnancies but not til much later on, I have another scan booked for 2 weeks time so will be having another good look to see if I was right.

Gaga82 · 13/06/2010 17:05

clueless I am the same with the sleep, though just the breathlessness, constriction feeling must be horrid. I have been using a pillow I had passed to me, and just roll off it every night and end up on my back!

hmmsleep I am not finding out sex, Dh is desperate to, but as this is number 1 I want the surprise and to make sure I buy unisex things!!

Fenouille · 13/06/2010 18:29

Gaga phew! I was beginning to feel like the odd one out here for not wanting to find out the sex. DH says he doesn't mind but every time someone asks he answers, "F doesn't want to find out."

hmm Will you be able to keep it secret from DH if you do manage to spot something? One of the many reasons I don't want to know is that I'd never be able to resist telling people and I wouldn't want to share that kind of news with anyone other than DH. I know, I know, I'm very old fashioned

addictedisalmosthalfway · 13/06/2010 18:58

hello everyone, you all talk to fast and too much i keep loosing you then you go and start a new thread!

hmmsleep, i have my scan on thursday too, i'll be 20 weeks exactly and cant wait to find out if its a girl or boy, dh wont let me buy anything untill we know as if we buy unisex stuff he knows as soon as the baby is born i will just go out and re-buy what we have already bought plus more but gender specific i just cant help it! so we have to find out

although i did buy a gorgeous 2nd hand winter coat for £4 last week, its so tiny, i cant believe how small it is. its only been worn twice, never been washed and was a bargin at a carboot sale so i had to get it! plus the little boy who had worn it was selling it himself he must have been about 4 he said he was raising the money to buy some new toys...stupid pg hormones!

mumcha · 13/06/2010 19:07

hi all im so jealous of the people that can find out if they r having a boy or girl .its my hospitals policy not to tell but im gona ask anyway.

Wallace · 13/06/2010 20:10

We don't want to find out the sex, but it doesn't stop me peeking during scans

Have been feeling more flutters and dh woke me in the night to tell me he felt the baby kick. I didn't have the heart to tell him that it is probably just wind he's feeling...

I can't lie on my right side because it gives me horrendous heartburn, nor my left side because it makes my stomach feel uncomfortable. Obviously I can't really lie on my front either, so that leaves my back....

tiany · 13/06/2010 20:37

I dint want to find out the sex either, we want a surprise but lot of people seem to think i am having a boy cause so far weight just going on my tummy and its all to the front. old wives tales but we'll see !

DH felt kick yesterday too while we were watching tv, baby was going wild in there so he felt one of the stronger "kicks" i think its more of a head butt... otherwise i have a serious little striker in there

Rinnyx · 13/06/2010 20:47

Good luck on your scans hmmSleep and addicted incase I dont get online again til after

I am due to have my scan 25th June and will be almost 21weeks but I am hoping to find out the sex, DP is now saying he dont know but I think he is just trying to wind me up.
I am hoping for a boy as already have a DD and DP does not want anymore after this but we will see sex wise and him not wanting a 3rd haha

Baby has been getting more active and stronger kicks but still DD and DP say they can not feel anything also my lower back pain is getting worse, keep forgetting to not slouch back on the sofa if not helping I think

hmmSleep · 13/06/2010 20:52

I didn't find out the sex with dd or ds, really wanted a surprise and find it a bit odd that I'm tempted this time. Fenouille, I'm edging towards not looking for that exact reason, I'm terrible at keeping secrets. Just not sure I'll be able to stop myself from trying to see something! Hope you get a good view on Thursday addicted .

Still most of all you with baby movements, kicks! 20 weeks now and I'm lucky if I feel a slight 2 second flutter once every few days!

Rinnyx · 13/06/2010 21:04

Just think of it this way hmmSleep we will get sick of the kicks alot sooner than you haha x

I remember with DD at first it was all oohhh and wow and by the end I was fed up with it all, didnt help she always seemed to kick off at bed time or when she was resting my mum would prod my belly to P her off and get her moving again

Loooopy · 14/06/2010 10:36

crikey, whenever i go away with work i come back to find out i have missed loads of postings on here!

Will catch up properly this week, but in the meantime, i'm looking for some clothes suggestions from anyone who has the time to post!

Some close friends are getting married mid Aug, i will be 28 weeks gone by then. DP has been asked to be an usher, and i don't want to turn up looking like a scruffy frump.

I am 5 ft 2, and since falling pg my boobs have ballooned to an F cup. I was under no illusion that pre-pg i was overweight, but i was happy enough wearing size 14 clothes - however boobs now mean i need size 18 tops, and if they grow much bigger then i'll be in size 20

I am eating as healthily as i can (whilst ignoring the horrid midwife for anyone who kindly responded to my raaaaahhh posting a couple of weeks ago!) and so far i've put on 4lb and am 18 weeks 2 days. But nevertheless, i am dreading finding something that will look smart, yet be cool to wear as i imagine it'll be a hot day, and yet will be flattering to my body shape and not make me look like a beach ball...i don't like short length dresses as i don't like my legs, but i also have the issue that most long dresses are maxi dresses which are too long for my height!

anyone seen anything they could post any links to that might be suitable?

Rinnyx · 14/06/2010 12:09

I would say ebay it, I bought a lovely dress in new look but was just not 100% on it but all other shops had failed me in size price or just looking nice then yesterday I won a fab maternity dress from Next for £9.99 even with p&p it was still half the price
I will be almost 31weeks for my friends wedding in September

hmmSleep · 14/06/2010 12:29

Loooopy, I agree with Rinnyx that ebay is a good place to try, but here are a few I found that I thought were a good length and you could wear a good supporting bra under. Hope you find someting!

Loooopy - I wore this dress to a wedding on Saturday. I'm 5'3" with (currently) humungous boobs, and it looked very nice, I thought.

Or there's a site called 'peasinapod' (I think) which hires out designer maternity gear. I'm going to look at that for a smart evening wedding-party in September.

Sorry to hear about nasty pains and bleeding. Hope you're all feeling ok today.

I just had my 20 week check with the GP, plus a long-overdue smear. What a delightful way to spend the morning.

Still got to wait another three weeks for my scan, but baby is kicking and hiccoughing away. (It's a weird feeling isn't it, Rinny).

Ebb · 14/06/2010 14:19

I had my fetal echo today and was very relieved to be given the all clear although the Consultant did say some conditions do develop after birth but it was a relief to know there's nothing serious at the moment. We will be due to see Ds's Consultant fairly soon after the baby is born so will probably get him to check it anyway.

Half way through the fetal echo all the fire alarms went off so I had to 'dejellify' my belly and head down numerous stairs and out the fire exit! I did feel sorry for any women who might have been in labour but as the delivery suite is on the ground floor, I suspect they just kept them there. Eventually the firemen gave the all clear so we all trapsed back upstairs and I finished the scan. Actually moving put the baby in a better position so it was a good thing really and DS loved seeing the fire engines! The baby was playing hide and seek and is quite low down still. I have my anomoly scan on the 25th so I might start relaxing a bit after that!

I suspect I'm having another boy which I'd be delighted with but I think one of each is nice too. I'll probably find out but won't tell people.

I'm still not feeling any real movement. Occassionally I think I feel something but I'm not convinced. I had a low placenta last time and didn't feel baby until quite late. This one is low and occassionally I feel a 'poke' on my bladder.

I hope everyones scans go well and you have a good week.

harmonyb23 · 14/06/2010 14:41

Hi everyone, had my early Down Syndrome Blood test results back today. My blood test gave the result of 1 in 2200 likelihood that the baby will have Down Syndrome so I will not be required to have any further testing. So happy as this is a good result, I understand it may not mean that the baby will definitely not be born with Down Syndrome but it is quite good odds that it won't be!!!

Suffering with a really bad headache today and feeling a bit tired. Will probably perk up later at aerobics once there are some endorphins in my system. Really glad I have started exercising again, it helps to get out of the house and makes me feel more awake.

Still waiting for DP to be able to feel baby movements. I seem to be feeling movements more and more, just wish he didn't have to feel so left out!

CardiCorgi · 14/06/2010 14:50

Fenouille Tegernsee is lovely, isn't it? Hmm, that's an idea for next Sunday if the weather is nice. Actually, I think we were in your neck of the woods a couple of weeks ago - a week near the Pyrenees and a day in Toulouse.

I've gone from flumpy to having a real bump in a matter of days. Is this normal? I think everyone at work knows now, still getting to nearly half-way without them noticing is not too bad. have already had advice on where to give birth, what pram to buy and been told that we will need a bigger car (I don't think so).

Am also having trouble finding a dress for a wedding. DH has said that I can get away with something low-key as I have a good excuse, but I really want to feel pretty. I loved the crave dresses, but they are all sold out in my size.
