bonkerz · 06/08/2005 13:50

NOW IM [ENVY]!!Portugal!!!! Im just off to blackpool!!!!
The cot has been in my ds room under the bed for a year now as it was bought for our first child whom we lost. Is sad and happy all mixed in. Feel like ive moved on slightly and in some strange way am honouring my baby who would have been due in feb 2005. Have also put in the cot some things that we bought for second baby who was due on 12th aug 2005 and it feels nice in a perverse way IYKWIM

Morning all,

S/H,
MAternity can't come soon enough here aswell, But like you i want to stay at work for as long as i can and take the leave afterwards. But its coming fast (i think) we only have 4 months till bubas arrive.. I have lists everywhere of what we need.. DP is away this wkend and the peace and quiet was great but have to sat i miss him loads and cant wait till he is home this evening. (and show his all the list i have).

Nemo, Scully
Wishing you all the best with your scans, The nerves are always there when these thing are happening. I know i will be the same when its my scan.

DQ,
Sorry your scan news was'nt 100%, I am sure in OCt they will rule the soft marker out. But agree scans are the only and best way in pregnancy.

Well i have jam and butter all over the desk !! (slob) So before i really stick i better go. All well here had a lovely relaxing quiet wkend and i am off to vist my mum and dad. My gran will be there and she is going a bit forgetfull but she always has me in stiches.

dramaqueen72 · 07/08/2005 22:10

very quiet ladies. sigh......
minnie, what did dh say to his lists? i am also very much a list person they are quite scary when its headed 'things needed for baby' or similar arent they?!! john lewis actually do a printed out one of 'things you need', i tell you its so long it scared me to death and I've had babies before!!!
and have a nice break at your parents.

george32 · 08/08/2005 08:29

Morning everyone.
You can tell it was nice & sunny yesterday with it being so quiet on here. Hope everyone had a good day.
Minnie, hope you had a good time at your parents.
Scully, is your scan today? Good luck if so.
Nemo, I have no nails left on my fingers I am so nervous about tomorrow. How are you doing? I just want it to be over & everything fine.

I am very happy about one thing today though............I can finally drink tea again!! Oh, how I've missed it, but I can finally get a cup down without feeling queasy.

bonkerz · 08/08/2005 08:34

Morning all, Am off today for a well earned break so thats why i wont post till wed at least!

Freds gone all quiet on the kicking front, heartbeats ok but bump looks different so am assuming hes just moved into a strange position. Have been getting really bad pains in my right hip so think everythings stretched as well which would give him more room!

Feel queasy today but maybe thats just cos i know we have a long drive today and stuff and was excited last night so didnt get much sleep.

Goodluck all of you with scan before wed. mine isnt for another 16 days!!

Morning all,

Had a lovely time at mum and dads, There is nothing like your mums sunday roast!!! I could have rolled all the way home yesterday!! My Nan though i was my younger sister and got rightly confused when my yonger sister came in!!!

DQ,
Was out cold when Dp came home, But i have 3 A4 pages now!!! what i need at home and hospital!!!! Will be on to DP this evening i really think he could be in the state of when he sees them!!! i know i was.. This little bundle is going to be quiet expensive...

How was all your wkends?

scully · 08/08/2005 08:54

Wow Minnie, 3 pages! that is impressive! I was proud of myself this weekend, actually bought the baby it's first two outfits (decided it couldn't live entirely in it's sister's hand-me-downs!) & I managed to clean out dd's 2 sets of drawers and empty out 3 of them, to put baby things in. Going to try and make do with that, and one of those drawers that roll underneath the cot, and a change table that fits across the top of the cot.
Scan is at 4pm today, quite excited about it now. DH and DD are coming along as well, can't wait to see DD's face when she realises what she's looking at on the screen!

george32 · 08/08/2005 09:06

Bonkerz, where are you off to? You are so lucky having this weather for your break.
Nemo, I was the same last night. One minute terrified, the next excited, argh!!! Please let it be over!!

Spoke to my DP about perhaps buying someting for the baby after the scan but he wants to wait until 30 weeks!! We had a talk about it & he is still terrified that something will go wrong and doesn't want to jinx anything. I think I forget sometimes that everything happens to him too, he really is a sensitive soul sometimes. I think I will have to make some lists too just to get things off & moving.

Nemo1977 · 08/08/2005 09:18

bonkerz has gone to blackpool george..

scully · 08/08/2005 09:35

A list always helps you feel like you're doing something George, and at least when you are ready to go shopping, you will have had lots of time to think of exactly what you want!
We're not going to convert our spare room into a nursery yet, we regularly have people stay and the computer is also in there, so easier left as a study for now. DD was in our room for the first 4mths, so I think we'll do that this time as well, plenty of space for a cot and nappy changing bits and pieces you need.

Nemo1977 · 08/08/2005 09:36

scully we had ds in with us for 2mths but we sort of have to move things around quickly this time as dont want ds to feel ousted...although will admit when pg with ds his room was ready by around 30wks...mainly because i was convinced i would have him by 34weeks as most other pregnancies in our family went early..typical me went againts norm at 42+1wks..arghhhhhhhh

sweetheart · 08/08/2005 10:10

so much chatter!!!

I can feel a long post coming on - just to catch up with you lot

Lot's of scans this week - good luck to everyone, I'm sure you'll all have a fantastic time.

DQ, sorry to hear your scan wasn't 100% positive. I know that you will worry no matter how rare it is for anything to be wrong so I hope and pray that you get some positive news in October. I'm sure everything will be fine.

DQ, Minnie - I make lists for everything too. Infact I've been a bit too bored at work recently and have actually done spread sheets with everything on. I've also included budgets to stick to so I know how much it will all cost - I daren't show dh, I think he'll be very very .

Oh the heartburn front - I had it with dd for the last month. No such luck here, I've already started suffering from it. I have to say I know Gaviscon is disgusting stuff but if you gulp it down and then gag for a few mins it really does work!!! The other thing I've heard of is almonds. Haven't tried it myself so I'm not sure if it's true ot not though.

Have had an e-mail from ninah today to say she's well - just back from a lovly holiday . I'm sure she'll post once she's caught up on everything!!!!

Very of all your holidays. Dh and I have decided to look into buying a caravan so we can go off for weekends.

Right, think thats it - sorry if this has turned into a massive post
How's everyone else????

scully · 08/08/2005 10:11

We're looking at selling this house early next year, so am hoping to avoid moving this baby out of our room or rearranging dd's room too much. Will just have to see how we go though. I did start sorting through her toys yesterday though, so see what was baby friendly that we hadn't put in the loft. She thought it was all very exciting!

MINNIE1 · 08/08/2005 11:01

sweetheart,
love the caravan idea, Always wanted one. DP is thinking of a camper van, but it will be a while b4 we can do that.

bonkerz,
Hope you have a nice break.

My lists are getting longer!!!! cause this is the first i have to buy all new!! not that i mind DP might though. he he he

george32 · 08/08/2005 11:45

SH, good idea with the caravan but I would be too scared to tow it, they never look too stable!! Then again it would save you tons of money being able to stay away whenever you want for the cost of pitching it.

Big news from me.......just been up to see HR & I have a leaving date........14th October!!
I have a few weeks hol to take so my actual maternity starts on the 6th Nov but I'm out of the office in 10 weeks time - woohoo!

sweetheart · 08/08/2005 11:48

george - I'm so !!!!! You lucky lady!!!

On the caravan front - dh is a HGV driver so although I would find towing a caravan very scary it's no problem at all for dh!!!

scully · 08/08/2005 12:04

gosh, 10wks will fly by George! love the caravan/camper idea - we've got as far as wanting to upgrade our tent to something bigger
dd loved camping when we went last month, so we thought next summer with 2 will be affordable and fun, as long as the English weather holds out!

dramaqueen72 · 08/08/2005 12:27

I'd love a caravan -v fond memories from childhood- but doubt we could find one big enough for us all now. unless we got two......and then its actually cheaper to go to portugal!! my inlaws own large house in portugal so we just go there - i just have to time it as to when they arent there too for the perfect holiday! I admit i cant wait. I'm going to do very little aside from sun and shop. will milk 'am pg cant do anything much' to the limit after rushing around here since the 'big' ones broke up. maybe last chance to put feet up before baby!
george bet you cant wait for those ten wks to fly by! how very exciting for you. and the scan tomorrow will be fabulous. you're going to be floating around on cloud nine.
