So heres to US and our BABIES!!

May our beans Kick and our nurseries be sorted!

Nemo1977 · 22/08/2005 08:33

morning all
hope you all had a good weekend. I am feeling a bit more refreshed and human this week. On saturday I took ds to camelot theme park as we were given free tickets and I took a picnic so only spent grand total of £1.50 on a inflatable ball and chain thing..something to do with the jousting..lol
Then yesterday I took ds to a noddy event thing which cost me a grand total of £6.50 as i took picnic etc again. Ds loved it and had his pic taken with noddy and a few others. So busy weekend which also resulted in a sleeping son and me going to bed at 8pm both nights..lol
Went to pil for tea last night which was nice and mil gave me the money i had paid for the marco sky and some extra so my tax credits deficit this month has pretty much been covered which is fab and takes the stress off a bit.
ok should really stop gibbering away will catch up with you all later
take care
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Nemo,

really glad to hear you had a good weekend. I'm sure it's just what you needed to blow some cobwebs away

Ei, lovely to hear that you've finished the nursery. I would recommend Kiddiecare for furniture - thats where we brought ours from and it's really good quality for the price!!!

kangel · 22/08/2005 09:53

Morning all...

Just thought I'd share with you all that I have just tipped a whole mug of hot ovaltine all over my paper covered desk!

Last week I poured coke into my keyboard and broke it!!

I really shouldn't be allowed to have drinks on my desk.

Am 6 months today!! And feeling quite tearful.......but...................Nursery furniture is being delivered tomorrow!!!!!!!

sweetheart · 22/08/2005 13:48

Hello, goodness it's quiet today - does that mean everyone is hiding from the rain!!!

Just popped into town and brought a little t-shirt for the bubba.

Feeling quite uncomfortable today - everything seems to be creeping really high up making it hard to breath.

How is everyone else anyway??? Did you all have good weekends?

ebbie22 · 22/08/2005 14:33

ei23mummy · 22/08/2005 16:39

howdy everyone!! sounds like everyone had good weekends!! i did too!! i finally finished one of my assignments for uni and handed it in today!! yay so i treated myself to a bit of a shopping spree- which my dp isnt too happy about!! hehe i got some nice mat jeans tho-theyre sooooo comfy! an two little long-sleeved vests for the bub
hope everyone is ok!

bonkerz · 22/08/2005 17:57

Hi all, also had a good weekend, took kids to leicester on sat and spent some money on baby clothes etc. Dh got the border for the nursery all on his own and its quite nice!!
Been out all day with mindees so not too stressed except when we got back i rang for some advice on maternity allowance for self employed people only to be told i will not get it due to no NI contributions and instead of £106 a week i will only get £52 Incapacity benefit! Started blubbing down phone to woman who was quite nasty to me saying that i should pay NI, told her i had an exemption cert because of my small earnings and she basically said i was tight because i didnt pay NI!! I DIDNT THINK I HAD TOO cos ive paid it for 11 years!!
Anyway rang NI who have said if i pay £63 they can back date it for 30 weeks (feb till sept) which means i can claim full MA!!!!! Now why didnt the lady at benefits tell me that!!
What sort of a system is it that a woman can work and pay NI for 11 years and then not pay £2.10p per week for 9 months and lose all entitlement to an allowance??/

GUESS WHAT THERES A MAY 06 THREAD

Look at all us ladies still here, getting fatter and fatter by the minuite.

What a fabulous day - I bet some of us never thought we'd see.

Blimey - thats really cheered me up today can you tell!!!!!!!!!!

ei23mummy · 23/08/2005 11:42

woah that means that theres less time now before our babies are due!! how scarey is that!!
those ladies on the may 06 thread must only be a few weeks gone then! aaaagh!
bonkerz, i think the people on the phones for the benefits get special training to make you feel bad! im glad you got the prob sorted out tho!!
how is everyone today?
i think im gettin a cold cos im all bunged up an cant stop sneezin! either that or its hay fever!
hey is it ok that im still more excited by the prospect of a nice cuppa (an some choccie bickies) than i am about spendin some 'intimate' time with my dp?- sorry to lower the tone!! i think hes feelin neglected!!

expatinscotland · 23/08/2005 11:46

My mum was so annoying last night on the phone. She's still under the perception that pregnancy is 9 months. In what calendar does 40 weeks = 9 months? She lives 5,000 miles away, and sometimes I forget how irritating she can be. She can't understand why my joints hurt so much - gees, maybe it's all that titanium in my knees and those 4 surgeries to put them there - or why they don't weigh women during pregnancy. I always have to be careful about my weight, b/c excess poundage does make my joints ache, but well, I'm pregnant.

I'm SO glad I'm no longer living in a place where they treat pregnancy like a serious illness.

She forgot her pregnancies and what they were like. Of course she would, her kids are 38 and 34.

Sigh! I don't have the patience for her sometimes and I'm glad they'll be staying in an inn down the road when they come over.

ninah · 23/08/2005 11:55

expat! I am after you, I watched Pet Semetary on Friday night after seeing you mention it as a film you'd NEVER see again! well I thought maybe that was cos it was scary, but now I've seen it, yes, I will NEVER see it again!
Sorry about your mum. Mine was great, and I wish she'd lived nearer in fact I really REALLY miss her and I'm so sorry she won't know about her second grandchild.

expatinscotland · 23/08/2005 12:02

Ninah
DON'T read the book. It is far, far eerier than the film. EEewwww. Shudders.

ei23mummy · 23/08/2005 12:03

my mum only lives down the road! its nice to have her so close sometimes except when shes bein interferin!- thats like most of the time!! i still wouldnt want her to be too far away tho- what if i need a babysitter after the bub is born!!- selfish i know but what are mums for!!!

ninah · 23/08/2005 12:11

this time I hear you expat!
and it wasn't the eerie part that got me so much as ... it was so sad! when he is giving his little boy the injection ...
you can just imagine wanting to bring him back at any cost

expatinscotland · 23/08/2005 12:14

Aw, ninah! That cry he gave. Sounds like my 2-year-old girl when she cries, which is most often when she doesn't get her way .

Mum just doesn't seem to remember what it's like to be pregnant. She also had planned c-sections (my elder sister was breeched and back then they use to do these vertical incisions, so I was a scheduled c-section) so the whole labour and delivery thing escapes her. As does breast-feeding.

She is terrific with babies, though, so it will be awesome to have her around. My dad is good w/babies, too, but he's even better w/young kids, so he can't wait to play w/DD.

sweetheart · 23/08/2005 12:25

Yeah - some people to talk to

Expat - I frequently have the 9 months argument with my dh!! It's so frustrating isn't it!!! I can sympathise on the mother score too!!! I have to admit my mum is noramlly brilliant and I love her to pieces but she has upset me a little just recently. The good thing is she knows it so she's being very nice at the moment

Ei, can't help you on the low libedo I'm affraid - I've been feeling rather smoochie just lately!!!

ninah · 23/08/2005 12:26

oh yes, that cry, and the look
my ds too! oh dear. Well I will listen to you in future!
I do remember my mum telling me labour didn't hurt a bit lol! she had a terrible time losing twins full term so I got off lightly in comprison. It is so great to see them with the babies, though, isn't it! I have a lovely picture of ds with mum. We don't see dp's mother a lot though she does remember birthdays and so on. I think what you say about getting more interested later on is generally true of grandads! I am trying to persuade dad to stay at Xmas ... although he has health stuff now so goodness knows what will happen

expatinscotland · 23/08/2005 12:33

She's just a natural w/babies. And Dad, he looks so proud. I love how he talks to them and sings them lullabies in Spanish.

This will be his fourth and last grandchild so he's looking forward to it.
