what awful weather, well in London anyway......hope it's not raining like this tomorrow, for our drive to Scotland
I know, bit of a reality check with the baby's size, seems to have creapt up on us
My beach ball is definitely getting bigger each week though, I can tell from which windows I can reach to close and trying to comfortable on the sofa now

sweetheart · 19/08/2005 09:34

Awful weather here too - pouring with rain and thunder storms all night.

This morning is the first time in ages I've worn sock and shoes as apposed to sandles.

I had such trouble putting them on this morning!!! Thats my version of your windows scenario scully!!!!

ninah · 19/08/2005 09:42

Awful here too, black sky about to thunder
No no news about starry as far as I know - do hope she's OK - are you there starry?
people can't believe it when I say I'm due at Xmas as I look ready to drop already
bonkerz all your cravings are savory does it mean something I wonder
Nemo, how are you today?

scully · 19/08/2005 10:03

I'm starting to wonder when people ask me when I'm due, and then look surprised when I say Dec
DD was 6lb7oz - think I will put in an order for one around that size again; bald like she was would also be nice

ninah · 19/08/2005 10:08

why bald?! does it help???
ds had lovely hair then it fell out and he was bald for ages, he's 3 in Dec and has only had one trim so far! he looked really weird in his toddler clothes and big bald head

sweetheart · 19/08/2005 10:11

ha ha - I've had that to the "OH, your not due until Decmeber" look

Especially when I'm standing with my SIL - she is due in September and I'm bigger than her (mind you she's a skinny little thing)

With my family history, heartburn, and the fact that dd was 8Ib 1oz I'd huess that this bubba is gonna be at least 9Ib!!!! Thats a very frightning thought!!!

Nemo's on msn - will see how she's doing for you ninah.

Nemo1977 · 19/08/2005 10:11

hi all
Weather is ok here..so far. Not a lot going on apart from fact Ds slept in till 7am then woke up in a lovely mood saying hello to everyone and giving kisses then he said a load of words really clearly that he hasnt said before so was lovely. Things are not going to well otherwise as stupid Tax Credits have stopped our payments saying we were overpaid as when I notified them of a change in feb they didnt change it on the system but i didn think anything was wrong as payment went down by £24 a month so we are now £170 a month worse off and we were already on a tight budget so spent most of yesterday in tears...although bonkerz did cheer me up a bit. I just dont want to post much as I seem to be all doom and gloom but thats how things seem to be at the minute. Am also going to have to pull out of secret stork as I just cant afford it
Hey ho its a roller coaster ride.

sweetheart · 19/08/2005 10:12

whoops, meant to say 9Ib with a full head of hair!!!

Nemo1977 · 19/08/2005 10:14

lol SH nothign wrong with 9lb baby...ds was 9lb 1 and was over and done in 90min labour

ninah · 19/08/2005 10:16

nemo! we want to know how you are, don't mind hearing doom and gloom stuff just for you
Keep hearing awful stories about tax credits, what a darn shambles. is there any way you can negotiate them to pay it off in smaller instalments over a longer period? since it IS their mistake. Don't they realise how pple live grrrr
Well if it's alright with you I'd like your details from dq to send you a card even if we are not storking you x

sweetheart · 19/08/2005 10:18

yes me too - I'm gonna stork you anyway

Nemo1977 · 19/08/2005 10:27

is that stork or stalk?????????????lol

Ninah I have phoned them to ask for a appeal against their claim so am waiting for that to come so can get ball rolling. Its just annoying as we really are skint and now the prospect of another baby and xmas and ds 2nd bday looming is really upsetting me rather than being happy time. I am just glad i bought wallpaper and my double pram last week before I knew. The only bonus is I am eligable for the sure start maternity grant.

scully · 19/08/2005 10:35

That's awful Nemo, not your fault they are hopeless and seem to have trouble calculating anything, from what I've read........
We aren't eligible for any credits, but know all about being skint - dh's salary reduced significantly last Oct and since the start of the year things have got more difficult. He's hoping to change jobs in the next month & it will be such a relief when things go back to what they were. Very stressful living like this.

Makes no difference if their bald, I just love bald babies! Sad, I know

ninah · 19/08/2005 10:36

what a worry
I guess you don't have to start paying it off if there is an ongoing appeal? I know it's still hanging over your head, but at least it's not immediate outgoings if that's the case
It amazes me - there are pple like you and I who worry about money, budgets etc and then I have friends who don't have a sleepless night about racking up huge credit (one went bankrupt and was comparatively relaxed about it!) It's like two different species.

ninah · 19/08/2005 10:38

scully

sweetheart · 19/08/2005 10:46

We have had loads of trouble with the Tax Credit people in the past. We are eligable to claim but only just - I think we'd be awarded something stupid like £2 a week. We just don't bother anymore - it's not worth the hassle for the small amount we are entitled to.

We are working on a new budget at the moment and it has been working OK. We decided it was time to live within out means, especially with the baby's immenent arrival.

My sister is one of those care free types ninah. She makes me sooooo . She went bankrupt last year (she had over £50k's worth of debt) and has to pay back £80 a month for a year - which she thinks is a real hardship!!!! She has nothing to show for the money, apart from a stack of CD's and memories of drunken evenings. I get so cross with her about it I can't even look at her!!!

Nemo1977 · 19/08/2005 10:49

I have a lot of other debts which while i was working were easy to pay but obviously now is different story so have jus tsorted out lower repayment plans but some of them were based on getting the tax credits. Ninah you would think while you dispute they still pay but thats not how it works. They send a letter saying becuase of blah blah we will take this from future payments...so this month to 'prevent hardship' [their words not mine] they paid a whooping £1.39 into my account instead of the usual £170....its almost farcical

ninah · 19/08/2005 11:05

nemo I am so on your behalf! how do these pple sleep at night!
Could you renegotiate the repayments, explaining what happened? if you can speak to a human being instead of an a===shle surely they would appreciate your position (NOT YOUR FAULT). Sorry about language but really makes me fume.
I know sh, I wish I could be one of the carefree ones! would keep me awake at night, and there's no way round it

Nemo1977 · 19/08/2005 11:11

ninah i did speak to someone yesterday and she was quite nice..although i was a blubbing hormonal pg woman on the phone. She said that they will only review once it has been appealed as that is they way their system works

sweetheart · 19/08/2005 11:13

Isn't it funny how THEIR system suits THEM and leave ordinary people right in the s**t!!!!!

Bastards

(excuse my french!!!)

scully · 19/08/2005 11:18

That's the thing, they don't take into account how it affects all your other outgoings. not everything can be renegotiated until this is sorted.....
Good idea to re-adjust your living now SH, want to do that once dh earns enough that we can!
Last day at work before my week - motivation not at it's hightest

scully · 19/08/2005 11:19

can't even type - that should read highest!

ebbie22 · 19/08/2005 11:36

How is everyone today?Still havent done tp test....
