squistle · 21/05/2010 14:35

Hello everyone,

Just found out I am 9 weeks :0 It was a complete surprise! Think I posted on the wrong thread the other day, mind if I join you here?

PJen · 21/05/2010 15:47

Welcome squistle! Of course you can join... we love new comers... It seems as if I am one of the only ones online today with the nice weather we also have a stat list (the link is the first post on this thread), which you can add yourself if you already haven't! How are you doing with MS?

squistle · 21/05/2010 16:54

I think I might win with the weather :0 It is currently 42c here and not a cloud in the sky. I'll add myself to the list if I can work it out......just getting used to all these pregnancy abbreviations! I had a scan the day before yesterday and they said my due date is 16th Dec.....

It's my first and I haven't got a clue!

squistle · 21/05/2010 16:55

Oh and I have had MS for weeks...I just thought it was something else! :0 Just a few wretches in the mornings now and it's all over with.

Lucypeanut · 21/05/2010 18:42

Welcome Squistle Congratulations!

I haven't got a clue either, never changed a nappy in my life! Sunshine made me feel even more vomitos today so I stayed inside, imagine what it's going to be like in August!

OnlyWantsOne · 21/05/2010 20:55

Hey all,

Sorry havent read back - will do now. Hope youre ok

Had scan yesterday, am now 12 + 2 today due date is Now December 1st according to scan

OnlyWantsOne · 21/05/2010 21:06

Oh PJen how scary, glad things are ok, it is really scary when you bleed, you imagine the worst.

Thechangespiral dont worry about the jeans, I had this trouble this morning with a cardy... it wouldnt do up over my boobs. I was less than impressed!!

Fordy really sorry for your loss, very very sad, hope everything goes well with you on Monday.

Who mentioned the facebook group, bakingkeepsmesane? Well, is it too early still for some people? I havent gone public on facebook yet - and I dont know if / how / when I will. Any suggestions any one?

Can any one please agree with me / help me

My notes say
EDD by LMP is 3/12/10

EDD by scan is 1/12/10

so that makes me how much pregnant, which date do I go on?

Just had a letter through from antenatal at hospital for an appointment with a consultant, no idea why... odd thats on the 27th - which is next week

Loubilou09 · 22/05/2010 08:41

Onlywantsone - I have been toying with answering you for some days because in a previous post you asked if anyone had any experience of clots....I suspect consultant wants to see you because of the clot seen in your uterus. I was going to urge to demand a consultant appointment as clots can potentially be serious. I do have experience of a clot detected at about 11 weeks and the earlier they manage it the better. If for some reason your appointment is not about the clot please use this appointment to discuss it and ask for a plan of action - is it too late to be put on thinners for example? Wishing you all the best and let us know what the consultant says XX

heading4home · 22/05/2010 08:54

Tired tired tired tired aaaaargh!

At least the nausea has retreated, but I am beyond exhausted. Just having to get through each day and fall into bed at 8 at night.

12 weeks tomorrow, maybe the blooming thing will happen soon Have now told everyone at work because people were starting to guess

Glad to hear of people's good scan news.

OWO I think the midwives will go by the date on your notes, so that will be the important one in terms of when things happen like mat. leave etc. I'm sure scan dating has an error of plus/minus a couple of days anyway.

OnlyWantsOne · 22/05/2010 11:53

Loubilou the clot was present at 10 weeks scan, but at scan on Thursday, they said it was gone - same sonographer too.

My notes say - small area of clot seen in region of the internal os measuring 21x13x4mm

....eeek

Loubilou09 · 22/05/2010 20:32

OWO - try not to worry too much - it is good news that clot appears to have gone. Many many women have haemotomas and most are reabsorbed by the body naturally and this appears to be the case here - although I am by no means an expert! I would discuss it with your consultant though as clots are very hard to see through ultrasound and mine moved from one scan to the next and was also confused with the placenta at one scan. I am really trying not to worry you because like I said they are more common that I realised however forewarned with a bit of knowledge is good I think. Take care X

squistle · 23/05/2010 06:48

Is anyone else still spotting? I didn't know I was pregnant because I was still having a light period bang on time. I was told by the ob that women can continue to have spotting around the time of their scheduled periods for around 3 months. I was spotting last week but it seems to have stopped now, the ob said it was fine. Anyone else in a similar situation?

ClaireDeLoon · 23/05/2010 08:49

I started with brown spotting Friday which has now progressed to red blood and cramps. Have scan tomorrow, which we're sure will confirm mc no 3. It's my 38th birthday today

DuelingFanjo · 23/05/2010 08:57

Oh Claire I an so sorty to hear this. I really hope everything is ok at the scan tommorrow

Loubilou09 · 23/05/2010 09:22

Oh Claire sorry to hear this also...hoping and praying that your scan is okay tomorrow X

fordypops · 23/05/2010 09:28

So sorry to hear your news, i would imagine you would rather know today and get it all out of the way. i have everything crossed that its all ok for you x

Persnickety · 23/05/2010 10:04

Hello everyone.

Fingers crossed for you, Claire.

I am very happy to say I have gone through the weekend with only a little tiny headache. Hopefully, this means my body has adjusted to hormone surge and the migraines are on their way out... HOPEFULLY! I am however still going to go for my second sacral cranio whatsitcalled on Tuesday.

I had my booking appt at C&W on Friday. It seemed like a nice hospital. And, after I went through my list of previous wurgeries (including one crash section under GA and one elective under spinal) she looked at me and said "So you'd like another section?" and I said smiled and said "Yes please." My worst fear is to be declined the section and told I have to go for a VBA2C and I would just be anervous wreck if that happened. SO, am currently very pleased with C & W. I also found out I can have a nuchal and amnio or CVS if I want. I have never before been offered these things on the NHS (and never had occassion to ask for the CVS/amnio thankfully). But, this raises a question for me... Do I really need to pay £150 for the Fetal Medicine Centre nuchal?

I have always had a nuchal at FMC because they are one of the best. In my first pregnancy, there was no NHS nuchal on offer. In my second, I did get a nuchal on the NHS but I also went to FMC just to compare them. And the FMC one really was a much better service (performed by a doctor, combined with blood test and the NHS one did not do the bloods, etc.). I asked at C&W and the nuchal there is combined with bloodwork. So, I wonder if anyone knows how the C&W nuchal compares to the FMC one? If the FMC one really adds value I'll pay the £150. But, as money does not grow on trees in my house (pity!) if the C&W one is just as good then I might as well skip FMC and keep my £150.

OnlyWantsOne · 23/05/2010 11:21

Pers - I didnt have nuchal with DD as didnt think about it, had my nuchal test done this week for this pg, at 12+2, had scan and bloods done at hospital - think thats routine accross the NHS now.

Oh, and good news about the head aches.

Claire, really hope things are ok with you - im really sorry

Has any one else put on loads of weight?

mumnerves · 23/05/2010 11:40

claire keeping fingers crossed for you

persnickety glad your headaches are better, just dug out some info my MW gave me, apparently if you have a nuchal it detects approx 75% of babies who have a problem but my MW said if you add a addmark/combined test to the nuchal it goes up to over 90%. Hope this is of some help.

Onlywantsone yes, me! I feel like such a fatty and nothing fits anymore added to the fact that I now wear the most 'attractive' bras in the world, I feel just SO un-sexy!!

aimee0211 · 23/05/2010 12:05

claire hope everything turns out ok...so sad to hear.

persnickety I was told by MW that the combined nuchal and blood test at 12 week dating scan is only in the last few months been introduced across all of nhs as routine...if that makes sense lol.

Went to a birthday bbq yesterday and feel like I am 12 months rather than 12 weeks...the word fat doesnt begin to cover it on a brighter note am less tired/ less sick over the last few days so hope that is passing

Lucypeanut · 23/05/2010 12:05

Thinking of you Claire hope all is ok tomorrow, thinking of you too Fordy

I'm just wondering if I'm going to spend 9 months worrying, I was so worried before my scan last Weds, then felt great for 2 days. Now I have my NHS scan on Friday and find myself really worried again. Nervous too about going back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off with my back. Feel it's still a bit early to tell people but know everyone is gossiping about me.

Onlywantsone I look awful, thought in pregnancy you are supposed to bloom, I look grey! Only plus is my normally non existant boobs are now a 34C which is huge for me!

squistle · 23/05/2010 12:36

Good luck Clare, fingers crossed everything works ok with the scan.

chloesbaby · 23/05/2010 13:17

hello all,

just wanted to check in and say hello as last time i posted i was a miserable wreck! i'm pleased to say it has passed and i am starting to appreciate everything and really enjoy being pg.

i had my booking appointment with the midwife yesterday and she was wonderful. didn't know what to expect as it is first time, but she was calm, reassuring and talked me through all the options for the birth. she told me about the midwife unit, the labour ward and homebirth completely without any predujice and made me feel completely in control.

i just need a scan now to confirm everything is ok!

i do want to run one thing past you all though. my dh and i had a big row this morning about breaking the news to people. up until last night we had only told close family and a couple of friends. last night he went out with a mutual friend for a few drinks, got very drunk, and announced it on facebook . when i got up this morning and saw it i was hysterical. he took it down and has been v remorseful, but i feel let down. i wanted to break our news to friends together (and more importantly after we had had the scan) and feel let down he was so stupid and inconsiderate. i have no idea how many people saw it before it was removed. i am calmer now and realise he was just being over-enthusiastic, but i am also mortified he could have been so insensitive. i feel quite disloyal sharing this on here, but i have been so upset. after all this is OUR news to share. anyone else been surprised / hurt by dh's behaviour while pg?

LittleB · 23/05/2010 13:51

Claire, I really hope things are ok for you, so sorry to hear your worrying news.
chloesbaby, glad you're feeling better now, DH has been ok but my dad has told loads of family I'm pg despite me stating clearly to him that I only wanted him, my mum and my sister to know until I have a scan, so I'm not too happy with him.
My NHS do bloods and nuchal which sounds fine to me, but not sure if I can wait until then for a scan, booking in with mw tomorrow so will ask her how long I'll have to wait for one and see if I can persuade her to give me an early scan, I'm 9wks today, I've been having alot of pain in my lower abdomen, may just be stretching ligaments but its got me worried, that and the fact I'm not as sick as I was with dd, but that may just be because I'm manageing it better - mainly by snacking loads! So would like a scan for reassurance. Has anyone else paid for one of these and could you tell me how much you paid? Due to all the snacking etc its getting really hard to hide my tummy, boobs are also growing rapidly too, and its tricky hiding it from dd and stopping her climbing all over me etc! Growing out of my trousers too, thankfully bidding for maternity things on e-bay and I've just won some jeans and tops.
