Looking for some fellow late Januaryers to whisper about BFPs for late Jan 2011!! Just taken the test this afternoon and thrilled to be pg with #3 potentially (two DDs who are 19m and 3y). Anyone else out there?

rocklover good look for tomorrow, hope everything goes well.

WYG it is very hard, but it is only three weeks away til your next one. I have been there too and even now after 2 successful pg I am still worried.
You will always always worry about something

I was booked in today and my MW is lovely. She took loads of blood - she did ask if the student could try to do it and I said no - I have a needle phobia so not a chance
She is however coming to my scan which will be nice as it is her first one.

Still starving hungry most of the time but my rage seems to be easing off now -

AmIGoingMad · 21/06/2010 19:17

Good luck for tomorrow Rocklover!

Thanks all for your positive messages!

I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow for the first time to pick up paperwork ready for my booking in appt?!?! I was hoping that she'd stick with my cycle dates cos then I should have 12 week scan before going on hols but have a feeling she'll go with more recent from scan this week which means I'd be due for scan just as I go on hols so i'd have to wait longer- grrr! Will I ever stop stressing again?!?!

WestYorkshireGirl · 21/06/2010 19:35

Thanks, Ladybuzz I just feel like time is dragging now and I want to get excited. I think I am feeling a bit low that's all, but on a positive note I've just made some more lovely flapjack (this bean will come out looking like flapjack I fear...)

Good luck for tomorrowRL

reallygrumpy · 21/06/2010 19:54

Hi all, I had a scan today, there was a heartbeat and it's not twins which is a huge relief. Only thing was according to the scan I'm 6 wks 3 days, not 9 wks based on my dates. I think the scan is prob right but they're going to do another scan next wk to check the embryo's growing normally so I'm feeling a bit flat and don't want to get too excited. If the scan is right, I'm having a feb baby, not jan.

Totally understand the sleeping thing jjkm. I think i got all of 3 and half hours last night before i had to be up at 5:30 this morning. Just could not sleep and it seems to be a reoccuring thing every night at the minute. Plus i seem to wake really early every morning and in the middle of the night. Tbh i think it might have something to do with the fact I am 'napping' for at least an hour every day when i get back from school (teacher) lol
However that is not the worst thing at the minute. I'm sure this is probably tmi but i am suffering badly from constipation at the minute so I'm hoping my consumption of 100g of prunes this evening will do the trick.
Rocklover hope everything turns out alright, thoughts are with you.

Hey ladies, glad to hear more scans have had positive outcomes! I have one tomorrow and have a dreadful feeling there won't be a heartbeat. Fingers crossed this is due to pregnancy paranoia! Have been feeling less sick and more normal the past few days, but no bleeding or anything.
Hope your scan goes well Rocklover

Shanster · 22/06/2010 18:03

Oh florapost - don't be put off my the bra people. I wore underwired bras all through my pregnancy and my nursing bras were also underwired monsters (32H). I breastfeed DD until 13 months. I had a blocked duct once or twice, but only lasted for a few hours, and never had mastitis. When your boobs are that heavy, you need some serious support!

FloraPost · 22/06/2010 21:39

Yay Shanster! This pg lark seems to throw up a lot of situations where I'm not as sure of my own judgement as I normally would be (obstinate baggage emoticon). You wise ladies are very reassuring. Hope your scan brings more good news to add to the collection.

We told my parents at the w/e. They were straight on the phone to the outlaws for a bit of mutual gushing as they are banned from telling anyone else. They are going to pull names out of a hat for what the non-bump will call them - lets hope my Dad doesn't get 'granny' (boom tish emoticon).

BubbaAndBump · 23/06/2010 07:17

I'm a bit naughty on the grandparents' front - my MIL wanted to be called Granny, but so did my mum, and as my mum already had a number of other grandchildren and was granny to them and I like her way more than my MIL, I said my mum got to be Granny, and my MIL had to choose an alternative

Hey Ladies, good news from my scan, all is well Very relieved!! They moved my due date back to 31/1, which is fine with me as I'd like to avoid an induction again this time and the more time I have the better! I have the outlaws arriving this weekend for a week, plus the crazy sister in law, grrr. Don't mind my in laws anymore but could easily do without the sister. I plan on disappearing for naps when it all gets too much for me. Is far too hot here today (33C), so can't even get to the park with DD, sometimes I wish I could be back in Scotland and out of this heat!

flossie75 · 23/06/2010 19:50

Glad to hear about everyone's scans and your good news

Got a date for my scan - not till 14 July!! 3 weeks to wait - it already seems like I've been pregnant forever

Fortunately/unfortunately I've plenty to keep me occupied. Builders are starting work on our extension next week so I'm hoping the afternoon sickness and exhaustion goes away as home won't be a very relaxing place to come back to until they've left for the day!

moulesfrites · 23/06/2010 20:35

Hello everyone, just checking in as haven't been on for a while. Good to hear good news from scans. Haven't got my date yet but midwife says it shouldn't be long.

I am really suffering with hay fever at the moments but can't have anything apparently. Also very tired and still nauseous, but boobs feel less sore - of course - I find this alarming rather than something positive. Also seem to have a few mouth ulcers - has anyone had this as a poss symptom??

WestYorkshireGirl · 23/06/2010 20:56

Flossie My scan is also 14 July - I'll actually be nearer 13 weeks then and it seems ages away doesn't it?! Been feeling really low the last few days and cried on DH earlier - do you think it's hormones? Been worrying it will end badly again...

nicoless · 24/06/2010 10:51

Hello ladies

What a lovely surprise to see a conversation about all the things I have been thinking about over the last few weeks! I am due on 25 Jan with my first. Very exciting (and overwhelming!).. congratulations all and lovely to hear that scans are generally going well.

Moulesfrites - I have outrageously bad hayfever (as always) and have been prescribed Flixonase nose spray and, for when I'm really desperate, Piriton but this causes drowsiness and I am loathe to take anything that will make me even more tired! I even tried acupuncture last week but the therapist was doubtful as to the effectiveness as many of the points they usually use can't be used whilst pregnant. And apparently it is best to start treatment before the season starts as preventative rather than remedial. Haymax, which you put around the inside of your nose, is quite good and very safe to use. Such a shame the sunshine and good weather is not so helpful for us hayfever sufferers

flossie75 · 24/06/2010 19:00

WYG I think it's definitely hormones - do they creep up on you? I found myself welling up during a phone conversation at work the other day - just cos someone asked whether what I'd suggested was the right course of action!

I keep worrying - my boobs are hardly hurting compared to what they were and I've not felt as tired the last couple of day - so obviously that means the worst! Almost glad I do keep crying at stupid things as I'm taking that as a sign everything is still ok

Thanks Flossie - yes I can be fine and then get totally convinced something bad is going to happen which isn't like me at all. Have bitten the bullet today and booked a private scan for next Tues when I'll be 10+3. Just decided that I need something to calm me down a bit and take the pressure off the 12 week scan (which was where I found out it had all gone wrong last time). In a way I am cross with myself for needing the reassurance, but in another way I think it will help get me out of the state I've got myself into. I have tomorrow off and am planning on doing some nice things like shopping and I've been fancying a Mcdonalds/Burger King all week and might just give in to the thought of gherkins and fries!

jjkm Gaviscon for the acid? I know you can take the liquid when pg. The other thing I tried when I had a nasty bug called helicobacter pylori which casued excessive and painful acid was live natural yogurt before bed.

FloraPost · 24/06/2010 22:10

Mmm, coma....think I might be most of the way there anyway. After 3 pretty good days I was so concrete-limbed today I didn't get to work until 1:15; pathetic. Luckily, my boss's boss is 6 months pg with her 1st, so is very understanding and bollocked me soundly for going in at all . Still, I can't wait for trimester 2 when hopefully this rubbish stops.

I read somewhere that antacids are fine in pg and are actually good for the bump, being full of chalk. I have been mad for very acid foods though (salt & vinegar crisps with extra vinegar, raspberries, apple soaked in lemon juice) so not sure what to suggest.

Life without wheat, heaven forbid! I seem to go carb crazy when pg, and my diet is mostly made up of sandwiches right now (and toast for breakfast). Very odd, as I don't eat much bread normally. I think we just have to give in and eat anything that sounds appealing. Coma right now would be great, am so knackered and work is insanely busy. This is the ramp up to our busy time, will be crazy until early December now. So depressing...

BubbaAndBump · 25/06/2010 05:58

All this talk of healthy food and healthy lifestyles . We may only have the timings of our pregnancies in common ladies

My niece is staying over from abroad this weekend, she's 12 and I haven't told her mum/my sister yet, so planning to do it via the niece

I have been outed at work now by four members of staff!! Told my boss on Monday and it went surprisingly okay (last time she almost had a heart attack).

My scan date is aaaaaaaaaages away - 16th July - but at least it's before our hols so I can relax then
