Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

3K - I have had those but read that the twinges can be more severe when you stand after being seated for some time and there is nothing to worry about. You should only be concerned if the cramping become severe and does not ease within a few minutes. It is all part of the growing and your baby moving out of the pelvic bone area. They are referred to as the "niggles, cramps and twinges of pregnancy" in the reference book I read.

I hope this helps and stops you worrying!

Thanks TicTac, I thought as much but they are starting to annoy me. I'm feeling very unfit and starting to feel really big and it is only going to get worse!!! I just went for a walk round the park, only 10 minutes but thought it might help. I think I'm going to see about Aquanatal and pregnancy yoga too, I need to do soemthing other than walking.

BTW - Tictac if I dont speak to you again, have a lovely holiday and I look forward to seeing 4d pic of baby tictac

TicTac · 31/08/2005 13:40

Thanks 3K!!

I am going to do aqua natal but am finding it difficult to find a dedicated anti-natal yoga class anywhere near our area!

I've been thinking about the yoga too

I'm having the stretchy pains too... mainly my right side, and I end up crumpled over if I stand too quick.

angedemarche · 31/08/2005 18:46

Hi Folks,
It has been a while since I have posted, I have been getting ready to go back to work... Not fun, but I survived. The real fun will start tomorrow when the pupils start back. I have to see if I can still remember how to teach after 8 months off.

I have my next appointment on Monday with the Consultant (15 weeks) and I am already feeling nervous about it. I look forward to the appointments but also worry myself sick as they come up.

I managed to pluck up enough courage last Thursday to tell my Mum and Dad that we are expecting, they were delighted, but it is still very bitter sweet. Ironically it turns out that my brother's wife is expecting and her due date is 5days after ours. Ironic because we were pg at the same time first time round, but her daughter was born in Jan and Lilli-Mae was born in March.

Everyone seems to be doing very well on here which is reassuring.

Take care
Angedemarche (and kinda coming out as being also known as jangus)

flamesparrow · 31/08/2005 18:51

Two personalities?

Poo to your SIL... I think I'd be insanely hormonal about the situation and feel like "But this is my time" - dreamt my sister announced that she was pregnant the other night, and I stood and cried and told her that she should have waited!!! I then woke up and felt horrible.

angedemarche · 31/08/2005 19:03

I know it sounds bad that I was keeping secrets, but some RL people know me on here as jangus and I didnt want anyone to know. I still have to tell my other two brothers, but I just keep putting it off.

As for my sil, it is actually a relief. I was feeling so terrible about being pg again (hard to explain) and so I told her as she is sensible and knows me well enough to know how this would affect me. Then after a few weeks she told me her news and I was so pleased that I wouldn't have to go through the pg alone and that she would be at the same stage as me the whole way through for extra (needed) support.I just hope that I'm not taking anything away from her this time round because everyone will be tiptoeing around me.

Then of course you have the other extremes were my dh sister phoned us all delighted and happy and hardly able to contain herself that she had just done a test and was pg... 16 days after we lost Lilli-Mae. Always the case that when you think you can't feel any worse people give you a real kicking!!!

As for the needle in the hand thing... i am in the club too. They can never get blood from my arm and have to go to my wrist. But, like you Flame, I don't get too bothered by needles (although DH doesn't like looking at it!)
Hope you are well.
XxX ADM

flamesparrow · 01/09/2005 10:17

at DH Sister! Here's me not wanting to book a hair appointment because I know my hairdresser has just had a miscarriage, and I think my bump is the last thing she wants to see right now! Some people really are just dopey.

I see what you mean about the support through the pregnancy too - I'm getting so much support from just you guys, having other people going through the same things. It must be good to have someone real that you are close to o be able to go through everything with... when you are scared, they understand cos they are feeling it, when you are bouncing cos you can feel stuff that no-one else can, she'll understand that too. (I didn't know your history with Lilli-Mae (gorgeous name)).

As for two names - I was on the TTC thread, and I couldn't make any announcements for ages because DH wouldn't let me tell my sister until I hit 6 weeks (he was going for 12 but knew I'd never make it that far since I found out at 3 1/2!). I am known as Flamesparrow so many places on and offline, sometimes I have been tempted (and sometimes I have) to use another name - just to have something that's just for you. Something you can share with your online friends without your RL ones having to know. There is a whole different relationship on and offline, and different things come from both.

I'm rambling now though

On pregnancy side... my moods are swinging nicely! Went to bed very very blue last night, but bouncing again today.

My washing machine seems to be very unwell though

chloe55 · 01/09/2005 10:49

If it's any consolation Flame my washing machine is poorly too! DH pu the dog beds in last night and I think he has managed to block up the system - great! Just when I need to do a load of washing to take away with me this weekend.

I know what you mean about having support. This web is great for that. I sometimes felt that RL friends might get a bit tired about hearing about pregnancies/babies etc but you can gas away on here without feeling like you are boring people (I prob am but I don't care, that's what makes it great )

I'm getting the stretchy pains too but my tummy seems to have really ballooned this week so makes no wonder I'm feeling uncomfortable.

3k · 01/09/2005 11:04

Morning Ladies,

I have had a mass spend this morning on maternity stuff. Had a panic earlier on this week when my work trousers were a little too snug round the bum and on the belly so thought it was time to invest in some proper stuff. I have got a pair of black jersey trousers from Blooming Marvellous, and from Next directory another pair of black trousers, a teal top for going out and a hooded jogging bottom top. I have jeans and t-shirts but will need some more tops for work. I feel better now, hopefully be able to look nicely pregnant at the weekend without worrying I will look fat in other places. Anyone else splashed out yet? I also bought one of those pregnancy pillows from Blooming Marvellous and they are great for getting comfy in bed and you can use for feeding after.

flamesparrow · 01/09/2005 11:14

I've bought one pair of trousers so far, and I've ordered a gypsy skirt from Dorothy Perkins (ordered size 12 ti start with, but turns out I'm a 14 there)

3k · 01/09/2005 11:25

Cool, I'm in between a 12 and 14 too so it is difficult to get stuff.

I wanted to hold out getting stuff as long as possible as I thought I'd need more winter wear anyway but Delbert has another ideas. I'm getting worried I'm getting too big as people keep telling me I am huge for 4.5 months.

chloe55 · 01/09/2005 12:09

I have bought the most comfortable pair of black trousers that I have ever owned from Mothercare last weekend, they have an elasticated waistband but look lovely and very smart for work/night out. I think I look unusually big for four months too but I think I might expand rapidly and then maybe slow down a bit, hoping so anyway!

Tabs · 01/09/2005 14:34

Has TicTac gone on hols already? I didn't tell her to have a great time .

chloe55 · 01/09/2005 14:38

I think she goes today Tabs but she said she would post when she is abroad too to let us know how her scan goes.

Frizbe · 01/09/2005 20:59

Hi all, glad to see your all plodding on ok! We were away last weekend, and then this weeks been so busy since we got back, haven't had time to catch up till now!

I had 14 week appt on Wed, tried and failed to find heartbeat! although MW swore a pop we heard was a kick? back in two weeks for more bloods...argh! still at least the new MW can get my veins, the one when I had dd used to send me to the hospital, as always failed miserably....

Been out and brought one pair of maternity joggers today....thought about time, as am starting to get a tad bigger and just know I'll wake up one am and find none of my clothes fit!

spacecadet · 01/09/2005 22:58

hi everyone, im so busy this last week getting every thing ready for the dc;s going back to school, ds starts secondary school, ds2 starts primary school and dd enters her last but one year at secondary school, ive been busy sewing badges on blazers, hemming trousers etc!
angedenmarche/jangus, so glad everything is well, glad you now feel you can "come out"!

flamesparrow · 02/09/2005 09:23

A bit all over the place - stuff going on with a friend and I'm not focussing on anything much at the moment... I might be off for a while.

xxx

Tabs · 02/09/2005 11:47

Morning ladies.

Spacecadet - please don't tell me that I have to learn to sew to be a good mother !

Flame - hope all's ok.

Frizbe - clever baby to be able to hold its breath and kick at the same time .

of you lot who can even come close to getting into size 12 or 14!!

Not a lot going on here really. Very quiet time in the pregnancy. Just waiting (impatiently) to feel proper movement now.

teuch · 02/09/2005 15:19

hi, just calling in briefly to say hello...nothing exciting happening here at all and no scan to look forward to either...ah well!

Glad to hear everyone else is well, although thoughts are with you flame if things are not good.

Now that baby has moved up higher (I get HB right up at teh side of belly button!!) I don't really feel the rubly movement any more. THe placenta at the front acts like a cushion so I don't feel much, but when I do its a proper kicking!! Feels great!

Y'all have a great weekend now!

spacecadet · 02/09/2005 18:32

tabs-fraid so, stock up your sewing box!

YeahBut · 03/09/2005 10:26

Well, back from holidays at an ungodly hour this am - made dh get up again at 7am with the girls!

Been feeling pretty good - bump now definitely a bump. Am in my maternity trousers and proud!!! Think I can feel smudge having a wriggle every now and then. Having an ante-natal appt with the ob/gyn tomorrow am.

flamesparrow · 03/09/2005 10:29

I'm ok - just a friend with a lot going on, and I wasn't focussing too much yesterday.

I'm more settled today though.

I'm having sore boobie issues

Frizbe · 03/09/2005 16:56

lol Tabs!

Well haven't felt sick since Thurs, maybe its going away, hurrah!!

Hope your all having good weekends!

Tabs · 03/09/2005 19:39

Oh dear - had a bit of a funny turn in Waitrose this afternoon. Was merrily doing my shopping when suddenly felt really sick, really hot and sweaty, dizzy and headachey - quite scary as it came out of the blue. Hadn't eaten masses (though enough I thought) so wondered if blood sugar was low. Good excuse to have a caramel eclair, which I ate there and then before going to the checkout, washed down with a big swig of milk (I don't even like milk!!).

Anyone else had this happen, or know what could have caused it other than low blood sugar? And if low blood sugar, is it normal to get this, or would this be an indicator of GD?
