samB good news on the chicken pox front. I reckon teachers are immune to most things because they encounter so many germs on a daily basis. Mind you, one of the little dears managed to give me glandular fever (no idea how) in my last year of teaching, so I suppose it's not foolproof. Just glad all is well for you.

Wow, so many fantastic scans. Congrats all round. Mine isn't until next Tuesday and I'm alternating between terrified and excited to bits at the mo. I think I may have felt sproglet again yesterday so I'm a bit more optimistic, but I've been having pains this morning (prob just the fibroids).

tiredfeet had to laugh at your disappearing belly button. Mine has gone the other way and my inny is now an outy! I also have the linea nigra (or whatever it is called) above and below my navel despite having milk-bottle white skin.

nymph hope the appt tomorrow goes well and the gp is useful.

shieldbug · 27/05/2010 10:44

Oh yes, meant to make you all jealous with this...
When I got up this morning, there was a lovely breakfast set out with champagne flutes (sadly there was shloer not champers though), strawberries and chocolate croissants. No reason, just dh being adorable. Oh yes, and a wee pressie bag with some earrings he'd seen me admiring and snuck back to secretly buy. Cheered me up no end.

Hermya321 · 27/05/2010 11:10

I am having a pride and predjudice day, I am going to sit here and eat crumpets and watch Mr Darcy brood.

I also had a scan dream last night, I found out I was having a boy. I remember texting people and telling them, 'remember there are other colours besides blue'.

Shieldbug I'm so very very .

floozie Have you had your results back yet? Have I missed that?

Sam I'm the same, I really want to know as well. What a relief as well for you, I'm glad the midwife agreed to see you as well. It's such a simple little thing isn't it and would only take a couple of minutes of her time but would give you such reasurance in the long run. Whens your scan?

Nymph How you feeling today?

Shieldbug

Ok so I feel like a right buffoon . I had a bath. Not a glimmer of a movement from this baby now for a week. Suddenly, my belly was changing shape here, bits poking out there with obvious baby movements from the outside. Where did they come from? How can I still go to this appointment with a clear conscious. What if the baby moves like that there? Suddenly I want it to be still for a couple of hours. Oh my God, I am a buffoon.

nymphadora · 27/05/2010 11:15

Hermya I had a dream last night about having a baby boy! Not feeling good. Took kids to schol in the car which feels lazy THEN parked the car in town (about 300yards from home) PAID and then spent 15 mins in town before I collapsed back in the car again. THEN drove home. Not sure whether to or

sam that will help and you may get your UTI results too?

My kids go on holiday tonight , not looking forward to it

Hermya321 · 27/05/2010 11:25

Nymph Gosh that really isn't good is it. Are they getting anywhere at the Docs or are they doing more tests, you've got an appointment tomorrow haven't you. I don't think you should feel bad, you should try and take it easy on yourself and if driving the kids to school in the car is they way you're able to get out and about then do it. You know if you need anything at all, just gimme a shout.

ECG & lung tests tomorrow. Done a bit of googling on my meds and lots of stories of side affects which fit, other option is risky with asthma (I dont have it bad but a risk is a risk)

I'm probably the only person that thinks her kids being away will be messier. Dd1 has been doing loads to help lately. Think it was a mistake taking her to Drs with me as she is a worrier anyway but she refused to wait outside as she was worrying .

Dh is still hopeful about the weekend but I cant see me coping

RooBear · 27/05/2010 12:01

have they tested you for anemia nymph (sorry if they have can't keep up with everything at the moment) thats how I started, are your muscles seizing? (sp)

nymphadora · 27/05/2010 12:06

Roo Yes they did that and i was v surprised that I wasn't. I'm veggie (except when baby wants KFC ) and I'm always low. With dd2 I had a transfusion to boost me after the section. I'm taking iron/multivits in the hope they would boost me . My legs are 'constantly on edge' like they are going to twitch but don't that often. Fidgeting helps as does moving my feet but it does go right to the top which twitchy legs never have before.

SamanthaB123 · 27/05/2010 12:27

My baby is brilliant ! I have seen the midwife and she was lovely and so was the baby - the little heart was beating away. The baby is moving, I just don't notice. I had been so worried about the lack of movement and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Tomorrow it is all back to normal, uti is being treated and symptoms have gone, I have immunity to chickenpox and I will be back at work for the last day of term . What a bloody relief.

nymphadora · 27/05/2010 12:38

Glad its all on the right track SamB Not sure about the being back at work but half term is good! Will you go back in Spet or start Mat leave then?

mamjo · 27/05/2010 13:04

ladies HELP!!!!
I just ate half a sandwich that I wan't looking at because I was working through but when I looked at teh second half the chicken was very undercooked, slightly bleeding in 1 small area and now I am panicking like mad. what should I do???

p.s Shieldbug what a lucky lady you are.

Lizkin · 27/05/2010 13:14

Don't worry mamjo

Don't eat the rest, but don't worry either. The chance is very small that that particular chicken had nasty bugs in it. Just keep an eye on how you feel and if you're fine after four hours, no worries!

Having said that, I'm not an expert. Anyone else on here with better advice?

Went for 20 week scan on Tuesday - little babs is a girl! She kept wriggling all the way through and making life hard for the scanning lady (what do you call them?). But all healthy.

Cheers Mamjo, you'll be fine.

shieldbug · 27/05/2010 13:21

mamjo I can understand your concern. As lizkin says, chances are it will be fine. If you are worried, give mw or gp a call. They may have some sensible suggestions. Hope all is well.

SamB fantastic news. Relax and enjoy the rest of today.

shieldbug · 27/05/2010 13:23

ps congratulations lizkin sounds like you have one active baby! Another girl to add to the October list!

Katy86 · 27/05/2010 13:27

xavielli woo hoo I hadn't realised I was the youngest but will have caught up with u and Tyson in august xx

Katy86 · 27/05/2010 13:29

lizkin congrats on ur girl!

Hope eveyones havin a lovely day xx

Lizkin · 27/05/2010 13:40

Have added my stats to the list.

Ivy the terrible we share due dates! And Ninth Wave and Vikks and KSal - cor, is there something special about 13th Oct? Or is it something to do with the cold snap in mid-Jan this year...?

Every time I've gone for a scan or check up, Babs seems to be on the move. I reckon she'll be like her dad, always active. Have started trying to sing and play music to her so that we'll have something that will calm her down when she's born and make her feel at home.

Somehow finding out the sex has made it that bit realer - I'm actually going to be a Mum. Cor.

mamjo · 27/05/2010 13:41

Thanks Ladies,

I have spoken to my GP who pretty much just said what you did - wait for 4 hours and if you have any symptoms call back.

SamB and lizkin congratulations - how very exciting.

SamanthaB123 · 27/05/2010 13:51

Nymph For pay purposes I am going back in September. I won't have a class to teach though and will be soley office based. I am not planning to work into October as both DD's were a little early - only a week or so but I do want to able to have a bit of a rest. I will just have had six weeks off over the summer as well !

I bought natal hypnotherapy cd's yesterday and they came in the post today. Wow, I feel lovely having listened to the pregnancy relaxation one. Quite dreamy

Congratulations lizkins and don't worry mamjo. I'm sure you will be fine.

nymphadora · 27/05/2010 13:51

lizkin does it make any difference what you drink/eat? When I was having dd2 I couldn't drink coke as she would be high for ages. She is still like that now.

Hermya321 · 27/05/2010 13:53

SamB Congratulations and Lizkin Glad to hear about your little girl!!

OP posts:
AbFabT · 27/05/2010 13:55

Sorry you're still feeling rubbish, Nymph. Are you eating loads of dark leafy greens? Hope you feel better soon.

Sam too, but glad your UTI is cleared up, and you're immune to chicken pox.

mamjo, call your M/W if you are worried. I would say, you'll be fine - our bodies are pretty good at eliminating badness, and drink lots of water to help flush out any badness there might be. But try and relax, be aware of how you are feeling and if you are feeling sick at all (and not just with worry!), then get yourself checked - but you are most probably fine! (Note: I am not a health care professional though!)

My belly button hasn't changed at all, but I have got the faint line thing going on!

Me, I am good - just been to Mamas and Papas, they have a 30% off sale on the maternity range and I got a bargainous denim skirt, a summer dress and a cardigan thing, and I bought our baby's leaving hospital outfit too, which was also in the sale - I've had my eye on it for MONTHS (even before I knew we were pregnant!), but I am so careful with our funds, I didn't splurge, but it was 20% off today, so I HAD to have it! Love love love it! I am too excited! :-) And I bought a matching pram snug thing (like a sleeping bag), it's fleecy and gorgeous and I nearly cried about how beautiful it is!
And then I met a really lovely lady in the the shop with this BEAUTIFUL nine-month-old boy, he was so cute and stunning, smiling away at me, and she was really nice and friendly, and I don't know, I just feel quite good today, thinking how I am going to like this motherhood lark, chatting to mums in Mamas and Papas and being invited for tea and cake and all that!

shieldbug · 27/05/2010 13:59

After a fantastic start to the day I'm depressed- I've just analysed preliminary results from the experiment I've been working on since the beginning of March. Unfortunately it doesn't show the pattern at all that I had hoped for and the only significant result is hardly earth-shattering (in fact I would be astonished if I had found anything different). In other words, I've found out squat squared. Who would be a scientist?! Fortunately I have a few more results to come in yet so things may have improved, but I doubt it.
On a brighter note, sproglet feels very active at the moment (or I have terrible and strange wind!)!!!

Lizkin · 27/05/2010 14:04

Nymph I haven't noticed but it's a good idea, maybe I can start seeing if there's any pattern to her movements. But I don't mind her wriggling (except when I'm trying to concentrate!). Actually quite pleased that she's so full of beans. I don't have that much caffeine I think, one weak coffee a day and weak tea (and usually some chocolate).

I was with a mum the other weekend, she's breastfeeding her 3-month old and said she can't eat chocolate because it has a bad effect on him. Anyone else heard of this? Really hoping our babs won't mind!
