HopingCatPlusThree · 24/08/2010 14:41

Hannah1890 - We're due the same day and mine is a boy too! I have been feeling baby move for a while, but this is my 3rd so maybe that makes a difference. With my first baby it was about 21 weeks before I felt anything. One MW recently told me she thought different babies acted differently. She's pregnant with her 4th and she didn't feel movement til about 25 weeks, so she just thinks it's a laid back baby.

When you say it's likely to be a boy, did you not get shown boy bits? We were asked if we wanted a photo of those bits to prove he's a boy! Poor little man.

FunkyMonkey1983 · 24/08/2010 14:56

I'm 21 weeks with my first and I feel like I'm being pummelled on a daily basis already! I seem to have a very active baby though and he/she wouldn't stay still during the 20 wk scan.

HopingCatPlusThree · 24/08/2010 15:12

We're going to need a new thread soon. I think 1000 posts is the limit. Anyone got any good ideas on what it should be called?

Jess310 · 24/08/2010 18:05

Had detailed scan today and baby no.4 is another girl. That makes 4 girls. Husband now seriously outnumbered, says he's going to work on an oil rig.

Hannah1890 · 24/08/2010 18:06

Thankyou HopingCatPlusThree thats made me feel a bit better, difficult reading all the pregnancy books say by 20 weeks so was getting worried, am new to mumsnet, but someone suggested it as none of my freinds are pregnant or mothers already so no-one to discuss these things with, and I think this is great. The sonographer we had today wasn't great he just seemed in a rush which sort of made us feel a bit rubbish even though I'm sure he was very busy. He said it may be a boy in passing and then said hed check definately later and never did, when I asked him he just said it's never definate anyway. My family were all desperate to know so have told them a boy but guess there may be a small element of surprise when baby is born. FunkyMonkey1983 thats great, our baby was moving loads in the scan aswell, I had to go and sit outside for a bit to see if he'd flip over for us and he did after a few minutes but just cant feel him. Or maybe I have and just dont know yet. Guess thats the next thing to look forward to, feel like waited so long for the scan and now its over its just the waiting game again.

mummychicken · 24/08/2010 19:45

20w+3

Scan today Smile All bits present and correct (not sure about ACTUAL bits as I don't want to know what type it is!)

Hannah I didn't feel DS move for ages, but I have felt this LO move since about week 15/16. I think it is also because I know what the feeling is. For example, this time when I've felt a little twinge I've thought "Oh! That's my uterus" last time I thought Uterus was next to Uranus!! Your stenographer seems quite polite if he made you wait outside till baby moved, mine just wobbled my rather flabby gut!!

crumblequeen · 24/08/2010 20:02

Welcome Hannah - I am 17 weeks and still not feeling movement, even though this is my second, so I am hoping its a laid back one! Congratulations on all the good scans everyone!

WalkTheDog · 24/08/2010 20:46

welcome hannah

hopingcatplusthree like the sound of not much movement meaning you've a laid back baby :) Mind you OH and me quite laid back it's just the dog that is mental, so lets hope LO doesn't take ater the dog Wink

Not sure re new thread name, sure there must be someone will come up with a catchy name

Jess another girl to add to your group :)

glad scan went well mummychicken, can't wait until thursday aternoon or mine

berrycravings · 24/08/2010 21:08

We're having a Boy. So so excited have not been able to sit still. Scan was amazing, as he was in such bad positions for the measurements it took 30-40 minutes which was great for us to see our little boy for so long. Can't wait to get to the shops now!

Glad to hear scans have been going well and congratulations to those who have been finding out, and well done to all those holding out for a surprise.

I've been having lots of movment, but it only started over last few weeks (now 21+4) so I don't think is anything to worry about if not feeling anything, some days is not as much as others. Eating sweets helps...!!

SalaDo · 25/08/2010 10:45

Yay! LittleHuman congrats on your girl! - I love the 'unrealistic preg exp' thread . . Does make me laugh :)

slodge Think about if you were weeing and you tried to stop. . . then do this and hold it is the best way I can think of to describe it! (as mummychicken said!! Sorry didnt see that till now lol)

Congrats Jobi on your 20 week scan :)

The buzz is lovely Walkthedog my sister had one with her DS and she loved it. I know she found it a bit large (had to remove wheels to get it in the car) but nothing terrible!

Hi Rogie Did they say they wanted to swcan you again or keep an eye on babas tummy?

Waves to Jess Hi HI!

Congrats on your little boy HCP3 :)

Welcome Hannah :)

Berrycravings Congrats on your boy :)

Hoping I've got eveyone there! Feeling a lil more human today but this cold has been a nightmare . . Just wont shift!!!

Still waiting till the 15th for my scan . . Feels like a million years since I saw anyone (will have been 9 weeks by the time the scan gets here!)

I'm a SAHM but sell a million things on eBay which just seels to have stalled at the moment (most of the stuff I sell is baby stuff so till I find out what I;m having I dont really want to sell) but really missing the money :(

I've been looking at the Cosatti Cabi 3-in-1 stroller/pram and quite like it . . Plus its less than I'd expected to spend :)

Anyone got any names picked out yet? or are they all top secret? :)

mamasunshine · 25/08/2010 11:40

Hi, hope everyone's well?
hopingcat+3 - oh wow a boy Smile what a palava your scan was! But at least all's well.
jobi1 - how old is your ds? I started potty training ds1 about 3 wks ago (he was 2.4) and it's going really well. Took 3/4 days, but now only an accident every few days.
littlehuman - a belated happy birthday for Monday!

walkthedog - woohoo...congrats on coming 2nd with your runner beans Grin!!
heelo and welcome hannah - don't worry about the movements, I didn't feel ds1 till I was at least 21-22 wks.
Wow jess310 - a 4th girl Smile how lovely!
mummychicken - great news on scan Smile
berrycravings - Grin a boy! They're lovely, lots of cuddles!!

Have started getting heart burn this morning, don't think the chocolate bar I ate for breakfast helped Blush! Is anyone else sad enough to watch big brother?! I can't believe how mad these people to go into this 'ultimate' house! An ex husband and wife have been thrown in...how arkward!! As for names, I LOVE Astrid for girl, and also like Beatrice and Hermione. Boy's names go as far as George, I really can't think of any others.

Thread name Hmm...something like, "Bumps and babes blooming along to our Jan due dates"? Will think some more, but not particularly good at these things!! Just thought I'd have a go Grin!

mamasunshine · 25/08/2010 11:42

awkward! not arkward

SalaDo · 25/08/2010 11:58

Oh I get TERRIBLE heartburt Mama its EVIL! I got some from the docs. HUGE bottle not that nice but Gaviscon was working out so expensive! :(

OoO and Happy Belated Birthday littlehuman I missed that!

WalkTheDog · 25/08/2010 12:44

poor you who are having heartburn, I've had a few epidodes of it and would hate it to be there more often.

A boy for berrycravings :o

My dad picked up the buzz yesterday, him and mum having fun working out how to change it round, take wheels off etc. Mum even threatening to take it out for a walk just to see what neighbours say - they have a couple of soft toy monkeys to put in it..lol

crumblequeen · 25/08/2010 13:03

mamasunshine I have a friend who is also due in Jan and she loves Astrid for a girl. I love Hermione but DS is Harry so Potter rules out that combination!! I just keep adding names to our girls list - its up to about 12 - must stop thinking!

DS has nasty cold so is being very difficult and defiant as is usual when he is ill grrrrr

We are currently painting our hall so no bum on sofa for TV(takes a while when you only do an hour a night once DS asleep)! DH found lots of house jobs to be done before Jan so I am getting roped into them all, thankfully one is to buy a dishwasher though, I am so sick of standing at the sink washing dishes!!

crumblequeen · 25/08/2010 13:05

I like David, Edward or George for a boy - I find boys easier as just like traditional "boring" ones!

littlehuman · 25/08/2010 13:07

lol walkthedog to walk the monkeys toys ahahah

got a bit of heartburn too, but so far a couple of gaviscon a day do the trick.

i didnt know you could only have 1000posts per thread...
could we call it something similar to the previous one like"new year, new baby, part 2"or something like that so that we can all find each other back easily?....

mamasunshine · 25/08/2010 13:45

walkthedog - lol at your mum walking soft toys in the buzz Grin
crumble - we love Harry too, but we have a William Smile. Also painting and have LOADS of de-cluttering etc to do...don't know how we'll do it in time Hmm! We bought a dishwasher before ds1 was born - it's brilliant! Edward is my dh's fav, I also loke James, but it doesn't 'jump out at me'.

Well it's cold and wet here, and I've eaten way too much today Blush

Jobi1 · 25/08/2010 14:41

Hi everybody Grin

Congrats on all the scans, and good luck to those coming up soon. Its all so exciting!

Heartburn, yuck, I get it really bad! I eat Rennie soft chews cos I hate gaviscon, they do the trick!

mamasunshine, my DS is 2 & 3/4, we're overdue really. I am a bit worried about it all cos he's a stubborn little blighter, but he's dry almost all day so I'm sure he's ready. We will see.

As for names, my DS is Jack, for number 2 I like Daniel or Nathan, or Molly or maybe Gemma. Its a difficult decision!

berrycravings · 25/08/2010 19:49

Hermione is a lovely name mumasunshine really stands out to me. walkthedog love the idea of pushing around some toys to try out the pram, has def made me smile, grandparents have such a great role to play in all this.

crumblequeen Harry's a lovely name but is ruled out for us due to our surname and that book! I'm the same mumasunshine with James, I like the name but don't love it. Think a middle name for us.

Jobi1 love the name Nathan and really like Molly for a girl, such nice choices.

We had a few names in mind, but as soon as we found out its a boy we decided we didn't like any of them anymore. We have however come up with two new ones I'm a little fearfull of telling people in RL (people can be so hurtful), but would be nice to share on here. So at the moment (very possible will change over the next 4/5 months) we're thinking either Seth James or Miles Philip.

I agree such a hard decision. Not got any babygrows myself yet but so eccited scared of buying out eveyr shop! How are people controlling themselves?? I am knitting, so far have done a hat. Planning to start a blanket this weekend.

berrycravings · 25/08/2010 19:51

salado I went crazy in the run up to the scan, but i'm sure the time will fly by for you.

(also have been trying out the pelvic floor tips, I still need to go all the time so lots of oportunity to practice)

gallicgirl · 25/08/2010 19:57

Oh go on then, I'll join in :)

I've lurked for a bit and found the site useful for all those weird pregnancy questions I don't want to bother my mum or sister with.

I'm 35 and pregnant with my first baby. We're due January 18th so that fills the gap on the very long list above! Is it me, or are there loads of pregnant women around at the moment?

We had the second scan yesterday at 19 weeks and found out we're having a girl. Hopefully it will help us to whittle down the long list of names I like to find one my DP also likes.

:o

I've resisted the urge to buy heaps of baby clothes so far but I did buy some fairly neutral coloured stuff yesterday evening. not a fan of pink and I've got the MIL knitting essentials.

splodge77 · 25/08/2010 19:59

someone stood up for me on the tube today. I must look pregnant now rather than just fat. Hooray!

deedee321 · 25/08/2010 20:08

Thread has got really exciting recently with all the scan news! congratulations everyone, love hearing what everyone's having and that all is well. Mine is tomorrow, so excited, am sure it's a girl as this preg seems identical to my last one and I have a dd. But will be THRILLED either way. Best of luck to others having scans soon!
