viksam Can't help with the baby bath discussion so watching replies with interest! We haven't got there in our thinking yet! The car/van sounds great but like you i would be worried about driving something so big every day! whats it like on fuel? Hadn't thought about work til you mentioned it there

wonder glad to hear you had a good holiday! Sounds like the swelling was really bad! has it all gone now?

viksam · 03/05/2010 21:49

Memphis My god thats terrible! so glad things are OK for u now. Keep us in the loop and dont worry if you want to vent, thats what we are here for! Oh and ace that u won £200!! Any idea what ur gona use that for?

Im off to bed now too, really not looking forward to work tomorrow!!

stac14 · 03/05/2010 23:28

Omg memphis huni, how are you now? What an ordeal. Please take docs advice, remember we are here to gab to when your bored. Well done on the bingo win

viksam we are going for a bath seat, mothercare does a cracking one, will post a pic/link when dh gives up the laptop. I don't plan on giving the lo a dummy, ds didnt like one. If she is really restless then we might get her one.

becky sounds like you had a nice day. Pains are a nightmare its under my boobs at the mo. Meant to ask how often are your hospital apps at the moment?

wonder the holiday sounds good, even if you were delayed. Thanks for sharing about your depression. I too didnt realise how commen it is.

dh let us know how you get on tomorrow. Tell them everything x

Hey to everyone. Hope your well x

stac this time i have to listen to the docs they said trauma to womb from op could start labour at anytime and with my track record of tumbles im not moving!!!going back to hospital to discuss delivery options tomorrow when ive arranged a lift everyone works wednesdays!!! i hope they will talk about inducing me a couple of weeks early after being so ill but im not holding my breath!

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/05/2010 10:58

Morning all,

Ive decided to get a relaxation cd and give that a go, I think alot of my dark moods were down to DP and I not really getting on and feeling detatched from each other but we've somehow managed to get back to normal. I just told him I get really really down sometimes and he knows its my hormones so we had a nice cuddle and we're back on track now.

Have also decided its silly for me to be constantly worrying about LO and his movements, hes just fine and he would prob be better if I just relaxed!

wonder I feel hard bits on my tummy too, I thought it was his head but also could be his bottom (how sweet!!)

stac thanks for thinking of me I woke up a bit late to get an app for today whoops!

Whats everyone upto today?

memphis83 · 04/05/2010 11:19

dh totally recommend a pregnancy relaxation cd they work wonders! i only get into it my 10 mins b4 im asleep! i keep getting a hard bit in stomach just above the belly button to the side, hes been there all week and midwives in hospital say its his bottom, they kept wiggling it, and when they felt head he pushed his bottom out! this happened a lot as i was being monitored every 4 hours!!! as for feeling down, just think what i think, we're 3/4 way there now, i keep thinking once baby is here my hormones will eventually go back to normal and my relationship will hopefully be better than b4! i got out of hospital and saw my dh had search online how to cope with a pregnant woman, i dont know weather to be pleased or annoyed !
and sending you biiiiiiig hugs!!!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/05/2010 11:32

Thanks memphis it really does help to get it all out on here!
Id be pleased your DH was looking up about pregnant women on the internet, it goes to show he wants to help you

Chulita · 04/05/2010 12:20

memphis I hope you get lots of things to entertain you. Bedrest sounds awful, I find although I love sleeping I'm so achey in the morning I have to get up and do something! Fingers crossed baby stays put til you're good and ready!
dh I'm glad you're feeling better about things, it's amazing what a cuddle can do
This little one definitely pushes bit of itself out against me. Sometimes I can't breathe properly, this morning it felt like it reached up and grabbed my lung - painful and completely winded me. I know it didn't but it wasn't a nice feeling! All of today I've had a hard lump sticking into my ribs...still got ages for it to grow bigger too, eek!
viks we had a baby bath in the last place but nowhere to store it so we got rid of it after about 4 weeks and bathed DD in the bath (which seemed like an awful waste of water!) I think we'll use the big bath again this time though cos storage is still an issue and we'll be running a bath for DD anyway (we only bath her once a week cos she's got eczema). We won't be using dummies unless we have to, I don't like the look of them and I'm a firm believer in letting the LO make a noise if it needs to

stac14 · 04/05/2010 12:26

Glad to hear your doing as your told memphis lol I only say this as I am a terrible patient they would have to strap me in so I would do as I am told lol. Dp also looked up pregnancy hormones etc, I was kind of annoyed as I felt he was trying to blame everything on me but then I realised he is just as worried about everything as I am. He wasnt really with his sons mum when she was pregnant so its all new to him as is your hubby

dh I'm glad your feeling better hun, I agree its great to have each other isn't it?

Well I am knackered and sore today, think I over did it at the weekend. I also can't find my pregnancy notes you know what its like put things in a safe place now i cant find them so have had to phone the hospital about it, and no doubt they will turn up after the hospital gives me new ones xx

hi ladies! haven't been on all weekend as was kept busy between one thing and another!
memphis you poor woman! god you've been through the mills haven't you.glad your sounding so optimistic though.second what stac said please listen to them cos you dont want to end up in hospital on bed rest.oh god cant imagine what you must have been thinking when it was all going on.yum yum for the dishy doc tho!!! and i think its really sweet that your dp was looking that up.goes to show he just wants to do every single thing right and not annoy you or upset you in any way.looking forward to very regular posts from you now since you've nothing else to do!lol!
dh your sounding a lot more upbeat hun! thats brilliant! def get the cd it'd be lovely to just have your own little time to unwind every day. im feeling all sorts aswell in the way of baby's body parts! its lovely!
wonder glad you enjoyed your weekend! did you do any shopping over there?
stil bunged up with this horrible cold and sore throat.getting very sick pf it now!had a good weekend though after all my working! went out for a while sunday evening and had 2 drinks and it was lovely! then me and dp went for dinner, cinema and a drink afterwards last night! very nice!
how is everyone else feeling today?x

stac14 · 04/05/2010 12:35

chulita I felt like that last night, felt like I was gasping for breath, need to remember to sleep propped up a bit more

kk you poor luv hope you feel better soon, I was getting the same symptoms but the doc thinks its hay fever and has given me a nasal spray to use. Its like jumping into a swimming pool and the water going up your nose sometimes, maybe I am just weird lol

Also lots of sticky out baby parts here too usually under my ribs or she seems to do a full stretch were I have a bum sticking out and pushing in the nether regions lol

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 04/05/2010 12:59

I looked up the preg cd on ebay and then realised I dont act have a cd player so...would it work in my laptop??

kk stac and chulita yeah I do feel more upbeat today, must be having an 'up' day today which is odd cos Ive been stuck in all day and dont have any plans but I suppose its nice to just relax and focus on me and LO sometimes.
Thanks ladies you are all so lovely and kind

beckyg123 · 04/05/2010 13:54

I'm off work today so been catching up on some housework and food shopping! Just had a big bowl of sugar puffs- was great, not had them for years! They are half price in tesco!!!

DH Glad to hear your feeling better. I just discovered you can import cds onto itunes and put on ipod! Can't believe i never knew that but had great fun yesterday putting all my old favorites onto ipod! So if you have an ipod that could be an option! My laptop plays cds and dvds but it is quite noisy in the background so wouldn't be good for relaxation!
I had a sleep enhancement cd in house (no idea where it came from) so listened to that last night and ended up having a lovely sleep and really relaxing dreams- just a pity it didn't stop the need to pee during the night tho!

KK sounds like you had a couple of nice evenings over weekend! hope your throat gets better soon

Someone mentioned weight gain the other day- i went on scales this morning and have put on 2 stone 4lbs since start! still 10 more weeks to go so think i'm one of those women looking at a 4 stone gain! AGH! Maybe it would be less if i ate less tho! just seem to be hungry and nibbly all the time its not all crap- i do eat plenty fruit and veg and healthy meals but also have the crisps and chocolate in between

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/05/2010 14:02

becky of course! I completely forgot about putting it onto itunes, Ive done that with loads of my music cds before lol.
Also Im the same as you on the weight gain issue, put on 2 stone since the start although wishfully thinking it'll all drop of when LO is born

Ive just phoned my docs and got an appointment for next Tues afternoon so a bit of a wait but at least it'll give me some time to think of how to explain things and theres something else I need to go there for anyway so even if Im feeling fantastic it wont be a wasted journey.

kkfairybrains · 04/05/2010 15:44

becky the last time i checked which was about week and half ago i had 2 and half stone on! and i've another 8 and a half weeks left!

kapars · 04/05/2010 16:07

Gosh memphis that must have been so stressful for you but glad you are ok now.

Dh our cd player isnt working so I use my relaxation cds in my laptop and it's absolutely fine.

Glad to report that my chiropractor did fix my back so after spending the whole bank holiday weekend unable to move and mostly in bed I can now walk around 80% pain free. He is a miracle worker.
Am still completely exhausted though. I'm working from home all this week - normally on Wednesdays I have to go into the office which is a mammoth journey but they're letting me work from home tomorrow also cos of my back.
I just went to the shops for half an hour to get some fresh air and now I just want to go to sleep. I am starting to get that utter exhausation like in the first trimester.
I'm 31 weeks on Friday and it looks like this level of fatigue is normal around now.

memphis83 · 04/05/2010 17:11

thanks to everyone for the support, had a very horrible day today, doubting myself and crying like a baby feel like a burden on everyone stac im very inpatient im so clumsy and i want this baby to be ok so badly i dont think i have a choice this time i would never forgive myself if something happened to LO, there were ladies on the ward who were 26 and 28 weeks gone, one had given birth to 9 babies and all of them died as they were born between 24 and 27 weeks, she was furthur along with this one on bed rest but they were outside smoking every 5 mins it made me mad as they were awful to midwives who were lovely as well! i bit my tongue as its personal choice but made my blood boil!!
becky ooh sugar puffs im geting dh to get some of those, im living off cereal in the day as i cant stand long enough to make something!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/05/2010 17:44

memphis OMG that would make me mad too! This woman had 9 babies who were all born prem and all died and she chooses to smoke? You'd think having just one baby born prem and died would make you give up smoking when getting pregnant again. GRR things like that make me really angry as I gave up smoking pretty much as soon as I found out about this LO and also am so so so paranoid something awful is going to happen anyway.

Sorry for the rant I know its not your fault! Some women just dont deserve it, poor babies

stac14 · 04/05/2010 19:14

memphis that lady ought to be ashamed of herself, smoking can cause premature births. I know losing 1 baby must be devastating but to loose 9 and not change what your doing throughout your pregnancy. I know women who would give thier right arm to have a baby. Soz for rant, you must have been so glad to get home.

becky and memphis i am loving sugar puffs just now, the co-op have them on offer too. Also loving citrus fruits especially mandarins and clementines yum.

kapars is your pain central to your back? I was very tempted to phone midwife as i was getting sharp pains in my fanjo. Doubt a chiropractor could fix that lol

becky meant to ask you were in glasgow you are, don't worry i'm not a mad stalker lol just meant north south etc i am southside

Hows everyone else tonight? XxX

beckyg123 · 04/05/2010 20:00

Had a close call in car today- car infront of me braked sharply and i didn't react quickly enough and had to slam on brakes. I lunged right forward and hurt the bottom of my bump not felt much movement from LO since so just sitting down with cup of tea and chocolate as usually make LO really active! trying to be rational about it and not panic!

stac LOL didn't think your a stalker!!! Pop by any time i'm in the north in springburn so really close to the royal. Also forgot to answer about the MW visits- my GP wanted to do shared care so i see MW every 6 weeks and same with GP so an appointment every 3 weeks.
Have you registered for antenatal classes? I got a letter through and start at the royal next thursday afternoon

kkfairybrains · 04/05/2010 21:03

my god memphis thats awful. some people would just sicken you. and try not to feel down about having to depend on anyone cos its not for long and you and the baby are the most important people to everyone now so im sure nobody minds doing things for you. your not being a burden as im sure you wouldn't mind doing the same for your dp if he needed it.
becky have you felt any movement yet? you must have got an awful scare you poor thing.
well im after spending the last hour in the hospital. hadn't felt any movement at all all day and very little yesterday and had a crampy belly all day so they hooked me up to the tracing machine and everything fine! i knew before i went out that it would be fine but was stil a nervous wreck! anyway got a few movements while i was there and they put me completely at ease saying that babies movements were very important and if i feel the need again to go straight back out. thought i'd feel silly but i didn't! he done a quick scan while i was there too so got to see LO again! didn't really see much though cos it was a crap machine compared to what we normally get but was just such a relief to know everything was ok. my god i really waffle on once i get started!

memphis83 · 04/05/2010 21:11

stac dh it made my blood boil, i smoked and stopped straight away, the doc told them everyday that smoking was the problem, they stank the ward out too, thank goodness once baby arrives you can pay for a private room if i get stuck with them again!
becky i hope your ok take it easy and if you are worried call your midwife thats what they are there for!

stac14 · 04/05/2010 21:15

becky a woman shot out in front of me today, she should have gave way but didnt and of course i had kept going luckily found my brakes, but she just shot away. You ok? I dont like driving much now tbh. My grandads side of the family is from springburn. I thought you may have been up there cos of the tesco lol. I'm in Castlemilk (not as bad as its made out to be lol) is your hubby watching the game? My dp is happy but ds is sad at the moment lol. Im kind of doing the same as gp is keeping an eye on the anxiety. Back a the royal on 31st may.

OP posts:
DesperateHousewife21 · 04/05/2010 21:16

kk glad to hear everything is ok with your LO, the staff at your hospital sound really kind and reassuring too which always helps. Ive been a bit worried today as I havent felt as many movements but I have felt 10 or more in the past 12 hours so not overly concerned but I would be straight down the hosp if it was less.

stac14 · 04/05/2010 21:32

kk glad your ok hun, nice you got to see lo again even if pic wasnt fab.

I know they say you should feel 10 movements per day but is that 10 different times or she just kicks 10 times at one time? I may sound thick but lo has a pattern and i dont think she kicks at 10 different times, maybe because when she is awake she can be for ages x
