Hope all is ok Anifers...sounds like a horrid day for you. Hope everyone else has a better day tomorrow and may midwives everywhere have good news for everyone! xx

Anifersgirl · 07/06/2010 23:45

Thanks to everyone for being so lovely and supportive. Been on the monitor for couple of hours again - and she stopped moving about an hour ago and her heart rate's gone down quite a bit. The midwife keeps coming in and shaking my belly or making me move position trying to rouse her a bit but no joy.

Wondering if I should call DH and get him to come back, but think I should let him sleep.

Just keep trying to tell myself that even if worst happens and they have to whip her out she's still got a really good chance of being absolutely fine and that I'm really lucky being in a good hospital with lovely midwives around me.

So bloody angry at myself for crashing the car in the first place.

Anifersgirl · 08/06/2010 05:15

Normally I pride myself in being someone who can sleep like Martini: you know, any time any place anywhere. (apologies those too young to get that reference) but not tonight. It doesn't help that it's so hot, that someone on the ward is obviously planning to take up snoring as an Olympic sport and that they keep coming round to give me more injections and do more monitoring. But mainly it's this constantly, desperately trying to feel lo move. Come on pickle, wriggle for mummy.

Jojobil · 08/06/2010 06:41

Poor Anifers that's terrible. I am sending lots of positive energy your way! Hope LO will wake up soon and all this ordeal will go away! Is DH with you?

Jojobil · 08/06/2010 06:43

P.S. Should we start thinking of a new thread? I know you have lots on stac..

Gracie123 · 08/06/2010 07:55

anifers hope you managed to get some sleep in the end. Hospitals are never a good place for sleeping, but certainly in a stressful situation they are the worst! Sending lots of prayers your way.

KK yeah, I'm pretty lucky in that the area I live in always text you for antenatal appointments and MW etc... I think they think all pg women are incapable of keeping a date book/diary, which I find very insulting...

...and yet it appears I can't!!!

Got my text this morning already to remind me of MW appointment at lunch time!

Chulita · 08/06/2010 08:23

I'd love texts to remind me. I find my mw just phones up to cancel appointments. She's yet to keep one appointment we've made and she's always running late then rushes through whatever we need to.
anifers I hope you got some sleep, hospitals are a nightmare for rest.
jojo any ideas for a thread title?

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/06/2010 09:01

anifers I hope things are ok this morning, still thinking of you and your LO.

jojo I was also thinking about the new thread, if people can give ideas for a new thread title I dont mind starting the new thread. I have nothing on my plate at the mo!

memphis83 · 08/06/2010 09:20

morning ladies, hope everyone is well, been thinking of you anifers really hope you managed to rest.
its raining hard here today, i had quite a few pains last night b4 i went sleep and when i got up this morning i felt like i popping or like an elastic band snapping in lower bump now got lots of pain in my fanjo! (sorry if tmi) not really sure what ive done, weve had a joke since xmas that i would give birth today as my sis and mum are in london watching jon bon jovi!!!

Jojobil · 08/06/2010 09:37

Memp it sounds like your "plug" went - call MW. ;) Maybe labour is starting? Desperate I think it's a good idea as we are running out of space and stac has lots on her mind? "July babies round the corner, only a few weeks to go" something like that. I'm not good at this

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/06/2010 09:44

Yeah I dont mind doing it who will be first to have their LO, this next thread will see all our LO's being brought into the world.

Need some inspiration for a thread title ladies, get your thinking caps on!

Jojobil · 08/06/2010 09:47

"July babies come out come out all healthy and shiny little stars"

Anifersgirl · 08/06/2010 09:53

Memphis did you have any adhesions from previous ops? That sounds a bit like when my appendix scar adhesions "popped". Was agony for a bit but then absolutely fine after that.

I'm feeling a bit brighter now. Was very bleak and weepy first thing - lo still not doing her usual morning gymnastics, but had some tea and weetabix and chatted to a lovely little girl in bed opposite me - can't be more than 20 tops - she's 37 weeks and fell down the stairs in her mother and baby unit last night! Then had a chat with another lass who's 30 weeks with pre-eclampsia - she's been in for two weeks whilst they try and get her to 32 weeks before induction.

It really helps not to dwell on my own probs. Whatever happens to me I've got amazing friends and family around me. I'm still angry with myself for being an idiot, but if a PMA can keep this little pickle healthy then I'm on it.

Thanks again for a your kind words and support, it makes such a difference.

stac14 · 08/06/2010 10:04

morning ladies,

anifers been thinking of you and hope everythings ok. Hope you managed to get a rest. Your right if the medical team were worried she would be out with you now. May be lo is in shock due to crash {{hugs}} coming your way hun

Thanks for your support, to be honest i don't feel any different but i am back at the hospital tomorrow so they can look over my sugar levels which will determin what treatment i'll need.

Good idea about new thread, i am crap with the names lol.

memphis did you phone to ask what snapping pain was? Is tomorrow the day to find out if your getting induced? Fingers crossed for you hun.

Its a crappy day here, so i am resting (maybe that should be being a lazy cow lol). Anyone else up to much? X

Morning all! Things certainly seem to have taken a turn for the dramatic over the last few days. I really hope everything works out fine for those of you experiencing complications of some sort. Make sure to get all the care and attention you need!

Hopefully trying to brighten the mood rather than appear smug or rub it in, but things have been going fine for me lately. Worst I've had is a few sleepless nights due to regular bathroom visits and achy hips, which I really can't complain about in the great scheme of things.

I've been busy with all kinds of stuff lately, but it's been a lot easier going now that my DH has finished his exams and is around to help me out a bit more with keeping everything running. I finish up work on Friday, so I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation (ha!) for the next six weeks or so until LO makes their appearance.

I had my ?leaving meal? with work last night and was presented with the rug and blanket from Mothercare?s Jungle Family range. So cute! Not something I?d have bought myself as they're not exactly essentials, but lovely to have as a gift.

I?ve arranged for a busy day next Monday afternoon: I?m visiting the nursery that LO will potentially be attending, then I have my midwife appointment at home to approve my house for homebirth, then I have the health visitor coming over straight after the midwife!

Has anyone else had a visit from the health visitor? I?m not quite sure what to expect. According to the letter she?ll be dropping off the ?Red Book? for LO during the appointment, which presumably is something to do with their health/development records?

I?m glad the warm weather has eased off a bit... I wasn?t coping too badly, until overnight when I tried to sleep! It?s only another few weeks until my birthing pool is delivered... I think I?m going to get DH to set it up in the conservatory ASAP and if we get any more hot weather he can fill it with ice-cubes for me!

Anyway... For name suggestions for the new topic, putting my amateur rhyming hat on I can offer:

July 2010: We?re ready to drop; One month to go until we pop!
July 2010: Now weighing tons, how much longer 'til we have our little ones?
July 2010: A brief reprieve, as we start maternity leave.

Slightly scary to think that before we finish the next thread, we?re likely to have seen the birth of our first LO! Personally, I have a feeling I?m going to be going overdue and probably left twiddling my thumbs in the topic by myself, since I?m not even due until the end of July.

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/06/2010 10:10

Keep the thread titles coming ladies we're running out of space on this one!

I literally cant think of anything! I keep trying to think up witty one liners but they're rubbish!

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/06/2010 10:12

spirael thanks for your suggestions I like the first one, shall I go with that one?

Jojobil · 08/06/2010 10:16

I like "July 2010: We?re ready to drop; One month to go until we pop!" Spirael. Even though for me it's only 3 weeks or less! Still a bit in denial...

Spirael · 08/06/2010 10:45

Maybe alter it to "July 2010: We?re ready to drop; Not long to go until we pop!" then? Covers everyone!

Assuming I reach my due date, I still have over 6 weeks to go, myself. If I go over, it could be 8 weeks/two months!

Athrawes · 08/06/2010 10:45

Can I join you ladies? I am due 11th July - 20 days before my 40th birthday. First baby.

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/06/2010 10:58

Cool ok Ill make the new thread with the altered title then post a link on here to it.

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/06/2010 11:02

New thread here

memphis83 · 08/06/2010 11:43

just been down to surgery and been examined by one of the mw, ive lost a bit of my plug apparently but unless pain becomes regular not to worry as you can lose it a few weeks b4 waters go. and i have hospital tomorrow anyway, everytime baby wriggles its painful! dh sounded really excited like baby was on his way now had to tell him to calm down! (tmi alert) since i got back from mw my nipple has started leaking and they seem to have swollen!!, thought i was getting away with that one!!
stac yes its tomorrow that i have hospital to discuss induction. im being lazy too
its really hit home today that we havent got long at all left and that i still have a few things to do its like my brain is telling me to nest but my body is saying it cant be bothered

Jojobil · 08/06/2010 11:52

That's how my labour started Memp with the plug going

kkfairybrains · 08/06/2010 12:31

anifers you have to try not to be mad with yourself.accidents happen and thats why thry're called accidents.hopefully today will bring some good news and as you say LO has a great chance outside the womb at this stage.
lol gracie we do have soooo much to remember!
stac hope your tests go well today and your treatment isn't something minimum hassle.
memphis sounds exciting! im getting all jittery now thinking we may just have a baby on here soon!
well our weekend away was lovely.we were blessed with the weather!walked along the beach, shopped, ate out and relaxed in the lovely hotel! got a pedicure yesterday thinking it might ease my feet a little but no joy! they're rrally painful to the point where its killer to walk or stand.its like they're damaged inside or something.if it keeps up im not going to be able to keep working . seems like a very petty complaint in comparison to everyone elses problems.
anifers is dh with you yet?
