I mean virtually, not vertually.

sweetkitty · 24/08/2005 16:09

Good news about your scans loomer , lyra and rachey, another boy wow! Am so dying to know what this one is. Always lovely to see them and know all the correct bits are there, puts your mind at rest (a bit)!

Eshay · 24/08/2005 16:34

Everyone is having their scan. It feels like I'm the last one to have mine although I know that's probably nonsense.

I haven't ordered anything yet, Lyra. They sure are expensive. I might get DH to order one so that it will seem like I didn't pay for it
Tell those cleaners of yours you're going to find someone else to do the job if they don't change their act. There are plenty of people out there who would be happy with their job.

I'm at work and had a huge craving for salt earlier so I bought a big bag of Dorito's and ate about 3/4 of it. I feel mighty guilty now but then again, last time I had a Magnum every day so that is much worse than the odd bag of crisps. Anyone else have a craving for salt? I don't have many other cravings, really, except chocolate but that isn't really anything to do with pg.

lyra41 · 24/08/2005 17:17

Mmm

I crave salt too, and all thing savoury. I just LOVE marmite, in fact I think I'll go and make a marmite butty now. Got some marmite in my Bounty pack actually, now I think of it.

I did give the cleaners the ultimatum last time I spoke to them, then they didn't arrive today, "because I got a phonecall that something was going on near my house, and my house is important" (phone message) - whatever that means. So I guess I have to find someone else. My friend has recommended hers, so I'll give her a ring.

Tea to cook in a minute, with lean mince as the base. Any ideas? I guess spag bol will do, although I've got lots of greens I want to use up too.

lyra41 · 24/08/2005 17:20

Rachey

Glad your scan went well too. So we're both having boys! Any names spring to mind? I guess you've used up your 2 favourite ones already. My dd is a bit disapp that its not a sister, but she seems to be coming round to the idea. And there's always next time...

Chuffed · 24/08/2005 21:33

Sweetkitty how on earth did you pack by yourself, dh and I are just struggling to get everything packed up dd is being a bit of a nightmare and is bored stupid poor dear.
Scan tomorrow will let you know how it goes. Got my bounty pack yesterday - always lots of advertising but few bits and pieces that will be handy.
Glad all the scans went well. We will go for the surprise too loomer and did with dd but if it is a boy and is too obvious to miss then we'll obviously know in advance but we will officially 'ask' for them not to write it down as my notes are being sent to MIL to take to hospital in NZ and if we do know then we don't want everyone else to know.
Names - well we kept it a secret last time and will do this time but it is the same name boy or girl just different spelling so nice and easy for us.
Great news about the stitch too Georgie. Ooh and happy birthday for the other day Sweetkitty I'm almost 31 it is so scary I remember thinking this was so old when i was younger but it just so isn't.
Take care - sleep well

Where are you all girls?

Keep checking in but you're all so quiet - busy I guess?

hunkermunker · 25/08/2005 17:03

Hiya - had been off MN for a little while, because of the ad on the homepage.

Have had scan - all fine (but not found out the sex ). Amazingly detailed - even more so than when I had DS! Could have watched the little one kicking about all day!

DS also got the all-clear yesterday and has been discharged from hospital (where he'd been investigated for UTIs) so very happy!

sweetkitty · 25/08/2005 17:12

I want my scan right now!!! I am so impatient!

Chuffed I don't know how I did it either I packed up the entire flat, arranged the move and everything with 10mo DD, she wasn't very mobile then and was only belly flopping crawling so it wasn't so bad. DP was gone for most of that month as well. Looks like we will finally be moving in about 2 weeks going to be fun with DD this time. At least we don't have the nightmare 450 mile drive with DD and 3 cats in our Clio!

GeorgieM · 25/08/2005 18:42

Hi grils. Just taking advantage of DP giving DD her bath.

Sweetkitty - am with you my love. V impatient and want my scan too! Have to wait until 8th Sept as date the offered me was when I'm getitng married.... thought more important to get married (just!).

Thank goodness |I'm not the only one craving salt. Marmite, miso soup, chips with vinegar and rock salt..... bring it on!

Am so glad that everyone else's scans have gone well. Our little bubs are half baked at the moment!

Just over a week to the wedding and am getting very excited and nervous. 35 years of being Georgie M and from 2nd September I'll be Georgie P.... all rather surreal!

OK, will love and leave you as need to do laundry and supper before i can collapse in a heap and fart on the sofa!!!!!!

GeorgieM · 25/08/2005 18:43

Cripes, typing has gone to hell in a handbasket...

Meant to say, 'Hi Girls' not grils!

Mumfun · 25/08/2005 21:03

HI all

Dont seem to have that much time for MN at mo - DS needs more amusing since his hols and also weaned him off tv so needs more attention but much better for him.

Also very impatient for my scan next week.

Hope everyone is well- I still feel a bit ropey quite often and am very tired - hope to get a bit of R & R this weekend- and maybe also buy a car -quite exciting!

lyra41 · 26/08/2005 07:55

Was just looking back over the first couple of threads, and there were lots of mums there who no longer post on this thread. Maybe their due dates were changed to Feb or something, or maybe they just didn't want to post any more. I really like posting here, I do feel that we're getting to know one another, despite it all being virtual.

We're packing up to drive down South today - off to sil's wedding. Looking forward to some spoily time in a hotel, doesn't happen very often.

GeorgieM · 26/08/2005 14:35

Lyra - that's really weird because I was thinking last night that there seemed to be loads of ladies posting and now there's a hardcore posse of about 6 of us!!

And I love the fact that there's someone else close by (well at the end of a computer) that's prob feeling the same as me.

Hope everyone has a lovely Bank Holiday. Apparently weather supposed to be fab on Monday....

Rachey1969 · 26/08/2005 17:16

I'm still here! Good luck with the wedding Georgie and the packing Chuffed and Sweetkitty! It's feeling very 'back to school' round here!

Hunkermunker - I am soo nosey, what was the ad?

sweetkitty · 26/08/2005 17:26

Think I'm one of the hardcore posse now. We will have to do a roll call soon. The weather is miserable here think it will be like it all weekend. DP and I are just deciding what to do.

GeorgieM · 26/08/2005 18:11

Thanks Rachey, but it's not until next Friday, so got plety of time to panic!

Bought DD first pair of 'school' shoes. Know I'm going to boo like a good 'un when she starts on 5th Sept. It's only a nursery and she's been to another one before this, but this time she's got a proper teacher and a uniform...

She also seems to have accepted Beany and now insists that she carry's anything heavy for me!

Am praying that we're thru the 'f*cking fours'!!! But am sure she'll have plenty more suprises in store for me!

Laters ladies xx

Mak · 26/08/2005 21:26

Hi all - I'm still around and read regularly, so I've been keeping up with all of the gossip. Am now 21+3. Had my detailed scan at 18 weeks - seems ages ago now, asked to find out the sex, but this lively beanie was busy playing with the umbilical cord between it's legs DD accepts that beanie could be either but would really like a sister.
PMSL today - went to Waterstones to look at birthing books, when DD announced she had found a children's book, didn't give her a second glance and said how good she was being. When I did look she was perusing the pages of the Kama Sutra OMG!! She obviously didn't have a clue but I was rather embarrassed and said 'just pop it back over there'. Dh and I had a good laugh about it tonight.
Glad that everyone else is well, will try and post a bit more in the future.

Mak · 26/08/2005 21:27

PS - hope I don't kill the thread again like I usually do

podsley · 26/08/2005 23:23

Hello all -

New girl New girl!

To introduce myself......this is my first real pg and I am just gone 18 weeks, so far so good. I have my 20 weeks scan on 8 Sept which I am really looking forward to, hoping it will make me worry less about things in general ( or am I being naive, does the worrying last for the next eighteen years!!! ). I am really looking forward to finding out whether a G or B, that is if it is facing the right way and not wriggling too much!!

spangles · 27/08/2005 08:08

Hi ladies
Had my scan yesterday and couldnt get over how much detail you could see. I didnt find out the sex... although I really think its amother boy.
Scan photo cost £4... NHS is now ripping of mums-to-be, there is even a machine where you have to put cash in and you then get a token which after the scan you exchange for a photo. Not like last time I went when you just put a pound into a jar!
The sonographer seemed really embarrased with the new "set up" and she put 2 pictures into the little folder you get with your photo... nice lady
Hunkermunker... I am curious too.. what was the ad?
Welcome podsley.. your right about the worry lasting long after the birth... my mum says it never goes away!
Hope everyone is well, I had a tummy bug last week.. cought it off DS1, I wasnt sick although I tried but hell I was in agony all day Tues. Glad its buggered off now and I can relax a bit.
Had a mad spending "do" this last week... Ordered 2 sofas, bought a new car and getting new carpet for lounge and lino for kitchen diding room. DH is decorating all downstairs then the house is finished.
Look after yourself girls

Chuffed · 27/08/2005 10:41

Well scan went well - we found out sex accidently but am not telling anybody sorry.

I'm afraid you will be one less for a while but will get online as soon as I can after my trip is done.
All the best for the next 10wks, think of us travelling around - chat soon!!!
