afternoon all

re dopplers i think it would stress me out more and i have survived all my other pregnancies without one so can cope this time i think! i do think they are fab and i am sure if i was having my first now i would get one, but when i had ds1 (he will be 11 in aug!) they just werent available.

i just got my official letter wiht the results of my nuchal scan and blood test, low risk 1 in 8000 chance, so happy with that

ds3 has told lots of his school friends who have then told their mothers so i have had a few people come up to me and quietly ask if its true, most people seem pleased but think i must be slightly mad or have the patience of a saint to be having no 5!

my parents are visiting tomorrow so we will probably tell them, that will be interesting.

smokeybacon · 21/05/2010 12:57

grinningbee hello. I'm sure I recognise your nickname from somewhere else. Were you on a knickercheckers thread with your DD? As I have a 12 month old DS and frequented that thread during that pg. Else I am thinking of someone completely different.

How odd too that there are 4 of us who are for/have used the QMC. On my last ante natal thread, I was the only one in this area.

Am waiting on CVS results. Outside chance that I will get them before 2pm this afternoon else it will be 4pm on Monday. Hands are fairly steady at the moment.

rinnyx I've never done twitter I'm afraid

bookworm am v of your far east trip. Have a lovely time.

Pleased to see more good scans and hope caesars goes well.

applegirl I don't envy your move but hope that you settle into your new home quickly. At least you're doing it now rather than heavily pregnant or with a new born.

Lizzzombie · 21/05/2010 14:54

Hello everyone, thought I would officially introduce myself. I've been lurking for about 13 weeks, but had my scan today so only feel ready to admit it now!

Due on November 21st with DC2.
Have a DS who is nearly 3.5 and he would rather have a dog than a baby so not sure how to tell him yet!

Nice to meet you all, and will add myself on to the stats list!

ceasar04 · 21/05/2010 17:42

Hello everyone!!
Scan gone fine, thanks for all your kind thoughts, but I am now measuring 12 weeks today which means EDD is 3/12/10!!!

(Ceasar sits in corner refusing to move to Dec thread )

But also saw consultant today due to early labour of DS1 who arrived at 36 weeks, there is a "strong chance" DC2 will be born around then or earlier so I reckon it will def be a Nov baby.

Have got go and bath DS and DN who is sleeping over tonight but will check in over w/e.

Bye all x x

Kyuri · 21/05/2010 19:57

Thanks a mill for the doppler details privet and nomore!

bunnygirl80 · 22/05/2010 00:19

Welcome Lizzzombie

COngrats on the good scan ceasar

I'm definitely changing shape now - i went shopping yesterday, and looking in all those full length mirrors was an eye opening experience. While I was aware that my tummy is starting to stick out, I had no idea that my waist was disappearing. I've gone from hourglass to square with a flabby tummy

Oh, and the cups on my bra now fit comfortably onto my head

dairymum · 22/05/2010 09:14

Hi everyone. hope everyone is starting to get over ms etc now. I'm gettin a bit of a bump now, but jeans still fallling down .
Trying to find some energy for dd2's sponsored walk this morning. should be a leisurely stroll with the chance to catch up with other mums, then back to nursery for baking stall!
I think the whole world knows i'm pregnant now, I feel like I should be at least 6 months gone by now. time seems to be really dragging. Does anyone else feel this?

CardiCorgi · 22/05/2010 13:43

Yes and it´s bloody ages until November.

I´ve got a bulge and no waist any more. I liked my waist Have also gone from barely an A-cup to actually having a cleavage for the first time in my life, but I´m not completely sure that I like it (Dh on the other hand...).

Had a go at yoga last night - it´s not really sport in the way I am used to and I felt like a right fraud when the instructor told us to put one hand on our heart and one on the babay. Heart was easy enough but everyone else had proper bumps to put the other hand on, mine just went on the roll of flab that has appeared under my waist band. I´m, assuming that the baby was under there somewhere.

shoppingstar · 22/05/2010 13:45

Afternoon all (and welcome Lizzombie) - hope everyone is feeling well and enjoying the sunshine.

I'm feeling a bit happier as I ventured into town AGAIN and this time my slightly bigger flump fitted perfectly into a denim skirt and lovely navy trousers in Gap. They are doing 25% off with Grazia magazine until 25th May but if you say the newsagent has run out of copies you can get the discount without buying the magazine So I won't feel so uncomfortable squashed into my pre-preg trousers.

Has anyone else (especially if PG1) become buggy obsessed in the street? I've been staring at all buggies and trying to read their make and how easy they look to push etc. Might get accused of stalking soon!

smokeybacon · 23/05/2010 09:54

Quiet on here this weekend. Everyone enjoying the sunshine I assume!!

I definately have a bump. Its the size of my week 19 bump with DS2! I saw a lady in a local shop yesterday with a fantastic bump. From behind she still had a proper waist and at the front it looked like she had just stuffed a football up her top! I was v .

Gaga82 · 23/05/2010 13:15

Cardicorgi your yoga experience made me grin!

Bump definately expanding here, fully into maternity clothes now, which I think actually make it look bigger! Am getting quite a lot of double takes from people as they see me. Also starting to 'enjoy' the experience of people just putting their hands on it!!

My MS has now gone, but I still cannot take any dairy produce - esp. milk/cream. If I have even a splash in soup etc, then all makes a reappearance in the next 2 hours. Anyone else? I'm slightly worried about calcium intake, multivitamin only gives 25% rda, and chemist wont go near giving me a supplement. Everyone reassures me baby will get what it needs, but I am worried about my teeth falling out! Midwife app tomorrow, so will see what she says.

Off to practise maternal skills on newborn niece now, hope everyone is keeping cool in the sun!

Rinnyx · 23/05/2010 15:04

Hello everyone hope you all are having a lovely weekend and not finding it to hot.

Just got back from the weekend with my parents at the coast and my mum already commented I have got bigger since I saw her last week, didnt believe it much til I just looked over photos we took

Bump is to big for normal clothes but still to small for preggers clothes so I am at a loss

shoppingstar · 23/05/2010 15:45

I found this the other day when looking for non-dairy sources gaga www.healthdiaries.com/eatthis/15-non-dairy-foods-high-in-calcium.html

Rinnyx · 23/05/2010 16:07

Just thought I would share.
I have had a belly since about 13 and half weeks but after seeing the following photo my mum took today I didnt realise I was THAT big

16 Wks tomorrow

Baby has been moving alot so I feel relaxed and hopefully at the 16 week midwife app we can hear the heartbeat for the first time

nomoremagnolia · 23/05/2010 17:16

V Rinny
I have not gained any weight in the last 3 weeks and still don't look pg, just fat I want a proper bump

Gaga82 · 23/05/2010 17:32

Rinnyx what a lovely bump! Your outfit suits it very well, stealing ideas as i type...

shoppingstar thanks for the link, brocolli for me for tea then! Really appreciate you sharing.

4madboys · 23/05/2010 17:38

lovely pic rinny

well my parents visited yesterday, we had a lovely picnic with the boys and we i mean ds3 told them about the baby, literally as soon as they got out of their car ds3 ran up to them saying 'mummy is having a new baby'

my mum was a bit but they are pleased for us as we are happy, tho my mum says i must have the patience of a saint, as she had two and that was one too many. she loves the boys but is not really a huge fan of children and cope with one at a time, but the thought of having four, and now it will be five, horrifies her!

have been enjoying the sunshine here in norfolk, really lovely, tho ds4 finding it a bit too hot at times.

i havent gained any weight yet, am now 13 and a half weeks, lost a bit, but all size 12 clothes still fit, so no sign of a bump yet, i would rather have a bump than the flabby post 4 babies belly that i have at the mo, normally i exercise and can tone up etc but have been feelnig so sick and tired that exercise went out of the window i may get the davina pregnancy exercise dvd tho, as i like her other dvds.

Rinnyx · 23/05/2010 18:41

Thank you ladies x

Gaga82 I got my top in Asda for a steal at £10

dairymum · 23/05/2010 19:58

Hope everyone has been making the most of this fantastic weather.
I think I just look fat as i've always had a bit of a belly anyway. wearing normal trousers/jeans with lots of smock tops. Only bought 1 maturity shirt from matalan website, but it's really comfy.

Does anyone else HATE people touching their bump?

umf · 23/05/2010 21:07

Flump here - it looks like a bump under clothes, but if you touch it it's just squidgy. Was v self-conscious taking DS swimming today.

gaga my tummy was v upset last pg, which I decided in the end was lactose-intolerance. I don't normally drink milk but started to when pg cos thought would be good for me. Apparently pg can cause temporary loss of lactase enzyme. Have been on lacto-free milk this time and all much better.

Also, I think those pregnacare tablets upset my digestion. I've been off them for a few days now and am feeling much better. Will look for a folic acid-only tablet. And maybe a liquid iron supplement, cos easier on tum.

Fenouille · 23/05/2010 21:53

Hi everyone, checking in from our holidays Hope you're all well. I'm enjoying some relaxation after a quite stressful trade show. We climbed the Puy de Dome today (very slowly in my case) and it was lovely to get out and do some proper exercise.

I'm starting to show quite well now as well and I'm already sick and tired of everybody touching my tummy - friends are just about OK, but a bunch of male colleagues who I only know professionally have now got into the act I really don't understand what makes it acceptable. And I still haven't found the appropriate response. Someone suggested I touch their tummies in return but I'm not sure I have the balls to do it. If anyone comes up with something better please do share!

nomoremagnolia · 23/05/2010 22:09

umf - my m/w said I didn't need to be taking any multi vits or folic acid after 12 weeks.

cluelessnchaos · 24/05/2010 07:19

I am having a lovely couple of days with dh in Edinburgh, I forget how flaming cold Aberdeen is, has anyone bought a maturity swimsuit. We are off to the French/Swiss border in July and I am starting to plan already.

comtessa · 24/05/2010 07:58

Hello everyone, hope you enjoyed the weekend and were able to bask in the heat? Congrats Rinnyx on your lovely bump!
I've had work colleagues and friends tell me I'm getting a bump (feels like a flump to me!) so was feeling quite good about it until I saw my dad at the weekend - he said: "Well you look as though the diet has slipped". Grrr, men!
DH being great though and loving the extra cleavage. Anyone else going shopping for maternity bras next weekend? Am planning to go to Bravissimo - have heard too many awful things about granny bras in M&S and John Lewis! Also - is it definite that we're okay to wear underwired as long as they don't press on your boobs? (Thinks of life without underwires and shudders...)

Happy Monday all!
xxx

potbellybear · 24/05/2010 08:55

Morning Ladies
