Hi all. Thought I would get the new thread started before the old one got too full! Thanks to nomoremagnolia for the title

hmmSleep · 19/05/2010 14:24

OK, have started a stats thread here as suggested by b00kw0rm.

Please go and make sure you're on there and your info is correct, I've added my hospital and tried to add any newcomers, but get the feeling I've missed some of you, sorry!

addictedisabigsisteragain · 19/05/2010 15:10

headless your having tiwins!!!!!! I missed that one!

hmmSleep · 19/05/2010 15:43

That's reminded me, Smokeybacon, I forgot to change your name on the stats thread!

smokeybacon · 19/05/2010 16:31

hmm thats ok. You can leave it as previous name, in fact prefer that if thats ok and not too confusing.

Back from hosptial and was able to have the tests, and they all went well. Although I currently feel like I've been kicked in the tummy. Am to just take it easy for the rest of the day, which I am quite happy to do! We'll get the results in a few days.

Congrats to your mum addicted, and hope the LO is better now - I saw your other thread. Just because I am really nosy, I am intrigued as to how old you are now and how old your mum is. It must be quite unusual, but quite lovely at the same time, for a mum and daughter to be pg at the same time. If you think I am being too nosy, by all means tell me to naff off!!

Booboobedoo · 19/05/2010 17:01

Glad you got your CVS smokeybacon, and hope clueless and lorelai are ok.

Did I mention I felt my first baby hiccups yesterday? Probably did.

Congratulations on your new baby sister addicted.

Flying post - off to cook DS's tea.

Lorelai · 19/05/2010 17:26

Hi again. I still haven't had time to read all the posts (internet issues plus 2 hospital appointments today!), but just wanted to let you know the scan went well. Measured at 12+4, so due date is back to the 27th - my birthday!

OP posts:
comtessa · 19/05/2010 18:33

Congratulations addicted!

And also big congratulations to Lorelai. And you're due on the same day as mine.

Does anyone else feel like they've done 300 sit-ups or taken a blow to the stomach? Feeling very tender yesterday and today. Am now 12+1.

Hello bookworm - I see this is your second PG - I trust all went well with DC 1? Did you have him/her in Nottingham or elsewhere?

xx

addictedisabigsisteragain · 19/05/2010 18:54

Felt abit poo today, tried my luck in getting into some of my more free fitting summer stuff as today was so nice but was a fail so DP will have to face it that I need to go buy afew summer friendly preggers bottoms/skirts

blondecat · 19/05/2010 19:26

hmmSleep, thanks for adding the new thread

Should we all seriously think about prams now? All is that just having fun?

I am just paranoid about (pram) delivery dates. I'd hate to be told (In August) "And you'll get it in six months, M'am"

Only maturity clothes for me at the moment are the HIDEOUS bras and only because the John Lewis lady scared me witless by claiming that wearing underwired will give me mastitis and breast lumps - even at this stage!

Has anyone found any nice looking, non-polyester maternity underwear?

b00kw0rm · 19/05/2010 19:36

Well done to lorelai on your scan- fingers crossed clueless is ok too... and glad you could have the CVS smoky. Comtessa- I had DD at QMC in Dec 08 in the midwife-led unit and was lucky enough to be able to labour in the pool as I think they only have 1? QMC itself was fine, but MWs were SO busy, just sticking her head round the door once an hour, so that's one of the reasons I'm thinking of having a homebirth if possible.
blondecat- don't know about prams seriously, but I have started bidding for looking at slings to buy !
No maturity clothes here yet, but am stressing a bit as I'm off on a work trip to Malaysia next week and because it's hosted at a Muslim place, we have to follow a strict dress code. So not only do I have to find clothes that fit, they also have to be suitable
Also, hmmsleep- nice work on the stats thread- though I suggested it, I'm glad someone else did the hard work of actually starting it!

harmonyb23 · 19/05/2010 19:38

hmmsleep I am 14+1 now, was hoping that the morning sickness would have stopped by now, but never mind, though it is horrible!

Glad to hear that everything is going well Lorelai.

Comtessa I felt like that yesterday, very fragile and a bit achy at times but then today I have been fine!

Blondecat I have bought some full briefs as all my normal knickers seem to curl up every time I put them on as my belly is too big now! I am still wearing my regular bras as well. I don't think I could get away without wearing an underwired bra so I'm sticking with what I already have for now. I am going to have to think about buying a new bra soon though as mine are all getting a bit snug!

Feeling much better today in terms of sickness, felt vile this morning but that soon passed. Have just been out doing some gardening with DP and DS which was fun but hard work on my back and very tiring. Going to have a nice hot bath and then curl up with a film and a hot chocolate!

smokeybacon · 19/05/2010 19:48

Oooh bookworm and comtessa, I'm a qmc deliverer too. No HB for me though with my situation. I thought my two previous births there have been fab, although the post natal wards less so. I feel in very capable hands though as far as births go.

I am also feeling a bit achy but thats probably from the needles inserted into my belly today. DH is home now, laden with work files. I was hoping he may cook tonight but its not looking likely. I am going to refuse to lift a finger I think.

Glad to hear good news from you lorelei

Rinnyx · 19/05/2010 19:54

blondecat I guess its up to you about the pram thing

I have picked one out and put on the mothercare baby plan so they hold it for 6 months and I can pay it off 10 days before delivery date (that they let me pick out, last Friday of Oct)
I only did it cause I love the pram and its £50 off for limited time plus I can cancel if I change my mind or hate to say it...anything happens

I am going to wait till 20 week scan before I look at baby clothes and wait till I hit 24/25 weeks before buying anything tho x

Kyuri · 19/05/2010 21:53

So..... fetal dopplers....

I know the arguments against having domestic ones and using them at home but I can't shake the need to know that everything is still OK in there between MW appt last week and 20 week scan which is still 4 weeks away (am not feeling any movement yet).

DH is very sceptical that it will cause more anxiety than it might allay. Perhaps I should head along to GP and ask her to have a listen (would GPs have the kit too or just MWs I wonder...?), but she'd probably think I was a bit of a loon.

Privet I know you said you had one and have found it great. Which model?

Anyone else have an opinion?

In other news I told my boss yesterday and he was great. Met with HR today but haven't yet told colleagues at large. Not exactly something that comes up in conversation and not sure how to shoehorn it in! Think I'm also a bit paranoid about the whole PG thing (see above!) and this is making me a bit slow to share the news more widely.

cluelessnchaos · 19/05/2010 21:57

Heard a nice strong heartbeat I have to go back tommorow to get an anti d injection and maybe measure the heamatoma again, thanks everybody.

champagnesupernova · 19/05/2010 22:02

Wow
You girls chat so much!
So much to catch up

Those looking for a doula in London = you know there's a FAB doula on Mumsnet called MarsLady, don't you?
I didn't have her as a birth doula but she was my AnteNatal teacher for DS 2 yrs ago, and she was amazing.

Kyuri · 19/05/2010 22:26

Great news on the scans clueless and lorelai and 4madboys!

Thanks for the stats thread hmm

bunnygirl80 · 20/05/2010 00:23

Thanks for the stats thread hmm smokeybacon glad you got your CVS

comtessa my abs have been tender for the last couple of weeks - defintely feels like I've done hundres of sit ups. I laughed really hard at something yesterday and ended up doubled over with the pain in my stomach, yet unable to stop laughing!

Congrats addicted

My belly seems to have popped out in the last couple of days - it definitely looks more like a mini bump than a flab roll now! I've been away at work for a few days and when DH saw me last night his first comment was "bloody hell, where did that bump come from!" so it's definitely emerged over the last few days

Lorelai · 20/05/2010 07:06

Thanks for the good wishes all.

In terms of prams, I was all set to order one, then got a chance to try out a stretchy sling at the weekend (and saw loads of other kinds being used, and went to a workshop on baby-wearing!), so am now not sure I need a new pram at all! Even DH wad convinced and would be happy to use a sling

Oh, and after my scan yesterday, we decided to tell DD (2.4) - I showed her the pics and asked her what it was; she said 'hedgehogs'! I explained that it was a baby and how would she like to have a baby brother or sister and she very adamantly said she wanted a sister, not a brother!

Glad to hear even more good scan news!

Rinnyx, people can add whatever they like to the stats thread , although perhaps not what I've just realised I did, sorry Fenouille, I put that you're in Harrogate rather than myself!

Have a midwife appointment today, dragging along 2 chicken poxed children with me so should be fun! Fingers crossed I hear a nice strong heartbeat, 17 weeks now and still haven't felt any movement, so a bit of reassurance would be nice.

Rinnyx · 20/05/2010 09:29

Thanks hmmSleep will add my 20 week scan date, feels like its dragging now even tho belly is growing fast and good luck for today x

ceasar04 · 20/05/2010 09:36

Hello everyone

Glad to hear scans went well, mine tomorrow, think I must be the last one? Anyone not has theirs yet??

My bump has just appeared over the last week or so, its way bigger than last time and look about 5 months not 3!! I was in Dunnes yesterday and bought some non maturity clothes but a few stretchy tops and a dress which should suffice for a few weeks although I have lots of friends ready with bags of stuff for me so looking forward to having a rummage. Its the same bags of clothes doing the rounds !! Will definitley be getting some jeans for later on though, those ones with the big panel that fits over the bump like big granny pants. Ooo they feel so lovely!!

blondecat/rinnyx we ordered from kiddicare.com and found it great, cheap and fast service. Don't really have much to buy this time around, went a bit over the top with DS .

nomoremagnolia I am so glad to see you on this thread, I remember you from the infertility boards ages ago, it was 07 I think so it must have been a bloody long slog for you so huge congratualtions to you and your DH, its brilliant . I was posting under a different name then and a bit of a lurker rather than poster !!

Off out with DS now, making the most of my last week off work now I'm feeling better, back next week.

C x

comtessa · 20/05/2010 09:58

Hi all, crikey lots going on! Very happy for the good scan results for all concerned so far.

Also, bookworm re. your forthcoming trip, it should actually be alright for you as all you need is clothing that covers you from wrists/forearms to neck to ankles, so a couple of nice long skirts or linen trousers and a tunic or two with a t-shirt underneath will be fine. Have you been to Malaysia before? I was there on honeymoon and it's much more relaxed than, for example, Cairo or Dubai. Just remember that trousers are okay, but it's considered TMI to have any tightness around the crotch! Hence tunics are a good bet when wearing trousers too. You could see it as a good opportunity to sort out a summer maternity maturity wardrobe?

Thanks smokeybacon for your input too re. QMC.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone! xx

grinningbee · 20/05/2010 10:49

Morning all!

Hope you don't mind me joining in as I now feel I can. I waited to join as I had a mmc back in 2007 and wanted to be really sure this was a sticky bean.

I have a 13 month old dd and am 15 + 5, so due 13th Nov... which is just over a week after my 40th birthday. Eeeeeek! No seeing it in merrily for me (more like fat and grumpy, ha ha!).

Hope you don't mind but I've added myself to the stats list.
