Oooh... A bit here of those of you able to have sleepy duvet days at home today! I'm stuck in the office with a dull meeting to look forward to that I think is going to take most of the afternoon. At least I shouldn't have to contribute much or use my brain; hopefully they won't mind me staring vacantly out of the window for a chunk of the time!

I don't think ear infections take too long to clear usually, spiders. I used to get them as a child and I think once I started on the antibiotics the pain would ease off within 48 hours or so and everything would be right as rain within a week. Not sure if it differs for adults though, and it was a long time ago that I last had one. I seem to remember covering my ear with something helped though.

I got a message on my answering machine yesterday evening that they're going to be trying to deliver the cot today. Interesting...given I ordered it for delivery during the third week in April. I can only assume someone wrote the date incorrectly.

According to the message it's not a problem if I'm not in (Good - since I'm not!) as they'll card me and I can rearrange delivery for free. Since the likelyhood of a Saturday delivery is slim, I'm vaguely hoping it's one of the bigger delivery companies that are based nearby (rather than a courier from goodness-knows-where) so I can go and collect one evening!

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/03/2010 14:12

Danielle Lloyd shes due around the same time as us. Do other peoples tummies look like hers?

beckyg123 · 17/03/2010 15:09

Hiya, feel like i've been missing in action for a few days! Not even posted on this new thread yet!
Had a brief glance through threads, will read through properly later tonight. Just wanted to check in!

I had a lovely spa day on friday. Had a moisturising body wrap and a nurturing massage (all designed for mum to be!) it was an amazing couple of hours! My skin feels amazing and so so so soft! Would really recommend a body wrap for anyone suffering from dry skin- it feels like my skin has had a good drink! Only thing was, it wasn't cheap.

DH and I have finally decided to have kitchen done while we still have a "spare room" to put everything in! so workmen have been in this week- its coming together nicely and the guys are super professional but i'm still feeling it all quite stressful! They are hoping to be finished tonight- fingers crossed! There is dust everywhere, i just want to clean up!

Just a wee comment on the emotional stuff people been talking about- i haven't really got any better- i am nothing but a nasty cow to DH who just continues to be nice to me- even though i can see the hurt in his face i seem to keep going. Then i have explosive tearfull sessions and even had a total tantrum to myself yesterday- lay on my bed and kicked my feet while punching the matress and crying into pillow!!! Honestly can't believe i did it all over nothing really.
Been to antenatal exercise class this afternoon and feel much better for it! Mood drastically improved so i don't know if some exercise is the key???

This was supposed to be a quick post! ooops!

Hope everyone is having a good day today- also very of everyone with duvet days today.

Chulita · 17/03/2010 15:55

My belly's a bit smaller than DL's at the mo but I have a disgusting overhang of flab leftover from DD so it's longer iyswim. of takeaways every day and still looking lovely!
becky, more at spa day.
And anyone who's of my duvet day, don't be, my futon is so uncomfy my back is killing me now!
I'm not nasty to anyone yet thank goodness, just cry everytime I watch OBEM, hah!

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/03/2010 16:14

Ive just started filling out the housing benefit form, as Im not working and DP doesnt earn loads we're going to need a bit of financial help. Its the longest bloody form in the world and they want proof of EVERYTHING and your not allowed to send copies so Ive got to physically go down there and show them the mountains of paperwork they insist on seeing before they give you a penny.

It'll all be worth it in the end...

stac14 · 17/03/2010 16:26

dh totally the same my end dp got a txt from an old work colleague bout how they met as friends, daft text we would send to the girls and i felt like texting her to say leave my man alone, so irrational

spider soz your ears still sore, earache is a killer

memphis did you get your results?

Poor chulita with your sore back. I have the same overhang at my tum from ds and no matter how much weight i loose it doesnt go away even after 11years lol

spireal hate it when companies mess up delivery dates, i have no storage so that would bug me, but that could be the hormones lol

becky i defo could be doing with one of those wraps but dont have the spare cash, have to make do with dermol from the doc lol. I checked the net bout mood swings and it did say they will come and go, mine seems to be once a week just now. Was there many at the class today? Whats the times again?

I was at physio today and was given the pelvic belt, not comfy and lo doesnt like it, as soon as it went on she started kicking like mad. I've to use it for shopping and stuff. Today with dp i kind of adopted the i'm right and you know it view but being very rational, which worries him as much as the screaming and shouting lol. Going to sort washing then dinner, never ending hope your having a good day x

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/03/2010 16:39

lol stac im glad its not just me then!

Im being a bit of a happy snapper atm, keep taking pics of my bump to see how its changing! Well it passes the time I suppose..

beckyg123 · 17/03/2010 17:03

Lol chulita yeh the spa wins!!! but it was last week- does it still count? I'm a little scared to watch OBEM this week coz of the emotions! think i'll wait til i have house to myself

DH and stac i'm not too bad with the jealousy but did get a little irrational when DH had a night out last week- got all stressed but think it was more a doze of the green eyed monster why is he allowed to go out when i can't!!!

stac class has doubled in size this week! a total of 4 of us! the other girls are lovely and it was a nicely relaxed environment- the physio it totally relaxed about what people can and can't manage and had a lovely relaxation session at the end! nearly fell asleep It starts at 1, again a relaxed just after 1 and is on just over an hour.

Jojobil · 17/03/2010 17:04

stac and other girls with pelvic pains. My yoga told me to try and change my shoes. And I got those hush puppies pumps and no pains for a few days! Woohoo!

Also don't wak up the hill anymore...

Crazy behaviour wise and jealousy. There has been such a propaganda recently with man being dogs in tv - Tiger Woods, Cheryl Coles guy Mark Owen, Vernon Kay etc... That it's no wonder we are paranoid! Plus the hormones of course!

beckyg123 · 17/03/2010 17:45

jojo i think that is good advice. I have started wearing my running trainers when i'm not at work and certainly feel they offer more support and my hip pain has improved quite remarkably! I also bought the dreamgeni pillow and started physio exercises at the same time so hard to know what exactly helped! I certainly walk much better (posture wise) with my trainers on!

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/03/2010 17:52

LO is bouncing around atm hehe, its still such a nice feeling. Didnt really feel him much over the past 2 days so its reassuring to feel him having a good time in there.

DP will be home in a min so need to get dinner on, pasta with chunky veg sauce, cucumber and red pepper on the side, yum!

kkfairybrains · 17/03/2010 17:55

hi everyone! haven't been on in a few days cos been really busy with work and stuff. read through all the posts but cant remember what any of them said! preg brain gettin very bad! well its st. patricks day here so no work 2day! we went in to town to watch the parade earlier and went for dinner and a drink and im at home now flat out on the couch and plan on staying this way for the evening! the sleep thing really getting to me at the minute as haven't been sleeping very well at all. i find it hard to get comfortable cos of back pain and really bad pain in my ribs and then i wake up for a couple of hours during the night with LO going mad kicking and somersaulting all night. and then having to be up every morn im just wrecked!
on the danielle lloyd thing dh my bump is bigger than that! evryone saying how neat it is though! but im a few weeks ahead of her so prob would have been about that size at her stage.

beckyg123 · 17/03/2010 17:56

mmm... DH that sounds yummy! Enough for 1 more? Think we are having takeaway tonight- just got in from work and workmen still here, could be a late one as the say that will stay til their done!

I'm loving the movements just now! think everyone else is bored with me telling them everytime but its just so exciting and sweet!

orangefizz · 17/03/2010 18:45

Aha I found you all!! Haven't been on for a while but been keeping half an eye on things

A quick question - does anyone know where you can get cheapish maternity tights, going to a wedding on saturday and just realisee normal ones would be really uncomfortable...?

Baby is really active atm, got woken up last night by kicking for the first time (and then couldn't sleep for 2 hours, dropped off and thrn DH woke me up 1/2 hour later with a coughing fit, so was then awake for good, done a full days work so now am zzzzzzzzzzz!

Loved the younger couple's birth in OBEM last night, it seemed like a really good one, I know she was obviously in pain, but apart from that (?!) I would hope for a similar experience this time. Can't watch a LO be born without choking up still!!

Hope you're all good

viksam · 17/03/2010 18:52

Hi Ladies
DH My belly doesnt look that big no, but its not too far off if i were to wear such a figure hugging thing.
chulita I cried at OBEM yesterday and do at the moment to anything mildly sad, my emotions are defo heightend at the moment. I think for me its down to tiredness, its my day off tomorrow and im so glad coz i really feel a bit over tired at the moment so kk i really identify with how u feel, a wreck is a good way of describing it. DH has just got home and gone straight out to the gym, i think he thinks im going to go to the supermarket and get some oven chips and cook them for him, and i probably should coz we forgot them when we did the shopping last night, but im way to tired but i feel really bad now, he is telling my to stop doing so much and on the other hand still wants me to do my bit at home?? He's really good but hasnt really had to look after me at all, im so independant usually he hasnt had to but things need to change a bit now i think.

DesperateHousewife21 · 17/03/2010 19:15

kk Im a week ahead of her but Im taller and dare I say slimmer than her so bump would be a different shape I suppose.

becky sorry we ate it all! It was v yummy though, Id love a takeaway havent had one in such a long time as we're supposed to be cutting down on such luxuries.

vik ditto, if I wore something that figure hugging it may look similar.

spidershavearrived · 17/03/2010 19:54

DH my bump is not like DL, I'm a completely different shape to her - wish my legs looked like that though

Becky once I get over this infection I may suggest to DP that I need a break and a spa day will be just what the doc ordered - sounds wonderful

Spirael I'm on 3rd day of ab's hopefully they will start kicking in soon

I've lost my appetite but have managed a bowl of rice krispies with lots of sugar! It's a step in the right direction I guess...

Orange Try H&M or New Look for tights?

I've got ANTM on sky plus - can't believe that I've admitted that but with DP out it's a bit of nonsense to watch... Have a good Wed evening.

stac14 · 17/03/2010 20:02

dh we had spag bol and garlic bread, great minds eh lol

kk happy st paddys day! Is it a big celebration? We mark st andrews but nothing exciting, haggis neeps n tatties euw lol

jojo i love my trainers lol, cant wait to better weather to get back in sandals and plimsols. Think i need to focus on posture too.

Also loving lo's movement becky sometimes it can be quite hard too lol

Hey orange try new look or maybe supermarkets?

viksam dp is like your dh not used to me leaning on him, while hes always helpful in the house, i am the one that deals with everything. With the pelvic thing he is gradually taking on far more than he ever has but it will give them a taster of what its like when lo's are here

Was obem sad? Or is it hormonal? X

OP posts:
stac14 · 17/03/2010 20:04

spider whats antm? X

OP posts:
beckyg123 · 17/03/2010 20:11

Agh! DH my hopes were up there!!! I had some beef thai green curry- yummy but home cooking would have been better. After this kitchen is in its back to beans on toast and penny pinching for a good while! Just realised how tight its going to be once on mat leave.

viksam i think your right- it is time for things to change! Hope you stayed home, i'm sure there must be something else DH can have? My DH is the same- encourages me to relax then thinks its strange i haven't done certain things!

spiders fingers crossed you feel better soon. Go back to Dr if ABs don't kick in soon- i would think that by tomorrow you should be feeling a difference. I used to get a lot of ear and throat infections before having wisdom teeth out and always felt much better after 2-3 days of ABs. Although don't know if they give you less strong ABs when pregnant?
what's ANTM? sorry if its a silly question!

spidershavearrived · 17/03/2010 20:23

Ladies sorry ANTM is Americas Next Top Model - appalling watching really! I just like to see the photo's (photography is a passion although I'm rubbish!!).

Beck yeah I think you're right the dosage is only 250 mg, I'm usually prescribed 500 mg, well I guess it's worth the pain if it means baba is going to be ok.

kkfairybrains · 17/03/2010 20:28

stac its probably more celebrated evrywhere else than it is in ireland!just parades in most towns and everyone off work for the day and evryone goes to the pub and drinks lots of guiness! i managed 1 bottle of cider! was just saying to dp on the way home i would love to just not be preg for 2day and go on a mad session! its not 2 often that evryone is out! oh well maybe next year!
was just talking to my friend and was telling her im not really sleeping and its worse when i go to my mums (i go every week for a night or 2) and she said 'right thats it.your staying wit me sunday night.bubble bath, treatment in the hair, blow dried, nails and toes done and painted, dermalogica facial and bed with candles.how does that sound' if i could have got down the phone to kiss her i would! soooooooooo looking forward to it

kkfairybrains · 17/03/2010 20:30

stac yum spag bol is one of my favs! Might do that at the weekend act.

becky I do love a good beef curry, Im rather partial to beef in black bean sauce from the chinese, Ive been really craving a chinese recently. Im going to an all you can eat chinese, indian and thai restuarant for my birthday but thats not til mid April grr!

spiders I used to absolutely love antm but it got so repititive I had to stop watching it. The cat fights in the house were hilarious sometimes though!
