DH21 Positive thinking for us all i think! aquanatal really does lift your mood too! I was in a great mood for rest of the day yesterday! My sciatica also seemed to ease up a lot! Tesco sell plain back swimsuits for a fiver! I just bought one in a bigger size, I haven't bought a maternity one as i think they are way over priced! lol! Everyone in our class seems really friendly and most people are in the same boat- going on their own to somewhere they know noone! Go on- be brave

stac14 · 24/04/2010 09:09

hey ladies, how are you all? violet and becky enjoy the baby show, i can't make it dp has to work and ds is playing footy, gutted! Let me know how you get on.

Its good to be open bout the pnd as mlic says just be honest. It is commen but treatable. I had ds in april and had to push myself to go out, but its defo the best thing to do.

Well glasgow is lovely and sunny and since i cant go to the baby show, i'm going to do my hair and nails, have a facemask. Boys not back till later so can have a break yay! Whats everyone else up to? X

DesperateHousewife21 · 24/04/2010 09:57

becky I will be brave! Ill have a look in Tesco today at their swimsuits

anifersgirl did you find out at your last scan if you were having a boy/girl?

Anifersgirl · 24/04/2010 09:58

Checked out you 4D pic Stac - we're very giddy and excited about it!! And yes, kids TV is lots of fun - I've actually literally just moved from producing preschool (Noddy, Fireman Sam,) to working 7-17 year old shows for Disney, which my Midwife thought was very badly timed

We'll be sure to post pics when we get back.

Anifersgirl · 24/04/2010 10:05

DH - we do know what it is, but we're keeping it hush hush as all the prospective grannies and grandpas seem adamant that they don't want to know... Have nearly let it slip SO many times though

I got a big sack of maternity clothes from ebay for about £15 when I first started growing out of my normal clothes - luckily I had a swimming costume in there too, and lots of other fab stuff - has worked out really well and def worth a look if you're still in need of maternity wear.

Other than that stuf I've only needed to get a pair of jeans (and a bigger bra by the week at the moment too...)

Jojobil · 24/04/2010 11:07

Hi Girls

It's a lovely day here But hormones and drama unfortunately. I had a very stressful week with bad news which kept me awake at night...

And DH promised to clear DD's room today ie. remove all the boxes with toys sort them clean and sort the shelves etc... Basically do a proper job! And then set the cot as my friend is coming for a week visit with her 4 month old and my DD has a double bed so she will be staying there.

Anyway DH of course brought me lots of dusty boxes to bed to sort out and started putting the cot up. I said that there is no need for it. It's the last thing I want to do. But he said I would not be happy with his sorting. Now terrible mess in both bedrooms, rubbish everywhere - but cot is standing. Ah man! We ended up having a huge fight. We made up now but I just feel like I have to always do everything myself....

I hope you girls are having a nicer Saturday...

memphis83 · 24/04/2010 15:56

hello ladies dh i feel the same i need to bite the bullet and go to aquanatel ive been talking about it since i was 8 weeks and now heading towards 30 with no swimming yet, i bought a vile maternity costume with lots of boob support but i cant face it!
welcome anifersgirl i bet keeping the sex a secret is hard we are struggling with just keeping the name a secret from people! cant wait to see your scan we had ours at 25 weeks my pics are on profile.
jojo poor you it was my turn last week to row with dh about cot it must be something about putting the cot up that starts us off!!

memphis83 · 24/04/2010 16:08

becky im 27 and my friend is 24 shes just had a baby and she discharged herself after 3 hours because she felt old saying it was full of very young girls and it made her feel uncomfortable, she is quite immature so im dreading it as i have always felt old b4 my time! i also agree with the comment your mum made on getting out the house every day even if it takes me til 4pm im determined to do it!!

Chulita · 24/04/2010 16:18

mlic sorry but had to lol at 'beastfeeding' definitely feels like that sometimes, good typo
I took DH to the beach for a picnic breakfast - unfortunately DD slept absolutely horrendously last night and didn't wake up til almost 9 so it ended up being more of a brunch and the beach was pretty busy when we left. I wanted to get there early so we'd have it to ourselves...nevermind!
We don't have aquanatal here but there is an aquafit class that I could go to. Only problem is that one of them is during DD's naptime and I don't have any babysitters and the other is in the evening and I just want to be in bed! I should do it though, it might give me an energy boost.

DesperateHousewife21 · 24/04/2010 17:54

jojo omg I came on here to basically rant about the same thing!! I went out with my mum today and left DP here, I told him to do the washing up and empty the dishwasher, I come home and the washing up is done but the dishwasher hasnt been emptied he'll "do it in a minute" and the laundry basket is still in the kitchen (it lives in the bedroom) a recycling sack waiting to go outside is still in the kitchen, his shoes are on the floor in the front room (why?! we have a shoe rack right by the front door!) why cant he see these things and think "ill do them to save DP doing them" grrr so annoying and if I didnt either do it myself or say something it would all stay there for a week getting in my way

anifersgirl ahh ok then hush hush Im just going to say that I predict its a girl

memphis LOL at your "vile" swimming cossie I dont own one yet I need to go and have a look at some I forgot earlier when I was in Tesco. I got a free maman bebe catalogue with my Pregnancy & Birth mag and theres a really nice maternity tankini in there but its about £25, thinking is it really worth it, it'll prob only get about 8-10 uses .

Its been really lovely here today, almost 20 degrees! Been out for a wander round town with my mum and had a real banana milkshake in a little cafe it was really nice.

Lol mlic is it really that bad?

beckyg123 · 24/04/2010 18:17

I'm just back from the baby show, had an absolutely fantastic time- violet thankyou thankyou thankyou!!!! got so many freebies i had to go drop them off at the car and go back in! Boots had a great offer for mums to be joining the baby club- got most from them!
I have also bought all the reuseable nappies i'll need for the first year at least- 20 in total - a mix of cotton and bamboo, 2 pieces with boosters all for £100! felt terrified handing over the money but feel i've done enough research to know i've got a bargain and its the right thing for us!
Bought lasinoh cream and breast pads much cheaper than usual too -how glamorous! hee hee!
stac if you can at all manage it tomorrow i would really recommend it!
violet did you have a good day? Never saw you but was looking out

beckyg123 · 24/04/2010 18:21

sorry to hear about you men dh and jojo they really can be so thoughtless at times!
DH put our cot up on thursday and did some housework without being asked and all by himself! i have to say i was majorly surprised as usually something like that would involve nagging and an arguement of some sort! I tried to act normally but TBH I think i wants a medal! and i think he thinks he's score points rather than it just being something he expects of himself!

stac14 · 24/04/2010 18:59

I am with you jojo and dh my dp is getting right up my humph right now. He got van sorted which he told me would be done by noon. I was still waiting at 2pm. Then i had to go to my aunts, for which he insisted on taking the van. I wanted to go to the shop to put money on the pram set my sis is buying but he made arrangements to go to his mums so told him to f*** off. I went with my aunt instead. When we got home, he too hoovered woopdedoo. Men!

becky that sounds fab, do you need to be there by 10? Think i will make him take me tomorrow. Whats at 2 piece you bought for £100 or am i reading wrong lol

chulita did you have your picnic? I have just been lazy re the swimming but i really need waxed before i attempt it lol

Sorry for moaning again. Hows everyone else tonight? Im waiting for britains got talent the highlight of my day lmao x

Sorry stac its 2 piece nappies with absorbant inner and waterproof wraps on outside! I didn't describe that well!
No its on 10-5, we got there about 11 and left at 2.30ish there were still people arriving then. If you can find the book start stall they also had loads of free books!
Lol at your "whoopdedoo" thats a great way to express how i feel sometimes... another moan from a couple of months ago- DH actually emptied the hoover for once, then phoned me at work to tell me he'd done it and then had a go at me about how full and disgusting it was! I screamed at him "what do you want, a F*ing medal?" and slammed the phone down much to the horror amusement of my colleagues who were desperately trying to keep their giggles in! Oh how professional

beckyg123 · 24/04/2010 19:43

I agree with mlic on keeping putting "july" back in the title- thanks stac carry on being the keeper please

kkfairybrains · 24/04/2010 19:59

oh god ladies there really must be something in the air! had another hormones session with dp today! and just like you i feel like i have to do everything! he was gone really good there for a while but since he started this new job he does nothing and im just too tired to do it all! and once the tears started coming today they just never stopped for about an hour! and everything he says or does is wrong! honestly i dunno how he listens to me when im like that which thankfully isn't too often! i must just make him feel like shit and that he can do nothing right! but i actually think he's brill and really nice and good to me but he'l just have to put up with my hormones sometimes!
girls im very jealous of you getting free stuff at the baby show! theres nothing like that in ireland! would love to go to one!
who was it here that was talking about a tummy tub? think we'r gonna get one too as was talking to a girl today who has one for her 6 week old and she says she's so relaxed since she got it! baby finds it very hard to poo and when she was in the tummy tub for the first time the other day she was that relaxed that she just pooed and pooed in the water! ha ha!but she'd def recommend it she said.
dh your talk of banana milkshake has got me wanting one now! down in my mums for the weekend and after sending her to the shop to get the stuff to make one! and who was talking about the pitta with chips and mayonnaise the other day? had to have that after reading it too and it was very yummy! honestly aomeone only has to mention something and i wont stop thinking bout it til i have it!
throat still very bad today couldnt swallow at all when i woke this morning and think there was white spots on it. had appointments this morn though so just had to get on with it but gonna get to bed early tonight me thinks!
oh yeah stac happy enough for you to do new thread if you dont mind? and agree with mlic about putting 'july' in there somewhere! prob should keep the same title though for this one and change it for the next one before babies arrive!ahh getting so close! was 30 weeks yesterday!

kkfairybrains · 24/04/2010 20:02

lol becky that sounds so like me sometimes! it would really drive you nuts that they have to point out what they done or we have to notice it when what we do goes totally unnoticed all the time!.pmsl at woopdedoo too stac! i use that word alot too!
