Booboo I think there's a fair bit of padding around my tum tum, so nothing hard as yet. Weirdly I feel nervous to even poke too hard. So sweet about your little one!

Today I definitely feel my hormones have surged, as I nearly passed out in a hot office this afternoon and felt sick and shaky afterwards. God so embarrassing, and I can't imagine this remaining secret for long.

Got home and tested with a Clearblue digital and my hormones have definitely gone up in two days as it's now saying 3+ weeks when only was 2-3 weeks at the beginning of the week! Yes I know, sad to STILL be testing. But is reassuring so worth it I suppose.

Amazingly managed to get out of the client dinners this week so planning an evening on the sofa and an early night which I need as I am sleeping really badly and tossing and turning/going to loo. SO annoying.

Booboobedoo · 03/03/2010 20:11

honeymoo I just went off and pissed on a stick too. So reassuring.

The lump is just above the - ahem - pubic bone, so I pull my fat upwards, then feel.

Nice picture, eh?

addictedtomn · 03/03/2010 20:19

evening all, i am being completly unreasonable this evening, i know i am but i just cant help it my dh has phoned to say his meeting over ran slightly and now hes off to another one and isnt going to be back untill 10pm. i couldnt help but burst in to tears and get all sulky. i know its not his fault. but i would have like him to come home before 10pm!

i know what you mean about weeing in the night honeymoo, i'm up about 3 times in the night at the moment, which is really annoying by the time i've turned all the lights on and off, i'm not tired any more (i cant go to the toilet with out the light on, even when its light in the room i still have to turn the light on ) i dread to think how bad its going to get later on

boo, i keep ping on sticks, very reassuring especially when you can see the line getting stronger and stronger.

rollerbaby · 03/03/2010 20:47

I can't feel anything!!!! My husband is looking on munching hob nobs... great.

OP posts:
Booboobedoo · 03/03/2010 21:03

I have to do a teeny sit-up to feel it - it disappears when I'm prostrate.

Hobnobs eh? Men gain loads of weight when their partners are pregnant, you know.

addicted - i was like that in my first pregnancy. Think DS is going to keep me too busy this time around.

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 04/03/2010 07:36

Are you sure you aren't all feeling hernias??

fifisboys · 04/03/2010 11:03

Hello to everyone, good to see the list is growing as well

I have my appointment for my early scan, its on wednesday morning...i'm terrified!!!
On the plus side i do feel pregnant, really sore boobs, ready to go back to sleep by lunch time and up through the night weeing which i never do...i'm just praying things are ok.

Booboobedoo · 04/03/2010 11:55

lol @ hernias. That's be a sweet nickname for the foetus.

'Little hernia is very wriggly today'.

gingertoo · 04/03/2010 12:00

Hi all

I'm smiling at you being able to feel baby! My stomach is so wobbly even when I'm not pregnant that it's going to be a long time til I can feel something!

Good luck with the scan fifisboys I had 2 mc between sons 2 and 3 so I do understand your anxiety but do try not to worry. Your symptoms sound very promising

I've had a nervewracking morning. I had a transabdominial / internal ultrasound a couple of months ago as I was suffering from painful / long / irregular periods. I have since found out I'm pregnant so was very worried that something would turn up on the scan that would affect the pregnancy but thankfully the scan results have come back all normal - pheww!

Got appointment to book in with midwife in a couple of weeks..

Energumene · 04/03/2010 14:58

I'd love to be able to feel my baby at this stage, but with my size being what it is, everyone is going to assume I'm fat and not pg until I'm at least 5 months gone

But that's probably a good thing this time.

Heartbeat may be visible on a scan from 6+2 or 6+3, and they may let you listen to it on the scanner as well, but it's more tricky to get the heartbeat on the doppler that early. I wouldn't try getting the doppler out until 12 weeks for fear that you worry yourself sick if you can't find the heartbeat. It's definitely a knack, especially in the earlier stages: just remember to look much lower than you think you should and you'll stand a better chance of getting it.

Would love an early scan, but not sure I'll be able to talk them into one unless I bleed or something, but I'll see what the GP has to say tomorrow morning when I see her. She is going to laugh at me because the last time I saw her I was asking to go back on the pill

God I feel sick. Anyone got any remedies?

hmmSleep · 04/03/2010 17:31

Energumene, the only remedy I have for morning sickness is to force yourself to eat, even if you really don't feel like it, and go to bed early, I really do find ms is so much worse if you're hungry or tired, but as mentioned earlier I ended up in hospital on a drip last time, so maybe not the best to advise. Although I feel a bit icky at the moment, thankfully it doesn't seem too bad for me yet.

Is it really possible to feel the baby at this early stage? I was pretty slim prior to dd (after 2 dcs, not so slim!) and couldn't feel anything, but then I remember later on when the midwife used to have a good feel around to check position, size etc saying 'oh, there's the head', or 'I can feel a foot', I'd have a good prod when I got home and could never quite tell what was baby and what was me then either!

Poppy7 · 04/03/2010 18:10

Hello, can I join please? I got my BFP on Tuesday night and am still in shock - we only started trying last month and was expecting it to take a little longer

My main symptoms (at 5+4) have been sore boobs, breathlessness and rather terrible farting . What is all this I have been reading about bras without underwire? Do I have to swap to maternity bras now or is that just meant to be a more comfortable option? There are so many things to think about!

hmmSleep · 04/03/2010 18:45

Congrats Poppy7!

There isn't really any solid evidence either way about the bra thing, but most midwives advise swapping to non wired quite early on as the breasts start changing (as many of us have already noticed!) very early and some think the wire may interfere with the natural changes in size and shape of the breast obstructing the increased blood flow or squash the developing milk duct system.

I have plenty of friends who wore underwired bras throughout pregnancy with no problem, personally I would have found this sooo uncomfortable, but I do like to feel comfy!

I was pissed off when I went shopping for a nice underwired bra for my wedding day though (I was 8 months pregnant at the time) and the woman in John Lewis nearly refused to sell me one because I was pregnant. I felt like a naughty school girl being told off for dressing inappropriately!

kawaiiko · 04/03/2010 19:21

Hello all, especially everyone who's since I last popped in! Can't believe how fast the list is growing now!

So are people buying maternity bras now then? Isn't there a risk that your boobs will just keep on growing and you'll have to get new ones in a few weeks time? Or is that the point?!

Gah, I have been feeling really queasy all day and totally of all the things I am supposed to be eating. I normally eat low carb (ie eating my fill of fruits and veggies but avoiding refined sugar, pasta, bread etc.) but at the moment the thought of any of my usual food choices makes me feel a bit green...I made a mahoosive bolognese sauce yesterday with really posh mince but it tasted yuck. Dh assures me it was in fact delicious!

So here I am, mainlining biscuits and contemplating white rice for tea! Got some seabands today and having a rooibos tea with fresh ginger. I feel...queasy . On the plus side I've not been sick (yet?!)

hmmSleep · 04/03/2010 19:45

Not buying maternity bras, but I already own quite a few non-wired ones, so have been sticking to them.

I still keep eating pies .

ymmm pie

Although I am about to go eat a large bowl of ben and jerrys with melted cadburys dairy milk on top. Morning sickness can't be that bad, I'm going to get REALLY fat, oh hang on, I did this prior to being pregnant too .

crumpetsolo · 04/03/2010 19:51

Hmm, my best morning sickness cure was to keep snacking - I kept a stash of plain-ish crackers by the bed/in my bag/at my desk etc etc

Had my pre-booking appointment today, very exciting to have another yellow book! The only annoying thing is they insist in using that damn wheel thing to calculate EDD, even though it only works if you have 28 day cycles not 45 day cycles. Hmph.

rollerbaby · 04/03/2010 20:03

Girls I'm panicking somewhat. Went to the loo today and on wiping I happened to notice a tiny bit of faint red on the already wet paper. I didn't know whether I was imagining it so had a manual try with paper if you know what I mean and also put a tampon in to see... and nothing. Had a tiny bit of mild dull crampy feelings but nothing that out of the ordinary - more like very mild period pains when its coming on.

No more blood since and feel ok. Am having an early scan tomorrow now instead of monday as felt I can't wait. Since I'm only 6 weeks on Monday though, am I wasting my time?

Really scared.

MarthaFarquhar · 04/03/2010 20:36

gosh honeymoo, that must be a worry
although I know lots of people who have spotted throughout their pregnancies, to no ill effect
do you have an EPU anywhere nearby? I think most accept self-referrals for any pain or bleeding.

fingers crossed for you m'dear

hmmSleep · 04/03/2010 20:39

Will keep my fingers crossed for you honeymoo. As mentioned before I do know people (close friends) who spotted early on and went on to have problem free pregnancies, so don't panic and hopefully the scan tomorrow will put your mind at rest.

rollerbaby · 04/03/2010 20:45

I really really hope so. My husband is being all calm and ok about it, I am being a nervous wreck. I feel REALLY stupid for telling more people than I should have now. Thanks girls, will let you know how I get on.

Hi I just wanted to drop by and say hi to all you November 10 mummies. I was on the Nov 08 thread. I hope you find lots of support here like I did. Good luck

kawaiiko · 04/03/2010 21:02

Ah honeymoo, I have my fingers crossed for you - I'm sure you will be absolutely fine but you must be worried. [hug emoticon]

crumpetsolo, what's a yellow book? I went to see my GP and he used the wheel on my and said he was writing to the community midwives but that was it.

crumpetsolo · 04/03/2010 21:03

honeymoo I had spotting with DS up to about 8 weeks - bright red and brown - had an early scan and all was fine. Fingers crossed all ok for you

hmmSleep · 04/03/2010 21:09

honeymoo, really don't panic, sure all is fine, and certainly don't feel bad for telling people, you'll be glad of their support through the bad (hopefully not needed!!) as well as the good!

I'd told loads of people last time and was actually really glad I had when I mc, I felt I didn't have to act all perky and to be honest needed the sympathy. The only reason I've kept things a bit quieter this time, (though have still told Mum, Dad, Sis, mil, fil, gran, and 2 friends ) is that last time I told my dd, she was so excited and then didn't really understand when I said I was no longer having a baby, seeing her little face was actually worse than the mc, so really don't want her to find out this time.

But really, don't panic, if you google it (which I'm sure you have) you'll see spotting really is quite common in early pregnancy.

gingertoo · 04/03/2010 21:41

Hope you are ok honeymoo.

I had spotting through my pregnancies with all three boys.

Like someone else said, an EPU could perhaps arrange an early scan for you to ease your mind?
