Ooh, shall we start a list? This list is going to start growing very soon!

kawaiiko - pg1, age 29, EDD 2nd Nov

hmmSleep · 24/02/2010 21:14

Good idea

kawaiiko - pg1, age 29, EDD 2nd Nov
hmmSleep - pg3, age 35, EDD 1st Nov

hmmSleep · 24/02/2010 21:16

Just realised I'm not entirely sure what pg + number means I presumed it meant I've got 2 children so this will be my 3rd?

rollerbaby · 24/02/2010 22:00

Makes sense to me!

Hello Just thought I'd wish you all the best of luck - had my DS November 2009, is a very good month to be born (!), and seeing your thread made me smile, remembering when I found out last year. Hope everything goes smoothly and pleasantly for you all.

kawaiiko - GP sounds ace! I need to get me one like that.

I told my one of my sisters, as I would want to talk to her if anything went wrong. Only problem is that she is rather indiscreet, so this is probably the equivalent of announcing it at a press conference

princerhysmum · 24/02/2010 22:22

congrats, i know it really early days but its just so exciting, my son is now nearly 6, all that baby and bump stuff seems soooooooo long ago, im due in late october, and i really cant wait, good luck with your scan. mine is in a few more weeks
oh and enjoy the lack of MS as it will get ya soon..........and deff the dad, i just wanted to slap him, hope he watches that back, to hear how bad he really sounded, even the hubby thought so........................that says something!!!

zenthinking · 25/02/2010 10:37

Can I join? I got a BFP three days ago and luckily no MS yet but do have sore boobs, sore/crampy tummy and a craving for burger and chips !

I'm going to see the doctor next week. I'm pretty happy with my due dates so don't think I need a dating scan but I would like an early scan anyway because of my age. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Have DS 19month and this is my second try at a second DC as I had a m/c last year so crossing my fingers and legs for 12 weeks.

hmmSleep · 25/02/2010 13:10

Congratulations and welcome zen and Libra Libra, I'm in a similar situation, also had a mc last year and now feeling ultra paranoid about every little twinge. Fingers crossed for both of us .

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 25/02/2010 13:13

Yes I have just told DH we can't have sex for 12 weeks as we had sex on the morning I miscarried and now am paranoid that's what caused it (even tho with my sensible head on I know it's not). Poor DH

hmmSleep · 25/02/2010 13:25

I have read that having sex really can't cause miscarriage, but I know where your head is, I'm thinking 'what if' every time I lift something heavy and I have had a bit of a tummy bug, which is probably actually just pregnancy hormones, but now I'm paranoid that's going to cause problems, and the poor child with chicken pox I was avoiding like the plague at jo jingles! Found out at my 12 wk scan I'd had a mmc last time, so I won't be happy until I see a healthy baby on the scan.

Sorry if scaring anyone, not sure about etiquette on these things! I'm sure we're all going to be fine .

MarthaFarquhar · 25/02/2010 13:30

welcome Zen, Libra

hmm, Libra - sorry to hear of your mcs. I can't imagine how stressful this must make these early days.

please don't worry about scaring people. I'll be pretty nervous after the scan as you really never know what might happen. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed

kawaiiko · 25/02/2010 18:52

Hi Libra, hi Zen

I've reordered the list in date order

Sirboobalot and princerhysmum, thanks for popping by! I'm a November baby myself and it is a great month to be born...

hmmSleep, echo what Martha says - don't worry about scaring people, this is our space to be open about all our worries and thoughts!

hmmSleep · 26/02/2010 19:45

19:43 and shattered, early night I think, is it the pregnacy or the fact my poor dd was up for 4 hours vomiting last night?

rollerbaby · 26/02/2010 21:13

Probably both! I know what you mean though. I have been a grumpy cow this evening... can't help myself if you know what I mean.

OP posts:
kawaiiko · 26/02/2010 22:54

Me too! I took some impromptu flexi leave this afternoon because I was so grumpy. It was either that or silently fume at the computer for hours. Had a fantastic nap, just what I needed.

VodkaGirl77 · 27/02/2010 09:11

Think I'm going to pluck up my courage and join you all! I'm 32 years old, have two dds aged 6.6 and 3.8, but this will be my first with dp, who is 40 and doesn't have any children of his own.

I'm really nervous - had chemical pg last month, so still scared that it could happen again.

I'm so exhausted at the moment, been in bed at 9 every night this week, and then wake up at 5am needing the loo grrr!

Anyway looking forward to getting to know you all and these are my stats:

crumpetsolo · 27/02/2010 20:10

Can I join up? A little bit disbelieving still as it took soooo long to conceive DS, I thought I wouldn't even be pregnant until November let alone in labour!

A bit of a funny question considering this is my second, but I genuinely can't remember - what do I do now? Do I need a GP's appointment or do I just call the midwives and get a booking appointment sorted..?

Hi crumpetsolo, congratulations!

Think it depends on where you live, but in my neck of the woods they don't do anything until 8 weeks, so I'm going to make a GP appointment in a couple of weeks, just so I'm on their books so to speak, then wait for them to send me a booking in and scan appointment.

Energumene · 28/02/2010 03:09

Hi everyone, and congrats on all those BFPs

I've yet to have mine, but it's pretty much a formality at this point - I've been pg 6 times before and the symptoms are totally unmistakable! But only one baby to show for it, my lovely ds who is 3.9.

I'm another one who is flying very much under the radar. It's partly the past history of mc, partly the fact we weren't actually trying and partly that I would also like to get any testing etc out of the way before even telling family or friends. At this rate I won't be telling anyone until August, at the earliest

Symptoms so far: nausea, sore boobs, weeing for England, period pains without a period, loads of CM.

Would love an early scan, and might be able to wangle one with my history of mc, but also because the minute I get a BFP we're going to have to sort out whether I stay on the lithium, and I'm also a touch paranoid about not having been prepping my body with folic acid etc, so some reassurance would be nice. It'll start feeling real when I see that heartbeat flickering, whereas right now I'm still in shock.

Congratulations energumene, keeping my fingers crossed for you, really sounds like you've been through the mill

I was up early today on my one day in the week I get chance for a lie-in, the ms is really kicking in and lying in bed seems to make it worse. Hope all keeping well

addictedtomn · 28/02/2010 10:48

morning all, i've been lurking but guess i should actuallyy join!

addictedtomn - pg1, age 22, EDD 30th Oct-5th Nov

my cycles are so irregular that i'm not completly sure! but as there are lots of people already ont the october bus and there is more chance that it will be a nov. baby i thoight i'd all come and join you guys!

i've had 2 mc and on the 13th of ;march am due for an operation to find out why, i obviously wont be going for this now, but as we made lots of plans for afther the operation (people to stay with me, visits to the hospital, etc etc, i've had to tell quite a few people i'm pregnant plus add to that the mornring sickness, trapped wind and eating and peeing for england! more people than i would have liked to know, know.
never mind, hopefully if i do have another mc, they will all be there to support me.

right i'm rambling now so i'll go back to lurking!

Right, I'm supposed to be writing an essay today (for a course that has nothing to do with work and is beginning to look like a less than great way to make me really really tired!) so if you see me on here too much, yell at me!

I have the most horrendous trapped wind atm . Really painful! If anyone has any tips do let me know!
