Hi all,

I'm 5+1 and had my first gp appointment yeseterday. They are incompetant at the best of times, and yesterday was no exception. When I left I realised they hadn`t even asked me when medication I was on and I take quite a lot of prescriptive stuff. Luckily I checked this all with various specialists before we started ttc.

I now am aparently not due for any medical anything until I hear from the hospital that my GP will write to (Whittingham in Highgate, London) when she gets round to it.

I`m pretty concerned at not getting any advice or support for the next seven weeks, until my 12 weeks scan.

Is this normal? Should I change GP? Is there any other way of getting some medical support without paying a fortune?

Any advice would be very gratefully recieved!

Hi guys - I think everyone's moved to the new thread (Loopsymummy's linked to it a couple of posts down).

hullo!

did THREE tests last week and i think EDD is mid Nov. 1st baby so very excited. not much in term of symptoms. sore boobs, exhaustion and breathlessness climbing stairs but no ms at all. touchwood

the few friends we've told are asking if i'm a barfmonster and i'm starting to get a wee bit twitchy cos i haven't been sick at all!

scan scheduled for end apr and mw appt 3 days later. is that usual? reception at my docs told me the mw is 'very very busy' and the earliest i could see was 27 apr. still trying to figure out how the nhs system works for babies.

Been back from holiday since Friday. Had bleeding last night and called the hospital straight away. Had a scan this morning and saw the bean, complete with heartbeat! So happy that the fetus is in the right place this time. The sonographer said the bleeding was implantation bleeding that hadn't been reabsorbed and was now coming out. So excited now, it's so much more real when you finally see something on a scan. How is everyone else doing? Just attempting to read back through your posts!!! x x x

hi everyone

congrats to you all.

I'm pregnant and want to shout it from the rooftops but I know its really early still.

I have told some family and friends and even a couple of strangers cause I am doing this alone and telling people made it seem real as BF doesn't want anything to do with it. but thats his loss.

I am loving the fact I am having a baby and cant wait to experience every little bit of this pregnancy. My boobs are so big and sore, nausea (Lollipops are the best cure) and I'm constantly tired oh and me and the toilet are like best friends right now - I can't drink anything without peeing.

I know I have a bright future with my bundle of joy and so glad this site is here as I am sooo new to all this baby stuff. I have friends who have kids but I've never really been mummsey and now it just seems like a whole new world.

Hi imissushi

Not seeing anyone until about 12 weeks is pretty normal, thats when I had my scan & 1st mw appointment. I am currently 14w today. It does seem like a really long wait and like you i thought this can't be right.

The mw will go through all of your medication etc with you(and maybe ask you to take it to the appointment with you) but at least you have been able to get some advice in the interim with your specialists.

good luck
