Chacha, and Bob, congrats on your boys! Boys are lovely. I was a bit nervous about having Tobes. I kept thinking I wouldn't know how to change his nappies and clean his willy properly! All silly because there's lots of information and it all comes naturally quite quickly. When they're older you can't beat that puppy-dog smell little boys have when they've been running around. So sweet.

KristinaM, I have to say I'm leaning towards a C-section. The thought of my scar rupturing terrifies me though I know it's fairly rare for that to happen. I just hate the thought of putting my or the baby's life at risk for no real reason. I don't feel a great need to deliver naturally but I'll do my research and try to learn a bit more before deciding for sure. We have settled on a favourite name and it is a bit unusual. It's Rosamund and we'd call her Rosie. Our favourite middle name is Rae, which is my mother and sister's middle name so she'd be Rosamund Rae and in Texas they could call her Rosie Rae. We still do that double name thing a lot. I'm Kathy Jo, my sister is Nikki Rae, brother is Jon Nealey etc, etc.

BEKs, so cool that you have your girly nights out. I've been thinking about Toby and how to help him adjust to the new baby. He's had his own babydoll for a while but I've noticed that he's playing with her more lately and insisted on bringing her to the ultrasound on Wed.

Had a really tough day yesterday. Got stuck in terrible traffic in Greenwich with no AC. I've been getting really dizzy because of the low blood pressure and I was afraid that I was going to pass out. Everything kept getting dark around the edges and I wanted to pull over but there was nowhere to go! Horrible. Felt completely sick by the time I got home and had to pull out of a Mommy & Me group I was really looking forward to today. It's in Kensington Gardens though and I'm so afraid of passing out in the heat or feeling sick again and getting stuck in London.

So, DH set up the paddling pool before work this mornning and Tobes is already out there splashing around. I'm going to try to catch up on some admin and look for a car with AC! Too hot to be without it.

Busy, took me ages to finish my post and missed your last one. I can imagine how upset you must feel but thankfully no one was hurt. As everyone is saying, try not to worry too much about the what ifs. After a fright like that I'm sure you'll never underestimate DS again. Hope you're feeling better.

bamik · 15/07/2005 13:28

Busyalexsmummy {{{{{{{{{{{{{BUG HUG}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

At least no one was hurt. I know it's easy to say but just be thankful that Alex is ok.

And by the way - You're not stupid!

I almost had one of my hisy fits last night because I couldn't be bothered to polish the coffee table . I'm sure that hubby thinks that I've lost it - big time

Busyalexsmummy - R we due on the same date (19th Nov). Sorry but preggie brain has got the best of me!

Whooopppiee for Chacha - Having baba boy like me. How are you all? I find that at the moment I get really ticked off at the slightest thing and cry at the slightest thing. But pathetic really!

Busyalexsmummy · 15/07/2005 14:00

finally have calmed down now but still cant beleive i didnt think about the window being open and register in my head that he can climb so...

nova-hope your m/w appt goes well

cads-thankyou, not sure who he looks like the most, most people say he looked like dp till about 10 months then everyone started saying he looks more like me..so..? have no idea where he got the blue eyes from though, as dp likes to say-our postman is a lady and we dont get our milk delivered!
did you see the bump picture? wonder how i measure up to you lot, on the site i seem to be a pretty average size, which is a relief!
a girl-awww bet your chuffed!

twinkle-i thought i was completely safety kitted, 3 stair gates, socket covers in every socket, corner protecters, toilet lock...oviously not, shall be buying window locks now too!
the thought of your ds stuck to the freezer did make me laugh though-sorry!

novadandypowder · 15/07/2005 15:20

mw appointment went well, the midwives do like to chat though, i thought I'd only be 15 mins as it was only a check up and was in there for half an hour. Got to weigh myself - getting a bit obsessed about gaining weight and we don't have scales at home - and I've put on 1 and a half kgs in the last 4 weeks which puts me back up to my pre-pregnancy weight. So anything now is excess baggage - am getting very scared of never getting my figure back, which must seem very vain of me etc.. but I can't help it. Will re-join the gym when i get back from holiday and get swimming again, i want to get some of my fitness back now i have a bit more energy.

It's quite shocking how quickly my body is changing now, DH pointed out how my boobs are hanging in a funny way as i was getting out of the bath a couple of days ago (quite brave of him considering how my moods are), and friends i haven't seen for a while comment on the bump. And it's only going to get bigger!!!!

babyonboard · 15/07/2005 15:36

busyalexsmum...don't worry, things like that happen all the time..a few months ago when it was freezing cold my ousin took his dd to regents park in the buggy, parked it next to the water and was chatting away when she tipped it forward into the icy pond..he dumped the buggy and ran home with her shaking and crying, and couldn't get over thinking he wasn't paying enough attention..
these things happen a lot, i ate cat worming pills when i was 3 which my mum had forgote nto put back in the cupboard.
nova- i was worried about weight gain, as i never weighed myself before, just went on clothes size, and last time i was almost 11 stone...quite a shock, as i was only 9 a couple of years back at my well-woman check.
has anyone that had scans recently been called back for one in three weeks? i am panicking now as the sonographer said it was routine, to check the placenta and risk of premature labour, but there was also a slight problem detected last night which he assured us was nothing to worry about. I'm panicking it's because of this, and not routine and he just didn't want to worry us.

bamik · 15/07/2005 16:05

Tell me about it Nova,

I already think that I look like elephant woman at 21 + 6 and I'm scared to think I've got about 18 weeks left to go . How much bigger can I get! U should see my arse! DH keeps grabing it and telling me how huge it's getting (along with huge boobs)!

I dunno which is bigger, arse or boobs (LOL)!

novadandypowder · 15/07/2005 16:13

DH's favourite thing for the last month or so is to say, 'you're looking really pregnant now' or 'you're looking bigger'. I have banned both of these and anything related to them, even though I know he's only doing it because he's excited and can finally see that there's something growing in there

Diddle · 15/07/2005 16:20

sorry to crash guys but have a question and the ttc thread is a bit dead today.
If i did a pg test this morning and got a BFN what are the chances of the result changing to a BFP this afternoon. i'm trying to decide whether to waste another test or not, and clues

babyonboard · 15/07/2005 16:21

pretty slim..don't waste it or get your hopes up..wait a few days (if you can bear it)

Diddle · 15/07/2005 16:27

thanks baby on board i have no will power at all but i knwo i should wait.

twinkle1 · 15/07/2005 16:28

hi diddle,
depends which tests u are using?? strongest concentration of hcg hormone is always first thing in the morning.if you are past your due date and not on, it can change from neg to pos quite quickly. The more you drink the more dilute you make the hcg so the less likely it is for the test to pick up the hormone and show a bfp!!
hope this helps keep us updated

Diddle · 15/07/2005 16:32

thanks twinkle, i'm due on today.

twinkle1 · 15/07/2005 16:36

I would try in the morning, cos there is more chance of an accurate result then, but i know it can be difficult to hang on that long.
lots of love and hugs

Hi girls, know I don't get on much but just wanted you to know I'm thinkingof you all still.
Been so busy, baby doing somersaults I'm sure, still not kicking though ??
Twinkle1 I'm in Skelton near Guisborough ??
My friend in the office is from Hartlepool too near the Saxon Pub apparently ???
Love to all xxx

tex111 · 15/07/2005 17:30

Diddle, I must've taken hundreds of pregnancy tests in the years I was trying to conceive. Unusually, first thing in the morning wasn't a great time for me. Afternoons were better. If you want to save your test until tomorrow then distract yourself a bit with one of my favourite obsessing websites. It's www.peeonastick.com. All about home pregnancy tests by a woman who is even more obsessed than I was (and that's saying something!). Great FAQ page on that site too. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Diddle · 15/07/2005 17:47

tex, thank you, i used it, got plenty more though and have ordered some more this afternoon. it was BFN again, but i don't feel really feel like Af is coming just yet. but we'll see.

sarahsausage · 15/07/2005 17:52

ooo fingers crossed for you diddle!!

Diddle · 15/07/2005 17:58

thanks sarahsuasage, my dad used to call me that, and sarah diddle, thats where diddle came from.
thanks i'm trying to think positive

tex111 · 15/07/2005 18:03

Diddle, have you tried www.medisave.co.uk for tests? Really inexpensive and very sensitive tests. Only problem is they don't do the sticks so you have to catch your wee in something. I ordered some of their little plastic cups for the purpose and it was all still cheaper than buying tests at the chemist. Good luck!

BEKsmum · 15/07/2005 18:22

Busy sweetheart don't beat yourself up, I did virtually the same thing in the last hot spell, my sash bedroom window was wide open and we have an ottoman below the window, I bent down to turn the computer on looked up and Ben was leaning over half way out. It scared the pants off me too and like you I was shaking & crying and beating myself up, we've certainly learnt our lesson I'm sure! Glad your little one was ok & no harm was done. Sending you {{{{hugs}}}}}, great this parenting lark isn't it & we thought our parents got grey hair 'cos they were getting old!!!

Cads lovely news, congratulations, that makes it 8 boys & 3 girls now doesn't it! My scan is next Thursday (21st) but we won't be finding out, even though I am really tempted

Tex lovely name, good choices, Ben has had a doll & pushchair since he could walk and has also shown more interest in it lately, I think we'll just have to wait and see how they react then hope that we can all help each other out as we go along.
You're more than welcome to join our girls nights out, we are a mad bunch & no discussion is taboo, so not really for the faint hearted but we do always have a great laugh, will probably find that it is one of these sessions that will send me into labour!
Take it easy with your blood pressure, easier said than done I know but if you want some info on local mother & toddler groups etc let me know I know loads of them as was constantly out when Ben was little!

Diddle will keep everything crossed for you, keep us informed, we desperately want you back on the November thread as a super honary member.

Right hope everyone else is ok, Rodeo, where have you gone have you b**gered off the October thread or what?

Got to go as picking up Ben's best friend from her childminder and Ben will be back from the golf range with daddy & granddad soon, not sure what he's more excited about, hitting proper golf balls or riding in granddads van! Speak to you all later Beks x

ChaCha · 15/07/2005 20:45

Evening all,
Few questions..when did you all get your blood test results back? I had my test done about 9 days ago now..do they post you the results or does m/w or GP give them to you on next appt?

I sometimes get what i can only call a cramp type pain in my very lower back (right down so that it's almost like the top of my bum!) I get it most when i've been lying down and try to get up...anyone have this? My friend said i should tell m/w now as it might get worse, she said she had it for a while and had to see a physician.

Being a boring fart and off to kip for a while x

sarahsausage · 15/07/2005 21:39

Hiya chacha, if anything is wrong with your bloods, you would get contacted straight away.

m/w will just tell you everything was ok at next visit and put the results in your notes.

Just having a look at all the cute baby clothes on the net, if only i knew whether my baby was pink or blue!

Off to bed soon, can't handle the late nights any more although dd will probably wake up soon, her sleeping patterns are all messed up thanks to the hot weather.

HellKat · 16/07/2005 06:18
