I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

My ds is 15mths, and agree - its weird doing it all at a similar time (he was due nov, but 3wks early so a oct baby too!) He has finally started sleeping through 7-7 since starting to walk, that is, unless he is ill/teething etc etc the list is endless!

I must just be fertile this time of year!

Mrsshuvel · 11/02/2010 18:38

Hi all

Feeling absolute poo today. Woke up at 4 this morning with MS!!!! Ended up sitting up in bed nibbling bread sticks to try and stave it off. Worked after a while but was then freezing so couldn't get back to sleep! Ms seemed to continue every 2 hours afer. Need to re-stock on bread sticks.

Why is it that you always bump into someone you haven't seen for 15 years when you look at your very worst? Took DS to playgroup this morning and bumped into a girl i went to school with. I looked like Grotbags with ill fitting maternity jeans and she looked perfectly made up with perfect hair and perfect jeans. Tried unsucessfully to avoid her for most of the morning hoping she couldn't possibly recognise me.

Blimey can't help you personally but if you start a seperate thread i'm sure someone on MN may be able to.

Welcome KSal and Ninthwave Elsa* the only excercise i am doing apart from chasing DS around is running up 2 flights of stairs to the loo. I'm drinking buckets of water too.

SeaShells I must be having another boy as i was sick as a dog last time too (for the whole PG).

Mrsshuvel · 11/02/2010 18:42

Am in slight panic mode. DS (2 1/2) just opened the front door (didn't know he could reach) as i was posting last message! Luckily it was to DH. Have just explained that he must only open the door to mummy or Daddy. DH will have to fit a chain ASAP!

NinthWave · 11/02/2010 19:56

SeaShells thankyou I know what you mean about wanting to tell random people but not family - I think it's because strangers/acquaintances don't have as much emotional investment as family members.

Feeling fairly positive as still feeling hideously sick all day/every day - also got a strange feeling of 'pressure' right where the waist of my trousers sit, I've been changing into PJs as soon as possible each evening to relieve it!

Ivytheterrible · 11/02/2010 22:02

Feeling better about the (lack of) ms after talking to my mum. She has had 3 of us: girl, boy, girl and had no ms at all with any of us. She did mc between boy and last girl and she was as sick as a dog from conception to 14 weeks (when MC'd) with that pregnancy.

Feel reassured that there is nothing 'wrong' if you don't have ms now!

KSal · 12/02/2010 09:12

Ivy just be glad you don't have it!! I hear its grim... sorry ninthwave
but seriously the only symptoms i had last preganancy were extreme tiredness for the first trimester and the odd dizzy spell and no probs at all in that pregnancy. No signs of any sickness this time either so far (touch wood).

so SeaShells we'll be in a very similar boat when the time comes then

KSal · 12/02/2010 09:14

oh and Mrsshuvel... very scary re the door - i may have to start putting the chain on ours too, DD is quite tall for her age and i haven't even thought about her opening the front door!

bloomingbex · 12/02/2010 09:18

Morning

I'm also feeling rough today. MS kicked in yesterday but for me came with the added complication of vertigo! I have an issue with my balance following a virus a few years ago and it seems MS and crappy balance aren't going to mix too well. Great!! Also strangely, although I feel sick all the time the 'product' is coming out of the other end (TMI)

Ivy I'm going to tell my Mum this weekend. I am really looking forward to it as I have loads of questions I want to ask her. I'm hoping I'll worry less if I can ask her what happened to her at each stage.

excitedfirsttimer · 12/02/2010 09:19

Hi All,
I had my first appointement with at the docs yesterday but they don't seem to do anything until 12 weeks when I will have a booking appointement and a scan, I am 7 weeks exactly today and 12 weeks seems like such a long way off. There is an early pregnancy scan unit at my local hospital and they did say that you could go there at any time if you had any unusual symptoms and they would do a scan straight away, but I don't have any symptoms only a bit of cramping and that's it so would feel a bit of a fraud going there just becasue I was paranoid!
Who else is having to wait until 12 weeks before anything happens??
I have no MS yet, am a bit tired and boobs are sore when I don't have my bra on, strangely wish i had more symptoms just to confirm it was real

Elsa123 · 12/02/2010 09:40

I know exactly what you mean! You are all a really nice bunch of people- hope we get to stick together!

Elsa123 · 12/02/2010 09:41

Mrs Shuvel- thats probably an awful lot more exercise ALL DAY than 45 mins of circuit training!!

picc · 12/02/2010 09:59

Same here, excited. I will see the midwife in a couple of weeks (will be about 9 weeks by then), but then not expecting scan til 12 or 13 weeks.

I know it seems to drag right now (I feel the same), but am trying to remember that it'll be 8 months time before we know it... and honestly it's a good thing if they feel they don't want to 'interfere' in any way before the end of the first trimester

Sorry for all of you feeling rough already. Just think of all the good stuff you're giving your beans so they can grow. They really do grow so fast right now. Sister had scans at 8 and 10 weeks, and the foetus/embryo/baby/bean (?) doubled in size in 2 weeks. By 10 weeks, it already looked like a mini human. It's just amazing....

dippingbackin · 12/02/2010 10:15

Morning All...

Off to Center Parcs this afternoon (pretty hideous but DCs love it) for the weekend. Not ideal venue with full blown nausea - luckily my Dad is coming tonight then DP joining us tomorrow morning. Means lots of overexcited males to whizz around the rapids with the children while I hopefully sit down somewhere quiet stuffing my face with carbs in order to get some respite!!!!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

excitedfirsttimer · 12/02/2010 11:18

thanks Picc I know you are right.

Did anyone see that TV programme last night about going to boarding school a 8?? Me and DH had totally different reactions. I was in tears becasue the children and their mums were so upset, and DH was more like "I went at 7 and never came home at weekends, don't know what they are complaining about" Oh dear there may be trouble ahead!!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 12/02/2010 13:51

Have fun at centreparcs dipping hope its not too cold for you

SamanthaB123 · 12/02/2010 20:34

Hello, I'm peering in...BFP on 10th February but had a mc in December at about 5 weeks so am a little worried. I feel a bit nausous from time to to time (quite early days I think - with my previous pregnancies I didn't get sickness until week 6) but am really cold all the time. Anyone else shivering in spite of layers of clothing and central heating on full wack? Everyone thinks that I'm mad! I'm also really thirsty and have sore boobs.

When are you all due? I haven't looked back over the thread, is there a list?

ConstantlyWritingThankYouCards · 12/02/2010 20:39

Welcome Samantha - there's a list a couple of pages back to add yourself to. Congratulations!

I am freezing too but putting it down to poor circulation from years of smoking. My ms has gone which is worrying though wonder if it's cause I'm constantly eating? Oh dear... another huge weight gain coming I think!!

SamanthaB123 · 12/02/2010 20:46

Hi ConstantlyWritingThankYou.. - in my past pregnancies the only way that I controlled ms was by eating. I put on a lot of weight...I was younger then and it was easier to lose. I'd quite like not to put on 4 stone this time!!!

I am a 'cold' person (my freezing feet drive DH insane!). I was worried that the shivers were to do with lowering temperature and might be a sign of mc. I think that I'm paranoid after having a mc though and just made that up. It seems really common to be shivery and cold in the first trimester. Thanks for the welcome, I tentatively terribly excited!

MrsMarc · 12/02/2010 21:10

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site and new to pregnancy - we are expecting our first on 4th October. How is everyone feeling? I've told my boss (who was thankfully great about it) as I was feeling so awful. I don't know who ever called this 'morning' sickness! It's all day! Anyone else feeling very sick but not actually been sick? I actually feel like i'd rather be sick because then I might actually feel better after! Does anyone have any tips on easing the sickness? I'm combining sea-bands, lots of sherbert lemons and a wonderful ginger and lemongrass cordial (by Bottlegreen) a friend told me about. I'd love to hear how you guys are all doing!

Thanks x

MrsMarc · 12/02/2010 21:17

Hi excitedfirsttimer,
I had similar pains and freaked out so i went to my local early pregnancy unit ad got checked out. They were really nice and didn't amke me feel bad for wasting their time or anything, so if you are concerned, then go. I think I was stressing more than I should have though, the pains went away 2 days after my scan, so i guess worrying doesn't help. Anyway, I hope you are doing well and that all is progressing is nicely for you
x

ConstantlyWritingThankYouCards · 12/02/2010 21:37

Hi Samantha - imagine it's hard not to be paranoid after mc. Though am thinking positive thoughts for you and putting coldness down to the particularly bad cold snap at the mo.

Hi MrsMarc! Welcome and congrats! I haven't told my boss yet though I am wondering if I should. Things have been rotten at work recently - effectively removed from the board with no rhyme or reason. Toxic place... If they knew about the pregnancy they might stop being so aggressive as they'll know I'm leaving. But then hate the thought of them knowing if anything does go wrong. Hmmm... Roll on July when I can leave.

Hope you're all looking forward to lovely weekends.

ConstantlyWritingThankYouCards · 12/02/2010 21:38

Oh and don't forget to add yourself to the list MrsM!

MrsMarc · 12/02/2010 21:50

Hi ConstantlyWritingThankYou,
Yes it must be tricky if you do not have a supportive workplace. To be honest I probably would not have told my boss if I thought she would be funny about it. But in your situation, if you do tell them, they will hopefully stop being so agressive. They would be in very dodgy waters if they treat you badly if they know your are pregnant so, yeah i'd prob do that in your situation. Let me know what you decide to do! It's such a tricky time isn't it... I never wish away time but I can't wait to get to 12 weeks, not only to hopefully let the sickness pass but also so i can tell everyone why ive been so antisocial for the past few weeks!

Oh, and how do I add my name? Sorryif im being thick! Thanks x

Vikks · 13/02/2010 10:22

Good morning hope you?re all well (especially those of you with MS)!

Still no MS for me, just tired all day and broken sleep all night. Plus my bladder is working on overdrive, I didn?t know I?d drank that much!

I just found out yesterday that someone else in our company is PG and she?s due one day before me! She seems to have told a lot of people already and I?m at a loss as to whether I should confide in her. She?s very young and is a bit freaked out about it all, I can?t help wondering whether she?d appreciate some support. DH is worried that she might tell others in the company about me before we are ready?.decisions!

Samantha Welcome and good luck. I?ve had the shivers for a few days; I thought I was coming down with something. I guess it?s all such a change; our bodies can react in many different ways. I?m still taking my BBT and it?s not dropping in spite of me feeling cold so I?m trying to keep positive.

MrsMarc Welcome to the thread. Copy and paste the list into the text box and add yourself in EDD order.
Hope the MS all day sickness is bearable.
