Due October 2010 - anyone else??

loueytbg · 21/01/2010 13:26

I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

delilah and excitedfirsttimer I was so, so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you.
xx

And to all the poorly sick people, I hope you feel better soon! I had such a rough day yesterday, hoping for better today as I'm actually in the office so need to keep up the 'I'm not pregnant' facade!!

Good luck with your day Nymphadora

xx

NinthWave · 24/02/2010 10:41

Delilahbelle and excitedfirsttimer, I really feel for you both - I'm so sorry. I know how horrible it is to have bad news - I've had 3 MCs in the past. I also have a happy healthy 2yo DS though, so there is hope XXX

I finally told my mum about the baby last night - she is thrilled Going to hold off telling anyone else until after the next scan though, as I am still very nervous. Roll on 12 weeks...

loueytbg · 24/02/2010 10:49

Morning. Really sorry to read about the news from delilah and excitedfirsttimer - hope you are both doing ok under the circumstances and you are back on one of these threads soon.

mummywilliams I have a doppler from first time round but its up in the loft [note to self to get it down soon...] so I can't remember which make it is. The decent ones are not cheap though - think I paid about £100 for it 3 years ago. It did give me piece of mind in the weeks until the babies started kicking.

All of you really suffering with ms - I feel for you. I am feeling grim enough but I'm not being sick constantly. I think if you are really struggling, it is worth going to see the Dr. My ms has got a little better and I remember from last time that it peaked at 8 weeks and then got a bit more bearable after that. It went completely at around 12 weeks but then there were a few blips later on when it came back. I always put them down to growth spurts.

Nymph have no idea about veet - google it perhaps?? I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use it though.

I had a private scan on Monday which showed a blob (now called Nemo) with a heart beat. Very happy ! My due date has come forward a day so I'm 8+5 today. QA - ours cost £120 (although in central london) and I had an abdominal ultrasound. I wanted to leave it until at least 8 weeks to be sure of seeing heartbeat.

Booking in appointment with the midwife is now arranged for 9th March. The system has changed since last time, they didn't do a nuchal scan on the NHS then so we went private. This time I will get one for free and they organise it at the booking in appointment.

I was thinking along the lines of hair dye being discouraged?

No more sickness but spent the am in bed playing farmville need to rest prior to the invasion of small girls!

Elsa123 · 24/02/2010 11:21

Hello all- So sorry to hear your news delilahbelle and excitedfirsttimer x x

The oatbran combo didn't work, worst wind ever.

Sorry if this is TMI- got some pinkish jelly like discharge yesterday which is now very light browny beige- very very worried its the same as last time and sign of mmc. Just bloody wish I had more obvious symptoms! Going to hold out until next week, see midwife and see if I can get a scan- hopefully it won't get worse.

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 12:55

Just spoke to midwife and she said I don't get the form until I am 12 weeks ( in my case 13 next time I see her) is everyone getting told that? Am feeling very hard done by oh and I'm crying again oh and I got cut offtalking to her and she hasn't phone back yet 15 mins ago

DillyDora · 24/02/2010 13:28

Hi Nymphadora Sorry about the form/mw palaver. I hope you feel better in a bit (are you hungry? stating the blummen obvious but it can make you feel so rubbish).

Just saying - thinking of you!
x

jennimoo · 24/02/2010 13:30

Nymph - if the form is for prescription exemption I got mine at first gp appointment at 5 weeks, and it came through post within a week.

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 13:37

Just started a thread to compare stuff like that can't link to it from my phone but it's in pregnancy.

Not hungry I don't think. Not eaten much for weeks just not hungry or can't eat a full portion of anything gutted last night when I was stuffed afte 1/3 portion of chips

can't think very straight today tried to do the midwife forms and couldn't remember dh birthday also wandered vaguely round the co op looking for tea for dds friends and came out with a box of choc fingers -which I can't eat cos they taste wrong

sorry just ignore me & I'll sit in the corner hugging the radiator & crying!

KSal · 24/02/2010 13:39

Nymphadora - i also have my form already...
feeling v nauseous almost all day and am sper tired, but sounds like i asm getting off lightly compared with some of you!

am also wishing i could get some more confirmation before my scan at 12 weeks....

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 13:45

Starting to sound like it is just here , I have at least three to get before I get the certificate too and that's as long as I don't get ill. I let my pre paymnet cert lapse when I found out I was pg.

KSal · 24/02/2010 13:47

sper = super

tinywelsh · 24/02/2010 14:27

delilahbelle and excitedfirsttimer sorry for you guys, I really hope you feel better soon x.

I also want to join the growing list of those due in Oct, my EDD is 14/10/10, went to my first midwife appointment on monday, got a huge book to read!

So excited!.

tiredfeet · 24/02/2010 14:36

nymphadora I went to see doctor when I was 4+3 and he filled in the form for me there and then, had the certificate within a week. I don't see why your area should do differently, it seems really unfair. I have needed one prescription already (for rehydration sachets -yuk!) and I may well need more if the sickness gets worse . Do you reckon you could try a GP instead or ask your midwife why in other areas people are getting the forms?

welcome tinywelsh and congratulations!

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 14:48

I can't get the midwife I got cut off and she didn't call back.Don't feel I can phone her back

Going for bloods tomorrow (about meds rather than pg bloods) so will be back at GP next week.
Just got my prescription and took dd2s and dhs and couldn't afford them all. £35 I only just stopped myself crying. I am so used to not paying (pre paid) that I hadn't thought of more than one thing on a piece of paper.

tiredfeet · 24/02/2010 14:57

oh what a pain nymphadora , when you are feeling poorly etc anyway this is the last thing you need to be trying to deal with. Maybe when you see the GP you could ask them, what the receptionist says and what a GP might be happy to do could be different? really sorry you're having to deal with this, that is a lot of prescriptions to pay for hopefully you will get some good advice on the other thread too, I am just so cross for you- it doesn't seem fair.

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 15:13

I won't be any good in a 'debate' atm cos I'll just cry! Will try gp next week though

loueytbg · 24/02/2010 15:35

Nymph - I'm sorry you are having such a rough day. I also got my form stamped when I went to see the GP at 6wks-ish. Your midwife is talking bollocks. My appetite is also a bit off now, but I find little and often really helps with ms. I struggle to eat half of my evening meal (which is so not like me, normally I'm a pig...)

On your veet question - looks as though it is fine to use it in pregnancy see
here

tiredfeet are you feeling any better??

welcome to tinywelsh

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 15:51

Thanks louey got distracted from the Veet by the strop over prescriptions

Think I'm probably better being at work as I'll be more distracted!

lilmissmummy · 24/02/2010 16:23

I got my form at the doctors too she just had it in her draw. Maybe ask the doctors receptionist for one?

Bought a maternity bra today my other ones were so uncomfortable! It is really nice, got it in Mothercare (sooooo expensive) but really impressed with the choice and the woman was really helpful in chosing a size that I could grow into but would give it enough support.

Cried this morning because the dishwasher heating element went and it didnt work. OMG I am sooo pathetic at the moment! Even called dh at work and sobbed down the phone to him about it. I then attempted to empty it which made me sick and made me cry again!

So I am feeling your pain Nymphadora!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Elsa xx

shieldbug · 24/02/2010 16:41

Hello, this my first time on any discussion forum, but thought it would be good to share experiences with other Mums-to-be. I am 6 weeks pregnant and have virtually no symptoms except temperature swings and bad indigestion! This is my first pregnancy.
Ok, here goes my first stupid question- how do you calculate your due date if you haven't been given one yet?
Secondly, I already look like I'm 3 months pregnant, because I have 1 enormous fibroid and several smaller ones. Does anybody else have this problem? I'm trying not to worry about it too much right now, but I know it may lead to complications later.

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 16:50

Use the MN calculator ---> somewhere . It works off the first day of your last period

shieldbug · 24/02/2010 16:52

Thanks Nymphadora, found it and got a due date of October the 16th.

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 16:53

Oh & welcome to MN
