I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

Congratulations Martini We were 1st month of trying too and it comes as a bit of a welcome shock to find you are pregnant.

Tiredfeet, hope you get some respite from the sickness soon.

I have a quick question, how soon can they do a scan without needing to an internal one? I am thinking of looking in to a private early scan.

I am worrying about the lack of symptoms, the needing to wee frequently stopped a few days ago and I don't know if i am more tired from just thinking about it so much. I did a normal test last night and wasn't as dark as I would have thought, I am holding off on the digital until the weekend to give it a good chance to increase conception weeks.

I am 5 weeks today and really don't want to spend the next 7 weeks wondering, would the doctors do the blood tests that I have seen mentioned to check if levels are rising?

Don't remember being this paranoid last time

tiredfeet · 23/02/2010 16:05

delilahbelle and excitedfirsttimer, I am so sorry to hear this, take care xx

lilmissmummy · 23/02/2010 16:07

Oh I forgot to mention went to the doctor today (finally built up the courage) and I got my midwifes pack and a book!!!!! v. excited about the book... never got one of those before!!!! Anyway the doctor wants to do a scan at 10 weeks to make sure everything is okay as she said there is no point doing one earlier than that so just waiting to hear from the midwife now and got LOADS of forms to fill in.

I know what you mean about the crying and the grumpyness! I got so angry yesterday that dh kept flicking between the channels during the adverts. Then when he stopped doing it I cried because I thought I had upset him He was very confused!!!

Anyone got any cravings yet?? I really fancy KFC but I think that is because I am greedy rather than pregnant! mmm biscuits! (lilmiss disappears into the kitchen to find biscuits)

lilmissmummy · 23/02/2010 16:08

questions answered I think the earliest they can do an ultrasound rather than the dildocam is 8 weeks. I am considering a private scan too!

MummyWilliams · 23/02/2010 16:40

delilahbelle and excitedfirsttimer I am so sorry to hear your sad news. It is heart wrenching. But i echo what lilmismummy says, in that it does get better, never goes away, but does get better. I hope you are being given plenty of comfort from loved ones in RL.

On the topic of ultrasound scans, I had a normal abdominal ultrasound, I was 7+1. I thought I was a little earlier than that, which the sonographer knew. I had a very early scan when I fell pregnant with my first child and I was 6 weeks then and that was 9 years ago. Just make sure your bladder is very full.

I'm 8 weeks today , but still very, very nervous.

I fell over in the snow yesterday, luckily landed on my hip and bottom lol!!!

I am stuffing my face everyday, toast, crisps, biscuits, pizza, chips and salad seem to be the things I really want to eat. But DP makes me eat some 'normal' food too. It's great coz he does all the cooking. I can't stand being in the kitchen at the moment, it makes me want to gag.

I have given in and bought two pairs of maternity jeans. They are so comfy, and were an absolute bargain from Peacocks. They are the type that you can roll up and turn into 3/4 lengths. I'm a size 12, but had to buy a 10 . The size 12 just hung off me and looked ridiculous. Even if these just see me through a few months, I'll be happy, coz I can use them again after the birth, when tummy takes a while to go back down IYKWIM.

Take care everyone xxx

MummyWilliams · 23/02/2010 16:42

Sorry me again...

Because of what happened to me with the MMC, I am thinking of getting myself a doppler. Has anybody any experience of which is the best to buy etc etc?

xxx

Sarahlou8 · 23/02/2010 16:50

delilah and excitedfirsttimer I'm so sorry for both of you. Although it probably doesn't feel like it now, you will feel better with time.
Take care of yourselves x x

Sarahlou8 · 23/02/2010 16:56

Questionsanswered I have been posting saying I am worried by my lack of symptoms too - very different from last time.

HOWEVER!!! I am 5+3 today, went to bed last night feeling 'icky' and today I have been feeling queasy since about 11am (I'm always ok first thing in the morning)
I did my 5th and FINAL test this morning and the line came up instantly and was darker than the control line so I'm much much happier today.

YAYY!! Wierd to feel pleased about it, but I am.

QuestionsAnswered · 23/02/2010 17:24

Thanks lilmiss and mummywilliams, have just looked it up and a private scan nearby is £100.

Sorry mummywilliams, don't know about dopplers, I had one of those listening devices for later in pregnanacy last time, although we didn't use it much, it was fun to lay down and listen to the baby move.

Sarahlou, what a difference a few day makes, you are 3 days further on from me, so that gives me hope too. Glad you have got some sign and hopefully it has reassured you.

TBh, I know I am making a mountain out of a molehill (hormones maybe?!!) and..just.. need..to..get..a..grip

Nymphadora · 23/02/2010 17:36

QA- I was thinking about a private scan but its not a good time moneywise as it will be just before our big holiday. But otherwise my dating scan will be 13 weeks

Nymphadora · 23/02/2010 17:47

i am also going through midwifes pack& no perscription form so am going to have to pay for one as am desparate

Meanbeansmum · 23/02/2010 17:47

delilahbelle and excitedfirsttimer - im so sorry hear your news. I know it hurtys like hell, give yourselves time to grieve and recover.xx Thinking of you.xxx

My appointment went fine, have loads of forms to fill in, the mw will be coming to see me in the next 2 weeks to complete forms etc and book me for a 12 week scan. I just hope baby bean is still ok and beating and growing in there. x

Love to all suffering, I know it's horrible. I'm freezing too. And being cold makes me feel sicker!

jennimoo · 23/02/2010 18:12

Nymphodora - keep your receipt if you do, you might be able to reclaim. I did this when a student and was able to once I had the 'low income' exemption but that was a while ago!

Nymphadora · 23/02/2010 19:20

delilahbelle and excitedfirsttimer so sorry to read your news. Allow yourself time to grieve before ttc again. I rushed into it last year and the first month I went from beating myself up for not SWI enough to crying about the baby. I was only 4-5 weeks so this is so much worse for you . Un MNetty ((((hugs))))

Vikks · 23/02/2010 19:33

delilahbelle & excitedfirsttimer - Thinking of you at this time. Take care of yourselves X X

pookey · 23/02/2010 19:34

So sorry excited and delilahbelle

Tiredfeet your nausea sounds horrendous hope you feel better soon.

tiredfeet · 23/02/2010 19:46

thanks pookey it is truly grim, I hope it improves soon too, I am sick of looking into a toilet bowl. and bored and lonely really. just trying to focus on hopefully getting a baby at the end

tiredfeet · 23/02/2010 19:47

sorry, that was a bit of a grumpy post!

pookey · 23/02/2010 20:02

Oh tiredfeet sorry Wont make you feel better when staring in the toilet bowl but have read there is a theory that vomitting stimulates the placenta and statistically it does make it more likely that you will get a baby at the end.Have just vague nausea and even that makes me irritable and incapable of doing much so it must be really exhausting for you x

tiredfeet · 23/02/2010 20:59

yes the fact that it seems to slightly improve my chances statistically is pretty much the only thing cheering me (and dh) up at the minute! that and watching lots of very cheesy films

pookey · 23/02/2010 22:18

Feel good movies all the way I cant watch anything sad at mo will burst into tears. The intro for one born evey minute makes me well up. My goodness I felt so sorry for that woman on the programme tonight her husband was being so mean when the labour was slow. Was such a relief when their baby cried.

tiredfeet · 23/02/2010 23:34

yes I sobbed a lot during one born every minute, that man was horrible to his wife in labour. on the other hand I loved seeing Lisa finally get to hold her baby

SamanthaB123 · 24/02/2010 04:45

This is a nightmare. Had to get up to go to the loo an hour ago but cannot get back to sleep. I feel sick, but I'm starving hungry...baked beans on toast please! My alarm will go off in an hour . It'll be a long day.

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 07:17

Anyone know if I can use Veet? Can't face waxing with all the wind around

Nymphadora · 24/02/2010 08:23

Dreamingof being sick should have been a sign shouldn't it just demolished dd1 trying to get to the bathroom . She promptly ran in the opposite direction as she doesn't do sick !

Going to be a long day with builders and visiting children and dh on a course & back late!
