Due October 2010 - anyone else??

I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

pookey and questionsanswered I have also been a bit quiet and withdrawn at times, ever since I found out I was pregnant. feel better that its not just me!

agree re the alcohol. Its so annoying that some people automatically make assumptions if you're not drinking. It made it hard for me during ttc as I didn't want to drink much but equally as we were having problems conceiving I didn't want people 'guessing' (wrongly) that I was pregnant. Have found that schloer in a wine glass/ lemonade in a gin glass etc can fool people, sometimes though. That said, I guess if people think you might be at that point then they're looking for clues anyway. Elsa I am so sorry your colleagues are giving you such a tough time over it, its so insensitive of them to keep digging.

delilahbelle · 21/02/2010 19:46

Hi all

Looking for a bit of sympathy I'm afraid. I've had a bit of brown spotting, and am thinking the worse Nothing I can do, I have taken to my bed, and DH has attempted to cheer me up by booking a short break in Paris in April.

No cramps, no red bleeding, so I've just got to try and relax - easier said than done.

Norfolkbumpkin · 21/02/2010 19:59

Oh Delilah, that's worrying news Sending you positive vibes and hoping that everything works out o.k. for you.

Maclaren · 21/02/2010 20:04

ohh I used the mumsnet due date calculator. I was induced the last two times so I doubt I will have he/she on datge anyway lol!

QuestionsAnswered · 21/02/2010 20:06

`Sorry you are having such a worrying time delilah.

You know that it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad, but like you, I would be worrying too. If it is any help, my friend had spotting on and off throughout early pregnancy and was fine.

Will keep everything crossed for you.

Vikks · 21/02/2010 20:09

Delilah - Thinking of you...x

pookey · 21/02/2010 20:21

Delilahbelle i just looked online and it seems that brown spotting can happen in a healthy pregnancy but if you are still anxious you can ring your hospital tomorrow morning and ask to be put through to epu - early pregnancy unit- they can advise or do a scan, I went in my first pregnancy over very minor bleed and they were fine about it. The nurse told me that some women become a familiar face at the epu but that they would rather that than the woman who doesnt attend any of her hospital appointments. x

Sarahlou8 · 21/02/2010 21:01

Hi all,

Painting all done! I'm really pleased with it. Our house is actually on the market at the moment, but the hallway was in dire need and getting to the point of embarrassment showing people round - first impressions...

To be honest I didn't give the paint a second thought, I just assumed all paint is low velocity/odour nowadays.

I still feel absolutely no different, no sickness, no boob ache and I am not even remotely tired, I don't know whether to be worried or not, it's completely different to last time.

delilahbelle hi, just wanted to let you know I spotted with my last pg at 6, 7 and 9 weeks and the resulting scan showed baby was fine at that point, so try not to fear the worst. I've also had quite a heavy implantation bleed with this pg which scared me a lot - I'm not sure without going back a page how far on you are, could it be this? Keeping fingers crossed for you xx

delilahbelle · 21/02/2010 21:08

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. I'm 4+3 today, very very early, if I hadn't tested I would probably have assumed this was the start of AF. So too early to scan for at least another couple of weeks, but maybe I could get them to test beta HCG for me. Just wish I could fastforward the next couple of weeks and know one way or the other what happens.

tattycoram · 21/02/2010 21:23

Delilah, I had some spotting at that point - I assumed it was the beginnings of AF as hadn't done a pg test yet. I think it is probably quite normal. Fingers crossed and try not to worry too much xx

Sarahlou8 · 21/02/2010 22:33

delilahbelle my implantation bleed was 2 days before AF was due, but it's still possible now, especially if you have a longer cycle anyway.
I am still using ebay cheapies (fertility plan) to test every 2 or 3 days as the line gets progressively darker, it's reassuring me a little being as I have no other symptoms, they cost £2.50 for 10.

I really hope that it has stopped by the morning for you. Your'e right about fast forwarding these early weeks, it's a worrying time. Does ebay sell crystal balls??

Best of luck x x

Ivytheterrible · 21/02/2010 22:39

Hi all...so much to catch up on!
Welcome everyone who's joined over the weekend.

Delilah don't panic I've read on lots of threads that spotting can be quite common and it doesn't always mean the worst so stay positive x

Have been a bit tired this weekend - slept for 11 hours Fri night and still had 2 naps during the day for an hour each time!

Does anyone else do alot of sport normally? - 10+ hours of hard cardio? I'm normally really high energy but finding it hard to keep going at the moment. Have also been competing in my sport over the weekend which went well all things considered. I really don't want my regime to slip this early and lose fitness/gain weight!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 22/02/2010 05:57

Hi All.Delilah I had brown spotting at 6 weeks with DS1 and 7 weeks with DS3. All fine. Apparently a third of healthy pgs have unexplained spotting at some point.

Re exercise, I play tennis (badly) two or three times a week and am looking for excuses to get out of it without seeming too obvious - mainly cos I'm exhausted.

I'm drinking up to 3 cups of normal tea a day although will bring some decaf bags back from the UK. No coffee. Maybe a hot chocolate if I'm out for coffee with friends - doesn't arouse suspicion at all.

Am a bit worried about flying tomorrow but acupuncturist said the benfits of getting off the island and having some me-time will far outweigh any negative effects from flying. We'll see. As long as I think of spending all day in John Lewis, I'm happy.

NinthWave · 22/02/2010 10:14

Delilahbelle - as others have said, spotting is very common in early PG but the sooner you see your GP, the sooner they can refer you to the EPU for a scan. Fingers crossed all is fine for you!

Good news from me - been to the EPU this morning for an early scan. A bit nerve wracking as I have a tilted uterus so she had to use the DildoCam, i.e. do a transvaginal scan...not very dignified, but it showed a healthy 6w5d foetus with a good heartbeat, so I am very very happy and SO relieved

Due date is now 13/10/10 and they'll scan me again at about 12 weeks, but if I have any problems I can ring them direct and be seen quickly. A weight off my mind...might even add myself to the list...!

dontstopmenow · 22/02/2010 10:50

Good morning all.
I am so glad (sorry) that others are having the poorly tummy due to trapped wind thing. I have been so full up of air for the best part of a week now. It sounds like this is fairly normal if others have it too. Phew!
The ms is a pain too. Ginger biscuts are the best!
Have a good day everyone!

Elsa123 · 22/02/2010 10:57

I've just looked this up- yup, 4 cups of tea a day (I'm going for a mug not cup)- mint tea- whatever type of mint (although I believe catmint is pretty vile) is fine too. It says all brands of supermarket herbal teas are generally fine just don't drink anything with ingredients you don't recognise- pretty sensible advice for anyone I'd think!

Maclaren · 22/02/2010 12:07

NinthWave good news I had that with DS2 was not expecting it was a bit of a shock lol!

NinthWave · 22/02/2010 12:21

Maclaren the woman doing the scan was so apologetic, saying how it was OK to be nervous as it's not very dignified...I almost said "hey this is nothing, there were at least 10 people down there when DS was born" but thought better of it

tiredfeet · 22/02/2010 12:45

ugh. Morning sickness is back with a vengeance , initially I was relieved as was worried when it faded. But now its really bad and making me miserable.

delilah hope things going ok for you today?

ninthwave that's good news about the scan! it must be such a relief. I wish I got an early scan, it seems such a long way to 12 weeks still...

delilahbelle · 22/02/2010 12:54

ninthwave Excellent news, congratulations. I guess that's the thing with pregnancy, all your dignity goes out the window, you might as well get used to it early.

tiredfeet sorry to hear you are feeling rough, can I suggest ginger biscuits Seriously, I hope you start to feel just a little bit better soon.

dontstopmenow I have had wind sonething awful this past week... had thought it was my rubbish diet, but pegnancy it is

Hi to everyone else.

AFM - it's not looking good. I'm bleeding slightly more heavily and have crampy pains in my back. Have been to the doctor, and he said it's too early to do anything at all, and to just take it as easy as I can. I have to retest in a week or so, and just play a waiting game until then.

IlooklikeGrotbagstoday · 22/02/2010 14:41

Have just made an appointment for the drs this aftrenoon. I can't keep anything down and have lost 6lbs this week. Am slightly concerned that the baby isn't getting any nourishment. I had bad MS with DS but nothing like this!

Glad everything's ok ninthwave and have everything crossed for you delilahbelle

Elsa123 · 22/02/2010 15:21

delilahbelle- its a horrible wait isn't it? Good luck. xxx

Nymphadora · 22/02/2010 15:25

grotbags afaik the baby will take first zap at the nutrients so they are probably better off than you ATM. Hope the dr can help

I just had to stop twice on the way home from workas I was falling asleep. First time I had a meal at the services second I pulled off the main road and slept for 10 mins. Got in the house & cried cos dh hadnt done the dust sheets for the builder later am so exhausted atm just have an appt later to get through then off for the rest of the week.

Lulabell · 22/02/2010 16:26

Hi everyone, wow, I went away for a week and the thread exploded. I've just finished catching up.

Congratulations to everyone who has joined the thread this week!

delilahbelle, so sorry to hear that you're going through that. Fingers crossed for you.

I've still not had bad ms, but I feel sick all of the time, even the middle of the night, I find I just wish I'd actually be sick and get it over with. And I've been eating loads as I seem to be starving hungry every couple of hours, which I'm sure I'm imagining, but I'm putting on loads of weight, so between that and the rapidly expanding chest I cant get into my clothes anymore. I thought this wasn't meant to happen yet?? Has anyone else had this already?

I've also got gas/trapped wind, it's so embarrassing, you all have my sympathy! I'm also planning to up the roughage.

And I'm now torn between trying to decide whether it's more annoying to be thirsty or to have to go to the toilet every 10 mins. I think it'll be the toilet more often, I've never needed to drink so much!

Hope everyone's having a good day today

Maclaren · 22/02/2010 16:36

delilahbelle hope all turns out ok x

I am completely off food because I feel so sick but not actually sick I also have such a back ache have just done two hours ironing wish I hadnt lol!
