Due October 2010 - anyone else??

loueytbg · 21/01/2010 13:26

I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

Oh dear...I should not watch 'one born every minute'. Sky+'ed and have just seen it. Spent the last hour weeping quietly to myself. My hormones are all over the place. At the moment, I well up when I hear the few couple of drum beats of the theme tune to Eastenders. . How embarrasing is that?

Meanbeansmum · 19/02/2010 19:49

2 threads??? I only have this one on my watching list lol. I should venture out more lol. We should all be on one thread. Maybe a new thread that we can all get linked to?

SamanthaB123 · 19/02/2010 19:56

Hello,

I'm having my hair highlighted tomorrow, it is safe isn't it? Suddenly thought it might not be for some reason.

ConstantlyWritingThankYouCards · 19/02/2010 22:26

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend. I am a bit worried here as have some low pelvic pain and tenderness. Didn;t have this with last pregnancy. Anyone else had this or should I be worried? Feeling very emotional but could be that I've been up night after night with poorly DS so just tired.

Sam123 - not sure on the highlighting front as have brown hair. I'll have a look on the internet and see.

x

ConstantlyWritingThankYouCards · 19/02/2010 22:28

From what I can understand highlighting is the least risky as the dye doesn't touch your scalp Sam 123. Though a few sites do say to wait until after 12 weeks.

BUnderTheBonnet · 19/02/2010 23:48

constantly I've got this too, and never had it with dd. My midwife says it's normal to feel much "heavier" down there, and kind of stretchy cramps etc with a 2nd that you don't have with a 1st.

What a badly constructed sentence.

Pleurgh.

NinthWave · 20/02/2010 07:44

7:30 in the morning and I am now desperate for some lime & chili Doritos

I had a MW appointment yesterday, which was, er, fun...no childcare, so had to take my 2.5yo DS with me. He decided to do the world's stinkiest poo JUST as the MW called me in - I had to scrabble around to get him changed, and he would't put his trousers/shoes back on so I ended up dragging a half naked toddler down the corridor to the MW's room! Luckily the heavily pg lady who was after me was v understanding...whilst probably thinking "oh god what have I done"

Anyway the MW was great - made me an app for an early scan on Monday (2 days away, eek) due to my 3 previous MCs. I'll be about 6.5 weeks by then so am desperately crossing everything that it's good news...I'm so nervous already.

Also still suffering from horrible all-day sickness - fresh bread and tiny sips of Coke (I know) are the only things that seem to help. Would rather have symptoms than not though!

Nymphadora · 20/02/2010 08:07

constantly my stomach is very tender too, I havehad a lot of trapped wind which seems to account for some of it though

delilahbelle · 20/02/2010 09:02

Morning all, hope you are enjoying your Saturday. DH is at work so I am home alone with the sofa, laptop and mumsnet

NinthWave - good luck for your scan on Monday, I'll keep everything crossed you get a nice healthy heartbeat.

I finally have a first hint of sickness this morning, really didn't want my breakfast, but forced it down and now feel better. Ginger beer seems nice to sip though.

QuestionsAnswered · 20/02/2010 09:32

Hello to everyone

It is lovely to have this thread, we haven't told anyone yet, so it is great to have somewhere I can actually talk about it.

Ninthwave, sounds like a fun appointment. Second time around is going to be very different!

Those of you with a child already, what have you decided to tell your Dc? I have decided to keep quiet until after the 12 week scan.

Samantha, I love one born every minute, not sure it is a good idea to watch it though

LadyThompson and Pookey, I have lost quite a lot of weight recently and also want to try and minimise weight gain, should be ok as still overweight, though I know if MS kicks in like last time, all I will want to eat is white bread toast and butter

Hope you all have a good, restful weekend.

Nymphadora · 20/02/2010 09:43

I want to tell my dds before we tell the everyone. Probably once I have had dating scan

kawaiiko · 20/02/2010 09:53

Hello, can I join? Nice to see a few familiar faces from the ttc threads!

Is there a list of everyone and their edd on this thread? My edd is 30/10/10 - maybe I should be on November?!

No symptoms here yet, but given this is only wk 4 that's not too surprising...ooh, except the obscene dreams! Are they a symptom? Haven't been able to look a couple of colleagues in the eye this week!

Elsa123 · 20/02/2010 11:13

Hi Sam 123- I've been told its safe as the way highlights are done, they are a few millimetres off the scalp. I plan on having mine done this week. I'm mean to be online looking at cars..

I was out in London Thursday Friday and got an unbelievable amount of stick from the people I was with who are colleagues that I don't know that well that I wasn't drinking. I said that I don't drink as got all the barrage of questions about why not, what made me stop drinking, was I an alcoholic etc etc also apparently non-drinkers can't be trusted you know.... I also got a little antsy as I desperately needed to eat having already had a blood sugar crash and demanding biscuits before I fainted, but everyone just wanted to stand in a smelly pub in Covent Garden drinking and 'powering through'. Turns out they were gossiping about me being pregnant the previous days because of the amount of times I was going to the loo. Although apparently according to the one person who was pleasant to me, everyone thinks I have ms as most don't realise a symptom of pregnancy is needing a wee every few minutes.

Its the thirst that bugs me, I swear I wouldn't need to go so much but I have to neck so much water! I also totally involuntarily burped loudly a few times at work this week, rather embarrassing.

Welcome kawaiiko- congratulations- may as well join us, it could be early or late! Yes! I too am getting obscene dreams- they start off ok, then get quite bad. Fortunately they've only involved my DH so far!!

Samantha, I too have had tears in my eyes over one born every minute although the 20 year old girl did make me laugh as well and her boyfriend looked so shell shocked! It does make me wonder if epidurals can result in a c section due to no progress, the baby's heart slowing etc. Or was it because she also had a pretty kicking painkiller beforehand or if it would have happened anyway? Not sure she would have been good at coping with more pain though, it seemed quite bad for her.

Right..I WILL look at cars.....in a bit, hope you're all feeling well this morning x x

Nymphadora · 20/02/2010 13:51

Hi Kawiiko nice to have someone else move over!

Stomach been really achy , been for a bath and it stopped but started again now can't wait for midwife appt so she can tell me it's all normal!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 20/02/2010 14:12

Hi Kawaiiko, I'm due 30/10/10 too and am sticking to this bus for now but when someone sets up November, might pop in for a wee chat and a nice cup of tea.

BUnderTheBonnet · 20/02/2010 14:49

Hi kawaiiko and ILGH! Nice to see you.

Hi Nymph.

Maclaren, me confused. How come you due before me? Is my due date calendar wrong? I get due on 30 October with and ov date of 6 Feb? Not that it matters cos these babies'll come when they please eh?

ANyway, will be brave and add to the list when I get my beta hcg tomorrow and it's quadrupled to 320, I hope.

pookey · 20/02/2010 18:00

Elsa and others I am mega thirsty too. With regards to your work colleagues it really sucks that people who socialise without drinking are seen as deeply suspicious. Covert measures been suggested on here such as drinking a soft drink and disguising it as a bevvie - virgin cocktails would be perfect for such subterfuge grin]

Welcome Maclaren, Kawiiko

Constantly I am having twinges and cramps aswell.

How are people doing with cutting back on caffine?

Questions answered I weighed myself today and my plans to not gain weight during first trimester have already been scuppered by serious white carb cravings and I now look 4 months rather than 4 weeks. Must try harder to nourish my baby with every bite (or whatever it is they say in what to expect) next week

My next confession is that yesterday I went to primark and bought lots of babydoll dresses and leggings to wear once the cat is out of the bag. Not actual maternity wear in my defence but still I do look very pregnant when I wear them already... maybe I should have looked for things that would disguise rather than enhance my tummy?

delilahbelle · 20/02/2010 18:52

Hi all -

pookey I have switched from regular test to mint tea (helps with heartburn too), don't drink coffee/cola anyway, and have quit chocolate for lent. So no caffeine for me for the next few months - though I expect the chocolate thing will change.

kawaiiko I've got a late due date too, so may well pop over for a chat on the November thread

I'm having really bad heartburn and started to feel a bit sicky. DH bought takeaway pizza for tea (yum) but now the thought/smell of it is making me feel sick. AND he keeps drinking beer in front of me, grr...

Nymphadora · 20/02/2010 19:07

I read that you have to have under 200 mg of caffine a day and when I worked it out I was having lessthan that anyway. Now I don't like chocolate ( which is where I may be outed) I am only on about 40 mg a day

I don't drink so I can manage that one too!

I am also having a lot of 'tums' to deflate me

RosieBeagle · 20/02/2010 19:33

Hello all

Can I join please? Following IVF I got BFP nearly 2 weeks ago and according to online IVF due date calendars should be due 19 October. Having an early scan on the 3rd March and until then I won't beleive this has finally happened! (TTC #1 3+years).

Had early cramping but other than that no real symptoms except having to get up in the night to pee and have bloated tum but think thats due to progesterone pessaries.

Never thought I would say this but am actually wishing for MS so that I would know that my body was reacting somehow?!

I suppose still too early for symptoms so have been checking through previous posts and looks like Im not on my own. It is reassuring to know others are feeling the same!

Tatty I think you were on the same thread as me previously

tattycoram · 20/02/2010 19:55

Hallo Rosie, we've got the same due date! I think I missed your BFP announcment, I'm so thrilled for you. Brilliant to have an early scan so you can be reassured.

My GP said that our PCT does the dating first scan at between 12 and 15 weeks now rather than between 11 and 13. Sooooo long to wait.

I've been getting lots of cramping too and am very very tired

I've changed my place in the roll call so that it is in the right place according to due dates

Congratulations and welcome Rosie!
I have a due date of 17th Oct, and just like you I am desperate for some more symptoms, as feel that although the symptoms may be unpleasant they would be extremely reassuring to me!
