Due October 2010 - anyone else??

loueytbg · 21/01/2010 13:26

I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

Charncoco fingers and toes crossed for you

LadyThompson · 19/02/2010 12:46

Sorry to those who have had less than positive reactions. I know it's disappointing but don't it sour YOUR happiness.

Amelia, I am in Oxfordshire mostly but in London at least once a week as I still have a tiny flat there. And will be having my baby in London too - St Mary's.

DillyDora · 19/02/2010 13:33

Hey All,

Just over from the 'other october thread' where people are not horrible, they just stumbled on a thread that said October 2010 Babies, started posting and ... well, that was it as far as I can see. Sorry that you have been given such a poor impression of us. It sounds just like being back at school, all this, but I'd really like to defend myself and the people I've been posting with.

I've been watching this thread but didn't want to post in 2 places until I read the really unhappy posts about the other thread today.

Seriously, we're all pregnant, fretting for various reasons (and btw charnoco good luck good luck) and could probably use our energies better to support each other than not, eh? I'm not sure why it matters if there's one thred or 90 for October as long as people can get the support they need.

So - a big hug and lots of love and a wish for a cessation of hostilities. (and if you read the messages over there for today you'll see I've said the same thing there - this whole deal has really soured Mumsnet for me)

LadyThompson · 19/02/2010 13:58

It's rather soured it for me, tbh, and I have been posting on here for over two years! All I did was point out that the other thread was on the wrong board and alert them to ours. I don't think that makes me a baddie, and I don't think it deserves the I got, and I thought it had already been sorted out. I am not saying people are horrible on the other thread AT ALL, I understand why people want to stay there if they have already made friends, but my personal opinion (only) is that it's a shame to have two different threads and pretty unusual. But I don't really care! I am just someone in the early stages of pregnancy who wants to chat about it, not Machiavelli! I wish I had kept my trap shut now, given that it's caused all this fuss!

AbFabT · 19/02/2010 14:31

Hi, Amelia10 - I am in SW London. Whereabouts are you?

As for this two-threads business, I think one thread is the best bet, really - keeps us ALL together in the one place. Maybe the mods should merge this one with the other one, as I have already suggested, OR, we start a shiny brand new thread with no mention of the nonsense, and have a fresh start!

Peace, Love and Harmony!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 19/02/2010 14:44

Hi all. Just popping in to say hi and hope that I'll be joining you a bit more often soon. Just had a BFP, both on FR and with beta hcg bloods (it was 76.8 12dpo). Am waiting til my beta comes back after the next blood draw on Sunday before I even think about strating to relax. Am on oral progesterone too. Have had 2 chem pgs and an early mc at 4+4 in the past 5 months so feeling nervous.

If all goes well, due date is 30 October so I'll post on the November board too, when it starts up (although I ain't doing it, that's tempting fate that is). Or maybe I should start one now so it's in the right place .

delilahbelle · 19/02/2010 14:55

Hi all - my goodness this thread is moving fast.

ILoveGregoryHouse - great name, me and DH are currently watching our way through season 5 on DVD. Your due date is 2 days after mine, so I may well pop over to the Nov board too.

Charncoco - am keeping things crossed for you.

I've been off on half term and am really not looking forward to going back to work on Monday. DH and me want to keep this preg quiet until 12 weeks, so I'm hoping the students at school won't guess before then. It's going to be difficult, as I am constantly running to the loo at the moment.

Amelia10 · 19/02/2010 15:38

Hello again

AbFabT and LadyT - I am in East London, Limehouse to be precise.

If all goes to plan I will be going to UCLH -reason being that I liked the look of birthing ball things, gym mats and hot tub - am I supposed to give birth on/in those???Looks more like my local gym - which I confess has never held a great attraction for me

To be honest - I am nervous as hell

x

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 19/02/2010 15:42

Hi all!! Sorry I can't respond to everyone- poorly boy and no Internet means I've stolen dh's iPhone again for a catch up! It's a pain scrolling and texting lots on it (dh feels this might help cut down the mn addiction, poor deluded man)

Newbies- welcome! Look forward to getting to know you all over the next few weeks!

Charncoco- thinking sticky thoughts and positive vibes to you and all of us on the thread

ladyt- don't worry, mn isn't mn without the odd spat and , we are all to hormonal at the moment, my poor dh wants to move out until the second trimeter starts, he'd forgotten I turn into a dragon lol. Don't let it get to you

registered with gp and this area the mw doesn't want to see you until 13 weeks grrr. I've general gp appt for a whole load of other stuff next week so will try and beg for early scan, after two mc, one which was a mmc that got pretty involved I hope he is sympathetic!

DillyDora · 19/02/2010 15:49

LadyThompson and anyone - what is it with the biscuit thing?! Why on earth does it mean no comment? (and why would we want to say that?!)

Yalla, as my friend Lina would say, all done.

AbFabT - I can see what you mean about the new thread I suppose these threads are just huge in the end and I can't remember my own name, let alone anyone else's .

Loves, and hello to London people -isn't the underground hellish in the mornings?!

AbFabT · 19/02/2010 16:07

I am new and don't get the biscuit thing either! Shove a biscuit in it? I dunno!

I am liking the idea of a new thread!

Where in London are you, DillyDora? I don't commute - ha ha - just a short walk to work in the morning. DH does though, but we are nearly at the start of the line so he gets a seat (obviously gives it up for pregnant ladies though!).

LadyThompson · 19/02/2010 16:15

Well, the biscuit thing started because when Gordon Brown was interviewed on MN last year he kept being asked what his favourite biscuit was (yeah, I know - crucial) but those questions didn't somehow filter through to him so he didn't answer, thereby making him look evasive. Anyway, it got into all the papers and was all a storm in a teacup. Personally I think it made MN look like a bunch of divs, as if the most pressing thing they wanted to ask the Leader of the Land was what his favourite biccy was - but MNHQ decided to introduce a new emoticon which has come to mean "Yeah, WHATEVER" as much as no comment. So I don't think it's been helpful on any level, really, as an emoticon, just causes more aggro on the boards! Hence my getting the hump. But it's ok, I am over it now and promise never to mention it again!

On a lighter note, I am trying not to put any weight on in the first trimester as I didn't finish losing my baby weight from last time...I was so excited about maternity wear last time. Now I dread it as I feel like I am only just out of it!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 19/02/2010 16:15

comes from a webchat with gordon brown where he avoided a question re what was his fav biscuit- there was another thread at the time discussing that your fav biscuit says about you class wise etc, media caught this and mail turned it into biscuitgate. So it means no comment, but comes across and tends to used fairly snidey- one step on from lol but it's easy online for the emotion of a post to be miss interpreted...

Must get back to poorly ds- hope he eats better today

DillyDora · 19/02/2010 16:16

Heh heh - we should have the capacity to give someone a nice biscuit/cake/pack of pringles! That would be better!

Living in Highgate, working in the City area. Planning on getting a big hat with flashing lights on it saying 'early pregnancy here - give me your seat or I'll throw up on you!'
abFabT soooooo jealous, would love to be able to walk to work!

LadyThompson · 19/02/2010 16:17

Crossposted Seashells - ha!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 19/02/2010 16:23

Damn my single finger tapping iPhone slow connection posting

I really do spend too long on here!

In my defense ds is asleep and I'm poorly and knackered too so what's a gal to doexcept mn?!

AbFabT · 19/02/2010 16:33

Mmmm, Pringles! Have you tried the new Lime and Chilli flavour? They are DIVINE!!!!!

Thanks for the biscuit explanation!

DillyDora, I believe you can get a Tube-style badge that says 'Mind The Bump'!

AbFabT · 19/02/2010 16:36

P.S., I haven't eaten any Pringles since we found out we were expecting though, as I am being an angel!!!

DillyDora · 19/02/2010 16:37

AbFabT 'Mind the Hormone Induced F*rting' would be more appropriate at the moment ;0)
It's a bit rubbish at the 'no bump but I feel dreadful' stage, isn't it?

See, I'm off pringles, I'm off most things, it's really no fun. I eat but I don't fancy anything much, the only thing i can get excited about is green vegetables. Well, that's a first. Or curry, I could murder a really good curry (and then lie awake all night letting it murder me!!!)

Anyone else got insomnia?

Amelia10 · 19/02/2010 16:48

I have no insomnia but I'm with 'DillyDora' on the hormone induced wind issues - I have no need for the tfl badge I can clear the entire carriage on the west bound Jubilee line - I get a seat though

DillyDora · 19/02/2010 16:56

Amelia10 I am laughing in very undignified snorty way!!!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 19/02/2010 16:56

Not sleeping well. Waking up at around 5 with horrendous nausea which am studiously ignoring. Maybe I should keep a packet of Pringles beside me. Mmmmmmm Pringles..

Vikks · 19/02/2010 17:05

Wow busy thread today!

Well that was a week I won?t mind forgeting?.roll on term time. I?ve been looking after children in our holiday club while trying to conquer extreme tiredness. Thank god it?s the weekend!!!! I think I?ll stay in bed until Monday.

Anyone else getting food obsessed? I just want to eat all the time!! I look fat. If I go too long without eating I?m like a woman possessed?..not pretty! No food aversion here, let me at the fridge.

So basically I?m eating and sleeping my way through week 7. I want my bump now so people can see I have an excuse.

Hope you?re all well.

tattycoram · 19/02/2010 18:23

I'm incredibly tired too Vikks I found it really hard to cope with my three year old today, the whingeing irritated me much more than it normally does.

I'm also eating like a pig horse. I ate all the M&S Percy Pigs DH bought for Ds and his friend but tbh I think I just zoned in on the sugar in an attempt to stay awake

Anyway, hte results of my latest thyroid tests were back and they were absolutely normal - wierd after two abnormalish ones.

pookey · 19/02/2010 18:34

Welcome Amelia 10 and any other newbies!

Thanks for your message tiredfeet, sorry to hear your awful boss pushed you out of your job. Hopefully your mum will become a supergrandmother but in a good way! Possibly my mum and sister also think why don't I get my life back on track and go back to work, I returned after my second child but I had no enjoyment from the job and didnot feel respected or valued in any way. In theory we have a complete set; 1 boy and 1 girl, but it feels really right to be expecting baby 3.

Agree with Picc the other thread seem to have bonded and to be honest if the thread is really humungous it is hard to keep up and can be offputting to tackle catching up.

LadyThompson I will join you in trying not to gain much in the first teimester, I lost nearly 2 stone last summer so people are probably going to think I am just whopping all the weight back on rather than pregnant.

Sorry can't finish catching up the wolves are braying for dinner to be fair it is nearly seven
