hello - we made it!

hope yr m-in-law is OK nemo
I am taking a year off for ml, the course is two years (grad conversion) so all being well I will extend and have another year off or doing a bit of barwork etc while I finish, then Legal Practice course, then training contract if lucky enough to get one, then, when I am about 90, I can go to work in a suit
Yes it does sound mad but dp is worn out, self employed, wants to stop working under such pressure and there's no way I can support the family doing what I do now

Ninah - you go for it girl. I'd love to re-train, I'm bored with what I currently do, (somthing very tedious in finance) but I'm pretty well paid and lazy.

If anyone can think of a job that will pay me lots of dosh, takes less than a year to qualify, and does not involve wearing a uniform, let me know!

Nimo - hope you MIL is recovering.

sweetheart · 11/07/2005 15:35

GO - your job sounds like mine - boring in finance but well paid!!! I've just finished 3 years of training and need a break before going onto the degree, I'm not sure I even want to do accounting!!!

I'd love to re-train as a teacher. It's something I've always wanted to do. Unfortunalty I've got used to being paid well and can't afford to half my salary!!!

Ninah - I think it's a fab idea to do something for yourself - will give you a sense of self worth when other mothers are compairing their childrens bowl movements!!!

ninah · 11/07/2005 15:36

the only thing I can think of is prostitution, but you might need a uniform ...
If I was well paid I prob would stay put too!

OP posts:
ninah · 11/07/2005 15:39

yeah that too sh, want to rediscover a brain
Alternatively, how do I get a well paid, tedious job in finance? just kidding, no maths o-level after 4 attempts!
You sell yourselves short, girls, it's not easy to get a good job!

OP posts:
ninah · 11/07/2005 15:41

always up for a good 'bowl movement' chat too!

I had no qualifications to do with finance when I started this job. Just spent the last 5 years training on the job and working my way up.

I find it helps to work for small companies - they tend to value their staff more. Plus as I work for a small company I'm not limited to finance. I also work as the office manager which means I sort of get two salaries in one.

Hi all,
I'm too hot, very grumpy & really want to eat some chocolate!! Happy days

I thoroughly recommend sales GoldenOldie. I get paid a resonable amount to chat on MN and stuff my face with choccy all day. My uniform consists of jeans and flip-flops!! Only down side is the trawl into London but if you can hack that it's a doddle

ninah · 11/07/2005 16:06

flip flops and choc - mmmm!
you are all too modest methinks

Good morning all,

Thank you for your thoughts and best wishes, fred and i are fine this morning, ds has just been taken to school so i have a day of peace till 3.00 when i will stroll up to school and get him. Bleeding is still there but not any heavier and im satrting to accept this may just be the way its going to be! Have listend to fred today and hes still jumping around. Have had a severe headache for 2 days mainly due to stress so have to try and calm down really.
Not sure what to fo about work tho (as a childminder i dont get paid if i dont work!!) so am gonna pop to docs and ask advice as to how long i should be off for! Not the best time to not be earning!! But need to put fred first.
Hope you are all well.

dramaqueen72 · 12/07/2005 09:01

morning everyone, esp you bonkerz, glad youre home and fred is well. they do put us thro it dont they? one way or another. so whats the cause of the bleeding? how very scary it must be.

MINNIE1 · 12/07/2005 09:10

bonkerz,
So happy to hear all is well with you and Fred,

bonkerz · 12/07/2005 09:10

There was no explanation for the cleed yesterday on the scan. When i was seen in A&E the doctor thought it may have been the heamatoma still but on the scan the heamatoma had gone!! The sonographer checked all around the baby and checked the placenta but there appears to be no bleeds etc at all neaar fred! Thankfully this means he/she is completely unaffected by the bleed and is growing fine and getting all he/she needs!
The ward doctor doesnt understand where the blood is coming from but isnt keen on subjecting my body to more anti biotics just yet and doesnt want to go poking around my cervix etc as there is a risk of greater infection that could affect fred. Im having swabs done on thursday so if anything shows up then it will mean more anti biotics but until then i will take comfort in knowing its not affecting fred but as you can imagine its still strange to me that i can bleed from somewhere this much and not be really poorly!!

dramaqueen72 · 12/07/2005 09:17

ninah.goldilocks... would that make you one of the three bears then

dramaqueen72 · 12/07/2005 09:18

bonkerz it baffles me too, still as long as you feel okay and fred is alright. put your feet up!

sweetheart · 12/07/2005 09:19

Bonkerz - it's great to hear that you and fred are both well.

I'm sure, like you say, this will just be the way for you. A friend of mine had constant bleeding throughout her pregnancy and she now has a beautiful little boy.

So how is everyone else this morning - do you think now Bonkerz has given us her good news it's a good omen for a new thread?!?!?!??!?!

Not to go on or anything!!!!

expatinscotland · 12/07/2005 09:21

Bonkerz
Glad to hear Fred is okay. Here's hoping the bleeding STOPS right away.

I'm so sorry - it's so scary I know. This heat doesn't help matters.

You and Fred are in our thoughts.

bonkerz · 12/07/2005 09:21

ninah · 12/07/2005 09:28
