sweetheart · 08/07/2005 08:29

morning,

I had a very wierd dream last night. I dreampt that I was breast feeding our baby but that my nipple was a long cord attached to my boob. After the baby had finished feeding it fell off and I grew a new nipple

How wierd is that!!!!!

george32 · 08/07/2005 09:06

Morning everyone.
A nice day at home for me. So glad they closed our office today. DQ, any news from Bella?

Sweetheart - strange, very strange!!
Starry, I haven't got that joy to look forward to have I? Please tell me that that isn't a common thing. I'm trying not to think about it at all, let alone dream about it.

So much shopping going on. Am I the only one waiting til after I have my 20 week scan?

dramaqueen72 · 08/07/2005 09:12

george, goodness yes you dream about the new baby often, giving birth or bring it home, or losing it as I dreamt the other night!!! mad mad dreams when pg.
we arent buying our cot or buggy til oct george, does that make you feel better? looking out for a few bit and pieces as and when i see them tho, but dh refuses to start buying in ernest til after our aug hols and school restarts (both being quite expensive times!) then its christmas gifts early and baby gear buying season as i am a shopaholic its going to be heavenly!
talking of shopping, have some money to spend on my gorgeous two yr old today, from a doting auntie. LOTS of money, with instructions to buy clothes and not to save any of it. FABULOUS!!!

no no word from Bella yet, suspect i had her work email so maybe later/or maybe not today if she decides to stay home.

scully · 08/07/2005 11:36

No George you're not the only one! I haven't bought anything and am actually quite glad I still have all of dd's things so won't have to get much. Ebay and nearly new sales for me I think! We didn't decorate a nursery last time and won't do one this time either, just neutral colours I think, as the baby's cot will be in our room for at least the first 4mths. I really enjoyed organising dd's room when she was about 6mths old and moved out of our room. But don't get me wrong, I still like looking at everything! May buy some new outfits, as the newborn ones are so cute!
Glad everyone got home safe yesterday, trains were very quiet this morning when I came in.

expatinscotland · 08/07/2005 11:50

Haven't bought a thing and other than new bedding, won't buy anything. We were told we were having a baby boy last time, so I have some newborn boy clothes. And of course, all DD's clothes from when she was newborn, so we're all set.

I don't believe in spending lots of money on baby/kid's clothes. We do buy good shoes for DD now she's walking, but her clothes are all gifts from her grandparents in the US or from NCT sales or charity shops.

I kept all the maternity clothes my mother sent me from the US as well, so I won't be buying any of those. Such as waste as this is our last child and I'd rather save for decent clothes once I get back into shape.

Baby will be sharing a room w/DD after he/she graduates from a cot in our room, as we can only afford a two-bed flat at present. This is only a two-bed place. The room is painted a neutral pale sage, so it'll work for both.

sweetheart · 08/07/2005 11:57

I feel really guilty now for buying things!!!!

We won't be buying any clothes or things like that as we have most things we need from when dd was born and you always get given loads as prezzies.

I've only been buying dresses because of the wedding and hen do's!!!

Dd was only in our room for about 2.5 months so I want the nursery to be ready.

Plus I think we might go for a 3rd baby after this so it won't go to waste!!!!

ninah · 08/07/2005 12:01

Don't feel guilty sh! you've got the all clear, celebrate. Buy the stuff you need and want and don't apologise! blimey you don't have to justify the dresses, it's good to look nice

Morning all,

Hope your all ok this morning after yesterdays horrific events. I was watching the news last night and it scared me. I can only imagine what it is like (as i am from Ireland) I hope you all got home safely last night. Its was a cruel act and my thoughts are with you all. It was a sad day for the Britian.

I'm in the "havent got a thing for buba" club, Well done to all that have. I cannt wait to start buying and getting the room ready. DP said i can have what i want as this is the first, i have a feeling he could change his mind when he start seeing the price tags!!! lol

Got my hair done yesterday, really dark!!! i like it thought. DP feels he is sleeping with another women lol...

How are you all today ??

expatinscotland · 08/07/2005 12:04

To each her own! Buy away if that's what you fancy.

But I haven't got much money and for me there are other things to buy.

MINNIE1 · 08/07/2005 12:05

sweetheart,
well done you for getting ready!! I think the bubs will be here b4 we have started..
I will be looking on you when i start you can guide me through.

sweetheart · 08/07/2005 12:07

ahhhh thanks ninah!!!

My mum rang earlier to say she has been invaded by big heavy boxes (our nursery furniture) I can't believe it arrived so quickly - we'll definatly have to get decorating this weekend now as my mum hasn't the space for all our boxes!!!!

Minnie, I bet you hair looks fab!!! I'm blonde normally but like to go dark in the winter - it gives me a cozy feel!!!!

Hope your wedding goes well this weekend by the way I bet you'll look fantastic!!!!

sweetheart · 08/07/2005 12:09

I haven't got that much money either expat - we are working to a strict budget. We have been saving hard since before we lost the last baby to be able to give this baby things we could give dd when she was born.

sweetheart · 08/07/2005 12:09

That should say couldn't give dd

MINNIE1 · 08/07/2005 12:12

Wedding next wkend, hair done this wkend in case of disaster!!

Enjoy your boxes of goodies.. Its all taken shape now...

sweetheart · 08/07/2005 12:20

Nemo1977 · 08/07/2005 12:24

Nemo1977 · 08/07/2005 12:41

DQ just seen bella on another thread..so safe n well

scully · 08/07/2005 13:03

absolutely, shop away if that works for you! i'm not much of a shopper anyway, probably a good thing when looking at all the cute little outfits you can get! and of course if it's a boy then I get to go clothes shopping for him afterwards!
getting xmas shopping done between Sep and Nov is my mission, although having to post a lot of things to Australia each year, I'm used to not being able to leave it to Xmas eve!
17wks tomorrow, feel like the time is flying by....

sweetheart · 08/07/2005 13:05

I've just relised my 20 week scan is in 12 DAYS

Gosh, that seems so close - can't believe how quickly the last 8 weeks has flown by.

It will be Dec tomorrow at this rate!!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 08/07/2005 13:43

afternoon ladies
dd2 has been throughtly spoilt now with doting aunts gift money. lovely!
I couldnt have a nursery at first for dd2, as we moved when she was 2WEEKS OLD (absolute nightmare, dont do it anyone!)so all her things were in boxes etc......so this time its nice to get ready and paint a room etc. I used to paint childrens rooms anyhow, and my 'big' two are far too grown up to let me paint any thing in their room so its just dd2 and new baby to fuss over paintwise we love bright colours and pictures here so its all fun and cosy in the end.
s/h am envious of youre scan being so soon. i am now going to check calendar and see how long I've got!!

scully · 08/07/2005 13:44

I'm looking at finishing work 19wks today - what a pleasant thought!

dramaqueen72 · 08/07/2005 13:44

could it PLEASE not be december tomorrow s/h? I have lots to do!

kangel · 08/07/2005 13:50

Hi all, I have spent the whole morning crying as my other half is being made redundant, just as I needed a real sence of security in my life (have been feeling really insecure lately). I slammed the door on one of the directors here coz he told me that what was happening doesn't affect me - no, not much!!!! (me and my other half work in the same building for the same company). Just come back from taking a 2 hour lunch break - I don't care what they say about it! Am about to tuck into a massive bag of Revels and I don't care if they make me sick, coz for now they make me feel better!!!

Sorry for putting a dampner on here - I just can't stop crying! Hormones hey!

Nemo1977 · 08/07/2005 13:52

aww kangel hun what a nightmare for u...hope ur dp finds a new job quickly and gets huge redundacny cheque
