george32 · 07/07/2005 13:49

Ninah, that is great news.

Are you OK for getting home Scully? We have heard mixed things about the mainline trains too. All a bit confusing.

kangel · 07/07/2005 13:53

Glad to hear everyone is ok!

SH - When are you meant to feel the baby moving and what does it feel like? I am now 17+3. Can anyone else feel theirs?

dramaqueen72 · 07/07/2005 14:16

kangel -sometime-anytime- between 16-24wks.........so dont worry yet (she says whos been frettting over not feeling hers yet either!)

sweetheart · 07/07/2005 14:17

kangel - I relised the other day I have been waiting for the wrong thing with regards to movements. I've been waiting to feel one definate movement but I've relised now I've been able to feel it for a while.

It's not a definate movement - for the last couple of weeks I've been aware of a sort of mass inside my stomach. Just been aware of it being there, it's so hard to explain. It's not really like buterfly's like people say because I hadn't noticed a movement sensation just the presence of something.

I know thats a crap discription - sorry.

Anyway, now I am feeling actuall kicks and things - only a few. First noticed that on Friday when I was 17 + 5

Hope this helps!!!

ninah · 07/07/2005 14:19

OP posts:
ninah · 07/07/2005 14:20

dramaqueen72 · 07/07/2005 14:23

goldenoldie,
Glad your ok,

15wks today..

expatinscotland · 07/07/2005 14:36

Just back from midwife appointment. 16 weeks, 4 days. Baby trying to squirm away from doppler, but she was able to track him/her. Measuring fine, all bloods normal, all urine normal. I declined the AFP test.

bonkerz · 07/07/2005 14:38

What a day! Glad all who are in london are ok and hope you all get home.

Im sure im feeling movements. felt butterflies at 14 weeks with ds but this time its like my belly is detached and i have a heavy ball inside juggling around. very funny! Also the other night when using the doppler i had to press hard cos baby was under a flabby bit of belly and dh felt a push on the doppler and as he did my belly 'barked as baby moved! All very strange!! I can defo fell more when i laid very still and culred with my legs up! Hated the movements with ds but am loving them this time.

Had a cup of tea today and was sick! Silly me for trying! Am REALLY tired but i think its going to last for a while yet!

ninah · 07/07/2005 14:40

your belly barked? a bit scary
are you sure it's a baby

OP posts:
sweetheart · 07/07/2005 14:41

golden - great to hear you are OK.

My mw told me some people don't feel movements until 20 wks so don't worry too much if you haven't felt anything yet.

kangel · 07/07/2005 15:03

golden - they are starting to open main line stations so I hope that will help you get home.

I have been feeling popping sensations and girgling type feelings but I think that is just trapped wind (nice!).
I guess I'll just have to wait for that definate punch or kick.

Bonkerz - I'm right there with you, I am still being sick too!!

sweetheart · 07/07/2005 15:05

kangel - I have been waiting and waiting to feel something - sods law that now I can feel definate movements I've relised I've been able to feel "the baby" inside me for a couple of weeks.

sweetheart · 07/07/2005 15:06

Does anyone know what sort of mattress is best.

I'm ordering my nursery furniture and don't know wether to go for spring or foam.

Whats best to minimize the risk of cot death???

expatinscotland · 07/07/2005 15:07

We always order mattresses from John Lewis.

Nemo1977 · 07/07/2005 15:10

we got spring for ds from toys r us and will be using it again for this baby..however ds is now foam and is very comfy
