george32 · 10/07/2005 20:38

Hi DQ, sorry you were feeling low yesterday. Hope you are brighter now.
I've spent the weekend keeping my cats & the kids 2 new dogs away from each other. We had high hopes as they said "they are OK with cats". Hmmm, not sure one of mine will agree after spending 4 hours camping out on the shed roof!! Dp wants to get a dog when I stop work so any tips on how to introduce them gratefully received.

Nemo1977 · 11/07/2005 09:07

morning all hope all godesses and bumps are ok
I am apart from yet again being shattered as DS was up at 5am. Not a lot going on here aprat from i may venture out to the shops to buy my sensory swap parcel. Take care all

sweetheart · 11/07/2005 09:32

Morning ladies - phew, thank goodeness it's Monday. Never thought I'd hear myself saying that but I've had such a hectic weekend I've come into work for a rest

Bonkerz, so sorry to hear your news - lets hope everything works out fine and your back on your feet soon hun!!!

Well, we painted the nursery this weekend and also sorted out dd's play room.
The carpet is going down today and the furniture arrived on Friday so that will be going together soon. We're also getting broadband installed at home today which means I'll be able to chat when I go on mat leave - YEAH!!!!

So, what happened to getting a new thread????

Hope your all well!!!!

expatinscotland · 11/07/2005 09:32

I'm roasting up here! ARrggh! Roll on Autumn.

Baby is kicking away. Even DH was able to feel it.

Nemo1977 · 11/07/2005 09:40

SH am glad u got a lot sorted must be sooooooooo exciting.

Expat i agree it is tooooooooooooo hot and we have fans everywhere but even so its not cool enough..lol

ninah · 11/07/2005 09:54

hello all happy monday
wishing bonkerz the best, thanks for the link
sh I can't believe you did all that in one weekend!
we had busy weekend too but all social, nothing productive, had our Henley trip was v nice only had a 'funny turn' for about 5 mins, had to sit down luckily nice 'young man' I was talking too v nice and sat down in sympathy so did not look odd. Saw Rick Astley .. and Showaddywaddy pmsl
Had a big chat with dp and decided I will do a law degree while on mat leave and after so when children are older I can get a 'proper job' and dp can take it a bit easier - quite looking forward to rolling in from the wine bar and moaning about the state of the house

OP posts:
sweetheart · 11/07/2005 09:59

ninah, sounds like you had just a busy weekend!!!

I have just refused to start an accounting degree - my boss thinks maternity leave would be the perfect time to do it. I personally am looking forward to putting my feet up for 6 months

I think you are very brave doing a law degree - but also slightly mad too!!!!!

Glad you enjoyed Henley - we had a good time last weekend too.

dramaqueen72 · 11/07/2005 10:05

blimey s/h!!!!!!!.youre going to be twiddling your thumbs from now and til dec, while the rst of us dash about like mad things you will be relaxing and sighing at the state of us thats an impressive amount to do in one weekend!
not even venturing into 'nursery' (use term v loosly right now as junk room full of art stuff more how it looks) til sept. holiday first, children back to school, THEn mad baby panic

and tho i sound like a grumbling ol woman , yes its too hot and stuffy!

ninah · 11/07/2005 10:08

hello dq we have a nursery like that! in fact we have a playroom like that too
sh you put us to shame, you not only shop with efficiency and brio but decorate ahead of time ..
Well done you for saying no !... haven't started yet, and am not quite sure it's 'me' but can't face a job like this Ever Again ..

OP posts:
sweetheart · 11/07/2005 10:21

Dd's play room was in dire need of a re-jig!!! She had a big chest of toys which was crammed full - we had no idea what was at the bottom!!!!!

Dh did most of the painting whilst I did food shopping, party runs etc etc.

Our "nursery" was very much a junk storage area too. It's all been piled into our bedroom now - pending a loft visit!!!! The rest of the house looks like a bomb has hit it!!!!

Come Nov/Dec I'll be sorting out Xmas stuff so I won't have my feet up too much!!!

Decorating was our way of celebrating our scan results and acknowledging that this baby is real and very much on it's way!!!!!!

ninah · 11/07/2005 10:29

cool!
puts buying a jacket at Asda and an early night to shame pmsl

OP posts:
sweetheart · 11/07/2005 10:33

I'm in dire need of an early night - fell asleep watching the BB eviction on Friday night.

sweetheart · 11/07/2005 11:57

OH NO - I've killed the thread!!!!

Well, anyone got any ideas to add to my girls names thread

I think we've settled on Lucas for a boy - but we just can't agree on a girls name!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 11/07/2005 12:06

LOL no you havent s/h, I was just having huge tidy up session in the garden for dd1's birthday treasure hunt on sunday. am now knackered and suspect will sit near computer rest of day
was only teasing you for being so organised and with it, no offence meant, I'm envious here but darent push dh on doing too much in one month (we've got alot on right now)
ninah wow a law degree, sounds v impressive. and abit scary......

ninah · 11/07/2005 12:07

Lucas is nice
I've added one which I thought was quite nice but will def no go with dp's surname - most things go with mine tho preen preen
I'm having trouble with girls names too, we are still stuck on George/Georgie atm

OP posts:
sweetheart · 11/07/2005 12:20

I didn't take offence DQ!!!! We had set aside this weekend for decorating - suppose to be my bedroom so I'm a bit gutted I've got to put up with the mustard and bottle green for a while longer (previous owners had NO taste!!!!!

Anyway, out for a girlie lunch now - hope to see you all later!!!

dramaqueen72 · 11/07/2005 12:26

have a nice lunch s/h

ninah i have a georgia, as i keep telling you so think its a lovely name youre hovering around!
she is georgia offically, george to me, georgie to dh.....works v well.

kangel · 11/07/2005 12:34

I felt the baby move!!!! Definate movements even dp could feel it, its so weird some times its just fluttering but over the weekend it was definate kicking or head butting or whatever it was doing!!

Starynight - ok ok you were right, popping sensations must have been it moving and not trapped wind as I thought!

sweetheart · 11/07/2005 14:02

ninah, DQ - I liked georgia too - though georgie was very cute for a little girl, unfortunalty it was yet another name on dh's NO list!!!

Kangel, thats fab news that you've felt movements. It's typical to relise you've been able to feel things all along!!!!

Lunch was lovely - feeling quite stuffed now though!!!

Dh has just rung to say dd has been sent home ill from school - wish I was at home to cuddle her

Nemo1977 · 11/07/2005 14:04

arghhhh just had nightmare morning soooooooooooooooo glad to be back home...lol Got phone call from hospital to say my mil had collapsed having a gold injection [rheumatoid arthritis thing] so they needed a next of kin asap and her dh was playing golf and she only has G [my dh] for children and he is in work on a long day so i had to run get dressed try and get adam dressed [who decided he would wear his shorts as a top..pmsl] then drive 40mins to the hospital to then spend 40mins trying to find somewhere to park. I had to park about 20min walk away which with a toddler is a nightmare...anyways got to mil who had been moved to A+E and looked bloody awful. Sat there for hour waiting for bloods to come back etc for them to say ur fine now go home...sigh. With the heat it was a bit of a nightmare to say the least...lol Anyways moan over. Just went to macdonalds for our lunch and bought one of their new deli sandwich things which i know cant bring myself to eat...madness of being pregnant...

goldenoldie · 11/07/2005 15:10

Only just seen this - hope Bonk + baby are OK.

Ninah - You are energetic. How long is your maternity leave? I though a law degree would take a few years.....Just wondered as my Mat. leave is 26 weeks - do you think I could fit a quick degree into that, in between feeding, changing, and bathing the twins that is!
