Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

Womba1, My MW did the same!!! Then the consultant had a go at my booking in and then 3 goes at the blood bank!!!

6th October is my next scan. I will be 22+3 by then. It does seem ages away doesn't it. Mind you, we have got loads going on in August and then away for the first 2.5 weeks in September on a big holiday, as soon as we get back my ante natal appointments start so I guess it'll all come quick.

I was thinking about paying for a scan while we are on holiday. We are travelling between Canada and the USA so I was thinking they might be a bit cheaper with the exchange rates...what do you think?

womba1 · 03/08/2005 10:34

Tictac.. i think that sounds like a great idea... you can only enquire can't you?!
Sounds like you have a very busy few months coming up... i am so envious of your trip too! I've always fancied going to Canada and my dh is coming round to the idea but no way would it happen before this peanut arrives and i can't see it happening afterwards... ho hum... nevermind!

I have an Uncle and Auntie who live in Hong Kong (Kowloon)and they have been going on at us for ages to visit them so maybe that'll be on the cards. I just want a holiday... the perfect excuse to put feet up and be waited on!

Anyway, i have a little man here who is looking rather neglected and is still in his pj's... hope you start to feel better as the day goes on and i'll pop back on a bit later.
Take care x

TicTac · 03/08/2005 10:39

Thanks Womba1. Best get diddy Womba ready for the day I'll catch you later. X

BarefootMama · 03/08/2005 10:47

Babylilly - I am so sorry that your news was not what you had hoped and understand that you are feeling despair. There is a lady on a nother thread who already had a little girl and recently had nuchal with her second child - it gave her a high risk.....hang on i will try to find the thread x

BarefootMama · 03/08/2005 10:58

I hope this is it this might help you right now x

TicTac · 03/08/2005 12:01

Hi Barefoot...how are you today?

spacecadet · 03/08/2005 12:12

tic tac-with my last couple of pregs a surge of sicness seemed to coinside with bubs having a growth spurt! i had weekly scans and they would say oh baby has had a growtrh spurt and it seemed to coincidental that id been more wrethched than usual!
babylilly-im so sorry about your scan result, please dont lose heart though, i have heard that this can happen but the baby can be fine, medical technigues arent infalible{{{{hugs}}}}

TicTac · 03/08/2005 12:24

Hi Space. You had a weekly scan...blimey, you must be old hat at them by now? Was that becuase of a problomatic pregnancy (sorry, you don't have to answer if too personal!)

TicTac · 03/08/2005 16:07

Anyone out there?

Just been onto a company in Toronto called UC Baby (we go to Toronto in September). They do the 4D scan including pictures, DVD etc for $175 which is around £90!! I think I might book in..what do you ladies think?

Also, have any of you bought anything for your beans yet? I know that not everyone is over the 12 week hurdle and scans yet but just wondered!

BarefootMama · 03/08/2005 16:09

Hi tic Tac - i am good - not actually wretched for two days now but still tired and sickly! That scan sounds good - I have got cleft palate and hare lip for my latest worry (!) and read that 4d scans are excellent for anomilies like that.

I feel as if i have such a bad case of pms - sooo snappy - maybe its just tiredness!!

How are you all today?

Tabs · 03/08/2005 16:38

TicTac - great price - go for it!!

I haven't bought anything for Chip yet, but have just started researching stuff. Narrowed our choice of pram to 2, and have told DH to research baby monitors as all the ones our friends bring round get loads of interference.

How about you?

TicTac · 03/08/2005 17:00

Well I have just made first purchase! Bare in mind this is our 1st baby so there is no doubt I will go way over the top (gulp) but I bought a gorgeous little coat from Asda and a jumper and trousers from next...Hopefully going to Ikea tonight to buy a big box to keep all little bits in for now!

As for being snappy....I yelled at some bloke in Asda carpark who was in a 4x4, parked so close to my car and at an angle so bumbers practically touched at the back. There was no way I could have got in the car...

Then, while I was in next this woman had 5 kids with has and was letting 1 little boy run around with the pushchair...he ran over my toes twice so I have to admit I snapped at the mother....

I promise you all I am not normally like this!!!!!!

Tabs · 03/08/2005 17:28

TicTac - are the jumper and trousers unisex? Think I'm going to try and resist clothing for now - should just need lots of babygrows initially - apparently everyone ends up buying clothes and then you have too many, so try not to go too mad!!

TicTac · 03/08/2005 17:39

Hi tabs - yes everything is cream!! I am sure everyone will buy stuff although i have asked my sister in particular to only buy age 3months plus stuff!!

spacecadet · 03/08/2005 18:21

hi tic tac 90 sounds a good price!
i had weekly scans as i have, deformed kidneys,
underactive thyroid, bleeding in pregnancy and ist baby dies due to placental abruption
im an old wreck!

TicTac · 03/08/2005 18:24

Oh Space what a mish mash....lets hope this one does as it is told

womba1 · 03/08/2005 19:56

Evening ladies... i'm in agony!! I was out walking with my ds earlier today and i suddenly got an excruciating pain through my groin! I couldn't move and was literally stood still for 10 minutes just leaning over a wall.
I made it home and the pain has now moved to the top of my butt cheek but i can't get comfortable. I've had a bath and couldn't get out without my dh's help and i'm now laying on the sofa with my laptop on the floor and i'm getting twinges through my groin again.
Help?? I don't know much about SPD and don't want to appear a drama queen but does this sound like a possibility?? I'm not about to start reading websites and getting bogged down with info so if anyone could shed any light, i'd be really grateful.
Oh by the way, great news about the scan Tictac.. you must be so excited!!

spacecadet · 03/08/2005 20:02

womba, it could be sciatica.

womba1 · 03/08/2005 20:07

Spacecadet... it could be couldn't it? Or i could have just moved awkwardly or something! I just can't believe how much it hurts... i'm such a wuss!

spacecadet · 03/08/2005 20:45

womba if the pain moved into your buttock it could be sciatica, i had spd and that started about 18 weeks,it also could be ligaments in the abdomen stretching, so you might get referred pain in your buttock, if it doesnt get better i would go to the doctors.

TicTac · 03/08/2005 21:15

Womba1 - I have no idea what it could be but I am with sapce...if it does not ease, get to the doctors!

womba1 · 03/08/2005 21:18

I need a wee but don't want to move off the sofa as i've finally found a position that doesn't hurt! My dh is being a complete to$$er and making whooshy watery noises.... he'd get such a whack if i could actually reach him!!

TicTac · 03/08/2005 21:24

MESSAGE FROM HOTMAMA1
I'm absolutely fine and the pregnancy is progressing well - nearly 15 weeks.
Had a CVS a couple of weeks ago and the result was good and find out any day
what the sex is - will find out as a 'reward' for not miscarrying and the
test results being negative to Downs.

The reason I haven't posted is my bloody machine is not letting me post
again - I seem to get locked out occasionally - bloody MACs - hence the Feb
06 thread is a sequel! Thought it was a bit cheeky to ask for another thread
to be started up again. When a new thread starts up I will start posting
again (until my machine plays up again).

Started back at work this week as I was still on maternity leave - and will
go off again at Christmas (oops).

TicTac · 03/08/2005 21:25

So with that....would any of you mind if we start a new thread again??? Perhaps something like Due Feb '06 into the 2nd Trimester we go??

womba1 · 03/08/2005 21:33

Go for it Tictac!!!
