Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

btw at anyone that doesnt feel sick.

YeahBut · 21/06/2005 17:02

With you on that one, Spacecadet. Am feeling rubbish - very sick. Have been told that this is a sign of a well-established pregnancy but I think that's just something to make me feel better!

Have an appointment to see an OB/GYN at the hospital on Monday so will get the lowdown on care / scans etc in Holland then.

Anyone else looking out for the due in March 06 thread? Keep thinking that it will all seem a bit less tenuous then!

Tabs · 21/06/2005 17:40

spacecadet of those of you who are sick! Want to convince myself all is well by throwing my guts up! (would help my diet too )

womba1 · 21/06/2005 17:55

Hello Ladies!
Mama 5 - i'm saying that i'm 6 weeks and 4 days.

Nothing much to report from sunny Eastbourne! Still have sore mubs, feel a litle tired most afternoons and haven't felt even the smallest wave of nausea. I haven't even had any heartburn recently which i suffered with from almost day one last time!
Spacecadet... sorry to see you're suffering and great news Babylily!!

TicTac · 21/06/2005 19:57

Evening all, chuffed to see some new faces again and big to you guys who have had early scans....I bet it has made things seem more real. I am 7+4 and only feel slight nausea...
X

Kassie · 21/06/2005 20:50

scan today, size of ? suggests 6 +1 but too early to see anything well. Sonographer thought she could see heartbeat but couldn't be sure wasn't a flicker on screen! Got to go to high risk clinics every fornight from now due to diabetes (OHHH its a bugger!) So fingers still crossed for beanie.

Glad some of the scans have been more enlightening! Congrats!

Frizbe · 21/06/2005 22:45

Hotmama, 'Oh it's you ' Yes I remember you! we shall have to compare bumps at the meet up then!

Sorry to Spacecadet and Yeahbut for feeling really sicky, I have vague nausea at the mo still, but sure it will get worse....

I guess I need to get around to ringing the docs and getting a booking in appointment then....as its a 2nd wonder if I'll get seen sooner or later?

Mama5 · 22/06/2005 10:28

My LMP was 05/05/05 so I think I am seven weeks today although people keep confusing me ( i am not very bright and its only my sixth pregnancy)
Desperate for a scan .....wont relax even a tiny bit till I have had one!

Afternoon girls - watching Wimbledon because it's tooooo hot outside!

Got my dating scan tomorrow and dp is taking the day off so he can come - taking dd who is nearly 9 months!

Apart from my day of chucking last week, I feel fab so I am worried about "what if" they don't find a heartbeat or it's twins etc. Is anyone else having these irrational fears - never considered anything would be wrong when I was having dd - am I just weird or is this normal?

Assuming everything is O.K tomorrow will book my CVS probably in week commencing 9th July when I will be 11 weeks +, then it's the hurdles of not miscarrying and finding out if everything is O.K. If everything turns out O.K I will 'reward' myself with finding out the sex - I did last time - so I should know for definite by 13 weeks. [crossed fingers icon].

How is everyone else?

teuch · 22/06/2005 12:54

Hullo all. nothing to report here...still nauseous with cramps & diar to contend with but hasn't got worse.

I have my 'carry on' (because I feel like a character from a Carry On... film!) boobs back which DH is delighted with! up 2 cup sizes already .

Also really bloated stomach and can't wear tight breeks...which is a problem since all of my clothes are that tiny bit tight at the best of times...

spacecadet · 22/06/2005 13:26

mama5 have to go back on the 28th for rescan as scan suggested early preg of about 5 weeks, just a tiny sac, no heartbeat visible, hcg levels high!

RachelRog · 22/06/2005 14:34

Nothing to report here either I'm afraid.....no symptoms yet apart from bloated tummy.....no nausea yet (keep telling myself it doesn't usually kick in till 6-8 weeks or at least thats what the books say).

Keep looking at the sun thinking that I really must sunbathe and make the most of it but can't seem to bear the heat! Pathetic!!

Feel like I may have jinxed things as I bought some maternity clothes yesterday.....I saw on one of the other threads that JoJoMamanbebe were having a massive sale and bought 4 tops for £20.00 (were all about 75% off). They were so cheap I couldn't resist!!!

My last p/g when I had my missed m/c I bought a pram early on, was saying to everyone that ' nothing I buy will make a difference...if it goes wrong it goes wrong ' but then was gobsmacked when it did!! Now I keep saying 'surely it can't go wrong twice'.

Please tell me I am not being stupid!!

teuch · 22/06/2005 14:55

Rachelrog...I am the same. I just keep saying that lightning doesn't strike twice (even though I know the chances are exactly the same as my last pg).

I am going along (as much as I can) with the notion that everything is absolutely fine. That way, I at least get to enjoy being pregnant and all the planning and stuff.

Strangely, I expected the worst rigt from the start of my last pg (m/m/c at 11wks) whereas I am really positive this time round...onwards and upwards!

RachelRog · 22/06/2005 15:39

teuch, have you told people yet then or are you waiting till your scan?

With my ds we told everyone the day I got a BFP!! With the last pregnancy in March I decided not to.....don't know why......this time we have just told our parents....will tell the world if all is well at my scan in 3 weeks......are you having an early scan? (sorry if you have already said and I am just being too lazy to scroll back )

With my missed m/c I had crampy stomach aches and backaches alot but don't feel like that this time......I too am trying to be really positive which is why I bought the maternity clothes!! I WILL GET TO WEAR THEM!!!!

Mama5 · 22/06/2005 16:23

Me too Rachelrog and Teuch...no telling anyone ( one close friend) trying to think lightening would not strike twice. Getting scan friday when I will be 7+ some and if I dont relax a bit then....
Have you two had early scans?

OP posts:
teuch · 22/06/2005 17:18

hiya

I am having a private scan just for reassurance as you can't get one in my area unless their is a problem. I should be about 9wks by then.

I had HcG levels done last week which were good so we told my mum & sister and DH's parents. His parents didn't find out last time til it was bad news so I wanted them to enjoy 'knowing' come what may!

RachelRog · 22/06/2005 17:48

Mama - having a scan on 12th July when I will be 8+5 ...... could have had one earlier but have an exam so knew I couldn't cope with bad news before that!!

Are you having an early scan?

Think about 9 weeks is a good time for a san as heart should be beating and will be something bigger to see!! (hoping so anyway!!!)

RachelRog · 22/06/2005 17:49

meant 'scan' NOT 'san' .......must preview more!!

Mama5 · 22/06/2005 20:12

I will only be 7+2 but have had a couple of spotting bits and just cannot wait any longer. Wanted to hang on till eight but midwives just referred me when I rang and said. I cant face the whole scenario but am trying to be positive. feeling like sh*% might count for something!

OP posts:
RachelRog · 22/06/2005 21:58

Ooooo..not long to wait then Mama.....it will make you feel more positive when you see your little bubba on screen!!! I can't wait....20 days to wait!

Tabs · 23/06/2005 09:28

Morning ladies.

Inspired by this sentence from teuch yesterday 'I just keep saying that lightning doesn't strike twice (even though I know the chances are exactly the same as my last pg)', I was thinking about some statistics last night (mathematical background - sorry!).

Although the odds of each pregnancy failing are theoretically the same (heard lots of diff statistics for this, but assuming 1 in 5, or 20%), it would mean that the odds of having 2 consecutive m/cs are only 4%. For those of us having early scans, I also believe that the risk of m/c drops from 20% to about 5% once a heartbeat has been picked up on the scan above 7 weeks, so the odds of having a previous m/c and then another consecutive m/c after a successful early scan are down to 1%.

Hope you'll consider this a comforting statistic.

teuch · 23/06/2005 09:35

I love statistics!!

I am not even going to try and get my head round the actual maths but it is very reassuring...

Tabs · 23/06/2005 10:31

How exciting - there's a due in March thread now!

TicTac · 23/06/2005 11:06

Tabs...so are there any stats on misscarriage at various stages of pregnancy?

I am 8 weeks and my doc said that most misscarriages happen in weeks 6 and 7...is this true?
