Hi All, just been catching up as not been around for a wee while.

Kaylo - congratulations!

Suey - Good luck for wednesday

Littleonemum - congratulations, hope you are keeping ok.

Pamelat - Hope you can relax now in our new pad!

Memorylapse - What a time you are having. I hope you are ok. Glad you are now getting support from new hospital - that nurse sounded horrendous.

Cith I had pandermix jab last week (14 weeks). Had a sore arm afterwards but nothing else.

Not much happening here, at 15 weeks still feeling really crap - so much for te magic 12 week mark! Was sent home from work today as i "looked dreadful" apparently - suufering from headaches and tiredness

Nearly passed out with a patient last week at work and had to ask one of my colleagues to take over! She said i had turned a horrible shade of grey!

TomlinTowers · 30/11/2009 21:14

Hi All

Memory - please try not to worry about your baby. Just think - it is still protected by your pelvic bone, and it has all that fluid around it as a shock absorber. I know it must be worrying, but just try and take it easy. I hope you DS is OK too.

pamelat - congrats on the house move! My Dsis and BIL moved on Friday after 15 months trying to sell and the buy a house, and we went round on Sunday (they have moved literally round the corner from us in our village). I have to say I felt slightly smug when I came home to our lovely tidy house and left them surrounded by boxes - convinced me that we don't need to move for at least another 2 years!

Had the swine flu jab today (pandemrix) - no ill effects at all, not even a sore arm. Hoping I will sleep through the worst of it. I have to say I was surprised that the nurse didn't write anything in my green notes to say what batch of vaccine I had had, or even that I had had the jab, as I don't think the hospital will have access to my GP notes, so I have written the date of the jab on my green notes just in case.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Carikube · 30/11/2009 21:53

Tomlin the nurse didn't write anything down for me after my jab (Pandemrix) today either so I have no record of batch number etc but it didn't occur to me to ask...
My arm is now quite sore compared to earlier in the day so I'm even more glad that I had it in my right arm so that I can sleep on my left side tonight!

Sophie2008 · 30/11/2009 22:22

I got some good news today, although the MOD are only investing in the Pandenrix SF vaccine due to cost, the Med Centre are refering me through the PCT so i can have the Celvapan SF jab, as neither could see a reason why i can not have the Celvapan one. Might not get it for a couple of weeks but well happy that i didn't have to push for a fight to get it (well not yet anyway).
Also I will be requesting the same one for DD if she gets offered it.

Only feel the twins move now again at the minute. I think they are one behind the other. I freaked DH out yesterday, i was stading against the kitchen counter and leaned back, and the middle of my belly when into a prominent ridge, it was unreal and so wierd looking. I assume it was one of the twins.

I can not believe how big i have got, and i've only gained 3lb and i'm 17 weeks today. My belly button has started to push out already.

DH raised the question of who will look after DD when the time comes that i will be in labour. We will be only be living in our new house 4-8 weeks so won't really know anyone and family is a 3 hour drive away on a good day. Not sure i could give birth on my own. In some strange way i hope the labour is long enough for family to get to us to look after DD so DH can come to the hospital too. Have mentioned a Doula to him but it's just the cost of it, on top of buying double of most things.

I really want to hear the twins heartbeats, annoyed that they didn't even try at my 16 week appointment, oh well, only 3 weeks to go until i see the midwife again.

Yorky - You were right the small play area is closed off at the moment... (again!!)

booboomonster · 30/11/2009 23:19

Hey guys
hope all bearing up.

Memory - what a stress! Hope u are feeling ok. I tripped and fell on my 30 week bump last time (in middle of road) and all was fine. Though I have a scar! They are well protected in there. Not nice being hit by DS tho - hope u are managing to get him some help too. Hood luck!

Cravings - I am defo more savoury than sweet this time but think DH only produces girls... Time will tell. Relate up those who feel they just look a big thick round middle... Thought second time around bump wd be here by now - 14.5...

Molly sounds hard to deal with bi polar. Dont think I could do it. Respect.

Re swine flu... Every time I mention pandemrix to anyone they think I'm saying pandemic... Can't help thinking they picked a crap name. Haven't had a jab, haven't had letter. Am in denial. Will wait for summons I think, and go from there. Good to hear what everyone else is doing tho.

Night all! X

booboomonster · 30/11/2009 23:21

Memory - meant to say good luck... Sorry bout typos, bloody small typing area thingy...

mollybob · 30/11/2009 23:30

Had a mildly hysterical day - crying a lot - all sorts of stuff I've buried since DH has been ill has resurfaced - all sorts of worries about work, money etc. Not enjoying this pregnancy at all - have too many commitments anyway without adding pregnancy into the mix. Baby will be ok as DH is great with the kids and I think it'll be very good for him really. He is trying to look after me but he isn't that well - more stable than he's been and not dangerously ill but not himself and I miss the old him.

Long drawn out and miserable saga really and nothing new to be said - usual response when I do bore people is how amazingly strong I am (I'm not really - have just had to cope) or that DH is lazy, useless and I should chuck him out (which I wouldn't be told if he was below par with cancer and yet bipolar at his age is as common and often as deadly)

Enough of that. Have had definite movements today - massive kick just as I was tucking into a KFC at lunch (DH went and got it for me - day off today spent in bed). Sproglet clearly approves of my chicken burger fetish.

Glad everyone is doing ok - sorry about your struggles ML - glad babe is doing well x

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 01/12/2009 07:56

Mollybob - sorry you've had a bad day, that all sounds very hard It sounds like you are amazingly strong, I'm sure there are people who wouldn't have been able to cope.

Sophie2008 - good news for you about the Celvapan. It sounds v.exciting to be seeing the bump move already!

Tomlin and Carikube - hope you both had a good night's sleep after the jab.

Den26 - sorry you're still feeling rubbish, hope you start to feel better soon.

Glad LO is doing well Memorylapse, hope this pregnancy settles down for you.

Carikube · 01/12/2009 09:02

Mollybob hope everything settles down for you and that today is a better day than yesterday.

TCH I actually slept very well thanks; though my arm is still sore it's not as bad as last night so hopefully it will ease off during the day. I'm actually v pleased I didn't have the Celvapan as I wouldn't want to have to go back for the second injection!

Hobnobfanatic · 01/12/2009 10:05

Sorry to hear that some are having a rough time. Memorylapse, I'm sure you'll turn a corner soon and everything will be rosy - you're getting all your quota of bad luck out in one go.

Mollybob - I have a friend whose DP is bi-polar, and know how tough it is for those who are around. My DP has depressive bouts, but seems ok at the moment. In fact. it's usually the case that he's up when I'm down - and vice versa. A good seesaw act, which means one of us can always support the other. It's only occasional in our cases, thankfully.

My SF saga continues. After the PCT and GP being helpful, I saw my GP yesterday, and he gave me a letter of referral to a clinic with Celvapan stocks. Thye have refused to give it to me, saying that, as of yesterday afternoon, there's been new guidance and Pandemrix has been deemed safe for pregnancy., So they won't give me Celvapan and I should go back to my GP. I'm waiting for them to ring now... I can't find anything about new guidance anywhere - anyone have any clues?

Glad the house move went well, Pamelat - and hope everyone else is ok.

memorylapse · 01/12/2009 10:35

mollybob..Im sorry things are tough at the mo..Im assuming DH has a CPN? does he see them regularly..Im assuming he is medicated.
having worked in mental health vI view mental health problems no differently to any other health problem..if your leg was broken you would get sympathy..but with mental health problems..its an unseen illness that many struggle to understand..tbh the brain is such a complex organ..its little surprise that it can become "unwell".

do you have a support network at all? coping with a partner or relative with a mental health problem is not easy to do alone

itshappenedagain · 01/12/2009 11:10

morning all!
glad to see that everyone is just about surviving!
ML- yep bump is very protected and has managed to survive many a bump or knee from Ds (not intentionally).
all those with mental health issues or partners with them i understand what it is like and sometimes you wish you had someone to support you more. it is so hard to get the help needed as someone has already said it is an unseen illness. hope all settles down before the babie arrive.
eneded up in emergancy room yesterday at request of midwife, sat there for three and a bit hours and eventually left as i had to go and colect Ds from nursery. i have been feeling movements so not as concerned as i was, plus they sugessted i may have to be kept in untill they found out why i was bleeding...not a chance!
Finally told my mum yesterday, she had to put the phone down initally with shock, but called back and hour later and all was fine.
just the rest of the family to tell and that can be done at christmas when it has sunk in with my mum, who will be telling my dad as he wasnt home last night.

Morph2 · 01/12/2009 14:26

hi everyone, i thought i'd better say hello as i've been following the thread since September but haven't posted before. I'm currently 16 weeks and 1 day with my first and just turned 36 last Sunday.

I've been really lucky so far, had no morning sickness at all and haven't really had any other nasty symptoms other then extreme tiredness, in fact when i went for my scan at 14 weeks it took her a few moments to find the baby (which i believe is nothing unusual) and i started to worry there was nothing there and i'd imagined it all.

Should hopefully be having my 21 week scan first week in Jan but at the time of my 14 week scan all the appointments for that week were already gone (to do with all the bank holidays and there being less available) so i have to wait for them to add on some more appointments

memorylapse · 01/12/2009 14:58

thanks everyone for your reassuring words..Im 18 weeks today..cant beleive it..and have been to the day assesment unit..they dont scan as its hospital policy so could only reassure that the pain was probably more me..than anything else..heards babies hb..nice and strong and it was kicking about..Im back in the high risk clinic tomorrow so hopefully they will listen in then too.

guess what? the boiler has died again and the house stinks of diesel..I just want to move,.landlord is happy to end the tenancy..but we now need to find somewhere else to live..fast

MoggMum · 01/12/2009 16:15

Hi Morph2 and congrats on your first pregnancy from another 30'something first timer!

memorylapse · 01/12/2009 18:37

congrats morph

Im convinced I shouldnt be allowed out..managed to stall my car waiting in traffic and of course my car is a right drama queen and stalls spectacularly..cue full on lurching forward and yet more worry for me...I should have a hazard warning sign on me

memorylapse · 01/12/2009 18:58

speaking of doing daft things..is anyone else finding preg brain kicking in?/ I already feel silly and squishy and daft..its only a matter of time before I shut the electric cable of a sandwich toaster..IN the sandwich toaster whilst switched on..and then wonder why the electricity has gone off and what the burning smell is (yes I actually did this at 36 weeks with ds2)

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 01/12/2009 19:16

Memorylapse - I don't think my preg brain ever went away! But it's certainly been stronger lately. My hormones seem to be on a bit of a power trip lately as well, not fun! I'm learning to drive atm, and I think I'm just getting worse

Morph2 - welcome to the thread and congratulations

Hobnobfanatic - sorry you're having problems getting the Celvapan. I'm having the Pandemrix tomorrow afternoon. Haven't heard anything about new guidelines though.

Carikube - glad the jab didn't affect you too badly, I'm worried about having no sleep tomorrow and then a dead arm for my driving lesson on Thursday morning.

memorylapse · 01/12/2009 19:23

carikube..glad to hear no ill effects from the jab..I think most people have reported a dead arm.

TCH..well done learing to drive when pregnant..to be honest Im not sure Im even safe to cross the road at the moment!

I have been really naughty and had mcdonalds chicken legend and a slice of angel layer cake for tea...oh dear..my blood sugar will be through the roof later! think it has already affected baby who has just given me a few hefty jabs

memorylapse · 01/12/2009 19:24

blimey just realised its Dec..havent changed calenders over..omg..just over 3 weeks to christmas

Hollyoaks · 01/12/2009 21:29

Katie - welcome to the group and congratulations.

Pamelat - glad the move went well and your settled. I'm sure dd will also settle in a few days. I've found since my energy levels are up weaning dd off of CBeebies is proving difficult. Feel guilty for letting her watch so much but it did help us get through the day.

littleone - comgratulations on a little girl, girls are fab.

Suey - good luck with the amnio tomorrow.

ML - try not to worry, I'm sure bubs is safe in there. Could your ds have a form of OSD? No experience, just guessing. As for preg. brain kicking in, its been there from the moment of conception

Morph - welcome to the thread and congratulations.

Itshappenedagain - glad dm took it well.

Quick update from me, had a wonderful time at Slaley Hall with dh. Heated bathroom floor, plasma TV, superking bed, amazing shower, 3 course meal, breakfast in bed, bliss .

Shame its over and back to work, have a offsted-style inspection in my department at work tomorrow and thurday. I'm being observed 4 times and lose my free lesson as well . I'm meant to be working at the minute but thought I'd have a catch-up.

Still at those feeling movement, might try a KFC tomorrow though still only 14+1. Will try a tower fillet anyway

Hollyoaks · 01/12/2009 21:34

Mollybob - sorry, I knew someones message got deleted from my post. Hope dh's depression lifts so your under less pressure. Thanks for putting thoughts of KFC into my head, and I don't mean that sarcastically, I genuinely excited for tomorrow teatime.

memorylapse · 01/12/2009 21:45

hollyoaks..Im v ery of your time away..sounds lovely

sorry if I have missed peoples posts..the thread can move so quickly its hard to keep up!..
suey..good luck for tomorrow..Ive never had an amnio so cant comment from experience..UI do know people who have and they said its more uncomfortable than anything else and they just kept focusing on the baby on the scanner

I was very naughty and had a mcdonalds chicken legend for tea..first takeaway Ive had in about 5 months...I also had some angel layer cake..but it seemed to affect my blood sugar levels less than eating a couple of yoghurts

Cith · 01/12/2009 22:18

Hi ladies. Thanks for all your SF jab info.
mollybob am sorry to hear that things are so miserable for you and dh. I hope that you can both get the help and support that you need to get you through.
memorylapse - glad to hear that things are ok. Completely understand the calander issue - DH and I realised we have missed loads of birthdays as didn't re-hang the calander after we moved house! Still on September page!
hollyoaks glad that you had a wonderful time away - good luck with the ofsted inspection.
morph2 and katie - welcome and congratulations!
suey good luck with the amnio. Will be thinking of you and sending lots of positve thoughts.

I seemed to have suddenly been filled with energy - but incredibly scatty! My husband thinks it is hillarious. SOunds like there are a few of us into comfort food...I am powerless to resist baked goods! Have been cooking up a storm here since Sunday - a few friends coming over on Saturday for some Christmas drinks and have perhaps been a little overly enthusiastic and cooked thai chicken sausage rolls, mini lamb pies, and fruit mince pies ...could nesting hormones be settling in already!??

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 02/12/2009 09:49

Hello folks, hope you're all doing ok, good luck for today Suey if that's when you're having the amnio.

OMG MY BOOBS ARE KILLING ME! Is anyone else suffering? They're so tender I'm not even wearing a bra and they're just sitting there throbbing. Owwwww.

Think the heartburn is kicking in too, I've heard eating refreshers works as a heartburn remedy. I might take it upon myself to do a bit of research on the subject (nom nom nom!)

Baby brain, yeah mine's been pretty bad, had a comedy moment the other day when I arrived at my mil's house with the cordless landline phone in my handbag instead of my mobile!

After about a week of not feeling any movement, last night the baby was dancing away happily into the wee hours. I poked it and it stopped, then started up again a minute later - I bet it thought "what the hell was that??" lol
