ML glad you got some positive news and baby is absolutely fine.

kaylo congratulations, haven't popped onto your conception thread in a while as haven't had the time but glad to hear you'll be moving to antenatal. I hope everything goes well this time, keep us informed.

Cravings I'm not really craving it but can't get enough fish. Not a big fan usually but constantly munching on tuna and scampi (mm), even dds fish fingers.

sweetkitty · 28/11/2009 22:07

hi everyone hope you are all having a good weekend, it's freezing and foggy here.

kaylo - that's great news, I know you will be v nervous for the first 12 weeks but the odds are well stacked in you favour

pigley - DD3 wouldn't go near FC today, we were at the school Xmas Fayre, I was helping out had a nice sit down job though, DP went with the 3 girls, DD3 was more interested in the cake stand, honestly do not know where the girl puts it, she is so dainty yet has some appetite. I have been chasing her around with a hankie all week too. Fruit juices are a sign of a girl so say the old wives, savoury and salty is a boy, sweet and juicy a girl.

Scans - am so jealous of all you getting your scan dates, I am not allowed one as I was too early getting pregnant, if I were to be be booked in from next week I would get one, drives me mad, we are getting a private one though

SF vaccine - booked for next Tuesday

Junk food - had McDs today am craving Indian food too but usually too lazy to actually go get some

TinyVeins · 29/11/2009 08:43

Morning all!
So glad to hear your good news ML, must be such a relief.
Having thought I could put off the SF decision I got my invitation letter this week. I'm seeing the midwife this week so will talk to her about it then. Will probably get it done though as the risks of not doing so seem greater than those of having it.
No weird cravings yet but is anyone else already finding it difficult to get comfy sleeping and sitting? Am off to the chiropractor next weekofo see if she can help.
Bump is growing apace and it's time for over-the-bump rather than just one-size-up. Mothercare had some nice looking stuff and their maternity tights are good (don't got near M&S or Debenhams ones).
reassuring to hear of other still with morning sickness beyond the magical week 12. When do I get to stop carrying oatcakes everywhere?!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 29/11/2009 08:54

Pigley - glad your DD is feeling better. I want to take DD to meet Father Christmas in town this week - our town does an 'Edwardian Evening' where all the shops are open late offering drinks and snacks and there's loads of Christmassy stuff going on. I think she might be a bit freaked out by it though.

Itshappenedagain - I'll be 20+2 by then. I think it was the only appointment they had when I could see my consultant.

Mollybob - I really want a chicken burger too now! I'm really craving something most of the time but I can't identify what it actually is! It's v.annoying. I do really want crab though and lobster (I've never eaten lobster before and don't normally like seafood so not sure what that's about!)

Hollyoaks · 29/11/2009 09:17

Morning all, feeling rough at this time in the morning and gag at anything but have to come on early as dh and I are having a night away. DD is staying over at my mil's and we are having a romantic night in a 5 star hotel. I've booked it for dh's birthday which is tomorrow but he doesn't know I've upgraded the room to a suite. Got a great deal on the internet and managed to save £90.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the weekend, I'm finding they're flying over as I've got so much xmas shopping to do and have to cram it into the two days dh is off (hopefully).

Not enough bump yet for maternity clothes but too much bump to hide it. I'm at that awkward stage of looking either possibly pregnant or a bit tubby round the middle.

mollybob · 29/11/2009 11:31

I'm off to work in an hour and will get a chicken burger while I'm there - DD is poorly with some horrid bug (not swine flu) and DS is off to a party with friends from his new school. Annoying that I'm at work as it means DH will be ferrying DS around with poorly DD in the car.

Definitely felt movements yesterday. Lots of stuff going on in my life at the moment that is taking away the joy of this pregnancy. Might start a thread on relationships or mental health about it - all is well with me and DH but he has bipolar and it's a bit rubbish.

Still this is a happy place right now so hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 29/11/2009 11:33

Hi guys, my food cravings are different this time around, last time it was fruit, cheese, salads etc, this time I do still like that stuff, but I'm craving fizzy pop, sweets, yoghurts, jelly, fruit juice etc - it was far healthier last time, I bet I've put on a load of weight!

Not been feeling much movement off the baby, or maybe I just haven't been listening out as much. I'm not concerned anyway, it's probably just positioned somewhere I don't feel it much. Bump continues to grow!

Can't wait for my scan (no date yet) just want to fast forward the next couple of weeks til it's christmas and new year and I get to see the baby!

suey2 · 29/11/2009 11:51

Wonderful news ml and kaylo

Food: I had a macdonalds last week. First time in probably 10 years! Mahhhnnn it was good! Another one for fatty carbs: especially now sugar is off the menu.

My amnio is on Wednesday afternoon tfa. Preliminary results by the weekend: hopefully, since I go on hols Sunday.

memorylapse · 29/11/2009 12:01

mollybob...Im sorry to hear that your DH has bi polar..its a challenging condition to live with...
not quite the same but my DH suffers from clinical depression and is currently very low and its hard for me because selfishly I want his support, not to be supporting him.

is your DH'S biploar disorder well controlled?

gorgeousgirl4444 · 29/11/2009 12:40

schipo · 29/11/2009 14:29

Great to hear your good news ML and Kaylo! Welcome to Katie

Suey, I agree with Cith that anticipation of CVS was much worse than the actual event. I think amnio is a pretty similar. I do recommend keeping your eyes well shut. I was pleased I did anyway. To be honest it was just a huge relief to let them finally get on with it, and even bigger when it was all over. Really hope you get good results before your holiday.

Since when was sugar off the menu btw?? Are we all avoiding sugar now? I have a vague feeling I should be but not doing very well at it

MollyBob, I really hope your DH isn't suffering too badly with bipolar disorder. I've seen it handled really badly I'm afraid. Good luck with it

Pamelat - how did the birthday/move go? We've just got our survey results back and my god it makes a depressing read. Not sure what to do now

pamelat · 29/11/2009 21:05

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. Sorry know its a bit rude but have not been able to read many of the posts

We moved house on Friday (was meant to be Thursday - don't ask! Was very stressful 24 hours). Anyway its done now and we are in our lovely new warm home!!

Its been manic, boxes everywhere. We dont have a landline here and probably wont bother getting one, so have been out today to buy one of these mobile dongle thingys for the internet. I think it now costs me about £100 a minute?!!!

DD (22 months) has been incredibly difficult the last few days, big upheaval for her and new nursery start tomorrow. Poor mite. However, selfishly, I have found it tough to deal with her very challenging/destructive behaviour and will be glad to get back to work for a rest. Had almost forgotten that I am pregnant, except for being tired and having to wee at 230am each morning . Feel like things can start to calm down again now.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 30/11/2009 07:31

Welcome Katie

Hollyoaks - hope you had a good night away, lucky thing!

Suey2 - good luck for the amnio

Schipo - I didn't realise we were meant to be avoiding sugar , although I figured it wouldn't be good in huge amounts.

Mollybob - sorry about your DH, I don't know much about bipolar but it sounds like it must be difficult to live with.

Pamelat - congratulations on your move! I hope your DD settles in soon, it must be quite tough for them. Are you back at work today? Good luck getting all unpacked.

LittleOneMum · 30/11/2009 09:30

pamelat congrats on the move! We moved in August and my DS was quite a nightmare for a few days but he settled down OK - just give him some extra comforting things for a few days!

Well, I had an eventful Friday. Thursday night I had some horrid pains, almost like labour pains, which had me curled up on the bathroom floor crying. DH eventually persuaded me to go to A + E at some silly time and they booked me in for an emergency scan first thing on Friday morning. Anyway the upshot of it is that all is fine, the pain has now gone and it appears that it may have been my uterus stretcing but best of all they told me (at my request) that we are expecting a little girl . We were in shock but utterly delighted - and all weekend suddenly the world looked all pink.

Do I add this news to the list?

LittleOneMum · 30/11/2009 09:31

gave him, sorry Pamelat. I know you have a DD!!

AnAngelWithin · 30/11/2009 10:27

oh kaylo thats fab news!! I am so happy for you!

pamelat glad you are all moved in.

gorgeousgirl4444 welcome and congratulations.

LittleOneMum sorry you had such a stressful friday but fabby news about having a little girl.

mollybob i hope you find the support that you both need for bipolar.

pigley i hope the colds are better soon!

Well I can't eat chicken or pork, makes me heave! Red meat seems to be ok, so trying to eat more of that which can only be a good thing for the iron, I get anaemic really easily.

Midwife appointment today for downs risk bloods. 15 weeks today. I need a wee all the time lol.

Debating whether or not to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. We have 2 of each already. But I haven't got anything!! No baby clothes, nothing! Would be nice to buy little blue ones of pink ones!!

Carikube · 30/11/2009 11:32

I hope that everyone is having a good Monday, especially those that have had a difficult few days.

I've just had the swine flu jab (had Pandemrix) and apart from a slightly dead arm don't seem to be feeling it too much - I just hope it stays that way rather than knocking me out later today! MIL is coming to stay for a couple of days and as she is so besotted with dd I know I won't have to worry about keeping her entertained...

suey2 · 30/11/2009 11:46

hello all,
sorry to freak you all out about the sugar! It is only me- my glucose was a little high on my prenatal blood tests, so i have been having to avoid the chocolate biscuits at work etc.

Why, oh why does the week before you go on holiday always end up in chaos? I am very glad i lay on my fat arse yesterday and did precisely nothing.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 30/11/2009 11:51

LittleOneMum - how scary! Glad everything was OK and congratulations on a little girl They're fab!

Carikube - glad you're not feeling the jab badly.

Suey2 - thanks for clarifying! I was panicking in case there was new guidance to stay away from sugar! I like carbs but couldn't cope without sugar - I can go back to wolfing down my whisky brownies now (I figure the whisky would have burnt off during cooking...)

Feeling very emotional and wobbly today Although I found out that my cousin has had a little baby boy so that's cheered me up - his wife was due on the 11th and we hadn't heard anything so I was panicking a bit but apparently he just didn't have my number. Can't wait to see some piccies!

cupcakefairy · 30/11/2009 14:17

LittleOneMum I've had some really really painful cramps in my tummy too, usually in the mornings and I'm practically doubled over with the pain. I think it's just trapped wind in my case but it flipping kills!

I'll try to tweak my profile so you can see the pic now...sorry, not very good at this!

Hi everyone

Good luck on Wednesday Suey (is that when the amnio is?)

Memorylapse sorry you are so anxious and worried, from reading your history it is no wonder you are feeling so on tenterhooks all the time. I am 18+2 and have felt movements for a couple of weeks but they are not consistent and actually I haven't felt over the weekend.

TwentiethCenturyHeffa lovely news on your cousins arrival, my friend had a baby on friday and got me all excited too! Sorry you're feeling a bit down, its natural to have highs and lows.

Carikube glad you are ok after the jab

Littleonemum so glad everything is ok, and congratulations on finding out you are expecting a girl!

We have decided to not find out the sex of our little one, I would love to know but DH prefers the surprise!

Sweetkitty is Wishy now giving scans to those that fall pregnant then? Thats good news, shame it wasn't in time for you.

Nothing new to report here, I am a bit fatter but that is from my lack of self control!
I have my 20wk scan a week on Wednesday, I can't wait but am nervous as well.

memorylapse · 30/11/2009 17:09

hi all..Ive started a thread seperately about my anxieties....had a terrible day today

disaster has strucksad..went to pick the DC'S up from school and DS2 (8) who has issues which we havent had formally diagnosed came out of school saying DH had promised him football cards..he is currently obssessed with match attack football cards and...of course I said no as we werent going to the shop where they sold them(bad move as DS has issues with change of routine and had spent the day thinking he was getting them)..he then went into meltdown pummeling my belly in a rage, screaming and shouting..DS1 was pulling him off shouting mums pregnant!..he then stormed off up the road before running back at me and hurling his school bag into my back..I then had to drive home with him angrily kicking the back of my seat in a rage.

I drove straight to the health centre and ended up in the midwives room in tears, she listened in and assured me that baby would be fine as its well protected..but Im so upset..DS has hit me for a while..so it was unexpected..phoned DH and he said he will be speaking to DS but its a waste of time as he is oblivious to what he has done...
Im absoloutely beside myself ..thinking all sorts..placenta coming away etc..

Carikube · 30/11/2009 17:18

oh memorylapse try not to worry. It's amazing what the little ones manage to put up with inside and they are amazingly well protected. I know that doesn't make it any easier wrt to your DS but please don't worry for your little one.
I hope you're getting the help and support you need for your DS.

memorylapse · 30/11/2009 17:30

carikube..no..there is no officual diagnosis as DH refused to push for a referal..his problems are very subtle..but we have had concerns since he was 5..we think he may ne HFA or AS..hes very bright and does well at school..and can be a lovely lad..the problems occur if his routine is upset..he also becomes obssessed with things..at the moment its football cards..not so long ago it was go go's, he religiously checks them every day..counts them etc...he can tell you which team every single footballer in his match attack book(there are hundreds of them) plays for, just by being given the name.

Cith · 30/11/2009 20:09

memorylapse - oh of course you are feeling anxious and upset but please try not to fret as it doesn't help you or baby and as the midwife and Carikube said it is really likely that your baby is so well protected and will be fine. I hope you can relax a little and get some sleep tonight.

hollyoaks - hope you and DH had a wonderful romantical evening!! Lucky things!

pamelat glad that the move has happened and you are in...it always takes so much longer than you think doesn't it! We moved house at the end of August and despite exchanging in the morning the people we were buying from were still in the house at 7pm that evening! We had to move in room-at-a-time which meant that nothing was clean! SIGH... is so tiring and stressful would be happy not to move again for ages!

mollybob I have also been craving carbohydrates...cakes, bread etc..when normally I don't eat any wheat! Oh and also vanilla milkshakes and oranges (not together!!) DH and I took MIL out for a burger on Saturday - yummy!

I had an appointment with one of the midwives today and as it wasn't until 10am I got to have a sleep-in and go to work later on this horrid wet and windy Monday morning while DH hauled himself up and out to work. So lying awake with hands on my tummy and FELT BABY MOVING!! (well at least I am pretty sure it was!) It was like a little fluttering against my hand - so lovely! Then midwife appointment and got to hear a strong and regular baby heartbeat on the doppler - what a magic sound! Have been feeling a bit bouncy all day!

Swine flu; How many of you have had the Pandemix vs. Celvapan jab? and what week were you when you had it? I asked the Occ.Health team at my work today (work as a therapist with young children for NHS) if I could have Celvapan and she was quite happy to give it to me there and then, but as protocol is that have to have the second jab in 3 weeks - that would be 21st December - and DH and I are leaving to go to Australia to have Christmas with my family two days before! So now have to decide if want to have Celvapan and have with GP before and after long flight to Aus, or just have Pandemix and be done with the whole thing! Any thoughts (sorry...still talking about this bloody SF jab!)??
