I take my metoclopramide before I eat so it gets working straight away - hasn't stopped me vomiting but when I do I'm bringing up less - before I started the metoclopramide I was hardly keeping any fluids down but it has really helped with that and I'm no longer dehydrating. The sickness is improving but I'm sooooo tired - came home from work yesterday - slept within the hour until 11 - had some toast then slept until morning - got DS off to school - back to sleep until 10.30 - up and showered and back in bed, and off for another wee nap soon. (Taken a sicky today even though finances are disastrous and DS and DD have just given me their xmas lists - DS has put almost nothing on it as he knows we're broke and he is 11 and knows there's no Santa and would need a second mortgage for DDs list...)

well booked my sf vaccination for next monday, got to go in with arm bared and ready! typically my sis and niece have come down with swine flu so keeping well clear of them. unfortunately means i have no help with dd as my mum and my eldest niece babysit for my sis and mw has said its too risky.
off out tonight for friends birthday, mexican then bingo!

Sadly I will be leaving you. I won't go into detail on here because it is too upsetting for everyone, but we lost our little one in the early hours of this morning.

I am okay, I am home, incredibly numb but okay.

I know I haven't been a regular poster, more of a regular 'lurker' believe me, but I have found the chat interesting and reassuring over the last few weeks

I just want to wish you all a healthy happy pregnancy, thank you all for your kind words and support yesterday.

Re Swine flu vaccine - I think I am going to get it, have read round about it and their aren't any proven health risks yet the risks of SF are proven, I have 3 DC who have been and no doubt will be around children with SF so chances are they will either get it or bring it home. I just cannot afford to be ill.

Sarahlou - I am so sorry to hear your bad news. I hope you keep well and get back on the wagon soon.

I had my scan yesterday so have adjusted my date to 21st. It's such a relief, I was paranoid about the scan anyway and the bad luck that others have had convinces me that I am right not to take any thing for granted. I've gone public now, which is a bit weird after keeping it a secret for so long. Lots of positive responses which is nice.

Hope everyone else is keeping well and that life is generally uneventful.

Re swine flu jab - I'm with SK I think and I'm going to have it. When I decided not to, the risks to pregnant women didn't seem clear but it does now. If it's around, I am likely to catch it especially as I have ENT issues which mean I do tend to catch things very easily (and colds are often worse for me IYSWIM). I don't feel very happy with having it though.

Carikube - your maternity leave arrangements sound great! Must be an odd feeling though!

Help! Am having a day of feeling totally overwhelmed. DH and I are arguing all the time about money and where we should live and stupid small things and we NEVER argue and I hate it.

I am horrible and snappy to be around. Worrying about the baby, and stupid work, and making endless decisions that I feel I am totally making on my own, and huge bills are coming in, and whether we will cope.

LuckyC - sorry you're having a rough time. I'm taking the 'head in sand' approach. DP and I have to sell two houses to get one together, and one that is big enough for 2 kids, my office, numerous animals and all his former bachelor-games (guitars and more technology than Dixons)... but I just can't begin to get my head around it all. I don't want change right now; I want stability and I don't want to move anywhere or have any life-changing events!

I'm sure the poor man is feeling a bit rejected, but I'm sure everything will be fine in the end. I'm just too tired to think of anything right now - work and motherhood is tiring enough without being pregnant, and certainly without major planning...

It's natural to be hormonal, LuckyC - especially as it's your first. It's far more stressful with baby number one, as it's such a life-changing event. I panicked big time beforehand and stressed about everything. This time, I know the world won't end and I'm way more relaxed about it all.

The best advice I can give is to talk to your DP about how you know you're snappy but how worried you are. Everything will be fine - really!

oh luckyc! There is such a huge adjustment to make when it's your first. IME women plan much earlier whereas men have a head in the sand attitude to becoming a parent for the first time. But rest assured: you WILL cope, everyone does. You cannot plan for every eventuality and the financial stuff works its way out somehow. By all means plan if it is going to be constructive, but there is no point in worrying if there is nothing you can do.
There is a huge change in dynamic when you become a mum. You are used to being independent and all of a sudden you become much more dependent on your partner. Even if you continue to work.
IME it takes the man until your baby is about one year old to really join the party: is it much harder for them, particularly if you BF.
