Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
suey2 · 13/11/2009 18:51

oh hollyoaks . I think a lot of people had their scans at around the same time, so i know i was guilty of saying a collective congrats rather than mentioning people individually. Also, if you have a question people can answer, they will, but if they have nothing to comment they usually dont: focussing on other messages they do have a comment on. I remember your question and it was not something i had a solution for, so i had no comment to make.

pamelat · 13/11/2009 20:02

Hollyoaks, am also sorry. Am perhaps guilty of being selfish and mainly talking about me , before I had my scan i was desperately interested in everyone elses but since it (last weds) its like "right, next thing ... ?!" wrongly so. sorry.

Anyway (selfishly!!) embarassing thing today. Took DD swimming. Felt suddenly ill with stomach pains and just very very hot, decided to cut swimming short. On way back to changing rooms, realised I may faint (did this with my last pregnancy a lot). I panicked and rushed DD, she fell. I could not get her but begged her to come to me (she is only 22 months) forunately she came inside the door and I promptly collapsed. Came round to an upset DD and covered in sick. Still felt ill but now acutely embarassed at being sick in such public area, made it to shower cubicle with DD where I lay on the floor for 10 minutes, mainly being sick. Not nice.

Then felt absolutely fine, very odd. I blame low blood pressure again.

Anyway ..

memorylapse · 13/11/2009 20:05

ooh Pamela..that doesnt sound good..I think you should get checked out at the docs

sweetkitty · 13/11/2009 21:11

Pamelat - that sounds horrible, poor you and poor DD too, agree you should get yourself checked out to be on the safe side

hollyoaks - agree with the others I was just doing an overall congrats on all the scans, it gets a bit mental in here at times, from experience on other AN threads, things do calm down a bit after the initial whirl and you get maybe a dozen or so regular posters that you get to know well (hello pigley ) maybe a case of shouting i.e. saying HELLO PEOPLE I HAVE A QUESTION!!!!!!

Forces - glad you had a good holiday. Is DD mega excited then? My big two are especially DD1 who I think is going to try and mother the baby more than me. She has already decided it's name is Milly it's a girl of course and it can sleep in her bed.

Snap on the hormonal front things that usually do not get to me are getting to me more and I find I am blubbing all the time too. Damn hormones.

pigleychez · 13/11/2009 22:30

Pamlet- Thats awful! How scary. I really would get checked out, especially as you have DD to look after too.

Hollyoaks- Please dont take it personally. I just think this thread moves so quickly that everyone finds it hard to catch up. I keep thinking ill make more effort to post more reguarly but something alway seems to get in the way!
Please do post questions again as they can easily get missed.
SK is right, in a few months there will half as many posters. The July thread we were/are on for our DD's started off really busy but soon dwindled to the hardcore lot

Forces- lucky you on the holiday!

With everyone on the large bobbies. Another pleased DH here!

Carikube · 14/11/2009 08:58

Morning all,
Pamelat, that sounds horrible - I hope you're feeling ok today and that you get yourself checked over.

At last DD slept through the night for the first time since we got back from holiday; I should be feeling beautifully refreshed... BUT DH went out and didn't come in until 1am and was very loud for ages as the friend he was out with came back as well (as he is staying over) and they were talking/making food etc so I was still awake a fair bit in the night. Grr!

Hollyoaks · 14/11/2009 09:16

Hi all

Thanks all for the messages, feel slightly less hormonal today though tired as dd was up vomiting again last night, third night in a row!

Pamelat - that sounds awful, was anyone around to help? You need to see gp, that could be really dangerous.

Forces - glad you had a good holiday but always be prepared for a few people who make you go . I think those encounters can make a holiday much more interesting .

carikube - I never sleep well on those nights when dh is out, theres one due in a couple of weekends and I know he'll stagger in in a right state and be out of action the whole following day.

ForcesSweetheart · 14/11/2009 09:57

Thanks for the welcome ML It's nice to be home.

Wish someone would tell me I looked slimmer Heffa, I feel like a blimp right now.

pamelat that's awful, how scary. I'm with the others, I'd deffo be seeing the doc about that.

SK DD's well excited. Talks about the baby constantly. I decided to try out the doppler last night just on the off chance and heard the heartbeat! Called DD upstairs to hear it too and she was so chuffed. She too has already named the baby, Molly (which I'm quite happy to go with if it's a girl as it was my great aunt's name too so would keep the family happy)! Says she only wants a sister as she doesn't like boys and coz a sister is cheaper ( she's obviously heard Andy and I discuss the savings of having another girl with all the girl stuff we still have!)

hollyoaks I spose it did give DH and I something to talk about lol, he referred to the family as "jeremy kyle", I felt a wee bit guilty about being such a snob and feeling smug about DD's good behaviour & healthy eating (was incredibly smug when she said rather loudly "please may I have more brussel sprouts" when child in question "won't eat anything but bread and butter"), but the late night coke in a babys bottle was the final straw and I no longer felt guilty just

Hobnobfanatic · 14/11/2009 11:35

PAmelat - that sounds so scary. Do get it checked - thank God it didn't happen in the pool.

Am very jealous of your hol, Forces - especially with the current stormy weather!

QUESTION!
If you dye (semi permanent) your hair - are you continuing through the pg? I didn't think anything of it and had it coloured at 9 weeks and am now panicking I should have waited until 12 at least - or not at all.
Don't know whether to do it again.
What's everyone else doing?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 14/11/2009 11:35

Hi guys, sorry I've been awol a while, I'm at mil's house just checking emails so I haven't got time to catch up properly right now, just wanted to let you know that I finally had my scan, all is well and they've brought me forward a week, so due date now 14th. Baby was fast asleep, didn't move a muscle! I have 3 pics of it, all exactly the same! lol

Hope you're all well, if not blooming! x

Morning all! How are you all?

Right, going to try and catch up on things!!

Firstly, I had my scan yesterday, all good!! Baby was too busy flipping round like a fish out of water, so has now been renamed 'sardine' as later on it will be playing that when it runs out of room as well!! I have had my dates moved forward 5 days now, so official due date is now 24th May. I will adjust my stats in a sec. We told the kids who are thrilled, apart from ds2, who is a bit bewildered about it i think. dd2 its adamant it is a girl. Not sure what she will do if it's a boy!!! Have sent everyone in the family a picture text this morning of the scan, entitled 'can you tell what it is yet??' Awaiting responses... Probably chicken of me but I just thought that way, nobody can play the 'but so and so knew before me' card!!

Pic of scan on profile...I think!!

Right, catch up time now....

suey2, how the heck do you manage to lug those around?? Bless ya.

Hollyoaks, big HIIIIIII!!!! How are you?? Hope your dd is better soon x

ForcesSweetheart, how's the washing going?!?! Glad you had a nice holiday

Pamelat, Hope you are ok.

Heffa thats nice! Someone said the same to me yesterday too haha. I have lost about 4lb, but nothing massive.

SK, everything sets me off crying at the moment!! Was reading a thing on the news website about lots of little ducks in a sink swimming and i started blubbing like a pratt

Pigley, men and boobs = kid and sweetshop!! haha

Angel- Loving the "Sardine" name

Hob- I personally have avoided it. My sis is a Hairdresser and had her various colours through her pregnancy, but then again she ignore all the food advice too
My highlights are down by my ears as I havent seem my sis lately for her to do it( she doesnt live near me and id rather not pay! )

James- on the sleepy baby!

Hideous weather here. Heavy rain, strong wind, Hailstones, thunder and lightening. It really is grim!!

schipo · 14/11/2009 13:00

Great to hear about more good scans. Sorry though that people are suffering with fainting, sickness, GD, SPD, hormonal surges etc. Fingers crossed that symptoms ease...

Good to hear that the boobs are coming along nicely too I was a 34a really but have some 32c bras that always fitted better. Still squeezing into them. Change doesn't seem to have made a big impression on DH, but then we have been together for a very long time I can't really imagine them getting any bigger to be honest. Don't they stop growing now until breast feeding starts?

Also interesting to read that so many people are hoping for girls. I grew up with sisters and never missed having brothers. I guess same sex siblings may fight less? Anyway, since this will probably be my only pregnancy i was sort of hoping for non-identical twins of any type. Of course - in reality having one healthy baby would be just fantastic! Quite happy to have learnt its a boy though as things turn out. I've been working in IT for so long I'm more used to male company now and I'm afraid I've never really been a big fan of the pink that all girls seem to come with these days.

ftr, both nub theory and even the chinese calender prediction charts agree with the genetic analysis in my case! Coincidence?

Pigley - I know what you mean about the weather. Just wondering if I'm brave enough to go outside in it ...

schipo · 14/11/2009 13:09

Hobnob - no hair dye here - but never have. I'm just working on learning to love the natural silver highlights that seem to be appearing ;)

Hi, had my first scan yesterday and all looking good so far. Also had nuchal done so will wait upon those results. Dates slightly wrong so I have updated the list. Nice to be able to tell people at last although surprising that a few had already guessed - obviously not looking as svelte as I thought I was!

suey2 · 14/11/2009 13:53

Hello all.
Bad news this end. Downs likely so will have amnio in two weeks

schipo · 14/11/2009 14:02

Wow, Suey, very sorry!

They said the same thing to me. If scan was ok though the chances are it's just your age pushing up the odds and you'll probably be ok. This was what they made clear to me during the follow up test I had and I was much less worried after that.

Didn't they offer you CVS test? At least that can be done quickly and the waiting was worse part for me anyway. I'm still waiting on my full results tbh. Still don't know what I'll do if its bad news.

Fingers crossed and remember that even if they've given you 1:2 odds there's still 50% that everything is ok. x

Hollyoaks · 14/11/2009 14:08

Hobnob - point taken on asking questions. Sorry but never dyed my hair so no advice.

James & Angel & Schipo - good news on the scans.

Suey - sorry you've had bad news, fingers crossed the amnio gives you some reassurance.

ForcesSweetheart · 14/11/2009 14:11

suey I'm so sorry you've had bad news. Try and keep strong, you never know what the amnio could tell you.

hobnob i did mine at almost 13wks, a day or 2 b4 as goig on hol. Will only be doing it when absolutely in need of it.

angelwithin v cool scan pic, so much clearer than mine (also on profile I think) but I expect that's due to my huge excess of tummy fat. The washing's pretty much done, just the dreaded putting away now. Thanking god I bought a new tumble dryer before we went on holiday!

mollybob · 14/11/2009 14:11

Hi all - so sorry about your bad news Suey but good luck

Having same dilemma about hair dye and don't know the answer - sorry

Sorry to all for being a bit useless on here as still so sick and exhausted and grumpy that I'm a bit self absorbed

suey2 · 14/11/2009 14:12

Hello all. Loving the sardine nickname!

Bad news this end. Downs risk borderline so will have amnio in two weeks.

suey2 · 14/11/2009 14:17

oops!
Thanks guys. Schipo you may be right: unfortunately I'm too late for cvs and it's more risky. I personally would not keep a downs baby, so really want to be sure. Hopefully I will have a good result in time for my holiday. Dd was a risk of 1/3500 and this one is 1/180, so a huge difference.

AnAngelWithin · 14/11/2009 14:30

oh suey. Fingers crossed for you. We are here for you whatever happens and you decide.

Schipo are you in the same boat as suey then?

Bless you both.
