Yes, my new boobs (previously A cup) are the best bit so far - it's great to have a cleavage for a change and DH is like a child in a sweet shop!

I wish the MS would go though so I can start enjoying the pregnancy. I'm almost 14 weeks now so surely it should be going soon?

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 13/11/2009 11:31

My boobs are pretty huge anyway but have still got bigger I seem to remember this being the most noticeable time for that, until after the birth. They're soooo sore though, especially since DD loves jumping on to me for a cuddle - very cute, but she keeps whacking me with her head or elbows.

I have to have a glucose tolerance test at some point too - what does it actually involve? My MW assumed I'd had one last time but I didn't.

Hollyoaks · 13/11/2009 11:50

Hi all, Haven't been able to catch up properly as my computer at home has melted so sneaking on at work.

I had my dating scan today and everything looks good, baby was jumping around loads but dated at 11+5 rather than 12 weeks today so have to go back next week so they can take all the proper measurements. What a shame . I also saw the Dr as I had high bp in my last pregnancy but they discharged me back to midwifery care. However, she did prescribe some medicine for the continual ms and now vomiting. My water had ketones in which she said was a sign of dehydration and not getting enough nourishment, can't wait for those to kick in.

DD's had a uti again this week so the vomiting has not helped with my ms, but her abs seemed to have perked her up.

Hope everyone is well.

cupcakefairy · 13/11/2009 12:15

Yes, my boobs are out of control too and dh is over the moon about it men! Yesterday he looked at a photo of me from last year and went 'ha! Look how small your boobs are!' I definitely need to go bra-shopping soon...

Had my letter this morning confirming all bloods normal

Same here, everyone assuming that I want a boy as have a girl I really dont care but admit to a very slight preference for another girl.

I think this will be my final pregnancy as I feel a bit over whelmed. Moving house next Friday, daughter in full on tantrum mood, work too busy and a uni assignment due next weekend!! Who knows though, ask me in a few years?!

sweetkitty · 13/11/2009 13:04

Am a bit of all these big boobs, mine are a bit tender but that's about it. I stopped feeding DD3 the week before I found out I was pregnant, I don't think they have recovered. I'm not bothered they are super boobs anyway having feed 3 babies for more than a year each. I was a 34D prior to babies think I am currently wearing a 34C bra and am very naughty am will not get any of those maternity bras, I just get some cheap normal bras until I need the nursing ones. DP not a boobs man anyway, think having seen them used for their real purpose over the years has put him off.

pamelat · 13/11/2009 13:07

Am 34A girl (unfortunately) and may currently be either a fuller 34a (!) or 34B but no need for new bras.

Funnily DH has always said he loves my small boobs but have noticed he seems to prefer them now! So much for not being a boobs man.

memorylapse · 13/11/2009 13:14

Lotus..its unusual to be diagnosed before 20 weeks but in my case the MW said there is a strong possibility I was mildly diabetic before pregnancy and didnt know.

on the boobs front..I was a 42d before pregnancy and I dread to think what size they are now..DHv cant take his eyes off them.

Im 15+3 today and babies movements are now more iobvious..this of course has brought with it a whole heap of extra worries as If I dont feel it..I worry and have to remind myself its still quite small

LotusPalm · 13/11/2009 13:15

Oh no, dont be - i dont like them at all! I swear they keep getting in the way. DH isn't helping by constantly saying how GINOURMOUS they are and pointing out how much they have grown. He's not much of a boob man either and i just feel like a big heifer. I think i need to get over this though as, frankly, i think it'll be the least of my issues! Dont call me neurotic

All my bikini's look indecent and i'm going on holiday in 4 weeks...

I've already had to buy 2 different sizes of bra and think i might be approaching my 3rd. What is everyone's opinions on maturnity bras? Are they actually necessary? Do I really have to wear non under-wired ugliness for 6 months? Plus, they are sooooo uncomfortabe, there's just too much fabric all over the place...

Hobnobfanatic · 13/11/2009 14:01

I've also gone up two bra sizes; M+S fitted me last time and said it wasn't necessary to get a maternity bra - just some cheap, well-fitted ones, as I'm growing out of them all so quickly. She said I'd need another fitting at around 20 weeks,. but I'm not even 15 weeks yet and am spilling out of the last size they gave me!

Slight preference for another girl here, too. But probably only because I've so loved having my DD. If I'd had a DS first time round, I'm sure I'd be wanting a DS. Whatever we'll get, we'll love!

Moggmum - sickness continuing here, too. MOrnings are better, but evenings are awful...

mollybob · 13/11/2009 14:29

Same here - feel dreadful in evenings! Boobs scary big - must get new bras - won't bother with maternity ones. Hope I'm going to feel better soon.

Hollyoaks · 13/11/2009 14:52

Hi all

Really feel like I'm struggling on this thread and not sure why. I've asked a question lately which noone replied to and now not one person has congratulated me on my scan earlier today. Not sure why as I always try my best to congratulate anyone who gets good news (sorry if I've missed you out, it was not intentional) but I feel as though I'm being slightly ignored on here.

If its my hormones making me paranoid than let me know but I feel a little isolated at the moment and I'm not sure what I've done.

memorylapse · 13/11/2009 15:10

awww hollyoaks dont feel like that..I find that this thread seems to move so fast that I cant keep up with all the posts, so quite often just skim read, so its easy to miss people out.
I find that not all posts I make are aknowledged but put it down to the fast pace of the thread
Sorry I missed that you had a scan today will scroll down and find your post..can I ask what your question was..maybe I can answer

memorylapse · 13/11/2009 15:14

Just found your post Hollyoaks..so glad the scan went well..am surprised that they wont you to come back as my dating scan was at 11+1 and they didnt want to see me again..it will be nice to have another scan next week though

Glad youve got something for the MS..if its any consolation..mine has eased so Im not actually throwing up but still feel nauseas..but I feel a lot better..hopefully it should ease up for you soon

Hollyoaks · 13/11/2009 15:19

To be honest ML I don't even remember what the question as it was nothing majorly important. I'm probably being over-emotional and sensitive. I was so excited for this scan today as I'm right at the end of the month and behind everyone else, I guess I was just hoping that it would be noticed. Feeling really sick today and had a very hard week with ms and dd, probably more me than anyone else.

Hollyoaks · 13/11/2009 15:20

Thanks for replying ML, I really appreciate it.

MoggMum · 13/11/2009 15:28

Holloaks..pls don't feel - I often don't respond to questions as this is my first pregnancy and I don't feel suitably 'qualified' to answer most of them!
Congrats on your scan - I'm surprised they've asked you to return for another as I had mine at 11+5 and they took all the necessary measurements then. Still, it will be nice to get another chance to see LO

pamelat..funny my DH also preferred the smaller boob but is now taking more than a passing interest in my not quite so small (anymore) boobs!!

memorylapse · 13/11/2009 15:29

Hollyoaks..pregnancy hormones have a lot to answer for..I sat abd blubbed my eyes out yesterday but I have no idea why..severe MS does get you down..I felt unterrly miserable at the worst

Carikube · 13/11/2009 15:30

Sorry Hollyoaks if you've been feeling ignored - it wasn't intentional (and congrats on a successful scan by the way!).

DD is being a whiny little thing at the moment and I just don't know what to do to cheer her up and I guess I'm just being selfish in that I'm only really thinking of myself instead of anyone else

ForcesSweetheart · 13/11/2009 15:38

Hi everyone, got back from our hols last night and am up to my armpits in washing now. The holiday was OK, weather lovely and DD had a ball but food not up to much - chips with everything and same old slop every day, virtually no vegetarian choice. Have sworn I won't go on another cheapie all-inclusive ever again - if I ever do all-inc again it'll have to Sandals or sumthin (and as I'm never likely to afford that it'll probably be never).
Met a couple of nice people but some too. Had to really bite my tongue at 17yo mum complaining that her almost 4yo wouldn't go to sleep til 1am when I'd just seen her give him a baby bottle full of coke at 10pm!

Sorry to hear about your diabetes memorylaps and those of you with GD looming over you. I've been type 2 diabetic for 6 years now and so had to be closely monitored by the pre-conception clinic before they'd give me the OK to even try to conceive. With DD I was on insulin from the day after my BFP, but this time round the bypass and huge weight loss has meant I haven't needed it yet thankfully and am getting by on 2 metformin a day.

Am also at those o you with bigger boobs now, mine are still pretty saggy from the weight loss and was hoping pregnancy might plump them out a bit but not as yet. I have put on some weight tho, 5lbs so far (I'm 15+4 today I think). Really hoping I don't put loads on this time, would hate to get back on that road again. The consultant said 2st is about average but less would be better as I'm still a BMI of about 30 point something - ideally I don't want to put on more than one and a half stone by term. I only put on 1lb while on holiday, which I reckon was pretty good going for 11 nights of all-you-can eat/drink. The first 4lb I put on in my first 4wks after BFP - I put that down to just thinking "yeay I'm pregnant I can eat what I like now", but thankfully the rise stopped after that. Has anyone else started putting weight on yet?

I have a hospital appt at the diabetic ante-natal clinic on Monday morning, then on Thursday morning I have my 16wk MW appt followed by my swine flu jab. I reckon I need to have it as with diabetes and asthma on top of pregnancy the risk of not having it is too high.

My 20wk scan is on 15th Dec, so I guess my 22wk foetal heart scan will be around New Years eve time. My mum will be here visiting for the 20wk scan and both her and DH are desperate to find out sex, though I don't want to. Dunno if I'll cave in or not.

ForcesSweetheart · 13/11/2009 15:45

Aww hollyoaks, just saw your post. So sorry you've been feeling like that. I know I for one am terribly guilty of getting wrapped up in my own issues and being selfish. With working the hours I do and a dealing with my 3yo I don't get a lot of time to keep up with what's happening with everyone on the thread so tend to just skim a lot of the time. Bit after the horse has bolted but congrats on the scan!

ForcesSweetheart · 13/11/2009 16:33

Just a quick note re dopplers. I bought a pro one on ebay for 1st preg and found it quite reassuring but it cost me about £70 quid (made most of that back by reselling when done tho). This time around I picked up one of the cheaper kinds (angelsounds) at an NCT nearly new sale for a fiver, well worth checking those out for all kinds of bargains. I haven't attempted to use mine yet this time round as in first preg the GP couldn't find heartbeat using his doppler at 17 weeks (largely coz of my tummy fat which at 22st or thereabouts was substantial). Altho I'm down to about 13st now most of it is still on my belly so I doubt I'd hear anything this early.

Does anyone know when viv's due baCK from HM? I've just caught up with all I've missed while on hols and couldn't believe her sad news. I really hope the wedding was a beautiful day for her and she's enjoying a relaxing honeymoon. Can't wait to see the pics.

Hobnobfanatic · 13/11/2009 16:42

Hollyoaks - sorry you've felt this way. There are so many people here, so many posts, I can't keep up. I just come, give my news, contribute if I can and then disappear until the next time! There's no way anyone could comment on each and every post - there's just too many and it moves so quickly.

I'm glad your scan went well - it's such a relief and makes the pregnancy all the more real...

memorylapse · 13/11/2009 16:46

Forces..nice to see you back

Ive hired a pro doppler from Hi Baby..its 9.99 a month..it says in the instructions though that it should only be used once every 2-3 days so Ive had to resist the urge to listen in every day!

Angel..any news on your scan?

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 13/11/2009 17:18

Hollyoaks - sorry you've felt like that I think these threads move very fast, and it can be difficult to keep up with everything that's being said. I've felt the same way about threads I've been on before, but it's just the way it goes sometimes. Congratulations on your scan

ForcesSweetheart - welcome back from your hols, glad you had a nice time I don't know when Viv's back, I hope she feels up to coming back and telling us about the wedding.

I had a friend come round today who brought lunch and then told me that I looked slimmer and that she could definitely see my bump. Love her!
