Mmmm..pringles

Tomlin sounds like a perfecty normal hormonal episode to me your poor ds though that is really sad! Maybe someone will drop out of the class...
Glad the milk thing is normal too dh yesterday was like 'where's all the milk gone??'

Dh has heard this morning he got the job he interviewed for yesterday, yippee! So this baby will be able to actually wear some clothes.

Just heard from a close friend of mine she is due the exact same day as me so cool!

Congrats, cupcake on your DP's job. Mine started one this week, which, we think, means he's not eligible for paternity leave: ( Apparently, to qualify you need to work for your employer from the 40th week before the expected birth date all the way to the date the baby is actually born.

Since I'm self-employed and get nowt in terms of maternity pay (well, apart from SMP, which I couldn't survive on), it looks like I'm going to be a very busy girl, post-birth!

pamelat · 06/11/2009 12:44

Hobnob, me too.
The thought of having milk on anything makes me feel sick.
I cant even eat cereal which I normally love.
In fact I have gone off most liquids (which surely cant be good?) and am having to force myself to remember to drink water.
The only drink that I actually enjoy at the moment is hot chocolate (normally a tea girl) and I only like hot chocolate if its made in a cafe so can't have that all the time!!

pamelat · 06/11/2009 12:59

nub theory suggests am having another girl!!

my sickness is back again..spent the whole night tossing and turning feeling really sick.

I seem to have grown a bump over night and just walked into the bathroom sink.
14+3 today..Ive no idea hen my 20 week scan will be as they dont send the appts out until a week or so before hand

suey2 · 06/11/2009 16:25

hola todo
hurray! friday!
Another milk fiend here- really calms the nausea.
Another SMP only person, as is DH. Pisses me off, as it goes: I employ 4 people who are all entitled: but do i get a rebate on my employer's NI? Do i buggery.
Had an interesting chat with a research scientist this morning who was absolutely fine with celvapan and felt it was no risk, but ha serious reservations about pandremix. All comes down to the adjuvant/ squalene: apparently there is a theory that it cause gulf war syndrome and although he was dubious about that, he did say that injections using adjuvant have only been used en masse on the elderly. Now, since it tkes 10-15 years in principle for problems to manifest, those issues have not been discovered because that patients have died.

He described it very clearly to me: apparently it could result in any of a number of auto-immune diseases further along the track.

So, for me, if they can't offer me celvapan, i won't have it and take the risk. I reckon it won;t be anywhere near as much a problem as predicted: and i'll take relenza if i do get it.

memorylapse · 06/11/2009 16:49

Im definitely not having the jab unless they can offer the alternative one..my little babys life hangs in the balance each day due to the haemotoma and Im certainly not going to pump it full of "dodgy" chemicals

LolaAnn · 06/11/2009 17:02

Well I had my official 12 week scan today and baby was looking very cute. Took the fluid measurement even though I said I didn't want Down's testing but she said it was fine 1.5 or something?? No idea if that is good or bad??

Hubby was quite impressed with litte bubby and the midwife said something about it being a girl and now he is convinced its a girl.

And had the most violent blood test ever my arm still hurts

memorylapse · 06/11/2009 17:08

glad the scan went well Lola..1.5 mm is a good measurement and well within the normal range

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 06/11/2009 18:18

Lola - congrats on the scan Hope your arm feels better soon, I hate bad blood tests.

Cupcake - congrats to your DH

I miss milk I drank it loads for a while last time until I was very sick and it put me off so I haven't tried it this time. I do like yogurt though - especially Muller Crunch Corners. My own yogurt with jam is quite good at easing nausea too.

Feeling really really rough today Hoping I haven't caught DD's sickness bug. I had my hair cut as well so it's not waist length anymore but kind of at the bottom of my shoulder blades. Not sure if I like it, but I figure it'll grow back quickly atm!

pamelat · 06/11/2009 19:17

Having read a little about swine flu jabs, my amateur personal opinion is that I only want celvapan.

Hope everyone feeling ok. I took DD swimming today, time to get a maternity swim suit!

Den26 · 06/11/2009 19:45

Hi All, sorry been away for a whie, just catching up.

Viv - i am so, so sorry to hear your news. Hope you are looking after each other.

Suey - hope you are ok.

Glad to hear other's scans are going well.

Welcome to those who have joined us.

Not much happening here, waiting for my dating scan appointment to come through - i hope its soon. i'll be 12 weeks next week.

I feel much different this time which is a good thing and hopefully means things are going well. Feel pressure in my womb area - sorry physiology not my strong point! Which i am taking as things growing and changing??

Completely lacking of energy and still gagging when i'm brushing my teeth!! My skin is also horrendous - the joys - but wouldn't change it for the world!

Hope everyone's well

brightredballoon · 07/11/2009 00:35

Thanks Suey for sharing the info on the swine flu jab, I haven't felt comfortable with the Pandemrix (sp?) since a GMTV piece and since the online chat with a Dr on mumsnet. Reading your thoughts as well I am not going to have the jab on Wednesday unless I can have the Clevepan. Naively perhaps, I know of two women who have had swine flu during pregnancy and have recovered well and have had normal babies without complications.

Can't believe I am up at this time, I have been out to a girls makeup/accessory party, my credit card isn't very bruised since I had a clear head as no alcohol!

Hobnobfanatic · 07/11/2009 09:31

On the flip side - in the nearest town to me, two pregnant women are on life support with swine flu...

I am utterly undecided on vaccination. I change my mind every two mins!

memorylapse · 07/11/2009 13:02

had another BH this morning..woke up this morning and my bump was hard..wish it wouldnt do that cos Ive been told no sex as it causes contractions..so keep worrying everytime I have a BH.

got my swine flu invitation letter through..my surgery are only offering panderemix..so its a no from me..apart from anything else..I had ME years ago..so im not particularly happy about the effects of the vaccine to ME

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 07/11/2009 13:08

The swine flu thing is a nightmare isn't it? I really can't make up my mind at all. Neither of the vaccines sound great but I don't want to put myself and the baby at risk either (obviously). I'm normally very pro-vaccine so this is the first time I've ever dithered with something like this.

Looking forward to this afternoon, a friend's coming round so I can catch up on gossip, yay! I think I had a tummy bug yesterday, prob. caught from DD, which was really grim Fell asleep on the bathroom floor

Hope your scan appointment comes through soon Den26 - have you tried calling your midwife to check she's booked you in?

memorylapse · 07/11/2009 13:17

Heffa- its a worry all right..I feel I should be having the jab really as I work with the public...

Den..definitely phone your midwife..sometimes scans do get over looked in fact with dd2 my entire refereal to the consultant was lost so I didnt get my hospital booking in until 16 weeks.

Im loving the new emoticon..this one

pamelat · 07/11/2009 15:02

anyone else suffering from a complete energy dip? Am 13 weeks + 4 days. Feel very weak and tired, think it must be blood pressue. had very low blood pressure when pregnant with DD. Have spent all morning in bed whilst DH took DD to park. Also just had an hours sleep whilst she has her nap. DH now out until early evening and think I will struggle when she wakes up. Poor girl.

We had a chinese last night and DH bought the "wrong" dish and I didn't like it so I burst in to tears and went to bed feel very sorry for him.

My grandad was taken in to hospital yesterday and quite upset as we lost my grandma (his wife) in June. I think I am trying to ignore it, hence getting upset about chinese takeaways.

He has suspected pneumonia (spelling?) and one of his lungs has collaspsed. He is having a blood tranfusion today (he has leukiemia but it is normally managed monthly with transfusions). Does anyone have any personal or professional advice about how safe it is to visit a hospital ward whilst pregnant? Am thinking of going tomorrow.

memorylapse · 07/11/2009 16:45

Pamela..Im shattered too. 14+4 and no energy.
sorry to hear about your grandad..with regards to visiting the ward whilst pregnant I would ring and ask because Im assumingthat he is on a respiratory ward and most patients on there will be having problems with breathing caused by respiratory infections..but these are usually bacterial rather than viral...they will probably be more concerned about you bringing in infection that could compromise the patients so do use the hand gel on entry and exit..Im an ex nurse by the way

Yorky · 07/11/2009 19:46

Loving the hormone stroies! I've been very good so far but with DH I lost it in McDs one time when I needed a vanilla milkshake and they weren't doing them at the time because they had a limited edition one on instead, caramel or something I ranted at DH (fortunately not the poor staff) why do they need 2chocolate ones on!

Thought my tiredness was easing so had a couple of useful days and am now knackered again!

ML - keep thinking positive thoughts for your little fighter, they've done so well to get this far.
I get to see mine on Tuesday morning, trying not to be too excited, I get so nervous in the waiting room and if the little fluttering heart isn't immediately obvious to me I panic. With DD I couldn't see any movement at all and as it was only a month after a friend had had a mmc found at her scan I was almost in floods before anything was said

Sorry to those who are still waiting for the sickness to ease

Yorky · 07/11/2009 19:51

typos galore!
stories obviously, and with DS not DH

napa · 07/11/2009 20:29

evening all,

am just doing a proper catch up on the thread after a busy week at work.

viv - am really sorry to hear about what has happened and hope you are doing as well as you can and can enjoy your wedding

ml - am also feeling some bh - had one during my scan!!

and to pamelat - def energy dip - had a 3 hour nap this afternoon and still feel i could sleep for another 12 hours!!

well all going ok so far with me, sickness much improved and not needing to eat every 5 mins anymore.

only problem is i have very few work clothes that fit me any more, surviving on 2 pairs of trousers and a couple of dresses! and only 2 bras that fit so off to shop tomorrow!

DD still very excited - i put the sonicaid on this week so she could hear the baby's heartbeat and she is loving all the attention about being a big sister

hope everyone else is ok

charmbutterfly · 08/11/2009 01:29

So today i threw a fit in the grocery store because they had no kiwis and i have been feeling like a drug addict in rehab without them LOL

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 08/11/2009 10:01

Pamelat - sorry about your Grandad Hope it's all OK.

I've been lucky so far with hormones and avoided any huge hissy fits, but I do keep complaining about minor things to DH. I also get very annoyed when I can't get the food I want

suey2 · 08/11/2009 11:05

pamelat sorry to hear about your grandad. I hope you get to see him.

Also feeling very tired: DH has been up at 5am all week and i couldn't sleep through it. More sickness having gone back on ADs but hopefully now it's settling down, it did last time. At least i'm not tempted to eat my bodyweight in chips any more, though!

I was a bit worried that i couldn't find a heartbeat with my doppler, but tried again today and goodness me, LO was awake and moving around loads! every time i had a poke in the wee bugger moved! Definitely heard a HB intermittently though.

Having a duvet day today and DD is stuck in front of the box as DH is at work. Oh well, every now and again won't kill her, although i do feel a smidge guilty.
